A Study of the Development of Lighting Equipment on Low Height Road Lighting

This study is intended to propose the environment friendly lighting which can be excluded the element of obtrusive light(glare, spill light) and to make the sight environment of the external and internal road more comfortable as newly approaching the lower positioned lighting from the current high pole lighting. Taking account of the current situation of putting the stress on the road sight scene. It is proposed the study focused on the aesthetic design for playing a role of scenery. For this, it is searched used situation of the low light at interior of the country and abroad and tried to find the improvement. Also it is tried find out how to raise the effectiveness. And throughout the site inspection and the data searching about the road facility of a road to be installed the low height lighting, it is suggested the standard of the lighting installation and the direction for the future on the light design and development of the low height lighting which is suitable for the domestic situation.
Implementation of LED BLU Using Metal core PCB with Anodizing Oxide Layer and Reflection Cup Structure

LED BLU(Back Light Unit), based on MCPCB(Metal Core Printed Circuit Board) with anodizing oxide dielectric layer and improved thermal dissipation property, are presented. Reflecting cups were also formed on the surface of the MCPCB such that optical coupling between neighboring chips were minimized for improving the photon extraction efficiency. LED chips were directly attached on the MCPCB by using the COB (Chip On Board) scheme.
Measurement of Time-Varying Failure Rate for Power Distribution System Equipment Considering Weather Factor

In this paper, the time-varying failure rate to consider climate effect was extracted. Even if the same kind of equipments is estimated for extracting the time-varying failure rate, the failure rates could be different depending on external effect such as climate. With the consequence, the failure rate extracted to consider the climate effect is necessary for using the failure rate on the optimal investment plan or asset management, To consider the characteristic of climate effects(Classified into 5 categories, heavy rain, thunderbolt, strong wind, tidal waves, no character), the survey of officers charging the operation of equipment in KEPCO branch office was done. With this consequence, this paper suggest the failure rate extraction method to consider the climate effect analyzed by the survey.
Fast Maximum Efficiency Control of Vector-Controlled Induction Motor Drives

Magnetic fluxes for maximum efficiency are calculated at five operating points as speed and torque are varied. The surface of magnetic flux for maximum efficiency is calculated by using the five points, Then, maximum efficiency control is fulfilled with the magnetic flux calculated from the surface of magnetic flux at a given speed and torque. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Transient Grounding Impedance Characteristics of a Copper Rod-type Grounding Electrode used for Electric Distribution Systems Using EDSA Program

Grounding insures a reference potential point for electric devices and also provides a law resistance path for fault or transient currents in the earth. The ground impedance as a function of frequency is necessary for determining its performance since fault or transient currents could contain a wide range of frequencies. A copper rod electrode is the most commonly used grounding electrode in electric distribution systems. In this paper, the grounding impedance of copper rods has been measured in frequency raging from 60[Hz] up to 100 [kHz] and an equivalent model of the grounding impedance is identified from the measured values. The grounding impedance under study when a typical lightning surge is injected into the grounding system was simulated numerically and graphically through the use of the EDSA software program.
High Performance Control of IPMSM using SV-PWM Method Based on HAI Controller

This paper presents the high performance control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) using space vector(SV) PWM method based on hybrid artificial intelligent(HAI) controller. The HAI controller combines the advantages between adaptive fuzzy control and neural network The SV PWM method is applied to a speed control system of motor in the industry field until now and is feasible to improve harmonic rate of output current, switching frequency and response characteristics. This HAI controller is used instead of conventional PI controller in order to solve problems happening when calculating a reference voltage. The HAI controller improves speed performance by hybrid combination of reference model-based adaptive mechanism method, fuzzy control and neural network. This paper analyzes response characteristics of parameter variation, steady-state and transient-state using proposed HAI controller and this controller compares with conventional fuzzy neural network(FNN) and PI controller. Also, this paper proves validity of HAI controller.

The power IT project "Development of Prototype for Advanced Substation Automation System based on the Digital Control Technology", is going on how to perform the verification of a IEC 61850 based Merging Unit for development of the full Substation Automation system from station bus to process bus. the testing method that this paper suggests, is including the conformance testing of IEC 61850 communication services and transmission functions of digital sampled values such as current and voltage, and referring to IEC 61850 conformance testing of IED. And finally, the paper shows a test system for the Merging Unit.

This paper presents the power conversion system for TIG-welder using the fuel cell stack Generally, power supply for TIG-welder uses the front-ended diode bridge rectifier by common AC power source. In this case, power supply of TIG-welder increases in volume because of using bulky capacitor and diode-rectifier. Also, input current includes ripple and harmonics. Moreover, TIG-welder will be demand the power supply with lightweight and easy movement in the areas like as the islands and mountainous areas or the special environment are not use common AC power source. Thus, input power of the power conversion system for TIG-welder is used PEMFC(Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell), and the power conversion system is comprised of full-bridge converter with function of boost converter and inverter welding source, in this paper. The proposed power conversion system which is power supply for TIG-welder was verified by computer simulations and experiments.
HIPI Controller of IPMSM Drive using ALM-FNN

The conventional fixed gain PI controller is very sensitive to step change of command speed, parameter variation and load disturbances. The precise speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive becomes a complex issue due to nonlinear coupling among its winding currents and the rotor speed as well as the nonlinear electromagnetic developed torque. Therefore, there exists a need to tune the PI controller parameters on-line to ensure optimum drive performance over a wide range of operating conditions. This paper proposes hybrid intelligent-PI(HIPI) controller of IPMSM drive using adaptive learning mechanism(ALM) and fuzzy neural network(FNN). The proposed controller is developed to ensure accurate speed control of IPMSM drive under system disturbances and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The PI controller parameters are optimized by ALM-FNN at all possible operating condition in a closed loop vector control scheme, The validity of the proposed controller is verified by results at different dynamic operating conditions.
Magnetic Saliency Estimation of SMPM Motor for Precise Torque Control using State-Filter in Flux-Weakening Operation

The magnetic saliency effect in surface-mounted permanent-magnet (SMPM) motors on the torque control at high speeds is first presented and analyzed in this paper. The d- and q- axes impedance are measured by proposed State-Filter. Measurement of the d- and q- axes impedance difference is performed to prove the existence of the magnetic saliency. Then, the saliency effects on the torque control performance in the flux weakening region are discussed. Based on the developed motor modeling with the reluctance torque, the proposed control adjusts the d- and q-axis current toward the operating point to track the commanded torque. The feasibility of the presented idea is verified by experimental results on a commercial 600[W] SMPM motor.
The Application and Seismic Design Method of Electrical Facility Installed in the Building

In the case of that not considered seismic design at transformer vault which is equipped with many important electrical facilities, the facility is damaged, electrical fire breaks out and another damage may be caused due to earthquake. But seismic design has not yet applied to transformer vault in the country. Regard to seismic design method of electrical facility installed inside the building, the seismic design procedures for electrical facility is presented in this parer, which has been developed by referring "Building design standard" of domestic code and "Manual of seismic design and construction for building electrical facility" in japan. This paper may help engineers perform detail seismic design, construction and reliability inspection of electrical pipes and facilities.
A Design of Capacitive Sensing Touch Sensor Using RC Delay with Calibration

In this paper, we propose a full digital capacitive sensing touch key reducing the effects due to the variations of resistance and clock frequency. The proposed circuit consists of two capacitive loads to measure and a resistor between the capacitive loads. The method measures the delays of the resistor and two capacitive loads, respectively. The ratio of the two delays is represented as the ratio of the two capacitive loads and is irrelative to the resistance and the clock frequency if quantization error is disregarded. Experimental results show the proposed scheme efficiently reduces the effects due to the variations of clock frequency and resistance. Further more the method has 1.04[pF] resolution and can be used as a touch key.
Effects of Ac Mutual Coupling According to Location of Auxiliary Electrodes In Measuring the Ground Impedance of Vertically or Horizontally Buried Ground Electrode

In order to minimize ac mutual coupling, the auxiliary electrode are located at a right angle in measuring ground impedance. In case that the measurement space is limited, the alternative method is employed. At that time, it is necessary to investigate the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling and earth mutual resistance in measuring the ground impedances. `This paper presents the measurement accuracy according to the location of the current and potential auxiliary electrodes in measuring ground impedance of vertically or horizontally buried ground electrode. The measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling were evaluated Consequently, the effect of ac mutual coupling on the measurement accuracy for horizontally buried ground electrode is greater than that for vertically buried ground electrode. Measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling is the largest when the current and potential auxiliary electrodes are located in parallel. The 61.8[%] rule is inappropriate in measuring ground measurement. Theoretically, in case that the angle between the current and potential auxiliary electrodes is 90
, there is no ac mutual coupling. If it is not possible to route the current and potential auxiliary electrodes at a right angle with limitation of measurement space, the location of these electrodes with an obtuse angle is preferred to that with an acute angle in reducing the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling.

Cogeneration means the highly energy-efficient generation system that improves energy ratio by generating electricity and heat, and it really affects the improvement of overall efficiency by using industrial process, district heating, and hot-water supply etc. after the energy produced through supplying power to system collects. This thesis indicates the screen of cogeneration flow in LabVIEW and the heat power control system that can be in long-distance control of a district energy system using TCP/IP. We simulated on four computers so that the heat power control system proves long-distance control possible.

This paper presents equipment that can exchange watt-hour meters without outage for customers, It is simpler than other methods to avoid outage during exchange. Furthermore, it has protective function to ensure customer`s facility from engineer mistake. Because of good point mentioned above, it can improve efficiency and safety. Adopting developed equipment can ensure continuous electric power supply to customers.

In this paper, economic analysis of Energy Storage System for power system is performed. Economic analysis is performed to show the benefits of Energy Storage System. Results illustrate the advantages of Energy Storage System not only acting as an alternative generation resource but also giving a better reliability and stability in power system.
The Analysis on Audible Noise Level and Cooling Performance for the Low Noise Cooling Fan of Power Transformers

Recently, there has been a growing global interest in environmental conservation, and the field of electric power equipment has been working to become more environment-friendly. Accordingly, the low noise cooling fan of power transformers was developed through the improvement of blade shape. These are expected to apply to existing power transformers and low noise transformers. It is essential for low noise fan to possess good cooling performance as well as low audible noises. But, there was not analysis on the audible noise level and the cooling performance for low noise cooling fans until present. In this paper, we measure the audible noise level and the flow rate of low noise cooling fans to inspect the performance, Also, we confirmed that the low noise cooling fan is available to apply to power transformers through temperature rise tests of power transformers.
Modeling and Voltage Variation Simulation of a Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Generator Wind Turbine Systems

This study performs modelling and simulation of permanent magnetic synchronous generator wind turbine by using Matlab & Simulink. In simulation, change of wind velocity, change of load, and voltage decrease of infinite bus are performed. Through such simulation, different with wiring system that there is only existing load, this study can confirm problems and voltage changing characteristics, which can occur in distributed electric power that load and electric power is mixed and operated, especially, in interconnecting with wind power generation.

Recently, there has been a growing global interest in environmental conservation, and the field of electric power equipment has been working to become more environment-friendly. Accordingly the 154[kV] low noise transformer is developed through the research. The low noise transformer decreases the audible noise level but the low noise transformer has several changes in the increase of weight and volume and the application of rubber damper. Therefore it is necessary to inspect the test, transportation, installation and operation about field application. In this paper, we investigate the standards of the audible noise level, the weight and volume of the transportation, the installation space and operation in order for effective field application.
