The Characteristics Change of Fluorescent Lamp According to Tube Shape

This paper described about variance of optical and electrical characteristics on a fluorescent lamp according to tube shape by measuring electric field of positive column, temperature and luminance of tube w- all. Electric field calculation of several amps shows that the characteristics was not changed in positive column, though cathode fall length, and the values of temperature and luminance of tube wall, changes mush in cathode region.
The Modeling Analysis of the AT Forward Multi-Resonant Converter

The high efficiency multi-resonant converter(MRC) is capable of operating at a high frequency because the losses are decreased due to the resonant tank circuit. Such a few MHz high frequency applications provide high power density[W/inch3] of the converter. However, the resonant voltage stress across the switch of the resonant tank circuit is 4∼5 times input voltage. This high voltage stress increases the conduction losses because of on-resistance of a MOSFET with higher rating. In this paper, the modeling analysis for the AT Forward MRC suggested to solve the these problems is discusses. The operational modes of the AT Forward MRC are divided to 8 equivalent modes according to the two switching sequences. Each mode analysis is covered using the equivalent circuits modeled over all of the paper. The operational principle of the resonant converter was verified through the experimental converter with 48[V] input voltage, 5[V]/50[W] output voltage/power and PSpice simulation. The measured maximum voltage, 5[V]/50[W] output voltage/power and PSpice simulation. The measure maximum voltage stress is 170[V] of 2.9 times the input voltage and the maximum efficiency is measured to 81.66%.
Module-based Modeling Method of
Phase-Controlled Rectifier System for DC Motor Drive under Matlab/Simulink environment

This paper presents the modeling method of
phase-controlled rectifier for the DC motor drive in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. This method has no need to extend the system mathematically and thus it's easy to integrate the various systems. The whole model consists of
phase-controlled rectifier block, DC motor block and speed/current controller block. The simulation results show that the model outputs are almost similar to those of the real system and therefore that the presented method is suitable for the research of the closed-loop controlled power electronic systems.
PTW Application Method for Analysis the Industrial Distribution System

In this paper PTW(Power Tools for Windows) application method for analysis the industrial distribution system is proposed. T&D(Transmission and Distribution) and BICC methods is applied for the cable impedance and the X/R of transformer data is estimated by IEEE standard. The effectiveness of this method was improved by the electrical characteristics analysis of the real industrial distribution system.
Vector Control using a Slip Angle Frequency for the Thrust Control of SLIM Used a Conveyor by the Inverter Based DSP

In this paper, the thrust control of PWM Inverter-fed SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) is achieved by vector control and PID control with DSP(TMS320C32). SLIM which used as a conveyor has required the quick response and the constant operating without air gap trembling while it conveys load.Thus, SLIM should have the smallest trembling of air gap length. First, voltage equations for SLIM are calculated from the proposed equivalent circuit in this peper, and not only the exciting current but also the thrust component are obtained from them. The thrust current ripple can be reduced by the vector controller using a slip angle frequency, and the PID controller is also use for the position control.
The Structures and Dielectric Properties of Plasma Polymerized Polyethylene

Plasma polymerized thin films were manufactured inter-electrode coupled plasma polymerization apparatus. The deposition rate reached its maximum between 40[W] and 100[W]. In the ESCA analysis, peaks revealing -CH2, -CH, -C- were present at 285.4 and 285.5[eV] respectively. The C=O peak at 532.8[eV] and the C-O peak at 533.8[eV], which were grouped with an unignorable amount of oxygen were conformed. In ESR analysis, the curve revealing strong amplification was in saturation, which was affected by weak power. This is considered as a -CH-Ch=Ch- structure containing the Allyl group. The relative permittivity of the plasma polymerized thin films was about 3.5 at a frequency of 100[Hz]∼200[kHz]. The dissipation factor showed allow value of 0.008.
The Development of CPLD Controller for Reducing Harmonics of 3 Phase Diode Rectifier

In this paper, CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device) controller designed with VHDL is developed. With the controller, the harmonics from 3 phase diode rectifier are suppressed and power factor is also improved. The input current of diode rectifier is drawn from the ac mains only during the period in the ac cycle when the instantaneous voltage is greater than the voltage across the dc-link capacitor. The three bidirectional switches rated at very small power are installed in a conventional three phase diode rectifier. Using CPLD controller, an idle current charges to capacitors continuously. Results of simulation and experimental demonstrate a reduction of harmonics, a improvement of power factor and THD.
A Study on the SVC System Stabilization Using a Neural Network

This paper deals with a systematic approach to neural network controller design for static VAR compensator (SVC) using a learning algorithm of error back propagation that accepts error and change of error as inputs, the momentum learning technique is used for reduction of learning time, to improve system stability. A SVC, one of the Flexible AC Transmission System(FACTS), constructed by a fixed capacitor(FC) and a thyristor controlled reactor(TCR), is designed and implemented to improve the damping of a synchronous generator, as well as controlling the system voltage.TO verify the robustness of the proposed method, we considered the dynamic response of generator rotor angle deviation, angular velocity deviation and generator terminal voltage by applying a power fluctuation and rotor angle fluctuation in initial point when heavy load and normal load. Thus, we prove the usefulness of proposed method to improve the stability of single machine-infinite bus with SVC system.
Reliability Assessment Considering PLOC and Unified Evaluation via Analytic Network Process

This paper describes the unified reliability evaluation with partial loss of continuity for Inchon international airport distribution system which is complex and difficult system to implement. To evaluate reliability considering line limitation and voltage drop of the system, PLOC technique which is based on deterministic evaluation technique and failure mode & effective analysis method is employed. And reliability indices calculation method is used. Finally, to evaluate the system performance and to improve the reliability of the system, Analytic network process method is employed. As a result, calculating accurate reliability, finding weak points, and expansion scheduling of the system is possible.
Implementation of Evolving Neural Network Controller for Inverted Pendulum System

The stabilization control of Inverted Pendulum(IP) system is difficult because of its nonlinearity and structural unstability. Futhermore, a series of conventional techniques such as the pole placement and the optimal control based on the local linearizations have narrow stabilizable regions. At the same time, the fine tunings of their gain parameters are also troublesome. Thus, in this paper, an Evolving Neural Network Controller(ENNC) which its structure and its connection weights are optimized simultaneously by Real Variable Elitist Genetic Algorithm(RVEGA) was presented for stabilization of an IP system with nonlinearity. This proposed ENNC was described by a simple genetic chromosome. And the deletion of neuron, the according to the various flag types. Therefore, the connection weights, its structure and the neuron types in the given ENNC can be optimized by the proposed evolution strategy. And the proposed ENNC was implemented successfully on the ADA-2310 data acquisition board and the 80586 microprocessor in order to stabilize the IP system. Through the simulation and experimental results, we showed that the finally acquired optimal ENNC was very useful in the stabilization control of IP system.
System Loss Improvement through Proper Location of Active and Reactive Power Apparatus

This paper presents a method for improving the power loss through optimal location of active or reactive power apparatus. The paper introduces the los sensitivities which imply the variation of the power loss with respect to the incremental bus power P, Q and uses them as the investment information for the active and reactive power apparatus. Power apparatus are invested, by the priority of loss sensitivities indices given for each bus.
A Study on the Analysis of Harmonics Reduction Effects Using Single-tuned Filters In a Power System Included Power Converters

The increasing use of non-linear loads such as power electronics draw highly distorted currents from the utility system. High harmonics currents and voltages will cause equipment damage and disturb the plant operation. The common solution to harmonics problem is to use harmonics filters. In this paper simulation results used the EDSA harmonics analysis program verifying the effects of the single-tuned filter for harmonic elimination are presented.
Current and Power Components Analysis of Instantaneous Power Theory Using MATLAB/SIMULINK

The instantaneous power theory have been considered as efficient theory in recent years, because it is easier to understand numerical representation and more soft to control PWM power converter on
stationary reference frame. From the forgoing theory, with regard to the calculating process of compensating reference current, there are many induced components of current/ power, and these components have consequently influence on physical interpretation of instantaneous power theory. Especially, beginners for studing the instantaneous power theory don't have enough informations for standard waveform of induced
components. Therefore, this paper describes simulation works using MATLAB/SIMULINK for
space trajectories and waveforms of
current and power components, induced from the instantaneous power theory. It is respected that the results in this paper are serviceable as basic information to assist beginner for studing the instantaneous power theory.
A Study on the Deterioration Diagnosis Device of Pole Transformer using FFT

This paper proposes on-line based a deterioration diagnosis device for diagnosis pole transformers using tan
and FFT(fast Fourier transform). We measured tan
and temperature to diagnose pole transformer insulating oil, diagnostic results are processed by FFT. For measuring convenience, we use R/F(radio frequency) wireless data communication module operating by secondary voltage of pole transformer. We have voltage variation test and oil temperature variation test to prove usability of proposed diagnosis device. The result of this paper shows that the proposed device can be used as deterioration diagnosis device of pole transformers.
