Building Energy Savings due to Incorporated Daylight-Glazing Systems

The quantity of light available for a space can be translated in term of the amount of energy savings through a process of a building energy simulation. To get significant energy savings in general illumination, the electric lighting system must be incorporated with a daylight - activated dimmer control. A prototype configuration of an once interior has been established and the integration between the building envelope and lighting and HVAC systems is evaluated based on computer modeling of a lighting control facility. First of all, an energy-efficient luminaire system is designed and the lighting analysis program, Lumen-Micro 2000 predicts the optimal layout of a conventional fluorescent lighting future to meet the designed lighting level and calculates unit power density, which translates the demanded met of electric lighting energy. A dimming control system integrated with the contribution of daylighting has been applied to the operating of the artificial lighting. Annual cooling load due to lighting and the projecting saving amount of cooling load due to daylighting under overcast diffuse sky m evaluated by computer software ENER-Win. In brief, the results from building energy simulation with measured daylight illumination levels and the performance of lighting control system indicate that daylighting can save over 70 percent of the required energy for general illumination in the perimeter zones through the year A 25[%] of electric energy for cooling and almost all off heating energy may be saved by dimming and turning off the luminaires in the perimeter zones.
Discharge Characteristics of Logic Gate for Discharge Logic Gate Plasma Display Panel

In this research the discharge characteristics of logic gate of the discharge logic gate plasma display panel with the NOT-AND logic function newly designed was analyzed. As for this discharge logic gate a logical output is induced by controlling the voltage between the electrodes using the discharge path. From the experimental result the discharge characteristics of logic gate is influenced by the interrelation of the voltages appling two vertical electrodes. To in the application possibility to large screen PDP, the discharge characteristics by the line resistance of the electrode was evaluated In result it has been inferred that the influence which the drop of voltage by the line resistance of two vertical electrodes exerts on the discharge of the logic gate is minute. Through the experiment, the optimized values of the pulse voltages and the current limitation resistances of each electrode which composed the discharge logic gate were obtained and maximum operation margin of 49[V] was obtained

In paper, propose new partial resonance ZCS PWM controlled High frequency insulating Full-bridge DC/DC converter not using exciting current of high frequency transformer. It is compared with the existing principles in characteristics. It also realizes a widely stabilized ZVS operating using new ON-OFF control method at synchronized power rectification MOSFET of high frequency insulating transformer secondary. Besides, it is brought over 97[%] measurement efficiency by proposed DC-DC converts. It is proved effectiveness of new methods using DC UPS PWM rectifier as switching power supply.

The electrical characterstic of earth is the most dominant factor for grounding design and an earth is typically represented by a uniform medium with the specific earth resistivity, which is unique for a specific site. For a hand-working grounding design using a specific earth resistivity requires a process converting a real earth of complex medium into a simple uniform medium In this paper, we suggest a procedure to convert a multi-layered earth s into a simpler uniform earth for grounding design of Myanmar 500[kV] transmission towers.
Power System Security Control Method for Quench Characteristic of High-Temperature Superconducting Cable

This paper presents the basic quench protection idea for the HTS(High-Temperature Superconducting) cable. In Korea power system, the transfer capability of transmission line is limited by the voltage stability, HTS cable could be one of the countermeasure to enhance the transfer limit with its higher current capacity and lower impedance. However, the quench characteristic makes not only HTS cable to loss its superconductivity, but also change the impedance of the transmission line and power system operating condition dramatically. This pheonominum threats HTS cable safety as well as power system security, therefore a proper protection scheme and security control counterplan have to be established before HTS cable implementation. In this paper, the quench characteristics of HTS cable for the fault current based on heat balance equation was established and a proper protection method regarding conventional protection system was suggested.
Induction Motor Bearing Damage Detection Using Stator Current Monitoring

This paper addresses the application of motor current spectral analysis for the detection of rolling-element bearing damage in induction machines. We set the experimental test bed. They is composed of the normal condition bearing system, the abnormal rolling-element bearing system of 2 type induction motors with shaft deflection system by external force and a hole drilled through the outer race of the shaft end bearing of the four pole test motor. We have developed the embedded distributed fault tolerant and fault diagnosis system for industrial motor. These mechanisms are based on two 32-bit DSPs and each TMS320F2407 DSP module is checking stator current The effects on the stator current spectrum are described and related frequencies are also determined. This is an important result in the formulation of a fault detection scheme that monitors the stator currents. We utilized the FFT(Fast Fourier Transform), Wavelet analysis and averaging signal pattern by inner product tool to analyze stator current components. Especially, the analyzed results by inner product clearly illustrate that the stator signature analysis can be used to identify the presence of a bearing fault.
Ground Impedance Characteristics Analysis of a Copper Rod-type Grounding Electrode used for Electric Distribution Systems

Grounding insures a reference potential point for electric devices and also provides a low resistance path for fault currents in the earth. The ground impedance as a function of frequency is necessary for determining its performance since fault currents could contain a wide range of frequencies. A cower rod electrode is the most commonly used grounding electrode in electric distribution systems. In this paper, the ground impedance of cower rods has been measured in frequency ranging from 60[Hz] up to 100[kHz] and an equivalent circuit model, transfer function model of the ground impedance are identified from the measured values.
A Study on Determining the Size of the Interface Inductor for Grid-Connected Micro-Sources

The concept of the Micro-Grid comprising Micro-Sources supplying both heat and power ranging from several [KW] to 1[MW] to local customers is proposed by CERTS(Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions). Micro-Sources adopt environmentally friendly and reliable power sources such as Fuel-Cell and Micro-Turbines. Micro-Sources adopt voltage source inverter with AC grid system in order to provide independent real and reactive power control for premium power quality. Thus Micro-Source needs series inductance for interfacing with AC grid system. With this reason, we propose a technique that can decide the optimal size of the inductor for effective transfer of the power into the grid.
Features and Statistics on the Magnetic Field Waveforms Radiated by Intracloud Discharges

This paper presents some features and statistics of electromagnetic pulses radiated from intracloud lightning discharges. The LabVIEW based-measurement system of time-dependent electromagnetic fields was constructed. The frequency bandwidth of the measuring system ranged from 300[Hz] to 1[MHz], and the response sensitivity was 2.78(mV/nT). The resolution and the maximum recording length of the data acquisition system were 12(bits) and 100[ms], respectively. In the electromagnetic pulses radiated from intracloud discharges, a pronounced bipolar pulse appeared with one or more fast pulses superimposed on the initial front part of the bipolar pulse. The mean duration of intracloud discharges was
, and an average of about 8 outburst pulses appeared for a period.

Recently an increase of sensor and power trandusers in control equipment system has caused many kinds of noise the mis-operation equipment and demage program memories of control circuits. In this paper, the noise character of the various control equipment system has been measured and analyzed. Additionally, the countermeasure to reduce noise like as Noise Cut Transformer, Equipotential Bonding, Power Noise Rejector, Noise Filter has been applied and confirmed the effective results to solve the trouble of noise.

PID controller is widely used as automatic equipment for industry. However when a system has various characters of intermittence or continuance, a new parameter decision for accurate control is a bud task. As a method of solving this problem, in this paper, a teaming gain regulator as PID controller functions is presented. A propriety teaming gain of system is decided by a rule of Delta learning. The function of proposed loaming gain regulator is verified by simulation results of DC motor.

NOx Smoke and other exhausted components already became a dangerous state as principal materials of the air pollution. Therefore, the exhausted regulations are getting strict in the many countries. In this paper, reduction characteristic of NOx Smoke and CO from diesel engine are investigated, when MF plasma-EGR hybride system is put to the diesel engine NOx is decreased in all measured load and applied voltage to plasma reactor. However Smoke is increased as increasing EGR rate and it is decreased as increasing applied voltage.

We are interaction refrigeration warehouse cold water pump system and photovoltaic generation system. At this time, a target pressure is able to control in spite of change of the pressure according to pump head and rate of flow of pump. Also, we carry out the vector control of BLDC motor with the maximum torque operation and a high reliability from territory of each operation speed. Therefore, in this paper, we conclude energy saving technique of refrigeration warehouse cold water pump system.

In this paper deals with the frequency control of the HVDC scheme linking Haenam to Cheju Island. The primary aim of the study is to develop and evaluate a new frequency control that can be employed without having to utilise the existing Synchronous Compensators(Gas Turbines). Transient condition studies are performed utilising the detailed control strategies for the HVDC link, implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC. Study cases are completed involving synchronous compensators trip and load ripping events and study plots presented. It is demonstrated that the existing frequency measurement can be replaced by one derived from the AC network alone, incorporated into a new frequency control algorithm and gives effective frequency control and dynamic performance.
The Modeling of the Optimal Data Format for JPEG2000 CODEC on the Fixed Compression Ratio

Recently, images/videos have been preferred as the communication media because of their information-implication and easy recognizability. But the amount of their data is so large that it has been the major research area to compress their data. This paper is related to optimization in th image data format, which can make a great effect in performance of data compression and is based on the wavelet transform and JPEG2000. This paper established a criterion to decide the data format to be used in wavelet transform, which is on the bases of the data errors in frequency transform and quantization. This criterion has been used to extract the optimal data format experimentally. The result were(1, 9) of 10-bit fixed-point format for filter coefficients and (9, 7) of 16-bit fixed-point data dormat for wavelet coefficients and their optimality was confirmed.
