Minimization of Gap in LCD Multimedia Screen Using Binary Fresnel Lens

LCD multimedia system is necessary to display and transfer the effective image informations. However, this system uses several LCD screens, so the problem of gap between the LCD screens occurs. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents a method of using binary Fresnel lens. This kind of binary fresnel lens makes each screen enlarge and minimize the gap. The optimization of design parameters of binary Fresnel lens is presented.
A Study on Electric Field Distribution with Bushing Geometry

This paper described results for desiging the best effective bushing geometry by comparing the distribution of the electric field according to bushing geometry. Twelve cases of the geometrical change are tried to analysis. Improvement of the insulation strength related with the vector and the electric field distribution are reached to about 0.7[%] and
by changing the electrode length, respectively. Moreover, in cases of the change of insulator thickness at high-voltage parts, the insulation strength relevant to the same parameters as mentioned above are 2[%] and
, respectively Consequently, the quenching voltage for interrupting the partial discharge might be improved due to increasing the insulation strength by the geometrical change.
Evaluation of Reliability Worth Considering Sustained Interruptions and Voltage Sags

Power quality problems such as momentary interruptions and voltage sags do not great influence on loads at past. However, the interests in power quality problems increase as the use of sensitive loads with microprocessor like computers increases recently. Accordingly, power system reliability research focusing to sustained interruption and momentary interruption partially needs more accurate evaluation methods including momentary and instantaneous problems. That is, many sensitive loads being tripped by voltage sags result in interruption costs. In this paper, new reliability worth evaluation method is presented considering voltage sags. We calculated the magnitude of voltage sags using fault studies and the duration of voltage sags using the trip time of protective relays for each fault. Moreover, we includes the customer interruption cost resulted from sensitive load trip by voltage sags. Through case studies, we evaluate the effects of voltage sags for permanent faults.
A Fuel Cell Generation Modeling and Interconnected Signal Analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC

The fuel cell generation convert fuel source, and gas directly to electricity in an electro-chemical process. Unlike traditional and conventional turbine engines, the process of fuel cell generation do not burn the fuel and run pistons or shafts, and it has not revolutionary machine, so have fewer efficiency losses, low emissions and no noisy moving parts. A high power density allows fuel cells to be relatively compact source of electric power, beneficial in application with space constraints. In this system, the fuel cell itself is nearly small-sized by other components of the system such as the fuel reformer and power inverter. So, the fuel cell energy`s stationary fuel cells produce reliable electrical power for commercial and industrial companies as well as utilities. In this paper, a fuel cell system has been modeled using PSCAD/EMTDC to analyze its electric signals and characteristics. Also the power quality of the fuel cell system has been evaluated and the problems which can be occurred during its operation have been studied by modeling it more detailed. Particularly, we have placed great importance on its power quality and signal characteristics when it is connected with a power grid.
A Study on the Serial-Parallel Resonant DC/DC Converter for Contactless Power Supply System

Recently, Contactless Power Supply(CPS) system has been broadly studied as a power supply system for Flat Panel Display(FPD) material transfer equipments. In mass production line, CPS systems on material transfer equipment are applied only in the straight sections with single operating vehicle. The formal CPS system was not adequate for curved section nor multiple operating vehicles. Therefore, this paper presents CPS system that consists of straight and curved section with multiple operation vehicles. The circuit topology of CPS system consists of full bridge configured serial-parallel resonant DC/DC converter. The control method for CPS system consists of duty control method on the primary power supply system to maintain constant resonant current. And the secondary power supply systems of multiple vehicles are self controled to maintain constant output voltage. Practically, the test result of dual vehicles on straight and curved section of material transfer equipments were satisfactory, and proved it`s applicability on commercial use.
A Trend Analysis on Professional Engineer Examination in Korea Railway Signaling

The railway is an important industry which quickly and safely transports a great deal of people and goods compared to other methods of transportation. Because there is not enough manpower in this field, professional engineers are urgently demanded. Although there are many people who apply for the Korea railway signaling professional engineer examination, they do not know how and what to prepare for it. This Paper analyzes the pattern of questions in the examination for the last fifteen years and the trend of the examination. The subjects which have been taught in railway related educational institutions for the last five years are also analyzed. This paper suggests some essential subjects that should be studied in order to show an easy way to obtain the certificate to those who prepare for the examination.

A study on the Controller Development Depending Load Variation of a Diesel Generator for Power System Connection of Distributed-source

Diesel generator is most widely used for supplying of emergency electrical power. There have been extensive research efforts to develop ways to Ensure stable electrical power delivery to the loads using hybrid power sutures, such as power source, storage batteries, fuel cells and solar cells. Furthermore, as the role of these diesel generators for emergency electrical power supply has recently become very important, they should assure high reliability and flexibility according to the operation load. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce a controller to be used in diesel generator toenable tracking control of maximum power according to the load variation and suppressing high-order harmonics while maintaining stable frequency.
Improved Maximum Efficiency Control of a Stator Flux-Oriented Induction Motor Drive

A fast maximum efficiency control scheme of a stator flux-oriented control of an induction motor is proposed. Three inputs of given three magnetic fluxes are calculated. Then magnetic flux for minimum input is calculated by quadratic interpolation method and maximum efficiency control is fulfilled with the calculated magnetic flux for minimum input. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the scheme.
Characteristics Analysis of Power Capacitor with Unbalanced Voltage Operation

In the three phase four wire system, voltage unbalance caused by the unbalanced load operation, gives rise to current unbalance and de-rates by the increase of machine`s loss and eventually enlarges power capacity and besides has a bad effect on power quality. Power capacitor has been used for the power factor correction of inductive load and the voltage stability of power system. And it uses instead of power side for magnetic excitation of induction motor. If voltage unbalance keeps up, it affects on voltage stress at the power capacitor and finally can be caused breakdown. In this paper, we analysed that voltage and current of power capacitor increases by the voltage unbalance factor and its stress is growing more and more.
A Development of on Electronic Starter for Single Phase Induction Motor

This paper presents a simple electronic starter for single phase induction motor (SPIM). It replaces the centrifugal switch in the auxiliary winding circuit of the capacitor start type SPIM. The electronic starter observes the auxiliary winding voltage, and disconnects the auxiliary winding when the motor gets close to its rated speed. Because of its possibly fluttering contacts of the centrifugal switch which mounted on the conventional SPIM, the reliability of SPIM can be reduced. Developed new electronic starter has no mechanical contacts. Therefore, the reliability and the performance of SPIM can be improved. The operational principle of the proposed electronic starter is explained, and illustrated with experimental results.
A Study on Characteristics for a Contract Power Conversion Factor and Analysis of a Maximum Utilization Factor of Transformer in General Customers

Contract power conversion factor which is applied to estimate contract power of general customers is an important standard to caculate transformer capacity. This paper shows a reasonable contract power conversion factor, that was made by the systematic and statistical way considering actual conditions, such as investigated contract power and peak power for the last 5 years of each customer for 461 general customers as to AMR. In this dissertation, it is necessary to analyze the key features and general trend from the investigated data It made an analysis of the feature parameters, such as average, standard deviation, median, maximum, minimun and thus it was carried by the linear and nonlinear regression analysis. Therefore, this paper compared characteristics for a contract power conversion factor which is applied to estimate contract power with characteristics for a regression model for customers which maximum utilization factor of transformer is more than 60[%].
Fuzzy Controller Design of PC Based for Solar Tracking System

In this paper proposed the solar tracking system to use a fuzzy based on PC in of order to increase an output of the PV(Photovoltaic) array. The solar tracking system operated two DC motors driving by signal of photo sensor. The control of dual axes is not an easy task due to nonlinear dynamics and unavailability of the parameters. Recently, artificial intelligent control of the fuzzy control, neural-network and genetic algorithm etc. have been studies. The fuzzy control made a nonlinear dynamics to well perform and had a robust and highly efficient characteristic about a parameter variable as well as a nonlinear characteristic. Hence the fuzzy control was used to perform the tracking system after comparing with error values of setting-up, nonlinear altitude and azimuth. In this paper designed a fuzzy controller for improving output of PV array and evaluated comparison with efficient of conventional PI controller. The data which were obtained by experiment were able to show a validity of the proposed controller.
A Survey of the Harmonics Level on a Typical Household Loads by Field Measurements

Typical household loads have nonlinear loads including a personal computer, video, refrigerator, microwave oven, TV, and audio set. These nonlinear loads generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative probablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. This paper provides in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the typical household loads for one year period and the survey is conducted with the objectives to identify the trends of harmonic distortion level present and indentify the future trends of metering in the presence of nonsinusoidal current and voltage waveforms in the system.
A Study on Grouped Management System of Post Office Buildings

There are about 160 post office buildings of medium and/or large scale in Korea Energy saving and efficient manpower management for the buildings are important. In this paper, patterns of the operation and energy consumption of the post office buildings are analyzed. The authors suggest an integrated and grouped management of the dispersed post office buildings using internet, through which more improved efficiency can be expected.

Recently, a demand of the digital dimmer system is increasing steadily, but domestic research is not sufficient to the expectation. In this paper, a digital dimmer equipment is developed and resented to compose a system. Digital dimmer system compose console and dimmer rack. Console controls of user interface and a total system, and dimmer rack controls brightness of lighting equipment by a way of phase angle control with each illumination level to get from console.
