The luminous flux, luminous efficacy, correlated color temperature, color rendering index and thermal resistance of developed LED was evaluated, and it verified the application of products by applying it to 120W-LED road luminaires through simulation. The luminous efficacy of LED package reached over 130lm/W, and it is possible to be manufactured into 120W-LED road luminaires using 18 packages. In addition, the simulation results showed average of horizontal illuminance and overall illuminance uniformity that is suitable for three-lane road.
Experimental Evaluation of the Lighting Environment for Main Activities of the Residents in Living Room

The position of the light source, illuminance distribution, and color temperature were evaluated in each lighting environment for the three main activities in a living room - 'watching TV,' 'reading' and 'relaxing.' In 'watching TV', the experiment was done to estimate the degree of comfort felt by the subjects when they watch static video and moving video, respectably, with different ambient brightness, with or without partial lighting above the TV set, and with different color temperatures. In 'reading', the comfortableness was estimated by the illuminance ratio of the ambient lighting to the lighting for reading and by the difference in color temperature. And in 'relaxing', the comfortableness was estimated by means of the ambient brightness, use/no use of a relaxing lamp, and color temperature. This experiment determined the general satisfaction for each visual act and the optimum lighting environment to reduce glare.
Driving Method for Dimming of LED Lamps using Selectively Charged Charge Pump

A new LED lamp driving technology with a charge pump instead of a conventional DC-DC converter is proposed. The proposed driving technology is used to control the LED lamp with digital dimming. The power loss in the zener diodes is reduced because the charging process of the capacitors is selectively controlled according to the digital control signal. From the experimental results, when dimming four LED lamps simultaneously, the average driving circuit efficiency of 89% is obtained, regardless of the dimming level. White light with color temperature over a range of 2800~7200K was produced by dimming control of red, green, blue and amber LED lamps with the proposed driving circuit. The characteristics of the driving circuits can be changed depending on the characteristics of the R, G, B, and A LED lamps. The efficiency of the driving circuits up to a maximum 89% can also be obtained depending on the combination of LED lamps. The driving technology with digital dimming control for LED lamps proposed in this paper would be effective for obtaining high efficiency in LED driving circuits and remote control of LED lamps using digital communications.
Comparative Study of Emotion Evaluation Based on Lighting Scenario of Office, Meeting Room, Lounge, and OA Room

In this study, we collected the emotion vocabulary novel related to the LED system light emotion and the existing terms through previous research, targeting professionals and KJ method, we selected emotion term of 35 kinds. Targeting this east Foreigner, we compared the emotion evaluation by changing the lighting elements in accordance office, meeting room, lounge, the OA room different behavior patterns. The results, showing the difference between the results of emotion existing research generally derived factors three axes "future, functionality" See, "stability", "activity". As a result of the comparison of the emotion of the East and the West, the Oriental, functional aspects of the LED system light of space office, meeting room, lounge is drawn most, On the other hand, Westerners, come up, stable surface shows the difference in accidentally. Based on these results, the future, and tries to utilized to evaluate the emotion reaction of the illumination elements each Test-Bed actual.
A Study on the Harmonic Characteristics of SMPS Load in LED Display Board

The prevalence of electronic devices in our modern life is accompanied with the generation of harmonics caused by the nonlinear characteristic load. Especially, the employment of LED have brought the rapid use of SMPS. SMPS is used for supplying the constant DC electric power to the LED display board, but it has a big problem which gives birth of harmonics causing by its high-speed switching. measurement HIOKI 3196 equipment to solve these harmonics were measured. In this study, we are LED Display Board Load Measuring the impedance response with
changes for removing harmonics in the measured. And we adopted the suitable passive filter by the impedance response characteristic obtained in the
variation experiments. We are trying to deeply the application of passive harmonic filter characteristics that generation in the LED Display Board through EDSA LED simulation.
Development of 10kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator for Small Hydropower Generation

This paper presents the development of 10 kW permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) for small hydropower plants considering flow rates and net head. The initial and detailed design are determined using a load distribution method (LDM) which is a well-known method for designing an electric machine and a 2D-FEA which is performed for more accurate analysis of PMSG. The characteristic analysis results of proposed model with straight line magnet are satisfied with the initial model with curved magnet. Finally, the analysis and the design results are confirmed by the experimental results.

This paper propose a improved operating characteristics of the 5-phase 5kW within developed the surface permanent mount synchronous generator (SPMSG) in order to make a study of a polyphase ac motors keeping hold of more advantages. The developed manufacturing motor was necessary to do improvement of voltage regulation, efficiency, operating characteristics, and so on at the rated load. There are remake a redesigned and distributed stator winding connection without changing the frames of stator and rotor core in previous established generator by a repeat tests. There are shown a amplitude and waveform of the generated electromotive force, FFT analysis of harmonics within output voltages, and reviewing a experiment results in load of resistive and 5-phase induction motor by variable generator output frequency.
Design and Analysis of Permanent Magnet Double-Sided Linear Synchronous Motor with Perpendicular Arrangement

In this paper, a new linear synchronous motor - permanent magnet double-sided synchronous motor with perpendicular arrangement (PMDLSM), was proposed. It was designed to account for the drawbacks of conventional linear motors, such as the normal force and end effects. The detent force and the thrust were analyzed for different combinations of primary core modules and magnet poles of the machine, and the optimum combination was made. The characteristics of the perpendicular PMDLSM were analyzed by finite element method, and the experiments agreed well with the analysis.
A Variable Step Size Incremental Conductance MPPT of a Photovoltaic System Using DC-DC Converter with Direct Control Scheme

This paper presents a novel maximum power point tracking for a photovoltaic power (PV) system with a direct control plan. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) must usually be integrated with photovoltaic (PV) power systems so that the photovoltaic arrays are able to deliver maximum available power. The maximum available power is tracked using specialized algorithms such as Perturb and Observe (P&O) and incremental Conductance (indCond) methods. The proposed method has the direct control of the MPPT algorithm to change the duty cycle of a dc-dc converter. The main difference of the proposed system to existing MPPT systems includes elimination of the proportional-integral control loop and investigation of the effect of simplifying the control circuit. The proposed method thus has not only faster dynamic performance but also high tracking accuracy. Without a conventional controller, this method can control the dc-dc converter. A simulation model and the direct control of MPPT algorithm for the PV power system are developed by Matlab/Simulink, SimPowerSystems and Matlab/Stateflow.
A Development and Performance Test of Voltage Measurement Accuracy Assessment System for Distribution Equipment

Power distribution system has been changed from radial system to closed loop or mesh system due to connection of distributed generation growth. Data from distribution equipments which are installed at distribution line is required to be accurate for the performance of DMS(Distribution Management System). This paper analyzes the voltage measurement data from distribution equipment. However, the results of the analysis are confirmed to have some errors in voltage measurement data from distribution equipment. These errors come from aging of voltage sensor in distribution equipment and inaccurate data transfer to FRTU(feeder remote terminal unit) through the controller. The main problem is that the voltage measurement data of distribution equipment can not be assessed after it's first installation at the distribution line. The voltage measurement accuracy assessment system is to assess the voltage measurement data from distribution equipment on hot-line. This study had a field test to verify the performance of system.
The Effectiveness Analysis of the Resistive Leakage Current Monitoring by Analyzing the Phase of the Body Current

To analyze the effectiveness of the resistive leakage current monitoring as a technology preventing electrical accidents, in this paper, we have estimated the phase of the body impedance by using the body impedance model and the body impedance data from IEC. We also have analyzed the phase of the electric body current in the case of 60Hz/220V. From these results, we concluded that deliberate researches about the phase of the electrical body current and related regulations must be carried out before the resistive leakage current monitoring unit is used to protect electric shock. And we concluded that the resistive leakage current monitoring unit can be utilized to prevent electrical fires caused by electric leakage current without unwanted circuit break due to capacitive leakage current flowing from line filter capacitors to the earth.
A Study on the Optimal Reactive Power Calculation Method of Induction Generator for Marine Small Hydraulic Power

Since the West Sea experiences a big difference in tides, the output power of the small marine hydroelectric power plant varies with the tide. When an induction generator is used here for small hydroelectric power, the reactive power capacitor should be installed at the generator main bus to compensate for the changes in power. As such, the sizing method for the power compensation of the induction generator is reviewed and an optimal method for compensation is suggested. The self-excitation minimum capacitor capacity method, which prevents high voltages, and the power factor automatic control method, which retains a power factor of greater than 90% are reviewed. The compensation effect of reactive power is confirmed through a case study.
Development Pole Transformer with Automatic Tap Changer

Change of supply voltage, customer load, output of distributed generation, etc cause voltage change in distribution system. OLTC and SVR are usually used to supply normal voltage at customer. But usage of these devices is inefficient and uneconomical in certain circumstances. To solve this problem, new pole transformer which has automatic tap changer is developed. The transformer changes tap when voltage changes. And it has latch switch and reactor for supplying power without outage. To verify normal operation of tap changer, test is conducted. SVR and 50kVA load is used for test.
