A Study on the Illuminance Distribution on the Pedestrian Road at the Central Business District for Classifying lighting Environments

The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of the CIE standard on lighting environments to Korea. In the field study, horizontal and the vertical illuminance was measured at the pedestrian road in the central business district of a city, and the questionnaires were conducted to get information regarding pedestrian's satisfaction with lighting environment. Four areas were selected for this survey. That areas have different type of pedestrian roads concerning the lighting conditions and the number of walkers. From the results of the measurements, It is known that the illuminance of pedestrian roads is different according to the lighting conditions and the number of poot passengers. Also the results of questionnaires show that the illuminance of the pedestrian roads affect to the pedestrian's satisfaction. Lastly, the CIE standard on lighting environments is applicable to the central business district of the cities in Korea.
An Analysis of Classroom Illuminance with Simulation Program end Improvement of Classroom Illumination

The actual conditions of school illumination was investigated. The illumination state was classified by the number of installed luminaires per 1 classroom. The illuminance was measured and analyzed. The work surface illuminance was up to the standard, but the illuminance on blackboard was below standard when there was no local lighting. As a result of conducting a simulation based on the measurement of the reflection factors of the classroom finishing materials and lamp replacement and lamp cleaning, nine luminaires for general lighting and local lighting for the blackboard were required, and a design considering illumination maintenance was called for.
Ignition Characteristics Analysis According to the Cable length Between the Ignition and Lamp

We compared 3 kinds of ignitor characteristics and represented the procedure in order to turn the HID lamp on. Also, we analysed the cable characteristic based on the length between ignitor and the HID lamp and proved it theoretically. In practice, the ignition voltage contains a lot of problems because it is easily changed by the structure of ignitors, cable length and characteristics. In this paper, therefore, 3 ignitors, which are LC resonant typed, arc-gap circuit typed and drive frequency variable typed, have simulated and analysed with the 25[m] cable length. After careful consideration of comparisons made of all the ignitors' and cables' characteristics, a number of possible solutions were finalized.
Development of on Intelligent Automatic Door System Using Ultrasonic Sensors

This paper proposes an ultrasonic sensor based intelligent automatic door system which improves the performance of conventional door systems by adding more intelligent functions such that it offers more convenience to passersby and reduces power loss. The conventional automatic door systems employed passive and active infrared sensors for detecting objects and human bodies. But, they have problems such as power loss in door closing, not sensing fast approaching objects, and safety. The proposed automatic door system with ultrasonic sensors prevents unnecessary door closings to save the power and senses fast approaching objects to open the door at proper time, and improves safety. Thus, the proposed system improves the performance of the conventional systems in terms of operation, economy, and safety.
A Study on Fault Model end Performance Evaluation under Power Switch Open Fault in an Inverter-Driven Permanent Magnets Synchronous Motor

To analyze influences under open faults in switching devices of the PWM inverter and under the isolation between the inverter and motor terminal, a faulty model for the inverter-driven permanent magnet synchronous motor is presented. Even though the conventional dq motor model obtained through the transformation of phase voltage model is widely used to analyze and control AC motor, it can not be used under open faults in switching devices since the 3-phase balanced condition is no longer hold under the open fault and it is not easy to obtain motor input voltages in open phase from the pole voltage. To deal with this problem, a faulty model for an inverter-driven permanent magnet synchronous motor is derived by using the line voltage of motor according to switch open, which can be effectively used for performance evaluation of the diagnostic algorithm. The validity of the proposed faulty model is verified through comparative simulations and experiments using DSP TMS320F28335.

When a fire breaks out, it is frequent that large sized miserable death is happened by seriousness of poisonous gas and peculiarity of space because the building construction is recently more complex and diverse. So early countermeasure in preparation for evacuation escape linked directly with a loss of lives is pressing. Because escape light that mark fixing one-way of existing way is not efficiently extricated refugees from dangers when a fire breaks out, construction of system that can extricate refugees from dangers and suppress early a fire by grasping correctly fire point is required urgently. When a fire breaks out, all escape lights connected with fire sensor and reception group which have ill aiming in these point will lead people to safe emergency entrance of opposite direction of place that a fire is broken out after being calculated the direction and speed of flame and smoke. There is the purpose of my research in development of artificial intelligent directional escape light that can mark direction to most suitable pull-out and assist in early extinguishing a fire.
Analysis on the Characteristics of a Toroidal Switched Reluctance Motor

In this paper study on a toroidal switched reluctance motor(TSRM) is described. The structure of the TSRM is different from that of a conventional SRM The main windings of the TSRM are wound around york of the stator while those of the conventional SRM are wound around its stator poses. Therefore the TSRM has many advantages and drive system, winding connection, inductance, drive method, torque, current waveform of the TSRM are different from those of the conventional SRM In this paper, the TSRM is analysed by simulation and experiment.
Grounding Impedance Behaviors Associated with the Current Injection Point and the Length of Counterpoise

This paper presents the grounding impedance behaviors of counterpoise exposed to impulse currents. The transient and conventional grounding impedances of three counterpoises having the length of 10, 30 and 50[m] were measured and analyzed as a function of the injection point of impulse currents. As a result, the trend of the conventional grounding impedances measured as a function of injection of impulse current is similar to the transient grounding impedance of counterpoise. The injection point of impulse current has great influence on the transient grounding impedance characteristics of counterpoise. The transient grounding impedance characteristics in a short time range are strongly dependent on the length of counterpoise. The transient characteristics of grounding impedance of 10[m] counterpoise subjected to the impulse current was capacitive behavior, on the other hand, those of 30[m] and 50[m] counterpoises were inductive behavior. It is found that the grounding conductor should be connected to the central point of counterpoise.
A Basic Study for the Fire Potentiality in Wire being Applied Electric Current

In total electric fire in Korea in 2006, a rate of the electric fire caused of short in electric wire is over 63.2[%]. It is needed to study a fire potentiality in electric wire. This paper studies contact and fire potentiality between a electric wire and conductors existed around the electric wire. As amplitude of current in electric wire is bigger, as it has higher possibility to contact between a electric wire and conductors existed around the electric wire. In case of temperature of wire is over combustion point of outer sheath, it is appeared to spark discharge between wire and conductors. So the fire potentiality raise up.
Characteristics Analysis of Transient Impedances of Small-sized Ground Electrodes in a Ionization Region of Soil

This paper presents measurement results of transient impedance for small-sized ground electrodes in a discharge region of soil. For a realistic analysis of ionization characteristics near the ground electrode, three types of ground rod installed outdoors and high voltage impulse generator were used for injecting test current. From the analysis of response voltage and current flowing ground electrode to earth, it is verified that the ionization near the ground electrode contributes to reduction of ground impedance and limits the ground potential rise effectively in high resistivity soil. As a threshold electric field density for ionization is small in low resistivity soil, the shape of ground electrode rarely contributes to the transient impedance. And, from the experiment result with shape of ground electrode, the rod with needles is more effective to reduce the transient impedance than the plate electrode in the voltage range including with ionization regions of soil.

This paper shows a reasonable power density, that was made by the systematic and statistical way considering actual conditions, such as investigated power consumption capacity for the year and peak power, contract power for the last 5 years of each customer for 23 general customers all data obtained by AMR. In this dissertation, it is necessary to analyze the key features from the investigated data. It made an analysis of the feature parameters, such as average, standard deviation, median, maximum, minimun and load factor.
A Study on Flux Switching Motor drive for Fan Application with Advance angle

A new class of electronically commutated brushless motor, the flux-switching motor(FSM) is gradually emerging in power tools and household appliances especially fan and pump application because of green policy. This motor offers advantages of high-power density and relatively high efficiency compare with induction motor, low cost and simple motor structure compare with bldc motor. This paper presents the principle of the FSM and design of the 12/6 pole FSM drive system for fan application. Finally, test results of the prototype motor are provided to verify a validity of the fan application with TMS320F2812 DSP and inverter.
A Fundamental Study on Feasibility of The Noise on Express Highway As Electrical Power Source

Wind power, Solar power and Fuel cell is the representative of new and renewal energy sources. In this paper, the frictional noise made by vehicles tire on roads is considered and researched as alternative electrical generation source. The amplitude and waveform of generated electricity with various types of vehicles according to their velocity, weight and distances between vehicles and sensor are measured and analyzed. As a result, all difference effects mentioned above which make the frictional noise affect quality and quantity of generated electricity. Maximum 0.53[V] and 0.028[W] electricity was generated by truck with 100[km/h] velocity on the express way.
Insulation Aging Characteristic Assessment on the Power cables with the Comparative Analysis Between Destructive and Nondestructive Diagnosis

The insulation aging characteristics and structural analysis test were performed to analyze the correlations among the insulation deterioration, diagnostic results and the breakdown strength for the underground power cables. From the results of the degree of crosslinking test, hot-oil test etc., it could be confirmed that there were no manufacturing defects in the power cables under test. From the results of the water tree test and chemical structural analysis, it could be confirmed that the aging status of cable under test were very poor, especially for B-Phase and the degree of aging was increased in the orders of A, C and B-phase. From the above results, it could be concluded that the insulation aging characteristic analysis results were well consistent with the diagnostic and breakdown test results, and also confirmed that the diagnostic system under consideration was successful to discriminate the bad cables which is likely to cause cable system failure.
A Study on 3[kW] PMA-RSG Optimal Design for Mobile Power Supply

In this paper, an analytical model using equivalent magnetic circuits for the PMA-SynRG is presented. The lumped parameter model (LPM) is developed from machine geometry, stator winding and machine operating specifications. By the LPM, magnetic saturation of rotor bridges is incorporated into model and it provides effective means of predicting machine performance for a given machine geometry. The LPM is not as accurate as finite element analysis but the equivalent magnetic circuits provide fast means of analyzing electromagnetic characteristics of PMa-SynRG. It is the main advantage to find the initial design and optimum design. The initial design of PMa_RSG is performed by LPM model and FEM analysis, and the final PMA-RSG design is optimized and identified by FEM analysis considering actual machine design. The linear LPM and the nonlinear LPM are programmed using MATLAB and all of machine parameters are calculated very quickly. To verify justification of the proposed design of PMa-RSM, back-EMF is measured.
Strength Characteristics of the Vertical and Inclined Concrete Pole

In order to know the range of install possibles of the horizontal stay without general stay, strength characteristic tests were performed for the Vertical and 80[
] inclined concrete poles. From the results of one cycle strength tests, the safety factors were 2.8, 2.5 and 2.1 for the poles of general load, heavy load and high strength load, respectively. However, the crack was occurred when the bending bounds of upper part of pole was above 2[
], and working load was similar to the rated load of pole at this time. Therefore, it could be concluded that the reinforcement by the installation of the stay and the support was necessary certainly, if the bending bounds of pole, which was installed on a solid foundation, are above 2[
