The Development of a High Efficiency Luminaires Reflector for Tunnel Lighting
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 1~6
Tunnel lighting in Korea has the problems of unsatisfactory illuminance uniformity which obstructs driver's vision, a flicker phenomenon on wall of tunnel, a heavy glare, low efficiency of luminaires, low utilization factor, and high energy consumption. We developed a high efficiency luminaire reflector for tunnel lighting which removes these problems. Developed luminaire saves energy and improves lighting environment by increasing 10% of luminaire efficiency. It can reduce installation cost by decreasing the number of luminaires, while average illuminance of 200[lx], overall uniformity of 0.4, longitudinal uniformity of 0.7, and electric power consumptions per unit area of 3.7[W/m
] are accomplished.

The Development of Model for the Prediction of Water Demand using Kalman Filter Adaptation Model in Large Distribution System
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 38~48
Kalman Filter model of demand for residental water and consumption pattern wore tested for their ability to explain the hourly residental demand for water in metro-politan distribution system. The daily residental demand can be obtained from Kalman Filter model which is optimized by statistical analysis of input variables. The hourly residental demand for water is calculated from the daily residental demand and consumption pattern. The consumption pattern which has 24 time rates is characterized by data granulization in accordance with season kind, weather and holiday. The proposed approach is applied to water distribution system of metropolitan areas in Korea and its effectiveness is checked.
A Study on ATO Control Pattern for Improving the Passenger's Comfort
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 49~56
This paper describes the improvement of passenger's comfort by analyzing the debasement of early adapted ATO control pattern. First we give the characteristics of ATO controller, principle of running control, distance & velocity calculation methods used mainly in INCHEON subway UNE 1 and then analyze the ATO control pattern. For early control pattern, we reviewed it in view of passenger's comfort while keeping the track conditions. In order to achieve the improvement of passenger's comfort we propose the modification of early ATO control pattern based on JERX characteristics. Simulation and application test are performed to prove the effectiveness of modified ATO control pattern.

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 57~63
This paper analysed the characteristic of Power consumption at many type of Inverter controlled Elevator. Especially, this paper proposed the standard value of full load currents. For this propose, it was classified by the passenger capacity and manufacture company. As a result, it is found that (i) the value is between -3[A] and 7[A] in case of elevator. That means the full load currents was smaller than the standard value of conventional operation type (ii) the value is between 0.5[kVA] and 3[kVA] in case of Power transformer. That means the transformer capacity was smaller than the standard value of conventional operation type. it was classified by the passenger capacity at inverter controlled elevator in apartment Also, to guarantee the operation stop of inverter controlled elevator, this paper proposed the redundancy method of electrical installations. the redundancy method is (i) 2 line service system and (ii) 2 distribution line system.
The Study on Forward ZVS MRC for Non-contact Charging Energy Transmission
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 64~72
In this paper, forward Zero Voltage Switching Multi Resonant Converter(ZVS MRC) for non-contact charging energy transmission is reposed. The forward ZVS MRC is effective in adsorbing parasitic element as well as minimizing the switching loss. That can accommodate very high frequency. So forward ZVC MRC is applied to non-contact charging energy transmission. Used converter has saperatable transformer and synchronous rectifiers. Coupling coefficient(k), leakage inductance, coupling inductance and resonant frequency are observed for the air gap. By using the observed value, this circuit is designed and implemented. This proposed circuit is simulated by the PSPICE and experimented. The voltage stress of a main switch and the output power of the converter are measured. This paper show that is compatible for non-contact charging energy transmission.

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 73~79
This paper describes the simple single phase air-conditioner of power factor correction (PFC) circuit. By adopting PFC in the rectifier, we can reduce harmonic into power line, improve the efficiency and lower the total system cost compared to conventional inviter only. Also, system performance is improved by stabilizing the output voltage of PFC. To improve the current waveform of diode rectifiers, we propose a new operating principle for the voltage diode rectifiers. A circuit design method is shown by experimentation and confirmed simulation. It explained that compared conventional pulse-width modulated (PWM) inverter with half pulse-width modulated (HPWM) inverter HPWM inverter. Proposed HPWM inverter eliminated dead-time by lowering switching loss and holding over-shooting.

Effects of the Position of Potential Probe on Ground Resistance Measurements Using the Fall-of-Potential Method
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, volume 15, issue 2, 2001, Pages 97~104
The effects of the position of potential probe on the measurements of the ground resistance in the fa11-of-potential method are described. The ground resistance is theoretically calculated by applying the 61.8[%] rule, and then the potential probe is located on the straight line between the grounding electrode to be measured and the current probe. However, sometimes the grounding electrode to be measured and the measuring potential and current probes in on-site test might not be arranged on the straight line with adequate distance because there are building, roadblock construction and other establishments. Provided that the grounding electrode to be measured and the measuring potential probes are out of position on the straight line, the measurement of the ground resistance classically falls into an error and the measured ground resistance should be corrected. In this work, measurements were focused on the grounding electrode system made by the ground rods of 2.4 m long. The measuring error was increased with increasing the angle which is made by the 3-points of the grounding electrode to be measured, the potential anti current probes, and it was a negative. That is, all of the measured ground resistances ware less than the true ground resistance.
