A Study on the Characteristics of Space Charge for the Plasma Display

To analyze the driving principle of PDP, the influence on the discharge characteristics of space charge was researched. Space charge generated by the priming discharge shortens delay time of the discharge which happens as follows and shorts response time. Such influences are valid up to about 30㎲ after generating priming discharge. This space charge decreases dicharge ignition voltage of the cell near priming cell and the influences are most greatly alerted on the discharge of cell which is adjacent most. And the dependency to spare charge strengthens because discharge ignition voltage drop grows by narrowing of discharge pulse width. But the influence on space charge was observed very slightly in pulse width 1㎲ or more. Therefore, to cause a steady discharge, pulse width should become 1㎲ or more at least without being influenced for space charge of the adjoining discharge.
Reduction of Acoustic Resonance Phenomena in Pulse Start MetalHalide Lamp (MH200W)

MetalHalid lamps have good efficiency, good color rendition and good focusing capability. But the shortcoming of metalhalid lamps is blown as acoustic resonance phenomena in the arc tube. Such acoustic resonance produce annoying fluctuations in the intensity and distribution of the emitted light, they can raise the voltage to the point where the arc is extinguished and they can move the arc close enough to the wall to cause local overheating and tube cracking. The objective of this research is to reduce acoustic resonance in the arc tube of the Pulse Start MetaIHaide lamp(MH200[W]). To reduce the acoustic resonance phenomena the electronic ballast was designed for high frequency operation with the constant frequency sinusoidal wave of 89[kHz] in the 84.6[kHz]∼94.2[kHz] range. Experimental results show that the acoustic resonance phenomena are not in the arc tube of Pulse Start MetalHalide lamp (MH200[W]) .
A Modelling and Analysis of SSSC and UPFC in Static Analysis of Power Systems

This paper presents an modelling and analysis of SSSC and UPFC in static analysis of power systems. SSSC is used to control active power flow in transmission lines by controlling the phase angle of the injected voltage source which is in rectangular to the line current. UPEC is used to control the magnitude and phase of the injected voltage sources which are connected both in series and in parallel with the transmission line to control power flow and bus voltage. To compare the effect of SSSC and UPFC in power system static analysis, the PSS/E simulation program is used. As the FACTS device model such as SSSC and UPFC is not provided in PSS/E yet, an equivalent load model is used. This procedure is implemented by IPLAN which is an external macro program of PSS/E. The simulation results show that UPFC is more effective to improve bus voltage than SSSC in power system static analysis.
Design of Inner Section Displacement Measurement System Using Multiple Node Networks

In this paper, we design tunnel inner section displacement measurement system which is composed of potentiometer-type displacement sensors, microcontroller-based intelligent sensing head and host computer for the management system and acquisition data. Multiple node communication bus connects the intelligent sensing heads with the host computer. For safe and re1iab1e network operation we use daisy-chain configuration, termination resistor, fail-safe biasing circuit. For tole enhancement of system utilization, we use modbus protocol. The acquisition data are transmitted to host computer and managed by database. Several data request conditions and sorting conditions are provided by management software. The utilization of designed system is confirmed by experiment.
The Power Conversion System of a Sterilizer Processing for the Long Term Storage of Flours

There are several electricity applied sterilizers such as using high frequency, ozone, high voltage, and so on. Those sterilizers feature "because of no chemical process and no secondly environmental pollution". At the power conversion part, ZVS and ZCS methods have been used that it results in reduced switching loss, miniaturized size, and lightened weight. Besides, the current in the propose device is smaller than that of existing method. Thus, it is expected that the cost of sterilization process, when quality of the device is measured by power consumption, will be reduce. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to solve the sterilization problems of existing powder with high voltage and field to and more economical and effective way, and to suggest mere improved sterilizer.
Daily peak load forecasting considering the load trend and temperature

Since daily peak load forecasted data are essential to economic operation and power monitor, the technique of accurate forecasting is needled. The chief advantage of forecasting technique using neural network and fuzzy theory is high accuracy and operative implicity but the loaming time is long, and it makes large forecasting error when the load changes rapidly. This paper has resented a new forecasting technique to improve those faults and the forecasting technique prove to be valid by forcasted results.
Design of the Ground Resistance Measuring System using high Performance Filter System

This paper represents the design of the ground resistance measuring system insensitive to the noise in the earth. Generally, conventional ground resistance measuring instruments may fail to give a precise values for ground resistance under the situations where there is a high ground potential produced by unbalanced power system currents, haromonic currents and noise etc. To make up the defect of conventional ground resistance measuring instruments, in this paper the ground resistance measuring system using high-performance L-C resonant filter and digital signal processor is designed and the insentivity of the designed ground resistance measuring system for noise in the earth is verified by field test on power service and off power service.
A Study on PFC of Active Clamp ZVS Flyback Converter

This paper analyzed PFC of active clamp ZVS flybark converter by adding two method PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit-two-stage and single-stage. The addition of active clamp circuit also provide a mechanism fur achieving ZVS of both the primary and auxiliary switches. ZVS also limits the turn off di/dt of the output rectifier, reducing rectifier switching loss and switching noise, due to diode reverse recovery. As a results, the proposed converters have characteristics of the reduced switching noise and high efficiency in comparison to conventional flyback converter. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed converters improve the input PF of 300[W] ZVS flyback converter by adding single-stage two-stage PFC circuit.
A study on the development of LVI tester and applying the winding deformation of transformers with this tester

This paper is described about design and manufacture of the LVI tester and the model transformer. And we develope the analysis technology of the LVI test with using the developed LVI tester and the model transformer. The LVI tester is consisted of a main body, terminal boxes and cables. It is estimated that the tester has output characteristic to match ANSI specification. The winding deformation models are made of model transformer having tapes and we discuss about the analysis technology of LVI test using the tester and the model transformer.
Robust Double Deadbeat Control of Single-Phase UPS Inverter

This paper deals with a novel full digital control of the single-phase PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) inviter for UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supp1y). The voltage and current of output filter capacitor as a state variable are the feedback control input. In the proposed scheme a double deadbeat control consisting of minor current control loop and major voltage control loop have been developed In addition, a second order deadbeat currents control which should be exactly equal to its reference in two sampling time without error and overshoot is proposed to remove the influence of the calculation time delay. The load current prediction is achieved to compensate the load disturbance. The simulation and experimental result shows that the proposed system offers an output voltage with THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) less than 5% at a full nonlinear load.
A Study on State Analysis of Heat Exchange between Counter-Flow Fluid via Fast Walsh Transform

This study uses the distributed parameter systems resented by the spatial discretization technique. In this paper, the distributed parameter systems are converted into lumped parameter systems, End fast Walsh transform and the Picard's iteration method are allied to analysis the state of the systems. This thesis presents a new algorithm which usefully exercises the optimal contro1 in the distributed parameter systems. In exercising the optimal control of the distributed parameter systems, the excellent consequences are found without using the existing decentralized contro1 or hierarchical control method. This study can be applied to the linear time-varying systems and the non-linear systems. Farther researches are required to solve the problems of convergence in case of the numerous applicable intervals. The simulation proves the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
Identification of Time-invariant Parameters of Distributed Systems via Extended Block Pulse Operational Matrices

This paper considers the problem of the identification of the time invariant parameters of distributed systems. In general, the parameters are identified by using the CBPOM(Conventional Block Pulse Operational Matrices), but in this paper, the parameters ard identified by using the EBPOMS(Extended Block Pulse Operational Matrices) which can reduce the burden of operation md the volume of error caused by matrices multiplication. The simulation cloves the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper presents a decision making technique of reasonable
quantity needed to resolve organic matter via microbe in wastewater treatment. Decision making system of inferring reasonable
quantity consists of three parts. The first part is to compute reasonable
quantity with given process data. The second part is to find output features of processed wastewater using process model when
quantity is changed to a value inferred from decision making system. The third part is to show the results of decision making system. In order to verify performance of proposed decision making system computer simulation was done with process data gathered during 40 days. Simulation result shows that
quantity can be reduced over 10% under the condition of satisfying the specifications for processed wastewater.
Optimal Design of a Linear DC Motor using Statistc Method

This paper is concerned with optimal design of a linear DC motor which is steading fast in OA and FA systems due to simplicity in structure high-speed operation and high-precision positioning. The approach is based on the statistic method. In this study, firstly, we determine factors that affect significantly the objective function using 2-level factorial design. And then the Response Surface Methodology was app1ied to optimize these factors. Through this application design factors could be optimized within a short term and low experimental cost.
Discharge and Ozone Generation Characteristics of a Co-axial Cylinder Type Ozonizer in Accordance with Varying Discharge Gap

Recently, ozone is utilized in various fields and its needs are expanding. Therefore, so many ozone generation methods have been reported in the last year, its main purpose is to get the high ozone concentration and to improve the ozone yield one of them is a Co-axial cylinder-type ozonizer. In this paper, a new ozonizer, which is using radio-frequency power supply, is fabricated to investigate discharge characteristics and ozone generation characteristics in accordance wish variation of grip spacing of electrodes.
