A Study of Luminous Environment for Standard Illuminance in Residential Areas

Light is an important environmental element for people to live and do creative activities in residential areas. Especially, people are used to live under artificial light in artificial interior surroundings for the most times. Currently, the lighting quality of residential areas has been improved, but it still does not reach to the recommended level because the luminous environment of present residential areas is only based on the life behavior which puts its priority to clear vision. Therefore, it is necessary that proper standard illumination must be used for various uses and purposes. From this point of view, this paper investigated the essence of light in residential areas, and the luminous environment for apartments was measured This paper finally established well-coordinated standard illuminance, derived from the measurement and analysis of luminous environment from these cases.
The Design and Implementation of Inverter Power Supply with FGS for Sulfur Lamp

This paper suggested the sulfur lamp power supply using Fuzzy Gain Scheduling(FGS), which was designed and confirmed the performance through manufacturing. it was based on Series Resonant Half Bridge Inverter(SRHBI), so that was applied Pulse Frequency Modulation(PFM), Zero Voltage Switching(ZVS), soft switching and soft start for input power variation and output power compensation. In order to get the lengthened life time of magnetron and stabilized output or power, power ratter and efficiency were improved by fuzzy gain algorism. It also made it possible to get not the existing foxed output power but continuous variable output power
. The manufactured power supply showed good results in input power
with stabilized output of power, luminous efficiency 97[1m/W] and power factor

The random pulse width modulation(RPWM) in inverter-fed induction motor drive is presented. This paper describes a RPWM method based on space vector PWM strategy for shaping the switching noise spectrum in such a way it can merge with the natural system noise. To verify the validity of the proposed RPWM scheme, the experiment based on the DSP56F803 microprocessor was executed finally, the simulation and experimental results will be given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the unposed RPWM scheme.
A Study on DC Changing Algorithm of the Line-Interactive UPS with Dual Converter Structure

This paper presents a three phase Line-Interactive uninterruptible power supply(UPS) system with dual converter structure. The three phase UPS system consists of two active power compensator topologies. One is a series active compensator, which works as a voltage source in phase with the source voltage to have the sinusoidal source current and high power factor under the deviation and distortion of the source voltage. The other is a parallel active compensator, which works as a conventional sinusoidal voltage source in phase with the source voltage, providing to the load a regulated and sinusoidal voltage with low total harmonic distortion(THD). This paper presents in the series and parallel active compensator charging method depending on the amplitude of the source voltage. The conventional Line-Interactive UPS system is responsible for the DC charging and output voltage regulation at the same time, but UPS system with dual converter structure, a series active compensator can also charge the DC link. Therefore the charging algorithm using the series and parallel compensator needs to be researched. Therefore, by making the DC link voltage stable it can contribute the stability of series and parallel compensator. The simulation and experimental result are depicted in this paper to show the effect of the proposed algorithm.
Improved instantaneous Following Control Function for High Power Factor PWM Matrix Converter

Matrix converters have been studied for eliminating dc link of conventional converter-inverter system, and various undulation strategy have been proposed. Therefore, matrix converter have no energy storage component except for small ac later for the elimination of switching ripple, and can be made compact and highly reliable compare with the do link inverter system. Matrix converter, however, directly connected the input and the output terminals by bidirectional static switch. As a result if the input voltage are asymmetrical, and contain harmonics, the influence of the distortions directly appear on the output terminal. This problem is a major obstacle to the matrix converter. A new control method using average comparison strategy have been proposed in this paper. This control method realizes sinusoidal input and output current unity input displacement factor regardless of load power factor. Moreover, compensation of the asymmetrical and/or harmonic containing input voltage is automatically realized, and calculation time of control function is reduced.
Discharge Luminous Phenomena Caused Between ZnO Surge Arrester Block and Electrodes

This paper deals with the characteristics and reduction methods of the plasma luminosity caused between the ZnO surge arrester block and metal electrodes. In this study, the impulse current generator that can generate
impulse currents with a peak short-circuit of 10[kA] is designed and fabricated. Plasma luminosity phenomena for fine and used ZnO blocks were observed as a function of the contact states between the ZnO block and electrodes and the polarity of applied impulse voltages. As a result, discharge luminous events are produced near the contact edges between the ZnO block and metal electrodes. The discharge plasma luminosity between the ZnO surge arrester block and low potential electrode is more intensive than that between the ZnO surge arrester block and high potential electrode. Surface flashover of ZnO blocks are mainly caused by plasma generation near the edge of metal electrode. Also, plasma luminosity for the fine ZnO blocks is less than that for the used ZnO blocks. Plasma luminosity at the contact of the ZnO block and ring-type electrode is more intensive than that at the contact of ZnO block and disk electrode. It is desirable to use the disk electrode with the proper contact area to reduce the plasma luminosity caused at the contact point between the ZnO block and electrodes.
Ground Resistance Measurement Technology Utilizing the Variation Rate

Ground resistance measurement is an elementary technique for the evaluation of grounding system. There are main environmental factors to consider for correct measurement, but the problem is that it is practically most cases to measure ground resistance unable to know the factors. This paper presents a methodology toward true value of resistance in the unknown circumstance, utilizing the defined term, `variation rate` of potential difference curve appearing in the distance to a current probe as in the three point fall-of-potential method which comprises the characteristics of environmental factors. This methodology is a induced result from the previous demostrated studies.
An Improved Method for Mesh Grounding System Using Spaced Arrangement of Grounding Conductor

No matter how well the equally spaced grounding grid is designed, there we questions keep rising, such as leakage of current from comer conductor, high voltage of touch voltage in comers of grid than in center, and high material cost for grounding grid. The best-fitted design for unequally spaced grounding grid is a part that must be considered. Explain advantages of unequally spaced grounding grid and lead formula by dividing the number of grid division, j, into 20, instead of 7. Then, present Dij, which is optimum rate for unequally spaced grounding grid and verify safety and economy of the unequally spaced grounding grid by computer simulation with a poly-nominal function form.
Development of Speed Control System for SPMSM with Direct Torque Control

This paper presents an implementation of digital servo speed control system of SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) for industrial application with Direct Torque Control(DTC) using TMS320F2812 DSP. Although, the vector control scheme is adapted in many industrial servo system, but the DSP calculation ratio is increased by reference frame transformation and SVPWM of vector control. Therefore, this paper investigate the possibility of DTC scheme for industrial servo drive system instead of vector control scheme. DSP calculation ratio is compared between vector control and DTC algorithm in addition to the characteristic of speed control response. The suggested SPMSM control system shows the possibility of DTC scheme for industrial servo motor drive system instead of a vector control algorithm.
Fault Diagnosis of Voltage-Fed Inverters Using Pattern Recognition Techniques for Induction Motor Drive

Since an unexpected fault of induction motor drive systems can cause serious troubles in many industrial applications, which the technique is required to diagnose faults of a voltage-fed PWM inverter for induction motor drives. The considered fault types are rectifier diodes, switching devices and input terminals with open-circuit faults, and the signal for diagnosis is derived from motor currents. The magnitude of dq-current trajectory is used for the feature extraction of a fault and PCA LDA are applied to diagnose. Also, we show results with respect to the execution time because of the possibility to use that a diagnosis software is embedded in the controllers of medium and small size induction motors drive for real-time diagnosis. After we performed various simulations for the fault diagnosis of the inverter, the usefulness of proposed algerian was verified.
The Design of the Fuzzy Logic Controller for Controlling the Speed in the Zero-Crossing Speed Region of a Hydraulic System

Due to the friction characteristic of pump, cylinder, and between passenger car and the rail, there exist dead zone in the hydraulic system actuated with inverter, which can not be controlled by a PID controller. In this paper, the friction characteristic of a cylinder is considered first, which may cause the uncontrolled speed in the zero-crossing speed region. And then, the zooming fuzzy logic controller is designed to overcome the drawback by the existing PID speed controller. Finally, The proposed hybrid fuzzy controller is applied to the PID controller in the normal speed region and to the fuzzy controller in the zero-crossing speed region. The reason is that the problem of the uncontrolled speed in the zero-crossing speed region caused by the friction characteristic of the cylinder in hydraulic elevator can be solved, and the effectiveness of the controlling system not only in the zero-crossing speed region but also the overall controlling region including steady-state can be simulated and performed.
A New Current Source Modeling of Silicon Bipolar Transistor for Wireless Transceiver Module

Silicon bipolar transistors (Si-BJT) are widely used in the telecommunication system such as short range wireless control and wireless indoor voice communication system. New modeling method for the internal current source model of Si-BJT is proposed. The proposed method based on new thermal resistance extraction method and new analytical expressions for the current source parameters of Si-BJT. The proposed method can directly extract the model parameters without any optimization procedure which is adopted in the conventional modeling method. The proposed method is applied to 5 finger
and the model shows good prediction of the measured data in
of errors proving the validity of this method.
Analysis of Characteristics of Residential Distribution Line for Design of Power Line Communication Systems

This paper describes the measurement and analysis of the basic line constants in PLC(Power Line Communication) in the residential building. An apartment is considered as one of the conventional residences to get the line constants in this paper, Agilent 4263B LCR Meter is used to measure the detailed values each area and the specific results and averaged analysis data are shown in the tables. The measured results are a little bit different from the calculated values using conventional formula due to the line arrangement, neglected factors, complex permittivity, and etc. This paper describes many kinds of lines and wiring figures of domestic construction. It can be utilized with the analyzed line characteristics in frequency domain as a planning reference of PLC.
Study On Design of Encoding Module for PLC input

Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) is the most widely utilized among many sorts of existing controller for the design of factory automation control system, and study about a PLC language is peformed actively. In this paper, we proposed the encoding module that we increase input points when increased of the input machine which is going to control it in the FA design that used PLC. Input point is going to be extended with 2-3 points in the state that cannot equip input unit in basic base any more. Then an extension base, a power supply, an extension cable and an output nit must be equipped particularly. Then a cost must be added very much. This paper proposed the encoding module which extended an input in a small quantity, and we confirmed a feasibility through a simulation.
Recommended Practice for o Reasonable Design Demand Factor and Analysis of Power Consumption Characteristics by Loads in Office Buildings

It is increased electrical energy consumption with the development of intelligence society in the once buildings and thus an energy conservation through efficient use of electricity became more important. This paper shows a reasonable design demand factor in office buildings, that was made by the systematic and statistical way considering actual conditions, such as investigated electric equipment capacity, peak power consumption, demand factor, etc., for 54 office buildings and 34 electrical design offices. In this dissertation it is necessary to analyse the key features and general trend from the investigated data. It made an analysis of the feature parameters, such as average, standard deviation, median, maximum, minimum and thus it was carried the linear and nonlinear regression analysis.
A Comparison of Image Reconstruction Techniques for Electrical Resistance Tomography

Electrical resistance tomography(ERT) maps resistivity values of the soil subsurface and characterizes buried objects. The characterization includes location, size and resistivity of buried objects. In this paper, Gauss-Newton, truncated least squares(TLS) and simultaneous iterative reconstruction technique(SIRT) methods are presented for the solution of the ERT image reconstruction. Computer simulations show that the spatial resolution of the reconstructed images by the TLS approach is improved as compared to those obtained by the Gauss-Newton and SIRT method.

Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) is the most widely utilized and plays an important role in industrial control system. The study about a PLC language is performed actively. Ladder Diagram(ID) is the most widely used in PLC. In is not suitable for describing a complex sequential logic and is very difficult to grasp the sequential flow of control logic and has the disadvantage for a maintenance. On the other hand, Sequential Function Chart(SFC) is very easy to grasp the sequential flow of control logic and has the compatability for a maintenance but has the disadvantage for describing a condition and a interlock logic. In this paper, we propose the method that describe the interlock logic using management step, and confirm his feasibility through a actual examples.
