A Experimental Study the Wall Lighting focus on Rate of Illuminance : in case of fluorescent lamp and hallogen lamp

This experimental study investigates the wall display of shoes shops among the commercial space to suggest a desirable lighting by focusing on the lighting on the lighting surroundings. The important outcomes of this study are summarized below. The result of the experiment for the wall lighting: For the wall lighting, which needs a diversity, there should be various light source or bigger rate of illuminance between the ambient lighting and the local lighting. There is another possibility that is we can use the lower rate of illuminance with the ambient lighting and the local lighting or higher illuminance generally. The other wall lighting, which need a luminance and a emotional response, will be more effective as they take the lower rate of illuminance with the ambient lighting and the local lighting or higher illuminance generally.
Improvement of color mixing in an RGB lamp using tilled lenses

This paper presents a method of improvement of color mixing in an RGB LED white lamp. The deviation from white light after RGB color mixing results mainly from the difference in the ray direction among LEDs. The authors propose a method using tilted lenses covered over each LED to deflect the overall direction of the ray generated from far-sited LEDs toward the center axis of the lamp. The degree of improvement is evaulated using a color discrimination method based on McAdam ellipse.

SPSA Approach to Image Reconstruction in Electrical Impedance Tomograhpy

In EIT, various image reconstruction algorithms have been used in order to compute the internal resistivity distribution of the unknown object with its electric potential data at the boundary. Mathematically the EIT image reconstruction algorithm is a nonlinear ill-posed inverse problem. In this paper, a SPSA approach is proposed for the solution of the EIT image reconstruction. Results of numerical experiments of EIT solved by the SPSA approach are presented and compared to that obtained by the modified Newton-Raphson(mNR) method.
Two-pupil synthesis of optical transfer function in the modified triangular interferometer

We synthesizd and analyzed the optical transfer function(OTF) of the modified triangular interferometer(MTI) using two-pupil synthesis method. In the case of MTI, we demonstrated that we can obtain bipolar functions and complex hologram without bias by two-pupil synthesis method.
Frequency Distribution of Mechanical Noise Signals for Ultrasonic Wave and AE Sensor with Brush Spark of DC Motor

In this paper, the frequency spectra from respective mechanical noise signals detected using ultrasonic wave and AE(Acoustic Emission) sensor were analysed to under spark generation between brush and commutator side with arbitrarily 15
rotation for brush from the DC motor in operation. Also, the frequency spectra from respective magnetizing noise signals detected using ultrasonic wave and AE sensor were analysed to under neutral point for brush from the DC motor in normal operation. And the analyses and comparison between the mechanical noise signal and magnetizing noise signal of ultrasonic wave with brush location change from the DC motor in operation. As the experimental results, tile mechanical noise signal of ultrasonic wave under spark generation between brush and commutator side with brush location change from the DC motor in operation were increased about 2.5∼3.0 times than magnetizing noise signal of ultrasonic wave form the DC motor in normal operation. Also, the main frequency band for mechanical noise signals of AE under spark generation between brush and commutator side with brush location change from the DC motor in operation, appeared about 1.3[MHz]∼l.5[MHz] by the fast fourier transform.
Characteristics of Water Surface Discharge due to Water Conductivity

A silent type ozone generator using water surface electrode was proposed. And it was investigated experimentally that a variation of water conductivity affected to water surface discharge. Important factors affecting to water surface discharge are ions in discharge space and ions and polarized molecules in water and so on. In this study, It was intended to change the characteristics of discharge by controlling the number of ions in water. The number of ions in water could be controlled by changing the water conductivity. Water conductivity was controlled by quantity of inserted NaCl to distilled water. At this time, current-voltage characteristics and characteristics of ozone generation quantity were investigated in each case. As a result, when NaCl was inserted in distilled water, more stable discharge was generated. As the quantity of NaCl was increased, discharge starting voltage could be lowered.
The Control Parameter Estimation for Model Mismatch of Plant′s PPI Controller

In process control, PPl controller including smith predictor was proposed for efficient control method because of the weak performance by the effect of long dead-time. But PPI controller can not guarantee of control performance at real plant because of sensitivity to model mismatch. Thus, In this paper, we presented new control parameter estimation strategy for compensating of model mismatch. The proposed startegy obtained useful result through various cases.
Development of the Expert System for Diagnosing Silicone Oil-filled Transformer

In this paper, the diagnostic expert system for silicone oil-filled transformer is developed using dissolved gas analysis(DGA). There are many diagnostic methods for diagnostic oil-immersed transformer. But DGA is used to the proposed expert system since it has been verified that DGA is very efficient diagnostic method for transformer. In addition, it is resonable that fuzzy rule, degree of inclusion and fuzzy measure must be considered to handle the uncertainty nature of gas boundary and rules. The proposed expert system consists of knowledge base module, inference engine module and human-machine interface(HMI) module. The knowledge base module consists of the knowledge using the rule. The inference engine module is used to the fuzzy rule. The history of the transformer gas data is managed by the database. the effect of the proposed expert system is verified by case studies.
New application of Neural Network for DC motor speed control

We know that Neural Network is in use in many control fields. In time of using as controller, Neural Network controller is needed to learning by Input-output pattern. But in many times of control field. we can not get Input-output pattern of Neural Network controller. As a method solving this problem, in this paper, we try New control method that output node of Neural Network bringing control object. Such a New control method application, we can solve the data taking problem to Neural Network controller Input-output. The effectiveness of proposed control algorithm is verified by simulation results of DC servo motor.
A novel hybrid multilevel inverter using DC-Link voltage combination

This paper presents a novel hybrid multilevel inverter using DC-Link voltage combination in order to improve the waveshape of output voltage and reduce harmonics. The proposed multilevel inverter can generate an 11-level output voltage. It employs three H-bridge cell, which consists of single phase full-bridge inverter module. Among them, two modules are used for level generation, and one module performs PWM switching. Nine levels are synthesised by the level inverter, and two levels are added to output by the PWM inverter. As a result, it generates an 11-level. The operational principles are explained in depth, and the validity of the proposed system is verified through the PSpice simulation and experimental results based on a prototype.
The Experimental Consideration of ZVT-PWM AC-DC Converter using Active Auxiliary Resonant Snubber

Zero Voltage Transition Pulse Width Modulation (ZVT-PWM) converter with active snubber circuit was proposed on this paper. The converter that has been proposed snubber circuit can be operated at the condition of light load range, and this converter is turned on and off near by Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) or Zero Current Switching (ZCS). If the stress of voltage and current are not occurred at the main switch and main diode, we subjected the allowed level of voltage and current on the auxiliary switch and auxiliary diodes. By proposed 750[W], 80[KHz] PWM boost converter to apply soft switching on the power of total output, the loss of main switch to compare with hard switching was reduced about 27[％], and the loss of total circuit was reduced about 36[％]. The total efficiency was increased about 6[％] to compare with general converter.
A Study on the Efficiency Improvement of Two Transistor Forward Converter using Synchronous Rectifier

This paper presents the TTFC(Two Transistor Forward Converter) using Synchronous Rectifier. The two transistor forward circuit is used to decrease voltage stress of primary side and the synchronous rectifier is used to reduce current stress of secondary side. This paper compared with diode rectifier and synchronous rectifier of two transistor forward converter. The principle of operation, feature and design considerations are illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 200W 100KHz MOSFET based experimental circuit.
REffects of Surge Protective Devices with Respect to Types of System Grounding and Wiring Methods

High speed info-communications equipment are required with development of highly information-oriented society, the intelligent industrial facilities and social systems such as administrative, financial and traffic systems, are gradually becoming to automation, which are composed of the integrated circuits and micro-semiconductors, remote control and operation. Thus modern micro-electronic circuits can frequently be damaged by lightning surge. The protection of electronic circuits from lightning overvoltages is concentrated very interesting. In this paper, for the purpose of providing the effective protection method of electronic devices such micro-computers from lightning surges in a residential building, the protection effect of surge protective devices according to types of system groundings were experimentally analyzed. Also the effective installation method of surge protective devices was examined and proposed. The installation of SPDs in retrofits was a high remnant voltage across the protected device owing to the inductance in the long wires to the SPDs. Finally the method of installing the SPD by twisted pain wires is remarkably effective for fast rising transient overvoltages.
A Study on the Modeling and Characteristic Comparison of Three-Level Converter and Full-Bridge Converter for the Loss Analysis

This paper presents the loss and characteristic comparison with Three-Level Converter and Full-Bridge Converter. In previous paper, Three-Level Converter was more suitable than Full-Bridge Converter for high voltage application because switch voltage stress was decreased. The comparative study of loss analyses, soft-switching range and efficiency-characteristic of Three-Level Converter and full-Bridge Converter are rare. This paper shows the main reason of efficiency-diminution compares Three-Level Converter with and Full-Bridge Converter. Also, the loss analysis of each component and the various losses in the circuit are assessed in this paper. The result of the analysis is verified with 2.5[㎾] prototype.
Analysis of Serial Piston Actuator on the Dynamic Characteristics by Electromechanical Energy Conversion

This paper deals with the dynamic characteristic analysis of linear actuator(LA) considered with coupling of mechanical spring system This application of linear actuator is increasing due to simple mechanical structure, a high efficiency, and a stable motional action. This paper proposed and analyzed the Serial Piston Actuator(SPA) by using mechanical spring system coupled with linear actuator through the simplified structure which was verified practical experiments.
The Vibration Characteristic Improvement by Mode Variation of Ring Type Ultrasonic Motor

This paper suggested the vibration characteristic improvement by variation mode of ring type ultrasonic motor. Design for the piezoelectric ceramic and elastic body of stator were calculated by the finite element method(FEM) that consider the resonance frequency, vibration mode and coupling efficiency etc. Through the result of vibration analysis from 6 order mode to 8 mode, the 7 order mode was gained very an excellent results that it was the coupling efficient, minimum power loss and bending vibration value. Here over 7 order mode, was acquired that an output current for input voltage was very a large increased results. The result of vibration calculation, from thickness 0.5[mm] to 2[mm], know the fact that the vibration displacement at 0.5[mm] is an high value too. From such analysis result, this paper was manufactured the ultrasonic motor of outer diameter 50[mm], inter 22[mm] having the about 43.86[KHz] resonance frequency. We have gated that a simulation result is 42.2[KHz] and an experiment result is 43.86[KHz]. Then, a propriety of this paper was established the result almost similar to though comparison, investigation of simulation and experiment result.
An Evaluation of Weather Model for Increasing Ampacity in KEPCO`s Overhead Transmission Lines

The new deregulated economic environment in the power utility market is forcing fundamental changes in the investment and operational decisions regarding transmission lines. Hence, it has come to be an important issue to evaluate their current utility in order to increase conductor ampacity based on conservative assumptions of worst case weather conditions. Static thermal rating has born still applied in most power companies worldwide, however some of them have been done various trials such as monitoring dynamic line ratings to increase line ratings in real time. This study is an attempt to access the static line ratings in Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) transmission lines, which were specified by weather model. Several environmental performances for determining static line ratings are examined by using the past weather data of Korean Meteorological Administration. As a result, it is shown that seasonal or regional line ratings could be adopt to the KEPCO`s transmission lines, and their line ratings could be more increased without refurbishing current conductors in service to new high-temperature ones.
Polarimetric fiber-optic current sensor system using a twisted fiber sensing coil

We developed a polarimetric fiber-optic current sensor system for protective relaying usage. A fiber sensing coil that consisted of a length of twisted fiber and a FRM (Faraday rotator mirror) was used in order to suppress the linear birefringence effect. From the experiments with various sensing coil configurations and environmental conditions, the proposed current sensor system showed feasibility of suppressing environmental noises, and the obtained measurement stability was less than
3％ at rated primary current.
Neural Network Controller of A Grid-Connected Wind Energy Conversion System for Maximum Power Extraction

This paper presents a neural network controller of a grid-connected wind energy conversion system for extracting maximum power from wind and a power controller to transfer the maximum power extracted into a utility grid. It discusses the modeling and simulation of the wind energy conversion system with the controllers, which consists of an induction generator, a transformer, a link of a rectifier, and an inverter. The paper describes tile drive train model, induction generator model and grid-interface model for dynamics analysis. Maximum power extraction is achieved by controlling the pitch angle of the rotor blades by a neural network controller. Pitch control method is mechanically complicated, but the control performance is better than that of the stall regulation. The simulation results performed on MATLAB show the variation of the generator torque, the generator rotor speed, the pitch angle, and real/reactive power injected into the grid, etc. Based on the simulation results, the effectiveness of the proposed controllers is verified.
A Study on the Sterling Characteristics for Capacitor-run Single Phase Permanent Magent Synchronous Motor

Although permanent magnet single phase synchronous motor which starts and runs through single phase voltage source has high efficiency, it is difficult to determine the rotating direction. In this paper, the starting characteristics of the capacitor-run single phase synchronous motor has been studied. The stator has same structure with the capacitor-run single phase induction motor, however the rotor consists of permanent magnet. In this case, the starting conditions according to the rotor and stator conditions are determined and the direction of the motor can be determined. From these results, it is desired that the proposed motor can be applied to the loads like the fans which has low starting torque.
Realization of the Information Visualization of Electric Power Monitoring System for MV/LV Distribution Customers

Recently, switchboards for MV/LV distribution customers have been united and digitalized rapidly. This paper suggestes the effective information visualization method for the data mesured from cubicle switchboard for MV/LV distribution customers. We developed the algorithm that analyzes a large number of mesured data and displays them to users overall, such as fire index, power condition index, switchboard safety index, and power diminution index. Using a touch screen made users to operate it easily. User interface was also strengthened by taking graph visualization. We guess the information visualiztion method suggested in this paper shows the new direction that heavy electrical equipments including switchboards are going to develop in the future.
