It is important to grasp the accurate lighting level for appropriate maintenance of the road lighting equipment. It is developed 2 division illuminance measurement systems. This system has a small size and no need to block the way and achieves the speedy measurement and high accuracy data in automatically measurement. As a result, this system can save expense and time to measure roadway lighting.
Luminous Environment and Light Pollution in Gas Stations with Non-cutoff Luminaires

Lighting for gas station should be carefully designed with safety and visually attraction. Recent studies have shown that non-cutoff luminaires should not be used for gas station. duo to light pollution and energy waste. This paper aims to evaluate the luminous environment in gas station with non-cutoff luminaires. The CS-100 and Radiant Imaging Prometric-1400 were used to measure the luminance of building surface, canopy, ceiling and ground surface. The result shows that the whole luminance of various combination elements in gas station increases by rising the total luminaires of the canopy. All of the gas stations with non-cutoff luminaries produce light pollution. Some guidelines for outdoor lighting in gas station is necessary.

In this paper, we used "Double Photometric System for Road Lighting" and measured roadway lighting of the metropolitan area by a measurement of illuminance and luminance. As a result, so many roads were dissatisfied with the permitted range of roadway lighting because of the road shape, lighting method, trees lining a street and obstacles.
Study on Sensitivity of Variables of the Experiment to Evaluate Discomfort Glare of Interior Artificial Illumination

The ultimate purpose of the study is to develop a discomfort glare forecasting formula that can be practically used in Korea in order to effectively forecast discomfort glare considering the optical characteristics of the Koreans. The study was to examine the relations between discomfort glare and the variables such as luminance, background luminance, solid angle, luminous area and louver. To this end, experiments were conducted in a mock-up office that emulates the lighting environment of an ordinary office. The study was conducted by four steps as follow. First, previous studies on discomfort glare rating to define and rate discomfort glare were analyzed and modified to be applied to the experiments of this study. Second, experiment variables, variable scope, evaluation objects and evaluation points were determined after review on existing discomfort glare evaluation experimental formulas. Third, experiments were conducted in a mock-up office to be able to control variables. Finally, sensitivity of experiment variables were analyzed through examination of the relation between discomfort glare and the variables such as luminance, solid angle, louver, luminous area and subject's position. The result showed that the most influential variables on discomfort glare of an artificial light source is luminance and louver, luminous area and subject's position(solid angle) followed.
Output Characteristic of Zinc Vapour Laser With Capacitively Coupled Radio Frequency Excitation

From a CCRF-excited zinc vapour laser with overlapped DC-discharge were emitted following 6 laser lines: two blue at 491.162[nm] and 492.403[nm], an orange at 589.433[nm] and three infrared lines at 747.879[nm], 758.848[nm] and 773.25[nm]. The discharge parameters were determined for an optimal laser operation. At a RF-power of 400[W] with the frequency 13.56[MHz] the optimal temperature of the oven lay between 780[K] and 800[K], the He-pressure between 3.5[kPa] and 5.5[kPa].
Efficiency Optimization Control of IPMSM using Neural Network

Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications and so of due to their excellent power to weight ratio. To obtain maximum efficiency in these applications, this paper proposes the neural network control method. The controllable electrical loss which consists of the copper loss and the iron loss can be minimized by the error back propagation algorithm(EBPA) of neural network. The minimization of loss is possible to realize eHciency optimization control for the IPMSM drive. This paper proposes high performance and robust control through a real time calculation of parameter variation such as variation of back emf constant, armature resistance and d-axis inductance about the motor operation. Proposed algorithm is applied IPMSM drive system, prove validity through analysis operating characteristics con011ed by efficiency optimization control.

To change rail tracks from main track to another track, it needs a device that is called the turnout point. If the point which is composed of accurate parts and complex sensors does not work, And also, serious problems will be arisen. However, there are serious problems by the failure of the point. In this paper, after analyzing the failures of the conventional points, a new point is suggested. The proposed point is not affected by the surge caused by lightning.

Reliability-Centered Maintenance plan for maintenance schedule of generating unit is being assessed in this paper. Maintenance schedule is a key index that can be used to determine stability and cost. In this paper, stochastic FMECA is described for the life assessment by using probability distribution, and combustion-turbine generations in Korean power systems have been assessed for maintenance schedule. Such an assessment can be a useful guide for maintenance plans in restructured power industry.
Ozone Processing Storage Characteristic of Main Herb Medicines

Recently, many storing methods were applied to keep quality of herb medicines during storage. Among of thent we tried to research a method to store after dissolving remaining harmful bacillus and agricultural chemicals of herb medicines. We confirmed that ozone processing is superior at the sterilization of bacteria and virus from the leading research about ozone generator, and then we made research method to apply with the sterilization and storing processing of herb medicines using ozone (OPS). In this study we chose herb medicines of 4 kinds which have been sold much in the market, evaluated the characteristics. Namely, we used ozone lamp in a storage system and investigated the sterilization characteristic of herb medicines. We executed a quantitative analysis of the general ingredient and the physiological activity ingredient to investigate whether the original ingredient and the quality of herb medicines is preserved, after doing an ozone md storing processing for a long term.

A polarimetric fiber-optic CT has been developed by using a sensing coil made of a length of sun fiber. A Faraday rotator mirror is attached to the end of the sensor coil to double the sensitivity and to suppress the residual linear birefringence effect. From the current measurements, the linear error no more than
was obtained. The output of spun fiber sensor coil was compared with those of the twisted- and the flint glass fiber's, and it fumed out to almost 50 times, 2 times more sensitive, respectively.

A method for improving current THD of Valley-fill rectifier is proposed in this paper. The proposed topology combines a boosting inductor with Valley-fill rectifier which carry out AC/DC conversion and PFC simultaneously The boosting effect by PWM switching makes low THD current and improve of Valley-fill rectifier. The operation modes and THD of input current are analyzed as applied the boosting inductor, and the optimum value of boosting inductor is determined A 100[W] single-stage converter has been designed and tested. Experimental results are resented to verify the validity of the proposed method.

Proposed induction-heated system is innovative system which applied special high-frequency power circuit technique for thermal converse technique and IH(Induction-Heating) magnetic induction heating generated from induction-heated metallic package that is for distillation unit. In this occurs not burning, so that the working environment can be improved. This electromagnetic induction heating technique is used high frequency inverter. By using high frequency inverter high frequency alternative current (HFAC) in the range of [kHz] can be made with conventional alternative current. In this contribution IGBT module is used for high frequency inverter. In this paper are discussed action analysis and characteristics analysis of 1.5[kW]-Class half-bridge resonant inverter system and resonant metallic package. In addition, by using this system, how two step heating superheated steam generator is developed and application of system are also discussed.
Computer Program Development for Station Reliability Assessment using System State Transition Sampling

This paper presents the computer program for station reliability assessment. The developed program is based on Monte-Carlo simulation using system state transition sampling, which has the merit of rapid assessment compared to state duration sampling. One of the contributions of this paper is introduction of exclusiveness among events, which makes non-exponential probabilistic distribution be utilized in modeling repair time. The developed program is applied to well-blown sample system, and its assessment results are listed in this paper to show the reliability of the program.
Analysis on Quench Recovery Dependence of A Flux-Lock Type SFCL According to the Winding Directions

We investigated the current limiting and the recovery characteristics of a flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) according to the winding directions. The flux-lock type SFCL consists of two coils. The primary coil was wound in parallel to the secondary coil through an Iron core, and the secondary coil was connected with the superconducting element in series. We have changed the winding direction of coils to compare the resistive type SFCL with the flux-lock type SFCL. The current limiting and the recovery characteristics were dependent on the winding direction. The quenching time in the additive polarity winding was faster than that of the subtractive polarity winding or the resistivity type. A consumed energy in a superconducting element was represented as
. We found that there was a difference in the consumed energies in accordance with winding types because of differences in voltages imposed on a superconducting element in accordance with a winding direction.
A Transfer Function Synthesis for Model Approximation with Resonance Peak Value

This paper proposes a frequency transfer function synthesis for approximating a high-order model with resonance to a low-order model in the frequency domain. The presented model approximation method is based on minimizing the error function weighted by the numerator polynomial of approximated models, which is used of the RLS(Recursive Least Square) technique to estimate the coefficient vector of approximated models. The proposed method provides better fitting in a low frequency and peak resonance. And an example is given to illustrate feasibilities of the suggested schemes.
Analysis of Electric Shock Accidents and Check Results in Domestic and Foreign low-Voltage Handhole

Recently underground electrical power distribution is increased because people attach importance to aesthetics of the downtown areas. Lew-voltage handhole of underground distribution line for joint and branch point is mainly installed at the sidewalk. So, pedestrian can get a electric shock if fault is occurred in the low-voltage handhole. Furthermore the street was flooded by recently an unusual change in the weather. Fault is occurred in the low-voltage handhole that may create a shock hazard for the human body because a person's body resistance lower due to effect of water. This paper analyses causes of electric shock accidents and check results at the low-voltage handhole. At a result of analysis, the causes of electric shock accidents in domestic and foreign low-voltage handhole are same but environmental conditions of low-voltage handhole are different In the future, the analytical data can be applied to prevent the electric shock at the low-voltage handhole, and can be used to basic data for the improving installment of low-voltage handhole.
Power Quality Analysis of Jeju System Considering HVDC Overhaul and Wind Turbines

Power system of Jeju is interconnected to the mainland using HVDC and that is also interconnected two wind farms. Control of Jeju power system will be difficult if HVDC is disconnected or HVDC is overhauled under large scale wind farms interconnected. We measured and analysed the power quality of two substation and two wind farms to assess that wind farms and HVDC overhaul have an effect on Jeju system or not during the HVDC overhaul. We found that the frequency of Jeju system is very unstable and the voltage distortion excess the limitation. Harmonic currents of wind farms flew into Jeju system in proportion to the power of wind turbine. And the voltage of nearby distribution line was distorted by power of wind turbine when the amount is more that 3,000[kW].
Effects of Ground Faults on the Safety of Persons and Low-voltage Installations in 22.9 kV-Y Distribution Systems

This paper presents experimental results on the safety of persons and protection of low-voltage equipments of the sub-station due to a single-phase ground fault in 22.9 kV-Y distribution system. In order to evaluate the hazard voltages and the stress voltage of the low-voltage(LV) equipment due to faults between high-voltage systems and earth based on the newly prescribed KS C IEC 60364 standard series, the verification tests in a 22.9[kV] neutral multiple grounding system were carried out. From the experimental results, we introduce serious problems causing some discomfort when applying KS C IEC 60364 standard series to the existing domestic distribution system and the effective protective measures against temporary overvoltages due to a ground fault in the common grounding which is combined the 22.9 kV-Y grounding and the customer's installation grounding are proposed. As a consequence, it was found that the equipotential bonding is an important prerequisite for the effectiveness of the protective measures for the safety of persons and LV equipment in the combined 22.9 kV-Y and low-voltage grounding system.
The Characteristics of Plate Type Ozonizer with Variation of Electrode Form

Recently, ozone is utilized in various fields and its needs are expanding. In this paper, plate type ozonizer have been fabricated to investigate discharge parameter(input power, flow rate of supplied gas, electrode form, etc.) effect to discharge. And the conditions of discharge parameter have been investigated for optimum ozone generation. Ozone concentration is continuously increased with increasing input power for same discharge space, and ozone yield is also increased until maximum point after that it is saturated. Ozone concentration is inversely proportional to flow rate of supplied gas but ozone generation and ozone yield characteristics are improved.
A Study on the Insulation Diagnosis to measure Radiated Electromagnetic Waves with Partial Discharge Propagation at being of Conductive Particle in model GIS

Partial discharge were simulated by conductive particle which could be easy accumulated charge and concentrated electric field in the model GIS. Radiated electromagnetic waves were measured and analyzed by using spectrum analyzer and antenna (
) for measurement of EMI EMC in accordance with occurrence and propagation of partial discharge. This paper suggested the other method of detecting and estimating of partial discharge for insulation diagnosis of GIS being conductive particle by measurement and analysis of radiated electromagnetic waves. From results of this study, it was confirmed that if the suggested method should be used for the diagnosis of insulation in the model GIS being conductive particle, detecting partial discharge and estimating discharge propagation will be possible.
