A study on the Color Image of University students
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 1~7
The purpose of this study was to investigate the image of color of 230university students. In this paper, the degree of preference of for Blue, White were higher than those of others. There was a difference among individuals for the hatred color. It was considered Yellow as spring. Blue as summer and White as winter about the seasonal color, but the range of color image was wide for the color of autumn. White, Grey and Black like achromatic colors have a proper image, black has a positive image in particular. In case of 12 chromatic colors, Red, Yellow, Blue and Yellow Green have a proper image. In particular, Red was shown the same image but Blue was shown the contradiction image as compared with the preceding studies. Green, one of the primary colors(Red, Green, Blue) of light sources, has not a characteristic image.
Recognition of Partial Discharge Patterns
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 8~17
In this work, two approaches were proposed for the recognition of partial discharge patterns. The first approach was neural network with backpropagation algorithm, and the second approach was angle calculation between t재 operator vectors. PD signals were detected using three electrode systems; IEC(b), needle-plane and CIGRE method II electrode system. Both of neural network and angle comparison method showed good recognition performance for the patterns similar to the trained patterns. And the number of operators to be used had a great influence on the recognition performance to the untrained patterns.

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 26~30
In this paper, we obtain a mathematical model of a gas turbine control system from experimental data. The gas turbine in Gunsan power plant is selected as controlled system. The recursive least square algorithm is used to model the plant. For parameter estimation, plant is assumed as second order system and forgetting factor is 0.98 and the period of input and output signal period is 1sec. As a result, input and output characteristics of real system and modeling are identified.
A Study on the Design of Intelligent Cruise Controller
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 31~35
An nonlinear observer-based longitudinal control law for vehicles is presented in this paper. It is assumed that for vehicle i knows only the distance between vehicle i and the preceding vehicle, i-1. An nonlinear state observer for vehicle I is developed to estimate the velocity and acceleration of the preceding vehicle, i-1. The communication of the position, velocity, and acceleration information is not used in the proposed method. It will be shown by mathematical analysis that the longitudinal control of vehicle can be implemented without an communication of the informations. It will be proven that the observation errors of the nonlinear states converge to zero asymptotically. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, the simulation results are presented for the longitudinal control of the vehicle.
Characteristics Analysis of Electromagnetic Pump using Linear Induction Motor
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 36~42
This paper presents the characteristics analysis of electromagnetic pump using linear induction motors. The electromagnetic pump is designed to transfer the molten metals by the electromagnetic force of linear induction motors. The characteristics f a linear induction motor are analysed by the equivalent circuit method considering the end effects. For the verification of the analysis method, the locked test and load test with molten tin were made. The test results of locked test were compared with the simulations, and the velocity of the load test with molten zinc showed 0.24[m/x] with air gap 30[gap] which is sufficient for transferring molten tin.

A Study of the High Efficiency and Stability in Ultrasonic Generation circuit
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 46~51
The generation of the intensive ultrasonic waves depend mainly on the energy conversion efficiency depending on high frequency oscillation of the generator and the control performance of stable output depending on load variation, respectively. In this dissertation, a new configuration of ultrasonic generator is specially proposed and designed for improving both efficiency and stability. The generating frequency is turned by a PLL. which is controlled through the detection on phase difference between outputs and currents of the loads and the output amplitude of MOSFET, Q1 are controlled by their products through the multiplier, which results in the control of the amplitude of voltage controlled oscillation. And finally, the proposed and designed ultrasonic generator is composed by the combination of the function in mentioned above. the analysis results of the proposed circuit shows a good agreement between simulations and experiments.
A novel PFC AC/DC converter for reducing conduction losses
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 52~58
This paper presents a novel power factor corrected(PFC) single-stage AC/DC half-bridge converter, which features discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) and soft-switching. The reduced conduction losses are achieved by the employment of a novel powder factor correction circuitry, instead of the conventional configuration composed of a front-end rectifier followed by a boost converter. To identify the validity of the proposed converter, simulated results of 500[W] converter with 100[V] input voltage and 50[V]output voltage are presented.
The Ozone Generation and Discharge Noise Characteristics of Superposed Discharge Noise Characteristics of Superposed Discharge Type Ozonizer Using Three-Phase Voltage
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 59~67
In this paper, an ozonizer, which can supply individual and superposed silent discharge using three-phase voltage has been designed and manufactured. The ozonizer consists of 3 electrodes(Central Electrode, Internal Electrode and External Electrode and External electrode) and 2 gaps (gap between Central Electrode and Internal Electrode, gap between Internal Electrode and External Electrode). Ozone is generated according to voltage supplying method to each electrode by individual silent discharge and three-phase superposed discharge. The characteristics of ozone generation were investigated with variation of discharge power and the flow rate of supplied gas (O2). In case of individual silent discharge, the maximum values of ozone concentration, ozone generation and ozone yield were obtained between internal electrode and external electrode, and its values were 2300[ppm], 570[mg/h] and 745[g/kWh] respectively. Each maximum value was 5039[ppm], 1773[mg/h] and 851[g/kWh] respectively, when three-phase superposed silent discharge was employed. Therefore, characteristics of ozone generation with three-phase voltage are improved compared with single-phase voltage because silent discharge is generated continuously.
Ozone Generation Characteristics by according to the Coaxial Electrode Geometry
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 68~74
In this paper the concentration, yield and generation quantity of the ozone by the superposition discharge according to the coaxial electrodes geometry is described. In order to improve the ozone generation, a new type of ozonizer is proposed, where a silent discharge and a surface discharge are generated in the separated discharge spaces at the same time. To investigate the ozone generation dependency on electrode geometry, a few discharge tubes with different geometry were fabricated. In our experiment, the 60[Hz] one phase voltage is applied to the discharge tube which has three electrodes. And three kinds of discharges, two silent discharges and a surface discharge are superposed in the same space of the ozonizer. As a result, the followings are obvious. When two kinds of discharges are superposed under the condition using 3 electrode-3gap discharge tube, the maximum ozone efficiency is obtained.

A Study on characteristics of the forward type high frequency pulse power supply for lamp type ozonizer
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 14, issue 2, 2000, Pages 89~96
This paper describes the forward type pulse power supply which is the simple circuit configuration and easy to be managed using a power semiconductor switching device(Power-MOSFET) in the view of commercialization. The maximum value of output pulse voltage of the proposed pulse power supply system can be realized by the variation of phase angle(
) of bridge rectifier circuit and also its pulse period is determined by the duty ratio of Power-MOSFET. The principle of basic operating and the operating characteristics of the forward type pulse power supply are estimated by the switching frequency, the variation of phase angle(
)It is shown that theoretical and experimental results are in good agreement by comparing simulation and experimental results of proposed pulse power supply when a lamp type ozonizer can be used as a load. This proposed pulse power system shows that it can be practically used in the future as a power source system in various fields.
