A Study of Trajectory Simulation of Master Arm

In industrial fields, human works are being replaced by robots. However, as the use of robots is limited in the process industry where they are operated fixedly, humanoid robots with wide applications need to be developed. Currently a great deal of research is being conducted on humanoid robots with the object of replacing humans in the workplace. However, because of the lack of relevant hardware and difficulty in mechanical parts, only very simple and limited progress is being made. In an effort to overcome these limitations, the purpose of the present study is to develop a kinematical mechanism and a controller. To this end, master arms with 3 degrees-of-freedom for the shoulders and the arms were composed which were able to reproduce human-like motions by simulating the characteristics of joint variables and the trajectory of the end-effector.
High-Frequency Flyback Transformer Linked PWM Power Conditioner with An Active Switched Capacitor Snubber

A single active capacitor snubber-assisted soft-switching sinewave pulse modulation utility-interactive power conditioner with a three-winding flyback high frequency transformer link and a bidirectional active power switch in its secondary side has been proposed. With the aid of the switched-capacitor quasi-resonant snubber cell, the high frequency switching devices in the primary side of the proposed DC-to-AC sinewave power inverter can be turned-off with ZVS commutation. In addition to this, the proposed power conditioner in the DCM can effectively take the advantages of ZCS turn-on commutation. Its output port is connected directly to the utility AC power source grid. At the end, the prototype of the proposed HF-UPC is built and tested in experiment. Its power conversion conditioning and processing circuit with a high frequency flyback transformer link is verified and the output sinewave current is qualified in accordance with the power quality guidelines of the utility AC interactive power systems.
A Improved Method of Determining Everett Function with Logarithm Function and Least Square Method

For Preisach model, Everett function from the transient curves is needed to simulate the hysteresis phenomena. However it becomes very difficult to get the function if the it would be made only from experiments. In this paper, a simple and stable procedure using least square method and logarithm function to determine the Everett function which follows the Gauss distribution for interaction field axis is proposed. The characteristics of the parameters used in this procedure are also presented. The proposed method is applied to implement hysteresis loops. The simulation for hysteresis loop is compared with experiments and good agreements could be shown.
2-Stage Commutated SRM with Auxiliary Winding for Reduction of Acoustic Noise

A new excitation strategy for a Switched Reluctance Motor with Auxiliary Winding(SRMAW) is described and tested. The proposed scheme has auxiliary winding with one diode which is wound over all poles in one winding. In this scheme, auxiliary winding is used to reduce magnetic stress during commutations. The abrupt change of a phase excitation produces mechanical stresses resulting in vibration and noise. The acoustic noise is reduced remarkably through the 2-stage commutation. The operational principle and a characteristic comparison of the conventional SRM show that this scheme has some advantages including noise reduction as well as high drive efficiency.
Novel ZCS-PFM Series Resonant High Frequency Inverter for Electromagnetic Induction Eddy Current-Heated Roller

This paper presents a novel prototype of zero current switching pulse frequency modulation (ZCS-PFM )high frequency series resonant inverter using IGBT power module for electromagnetic induction eddy current heated roller in copy and printing machines. The operating principle and unique features of this voltage-fed half bridge inverter with two additional soft commutation inductor snubber are presented including the transformer modeling of induction heated rolling drum. This soft switching inverter can achieve stable zero current soft commutation under a discontinuous and continuous resonant load current for a widely specified power regulation processing. The experimental results and computer-aided analysis of this inverter are discussed from a practical point of view.
A Real-time Multiview Video Coding System using Fast Disparity Estimation

In this paper, a real-time multiview video coding system using fast disparity estimation is proposed. In the multiview encoder, adaptive disparity-motion estimation (DME) for an effective 3-dimensional (3D) processing are proposed. That is, by adaptively predicting the mutual correlation between stereo images in the key-frame using the proposed algorithm, the bandwidth of stereo input images can be compressed to the level of a conventional 2D image and a predicted image also can be effectively reconstructed using a reference image and adaptive disparity vectors. Also, in multiview decoder, intermediate view reconstruction (IVR) using adaptive disparity search algorithm (DSA) for real-time multiview video processing is proposed. The proposed IVR can reduce a processing time of disparity estimation by selecting adaptively disparity search range. Accordingly, the proposed multiview video coding system is able to increase the efficiency of the coding rate and improve the resolution.
The Coupled Electro-Thermal Field Analysis for Predicting Over-Current Protector Behavior

The characteristics of heat transfer of the bimetal disc for over-current protection device is specified. Bimetal consists of two metals which have a different thermal expansion coefficient. To analyze the thermal characteristics, temperature distribution when bimetal acts as a switch is calculated. As usual, heat source is applied to the bimetal and electric current is heat source in the over-current protection switch. In this paper, thermal distribution are obtained by solving a coupled electro-thermal field with 3D finite element method.
High-Frequency Zero Current Soft Switching Inverter with Pulse Density Modulation for Induction Heated Roller

This paper presents a voltage source type half-bridge series resonant high frequency (HF) inverter for induction heated fixing roller in copy machines. This high-frequency inverter works under zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation and has wide power regulation range due to employing a pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Transient and steady state operating modes of the inverter are presented in this paper together with its PDM-based power regulation system. Experimental operating performances of the developed HF-ZCS inverter as well as power losses and actual efficiency are discussed and compared with computer simulation results.
