Modeling and Actual Investigation of Roadway Lighting in Jejusi

Fixed lighting of public ways for both drivers and pedestrians can create a nighttime environment in which people can see comfortably and can quickly and accurately identify objects on the roadway being travelled. Roadway lighting can improve traffic safety, achieve efficient traffic movement and promote the general use of the facility during darkness. The design of a roadway lighting system involves consideration of visibility, economics, esthetics, safety and environmental conditions. This paper shows estimation of horizontal illuminance and uniformity ratio by actual measurement of roadway lighting at main streets in Jejusi and evaluation of Jejusi roadway lighting conditions for modeling by computer simulation.
Electrical Properties of ITO and ZnO:Al Thin Films and Brightness Characteristics of PDP Cell with ITO and ZnO:Al Transparent Electrodes

Tin doped indium oxide(ITO) and Al doped zinc oxide(ZnO:Al) films, which are widely used as a transparent conductor in optoelectronic devices, were prepared by using the capacitively coupled DC magnetron sputtering method. ITO and ZnO:Al films with the optimum growth conditions showed each resistivity of
and transmittance of 89.61[%], 90.88[%] in the wavelength range of the visible spectrum. The two types of 5 inch-PDP cells with ZnO:Al and ITO transparent electrodes were made under the same manufacturing conditions. The PDP cell with ZnO:Al film was optimally operated in the mixing gas rate of Ne(base)-Xe(8[%]), and at gas pressure of 400[Torr]. It also shows the average measured brightness of

[V]. Luminous efficiency, one of the key parameter for high brightness and low power consumption, ranges from 1.2 to 1.6[lm/W] with increasing frequency of ac power supplier from 10 to 50[Khz]. A Study on the Effect of Space Charge on the Display Discharge of Plasma Display Panel

The discharge characteristics for the reset period of sustain pulses of display discharge in address overlapped display driving methode is studied. It has been understood that the display discharge is strongly influenced of not only the wall charge but also the space charge from the experiment result. The first display discharge which comes out exactly after the rest periods strongly depends on the width of the reset period and as for the second display discharge, the dependancy of it is very low. Even if the first display discharge is a little insufficient if the wall charge is accumulated enough, the second display discharge can be stably induced. However, considering the influence of the space charge, it is preferable within the width of

The Sound Noise and Vibration Analysis for HVDC System Faults

This paper deals with the HVDC system fault analysis and the sound noise analysis. In this paper, the reasons of the audible noise and vibration were analyzed the fault waveform were analyzed using DTR (Digital Transient Recorder). Finally, using the fault current waveform and the vibration equation, the reason of crack of smoothing reactor support is estimated.
Time-varying Harmonics Measurement and Evaluation of the High Speed Electric Train Loads

High speed electric trains have nonlinear loads including converters and inverters for the control synchronous motors. Harmonics produced by these devices are large, but also have noticeable time varying characteristics. Since the large loads are supplied from the power system grid, it must be recognized that not only will the system of utility be impacted, but neighboring customer system could be impacted as well. In this paper time-varying harmonics for high speed electric train loads are measured and evaluated by international harmonic standards IEEE Std. 519 and IEC 61000-3-6 using a cumulative probablistic approach.
Characteristics of the Flux-lock Type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter According to the Iron Core Conditions

The superconducting fault current limiters(SFCLs) provide the effect such as enhancement in power system reliability due to limiting the fault current within a few miliseconds. Among various SFCLs we have developed a flux-lock type SFCL and exploited a special design to effectively reduce the fault current according to properly adjustable magnetic field after the short-circuit test. This SFCL consists of two copper coils wound in parallel on the same iron core and a component using the YBCO thin film connected in series to the secondary copper coil. Meanwhile, operating characteristics can be controlled by adjusting the inductances and the winding directions of the coils. To analyze the operational characteristics, we compared closed-loop with open-loop iron core. When the applied voltage was 200[Vrms] in the additive polarity winding, the peak values of the line current the increased up to 30.71[A] in the closed-loop and 32.01[A] in the open-loop iron core, respectively. On the other hand, in the voltages generated at current limiting elements were 220.14[V] in the closed-loop and 142.73[V] in the opal-loop iron core during first-half cycle after fault instant under the same conditions. We confirmed that the open-loop iron core had lower power burden than in the closed-loop iron core. Consequently, we found that the structure of iron core enabled the flux-lock type SFCL at power system to have the flexibility.
Electrochemical Hydrogenation Behavior of Surface-Treated Mg-based Alloys for Hydrogen Storage of Fuel Cell

The effects of surface treatment on the hydrogen storage properties of a
alloy particle were investigated by the microvoltammetric technique, in which a carbon-filament microelectrode was manipulated to make electrical contact with the particle in a KOH aqueous solution. It was found that the hydrogen storage properties of
at room temperature were improved by the surface treatment with a nickel plating solution. The sodium salts(sodium phosphate and sodium dihydrogen citrate) contained in the nickel plating solution made the alloy form an amorphous-like state, resulting in an improved hydrogen charge/discharge capacity at room temperature as high as about 150[mAh/g] from the original value of 17[mAh/g]. The Speed Control of Induction Motor using Automatic Neural Network Gain Regulator

PID controller is widely uesd as automatic equipment for industry. However when a system has various characters of intermittence or continuance, a new parameter decision for accurate control is a hard task. As method of solving this problem, in this paper, a Neural Network gain automatic regulator as PID controller functions is presented. A property feedback control gain of system is decided by a rule of Delta learning. The function of proposed automatic Neural Network gain regulator is verified by speed control experiment results of Induction Motor.
Development of Silent Discharge Chamber with Al
Dielectric Pellet to Improve Ozone Generation Characteristics

Recently deep interests have been paid on the effective generation of ozone, which has been widely used for water treatment, deodorization, color removal, and chemical processing of exhausted smoke. The silent discharge reaction has been proposed as the most effective one in the many ozone generation methods, because the silent discharge can be generated under the conditions of lower applied voltage and power consumption, compared other ones. In this paper, in order to improve the ozone generation and ozone generation efficiency, the conventional silent discharge chamber with
dielectric layer and tubular ferroelectric bed discharge reactor packed with
pellets were made, and the silent discharge of the reactors were studied experimentally. The ozone generation characteristics are also discussed based on the discharge characteristics, especially on the wall charge accumulation properties and power consumption. The results show that the electric charges of discharge tube with bead are around 2.5 times as large as those without bead. In the discharge chamber packed with dielectric beads, the ozone concentration and the energy yield characteristics were also improved, compared with those in the conventional silent discharge reactor.
Speed Control of IPMSM Drive using NNPI Controller

This paper presents speed control of IPMSM drive using neural network(NN) PI controller. In general, PI controller in computer numerically controlled machine process fixed gain. They may perform well under some operating conditions, but not all. To increase the robustness of fixed gain PI controller, NNPI controller proposes a new method based neural network. NNPI controller is developed to minimize overshoot rise time and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque and inertia. Also, this paper is proposed speed control of IPMSM using neural network and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner. And this controller is better than the fixed gains one in terms of robustness, even under great variations of operating conditions and load disturbance.
A New Solar Energy Conversion System Implemented Using Single Phase Inverter

This paper describes a solar energy conversion strategy is applied to grid-connected single phase inverter by the maximum power point of conversion strategy. The maximum power point of tracking is controlled output power of PV(photovoltaic)modules, based on generated circuit control MOSFET switch of two boost converter for a connected single phase inverter with four IGBT`s switch in full bridge. The generation control circuit allows each photovoltaic module to operate independently at peak capacity, simply by detecting of the output power of PV module. Furthermore, the generation control circuit attenuates low-frequency ripple voltage. which is caused by the full-bridge inverter, across the photovoltaic modules. The effectiveness of the proposed inverter system is confirmed experimentally and by means of simulation.
A Study on the PI Controller of AC Servo Motor using Genetic Algorithm

Recently, G.A studies have studied and demonstrated that artificial intelligence like G.A networks, G.A PI controller. The design techniques of PI controller using G.A with the newly proposed teaming algorithm was presented, and the designed controller with AC servo motor system. The goal of this paper is to design the AC servo motor using genetic algorithm and to control drive robot. And in this paper, we propose a genetic algorithms approach to find an optimal or near optimal input variables for genetic algorithm PI controller. Our experimental results show that this approach increases overall classification accuracy rate significantly. Finally, we executed for the implementation of high performance speed control system. It is used a 16-bit DSP, IMS320LF2407, which is capable of the high speed and floating point calculation.
