Aging-Time Dependence of Color Rendering Index of a LED Lamp for Lighting

We measured color rendering index(CRI) of a LED lamp for lighting for aging-time. We chose bulb type white LED lamp six samples and halogen lamp one sample and applied 220V, 60Hz to all the samples for 1,000hours at ordinary temperature. The CRI was measured every 20hours and the CRI change of the LED lamp was compared with the halogen lamp`s CRI change. As time goes, efficiency of the halogen lamp decreased and the CRI maintained uniformly. The other hand, efficiency of the LED lamp decreased but the CRI increased. The CRI of the LED lamp has been stabilized since 600hours. The CRI change of the LED lamp was analyzed with a spectrum, color coordinate and color temperature.

As issues on light pollution is being raised recently, movements to prevent light pollution is being implemented by each local government, such as by enforcing the Light Pollution Act from February 2013, in order to require compliance with the light-emitting permission level of existing lighting facilities. However, despite the regulations, no specific measures on products are being prepared. Thus, this Research has designed a light shield as a measure to minimize the burden of the effectiveness and time required for development and the burden of the cost necessary to re-install existing light facilities in its entirety and reviewed the effect of the measure through the BUG ratings.

In this paper, tried to find out the proper luminous intensity distribution for the cabin with low-level height by analyzing the changing tendency of discomfort glare according to luminous intensity distribution of marine indoor luminaires using Unified Glare Rating(UGR). First, we analyzed UGR of the indoor luminaires in the existing cabin, and then evaluated influence on luminous intensity distributions of marine indoor luminaire. The results showed that
distribution got almost low UGR results regardless of height and UGR 16.5 in cabin height of 2m. However, Gaussian distribution with the same beam angle showed that UGR results consistently increased by getting lower height and UGR 20.7 in the same height. In conclusion, the
distribution in consideration of luminous intensity on the direction of observer`s eye was appropriate for general cabin indoor luminaires because it decreased UGR in the low-level height.
A Study on the Proper Number of Banks of Parallel Operation of Transformer in Large-scale Power Plants Using the High Temperature Fuel Cell Considering the Internal Failure

High temperature fuel cell system, such as molten carbonate fuel cells(MCFC) and solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC), are capable of operating at MW rated power output. The power output change of high temperature fuel cell imposes the thermal and mechanical stresses on the fuel cell stack. To minimize the thermal-mechanical stresses on the stack and increase the systems reliability, we should divide the power plant configuration to several banks. However, the improvement of reliability in fuel cell power plant system causes an increase of the investment cost, for example, replacement costs, labor costs, and so on. For this reason - the balance between investment and reliability improvement - many studies about the appropriate level of investment have been conducted. In this paper, we evaluate the cost for operation and installation, the benefit for electric energy and thermal energy sales, and the system reliability for several cases : these cases relate with the bank configuration.
A Study on the Characteristic Analysis of Hybrid Choke Coil suitable for LED-TV SMPS

This paper presents the intra capacitance modeling according to the winding method, section bobbin and coil structure for hybrid choke coil capable of the EMI attenuation of broad bands from lower frequency bands to higher frequency bands and high frequency type common-mode choke coil capable of the EMI attenuation of high frequency band used in the EMI Block of LED-TV SMPS. In case of high frequency type CM choke coil, it can be explained the parasitic capacitance of A type and section bobbin type winding methods among them is much smaller than the other. The first resonant frequency of the proposed CM choke coil tends to increase as the parasitic capacitance becomes small and its impedance characteristics also show improved performance as the first resonant frequency increases. In case of hybrid choke coil using rectangular copper wire, it has investigated its parasitic capacitance compared to CM choke coil of conventional toroidal type becomes small. Also it has confirmed through the experiment results that CE margin and RE margin in frequency bands 0.5MHz to 5MHz and 30MHz to 200MHz are respectively 10dB and 15dB greater than that of conventional type in case of one stage EMI filter structure adopting hybrid choke coil compared to two stage EMI Filter structure using two of each CM choke coil used in the lower and higher frequency bands or two of CM choke coil used in only the lower frequency bands. In the future, the hybrid choke coil and CM choke coil of high frequency type show it can be practically used in not only LED/LCD-TV SMPS but also several applications such as LED Lighting, Laptop Adapter, Server Power Supply and so on.
A Study on Benefit Sides of Demand Response Customer Baseline with Outdoor Temperature Variable about Load Aggregator

This paper describes reasonable methods by considering change of outdoor temperature into Customer Baseline Load(CBL) of Demand Resources in Smart Demand Resource Market, which controls peak power demand and maintains reliability of power system. The Smart Demand Resouce Market, which KPX(Korea Power Exchange) implement, is explained and then effects for CBL calculated by considering temperature correction factor are established. Finally, four methods for calculation of CBL are proposed and those results are compared and analyzed.
Improvement of Power Spectrum in Ultrashort Pulse Reflectometry Signals Using Three Chirp Configuration

The flat power spectrum of the transmitter output signal for the desired frequency range is ideal to achieve the best performance of ultrashort pulse reflectometry. However, the power spectrum of a typical pulse generator decreases significantly as frequency increases. A configuration of three chirped waveforms was employed to improve the power spectrum of the transmitter signal at higher frequencies. To determine the amplification gain required for higher frequency components, three chirped waveforms were theoretically generated and their power spectra were measured using numerical band-pass filters. Based on the results of numerical computations, the three chirp configuration was successfully applied to the design of the transmitter for a broadband system.

A single-inverted-pendulum model is presented to simulate and predict the passive response of human balance control. This simplified biomechanical model was comprised of a torsional spring and damper, and a lump mass. An estimation of frequency response function was conducted to parameterize the complexity. The frequency domain identification method is used to identify the parameters of the model. The equivalent viscoelastic parameters of standing body were obtained and there was good conformity between the simulation and experimental result.
A Study on the Power Loss Cost of Inner-Grid in the Offshore Wind Farm

The cross-section area of cable in the Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) is smaller than that in the onshore wind farm. Because the power loss in OWF is large relatively, the power loss is a key element for the economic evaluation of OWF design. The availability of wind turbine in OWF and the size of OWF are larger than those of onshore wind farm. If the economic evaluation of OWF ignores the availability of wind turbines, the power loss cost of OWF is overpriced. Since there are so many wind turbines, also, the calculation of power loss should be more accurate. In this paper, a method to calculate power loss is proposed for the design of big and complex inner-grid in OWF. The 99.5MW OWF is used for case study to see what effect the proposed method have on the power loss cost.
UV Detecting according to Corona Discharge Intensity using UV Sensor

To minimize the financial loss due to power facility malfunction, on-line diagnostic techniques are required to grasp any abnormal state of facilities in the live line as well as devices to diagnose abnormal states of power facility in an easy and prompt manner. This study aims to develop a portable UV detecting system by means of UV sensors for easier and efficient inspection of the degradation state of power facility in a long distance. Accordingly, it includes a simulation of corona discharges that may occur due to degradation of power facility and detection of ultraviolet pulse generation depending on the corona discharge intensity and measuring distance in application of UV sensors. Additionally, the optimal algorithm is determined for its application to the system`s degradation diagnosis program based on the measured experiment data.
A Study on the Comparison of Denoising Performance of Stationary Wavelet Transform for Discharge Signal Data in Cast-resin Transformer

The partial discharge of Cast-resin Transformer has a difficulty to be analyzed, because it is an abnormal condition signal of which stochastic characteristics varies with time variance. In this study, background noise coming from the outside of the cast-resin transformers through ground wire can be removed and only a discharge signal of which defects are simulated can be obtained, using the wavelet transform method, which is a time-frequency domain analysis technique. As a result, it was confirmed that de-noising using the SWT technique is the best efficient among three methods of the wavelet transform techniques.
Analysis of Impulse Withstand Voltage Performance of Lighting Equipment

Modern electronic circuits are becoming more vulnerable to damage by surges, and it is required to improve the impulse withstand voltage performance of electrical and electronic equipment. This paper presents the impulse withstand voltage performance of lighting equipment connected to power lines, and the impulse withstand voltage tests for fluorescent lamp, LED lamp and halogen lamp were carried out according to the reference standards under normal service conditions. To conduct performance tests against lightning surge, a combination wave (
current) was employed. The test surge was applied between lines or between line and ground of the specimen to be measured. The test surge was applied synchronized at the peak value of the positive and negative AC voltage waves. As a consequence, some specimens satisfied the impulse withstand voltage test criteria, but lighting equipment such as 36W fluorescent lamps, 5W and 5.5W LED lamps and 50W halogen lamp were damaged at the test voltage levels between power lines. It is needed to improve the qualities of lighting equipment to satisfy EMC immunity requirements of equipment for general lighting purposes.
