The tunnel is the place where brightness changes abruptly. It is important to grasp the road situation and the traffic situation of the tunnel accurately for safe and secure driving, and tunnel lighting installation should be well maintained. Luminance and illuminance of the tunnel inside should be measured periodically to maintain enough brightness. But traditional manual measurement could not guarantee the fastness and trustworthy of the measured values. In this paper, a mobile measuring system for tunnel lighting luminance and illuminance was developed and a result regarding the propriety of the system was derived.

In this paper, it is reported that film-bulk-acoustic resonator with high c-axis oriented AIN film on
using metal-organic-chemical-vapor deposition was fabricated. The resonant frequency and anti-resonant frequency of the fabricated resonator were observed with 3.189[GHz] and 3.224[GHz], respectively. The quality factor and the effective electromechanical coupling coefficient(

Heavy chemical industries have nonlinear loads including electrolyzers. The electrolysis consists of AC-BC converters which generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system. This paper provides in depth an analysis on harmonics field measurement for the electrolyzer loads, adding a single-tuned filter at the customer bus for reducing harmonic distortion and harmonic assessment by the international harmonic standards IEC 61000-3-6 and IEEE Std. 519. The EDSA program was used as a simulation tool for the case study.

Evaluation of Potential Interferences between Grounding Electrodes using an Electrolytic Tank

This paper deals with the potential interferences between grounding electrodes in various grounding electrodes. The ground potential rise and potential interference coefficients were measured by using and electrolytic tank and calculated by CDEGS program as functions of the configuration and size of grounding electrodes and the distance between grounding electrodes. The ground potential rise and potential interference coefficient strongly depend on the distance between grounding electrodes, the shape and size of grounding electrodes. The potential rise interferences between grounding grid and grounding grid is lower than those between grounding grid and ground rod.

The effect of arc like streamer discharge is investigated on the hydrogen generation using the multineedle-plate electrode geometry plasma realtor(MPER) and the needle-plate electrode geometry plasma reactor(NPER). In order to restrict waves at the water surface when the high voltage applied, two kinds of the insulator such as the rectangular mesh or the hole mesh type are installed under the water surface. The discharge assistant of the two type(the saw type and the
pellet type) was placed under the water surface to investigate the effect of the water surface conditions. The experimental results are compared in case of the reactor with and without the discharge assistant on the water surface.

Recently, many researchers have shown great interest in wind-photovoltaic hybrid generation system which promotes electric power supply safely and progress of energy usage efficiently with complementary cooperation of a wind generation system and photovoltaic generation system. To use this hybrid generation system stably and effectively, we established a system which can acquire, analyse and save data and monitored remotely using internet. We constructed the signal conditioning circuit and used many kinds of converters to measure physical quantities such as wind velocity, intensity of illumination and temperature as well as many kinds of voltage and current for AC and DC. we acquired data from computer with data acquisition board, developed server program and client program which can download data that is monitored and saved in realtime at remote place. We analysed the measured data in relation to many conditions such as time and weather conditions.

In industrial control system used by Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), ladder Diagram(LD) is the must widely utilized and plays an important role in industrial control system. But recently, the study about Sequential Function Chart(SFC) is performed actively. When we program by SFC, generally, we design one routine from start to end. This method is difficult to design, and we often make mistakes. In this paper, we propose the method that we compose each sub-system after we design each sub-system and confirm his feasibility through an actual examples.

Generally, Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor(PM BLDC) is necessary the Hall-IC to detect the rotor position. But it will take place the operation standstill of motor or error of rotor position detection according to the circumference temperature, humidity, or limited surroundings. This paper propose the algorithm of rotor position detection only using one or two Hall-IC. Therefore we can estimate information of the others phase in sequence through a rotor instead of using three Hall-IC at 3 phase motor. This paper identify the same characteristics, performance and function of protection circuit by the proposed algorithm with the 3 phase PM BLDC motor in comparison with general method.

The number of elevator installation increases every year about 15,000. The number of confine-disease of elevator increases every year and then sudden in, sudden stop, error of level indication, stand; those can bring to uneasiness of elevator passenger and malfunction related life accident is increasing. Therefore we researched elevator repair diary of elevator repairing company, APT management office and 119 life rescue for elevator confine-disease during 2004. 1. 1.
12. 31. we analyzed the content and the time type and cause of the malfunction and fault for APT elevator. Form the result of 119 life rescue, only power reset is 24[%] and only power failure is 8.2[%] by cause of confine-disease. This paper will be used data of the analysis for mutual relation between Power Quality and malfunction and fault of elevator.
Effects of the Length of Down Conductors on Transient Ground Impedances

This paper presents the transient impedance behaviors according to the length of down conductors of grounding systems to lightning impulse currents. The potential rise and effective impulse ground impedance of the deeply-driven ground rod and grounding grid subjected to the impulse currents were measured and analyzed as a function of the rise time of impulse currents and lengths of down conductor. The transient ground impedances strongly depend on the configuration and size of grounding electrodes, the waveform of impulse currents and the length of down conductors, and the installation methods reducing the inductance of down conductors are an important factor to decrease the transient ground impedances.
Improvement of Lighting Installation Technical Standard in Waterpark, Public Bath and Similar Places for the Prevention of Electric Shock

A person`s body resistance in the waterpark, public bath and similar places is much lower than any other places due to effect of water. So low voltage may create a shock hazard for the human body in case of leakage or fault currents from lighting unit etc. We researched the related regulations which are internal standards, NEC, IEC and investigated the actual conditions for the prevention of electric shock due to lighting units in the waterpark, public bath and similar places. As a results internal standard is obscure as compared with NEC, IEC which is the limit of application and distinction of environment condition. And then internal standard`s using voltage is higher than NEC, IEC in filed of water. Studies show that internal standard should be revision that raise the installation height of lighting unit, mark IP level surface of lighting unit and limit using voltage to line-to-line voltage
Design and Assessment of DC Traction Power Supply System for Light Rail Transit

For the design of DC traction power supply system at new Light Rail Transit(LRT) construction, it is very important to determine system configuration, location and power capacity of substation. However, a LRT system consists of a number of subsystems such as train movement, power supply and traction drives, which inevitably contains many complexities and diversities. The objective of this paper is to clarify and systematize the design procedure and its assessment for the electrification system of a LRT line. This paper discusses in detail our approach to system design and its assessment. The whole DC-feeding network configuration, characteristics of a train, and design method of substation arrangements is thoroughly investigated for the design. As a result of the investigations, the design procedure is clarified and systematized and a computer program for the design and evaluation of the system is developed using the most suitable iterative method with nodal equation. To verify the proposed design and its assessment procedure, case studies for the DC traction power supply system of a planed Korean LRT line are performed.
Efficiency Optimization Control of SynRM Drive with HAI Controller

This paper is proposed an efficiency optimization control algorithm for a synchronous reluctance motor which minimizes the cower and iron losses. The design of the speed controller based on adaptive fuzzy-neural networks(AFNN) controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural networks. There exists a variety of combinations of d and f-axis current which provide a specific motor torque. The objective of the efficiency optimization controller is to seek a combination of d and q-axis current components, which provides minimum losses at a certain operating point in steady state. It is shown that the current components which directly govern the torque production have been very well regulated by the efficiency optimization control scheme. The proposed algorithm allows the electromagnetic losses in variable speed and torque drives to be reduced while keeping good torque control dynamics. The control performance of the hybrid artificial intelligent(HAI) controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. Analysis results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm

The international standard to determine grounding conductor size can be applied for a wide range of items because it includes the specific physical characteristics, but it has a problem where the numerical formula is complicated. However the JIS and domestic standard numerical formula are simple but have many constraints. The new grounding conductor size selecting method is necessary in order to solve such problems. Therefore, in this study, we suggested an improved method for selecting the grounding conductor size and simple numerical formula with a numerical formula control modeling. and we verified reliability of paper used case study.

Maximum efficiency control scheme in a stator flux-oriented induction motor drive is proposed for minimizing input dc power. Flux level is decreased in steps for searching the minimum input dc power. In addition, Torque equation, slip angular frequency, and decoupling compensation current considering iron loss resistance is used. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
