Actual Conditions on the Illumination Environment of the Study Rooms in the Youth of an Agriculture Village

This study investigated the actual conditions of the illumination environment from agricultural youth study room. The result, average space of the study room was 11.42[
]. The illuminant uses the fluorescent lamp mainly, Method of using illumination was only general illumination the case which uses 73.8[%]. Method of light distribution was a direct lighting mainly. The house which has a stand illumination was also 45.7[%], The percentage using the stand illumination which was a local illumination was nothing but in 20[%] of the whole subject of investigation, therefore eye work could not effective. The internal illuminance was average 131.82[lx], the desk illuminance was 253.64[lx] which was the minimum permitted limit and poor. Uniformity ratio of illuminance appeared with average 35.61[%]. The satisfaction with 3.93 points to be high for illumination environment, therefore it was thought that the recognition of illumination was very insufficient.
A New Economic Evaluation for Demand-Side Resource using Lighting Dimming Control for the Electricity Suppliers in Competitive Electricity Markets

In this paper, a new demand-side evaluation for the technical potential of lighting dimming control and its applications in electricity markets have been presented. The California standard practice test has been widely used to estimate the economic value of demand-side resources. However, as the advent of deregulation and restructuring of power industry, the California test has been facing some limitations to adopt in the new market environments. In particular the conventional DC test is appropriate for the traditional vertically integrated utility, not for the restructured unbundled utility. Thus, this paper presents a new method to evaluate the economic value of demand-side resource, especially of controllable lighting dimming resource in terms of the energy service provider in market environments. We, therefore, first estimate the technical potential of the lighting dimming control and evaluate the value of the lighting dimming control based on the Korean electricity market data in 2006. The study result shows that the lighting dimming control is a cost effective option for the energy service provider.
A Study on Methods for the Visualization of Stage Space through Stage Lighting

Stage art basically builds upon the essence of "seeing," and at the same time, possesses relativity in showing and seeing. Stage lighting uses artificial light to solve the essence of "seeing", which is the foundation of stage art, and coming into the modern age, its role has been enhanced to an important medium for visual expression in stage art, due to the lighting tools that developed at a rapid pace along with the discovery of electricity, as well as the development of optics. Therefore, not only does lighting use a medium known as light in a field of stage art that gives mental and emotional inspiration to the audience, and aesthetically expresses time and space. In other words, stage lighting is a complex function of light engineering (technology and science) and aesthetic sense (feeling and art). This study aims to do research on methods for the visualization of stage space through lighting, mainly focused on dancing. I have studied the basics of stage lighting, its relations with other fields of stage art, and the functions and characteristics of lighting. Results show that lighting could be used to maximize the visualization of dancing and emphasizing the artistic growth of lighting and its ability to aesthetically express and I came to the following conclusions. First, lighting uses the forms and directions of light that various tools are able to produce in order to visualize the space on stage, and can maximally express the image that the work seeks. Second, it is possible to use lighting, through the movement of light, as a visual representation of the configuration of space in dancing works. Third, through the expression of visual and spatial aspects created by light, the work's dramatic catharsis can bring out mental and emotional feelings form the audience. Fourth, lighting can be seen not as a supporting role, but as an original visual design. To conclude, in order for lighting to be freed form the simple function of "lighting up the stage," which a majority of people think is common knowledge, and grow as one area in art, lighting designers must understand the intentions of the choreographer and the work with creativity and artistry they must consider light and color as an aesthetic language in order to heighten the effects of the work and allow it to partake as one element of work creation, so that lighting will be treated as a form of art.
A Study on the Harmonic Characteristics of GHP Cooling/Heating Load in an Institutional Building

The GHP(Gas Heat Pump) is an efficient cooling;11eating system in which a compressor is driven by a gas engine and is brodening its application to the facilities such as schools and office buildings. It is difficult to control the GHP system because of slow response, big time constant and time variant system. These nonlinear loads generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative probability approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the GHP loads, harmonic assessment by me 61000-3-2, and harmonic simulation and harmonic filter application using EDSA program for the case study system.
A Design of Full Digital Capacitive Sensing Touch Key Reducing The Effects Due to The Variations of Resistance and Clock Frequency

In this paper, we propose a full digital capacitive sensing touch key reducing the effects due to the variations of resistance and clock frequency. The proposed circuit consists of two capacitive loads to measure and a resistor between the capacitive loads. The method measures the delays of the resistor and two capacitive loads, respectively. The ratio of the two delays is represented as the ratio of the two capacitive loads and is irrelative to the resistance and the clock frequency if quantization error is disregarded. Experimental results show the proposed scheme efficiently reduces the effects due to the variations of clock frequency and resistance. Further more the method has l.04[pF] resolution and can be used as a touch key.

This paper estimates interruption cost assessment for industrial load. For executing In this way first, we research customer interruption cost(CIC) for industrial load about 1,026 unit. And to assess industrial load in D/L calculate sector customer damage function(SCDF) using CIC. Second, we compute distribution reliability through annual failure rate, repair time and so on, and then, Third, distribution system that calculate VBDRA for industrial load per alternative assesses interruption cost.
Analyses of Hazard Voltages According to the Buried Depth of Small-sized Model Grounding Electrode

This paper presents the ground surface potential profiles and hazard voltages around the metallic structure connected to a small-sized model ground electrode. Because it is very difficult to draw valid conclusions concerning a general grounding problem from actual field data, scale model tests can be used to determine the touch and stop voltages and surface potential profiles around ground electrode. In this work, a hemispherical vessel with a diameter of 1,100[mm] was employed to simulate uniform soil. As a result, the ground surface potential around the ground electrode was significantly raised In particular the ground surface potential at the just upper point of ground rod was higher than other points. When the buried depth of ground rod is increased, the ground surface potential and step voltage were lowered but the touch voltage was elevated
Imbedded Type Real-Time Fault Diagnosis for BLDC Motors

In this paper, we propose a fault diagnosis algorithm for BLDC motors by principle component analysis (PCA) and implement a real-time fault diagnosis system for BLDC motors. To verify the proposed diagnosis algorithm, various faulty data are acquired by Lab VIEW program from experimental system. We extract a fault feature using principle component analysis after preprocessing and then finally the fault diagnosis is performed by Euclidean similarity. Also, we embed the PCA algorithm and k-NN classification algorithm into a digital signal processor. From various experiments, we found that the proposed algorithm can be used as a powerful technique to classify the several fault signals acquired from BLDC motors.

This paper describes one of the ways how to decide the initial control parameters after the analog type control system is changed to digital control system. If the old control parameters were already known, the initial control parameters for initial operation could be decided easily. But sometimes, it is very difficult for the control system developer to decide initial parameters before plant machine starts up. In that case, if there is a big difference between initial parameters and optimal parameters, the whole plant itself can be in very dangerous conditions. Here is a very simple experimental method which can be very easy but useful to engineers.
Degradation Properties of ZnO Surge Arresters Due to Lightning Impulse Currents

This paper describes the degradation properties of ZnO surge arresters impressed by lightning impulse currents. To investigate the deterioration behaviors of ZnO surge arresters due to lightning surges, the 8/20[
], 2.5[kA] standard lightning impulse currents were injected to the ZnO surge arrester under test. The power frequency AC and DC leakage currents flowing through the ZnO surge arresters with and without the injection of lightning impulse currents were measured. As a result, the leakage currents are increased and the asymmetry of the AC leakage current is pronounced as the number of injection of the impulse current increases. The ZnO grain of the surge arrester without the injection of lightning surges are uniform but the ZnO grain of the ZnO surge arrester with the injection of lightning impulse currents are deformed. Also, it was found that the decrease of the
due to the lightning impulse current leads to the lack of grain boundary layer and the current concentrated by the lack of grain boundary layer play an important role to degrade nonlinear property of ZnO surge arrester blocks.
Design of Room Lighting Switch Operated by Indirect Touch and Research on the Switching Sensitivity of Dielectric Materials On Electrode Metal

Indirect Touch switch which detects the change of capacitance around the electrode of QT113H chip from QPROX is designed and assembled. Sensitivity analysis of dielectric materials which prevents electrodes from direct touch is performed and the results are displayed in tables and graphs. Glass, acryl, and MDF is used to insulate the electrode and to measure the operating sensitivity of indirect touch switch. While the difference of permittivity of the dielectric materials are large, it is confirmed that the operating sensitivity of each dielectric materials are not so large as the differences of those of dielectric materials.
Development of a Voltage Sag Assessment Program Considering Generator Scheduling and Voltage Tolerance

This paper presents a voltage sag assessment program. The program provides various functions for stochastic assessment of voltage sags such as short-circuit analysis, the determination of the area of vulnerability and the calculation of expected sag frequency(ESF). Effective data visualization functions based on computer graphics and animation were also implemented in the developed program. In this paper, the concept of voltage sag assessment and the assessment method considering generator scheduling and time-varying fault rates are presented. The influence of generator scheduling and time-varying fault rates on voltage sag prediction is also described by performing case studies using the developed program.

The energy efficiency of existing lighting appliances has continuously been improving due to the government aid such as rebate programs and information of energy saving, etc. However, the usage pattern of lighting appliance at this moment has more been increasing higher illumination and indirect lighting method according that the taste of customers has changed variously. This paper estimates the economic evaluation and simulation for FPL45[W] lamp & ballast instead of FPL55 lamp & ballast in order to study the governmental support to demand side management.
