A Study on the Calculation of Optimal Subsidy for LED Appliance using Diffusion Model

Korea`s electricity supply and demand policy has focusing on electricity demand side management instead of the expanding supply and a lot of effort for LED(Light Emitting Diode) at the time. This paper calculated the optimal subsidy for LED spread. For this purpose, it analyzed the impact on spread of the lighting appliances each subsidy level from BDM(Bass Diffusion Model) and predicted the number of lighting appliances according to subsidy level in the future. The case study is calculated susidy for satisfaction of LED target using the suggested model in the future and verified availability.
A Study on the Socio-Technical Transition in Electric Lighting : from Incandescent Lamp to Fluorescent Lamp

Technology for electric lighting has been evolving from Incandescent Lamp(IL) through Fluorescent Lamp(FL) and currently to Solid State Lighting(SSL) such as LED for more than 130 years of time. However, it took more than 100 years until the transition from IL to FL across overall society. That is because the transition is the Socio-Technical Transition(STT) which involves various social elements. This study investigated and analyzed the theories regarding STT, and applied the Multi-Level Perspective(MLP) theory to the case of electric lighting. A qualitative contents analysis was used with secondary data as research method, and the analyzed result was visualized based on the frame of MLP theory. The STT of electric lighting from IL to FL took place as the order of Technical Niche, Socio-Technical Regime and Landscape. Specifically, in Technical Niche level: Establishing Market Niche, Price-Performance Improvement, Learning Process and Support of Powerful Group took place. In Socio-Technical Regime level: Changes in Social Network, Changes in Technology and Changes in Rules. In Landscape level: Macro-Political Development, Socio-Economic Trends and Macro-Economic Trends took place in consecutive order.
The AC Chopper LED Driving System Using The Y Type Balancing Transformer

The AC-LED driving system which is connected directly to alternative current source is suitable for commercialization because of it`s simple structure and low cost. However, it requires additional circuits compensating for current differences between the parallel connected LED strings. In this paper, we proposed the circuit compensating for current error of the three LED strings using the Y type balancing transformer. The proposed Half-bridge AC Chopper LED driving system used the ferrite material`s balancing transformer. at the same time, it is able to dimming control. The proposed system is applied to 80W AC-LED module consist of three parallel strings. Experiment results present that Power factor and THD measured with power analyzer are 0.958 and 26.473% respectively satisfied with IEC61000-3-2 harmonics standard.
A study on the safety LED lamp using internal control gear as the alternative type of fluorescent lamp

As products using LEDs are developed actively, also there has been large request for LED products that can replace traditional lamps like fluorescent lamps and metal halide lamps. But so far there is no proper standard that manufacturer can use and test it. As a result manufacturer can`t develop retrofit LED lamps and sell it even they have technology. In this study, by analyzing control gear for fluorescent lamp that is currently used in market which is magnetic or electronic ballast, I`d like to develop proper test method by investigating compatibility between all-type control gear and LED retrofit products.
Optical Properties of UV LEDs depending on Encapsulate Method using Silicone Encapsulants with Different Refractive Indices

Optical characteristics including the radiant flux and viewing angle of UV LEDs were investigated according to both silicone encapsulants with different refractive indexes and lens shapes. Lead frame was fabricated using the enhanced heat dissipation characteristics with a heat slug structure and the reflector based on EMC(Epoxy Mold Compound) material. Four types of lens shapes were designed and their optical characteristics depending on the refractive index of silicone encapsulants were evaluated. The maximum radiant flux can be achieved when the height of lens are 1.32mm and 1.08mm for silicone encapsulants with low and high refractive indexes, respectively. for high refractive index. As a result, it is found that the optical characteristics of UV LEDs can be controled through both encapsulating method and the refractive index of encapsulants.
MPPT Control of Photovoltaic using VS-PO Method

A I-V and P-V characteristic of solar cell is changed to nonlinear by radiation and temperature. Therefore, to use efficiently PV system, operating point of PV system is must operate at maximum power point always. A performance of conventional the PO and the IC method is depend on the step size. So it has weakness which is must select optimal step size. Also, MPPT control applying PI and fuzzy control is not expected satisfactory performance, because of PI controller has fixed gain and fuzzy control has cumulative error by an integral calculus. Therefore, this paper proposes the VS-PO(Variable Stepsize - Perturbation & Observation) MPPT control that is automatically adjusted the step size according to the operating conditions. The VS-PO MPPT method proposed in this paper analyzes control characteristic about condition of radiation and compares with conventional methods. The validity of this paper proves using this results.
A Study on the Optimal Use of Silent Discharge Type Ozonizer in Purification Plant

There are 5 purification plants with the adopted advanced water purification treatment process in Korea. Annual operating costs were 8,990 million won including purchase cost of oxygen and power usage charges. We need research to optimize, in the future, when considering the direction of domestic water treatment continues to adopt advanced water treatment process. In this paper, calculate the optimal operating costs by injected the oxygen gas, used power cost. approximately 25% of the operating costs can be reduced when injected the ozone gas is 1.0ppm than 2.0ppm, the necessary amount of oxygen is increased then power is lower. so operating costs are decided according to oxygen costs. On the other hand, high ozone concentration 2.0ppm, the necessary power is increased then amount of oxygen is lower. Therefore, in the case of G purification plant, the controlling factor of the input ozone concentration 2ppm, PID control operation by setting the concentration of over 10Wt% is efficient. The installed capacity is the more little the more better when considering on Ozone injection rate in the process of water treatment.
MPTC of Induction Motor Driven with Low Switching Frequency

When medium and large induction motors are driven by 2-level inverters with low switching frequency, induction motors provoke deteriorated performances resulted from large torque ripples, flux ripples, and large current distortion. Model predictive torque control(MPTC) for a fast torque control of induction motors is also suffered from large torque ripples when the induction motors are fed by 2-level inverters that are based on 6 active voltage vectors with low switching frequency restricted. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new MPTC method based on both a 12 active voltage vector and an optimized duty ratio calculation. The proposed control strategy illustrates its effectiveness under the various operating conditions through simulation works.
A Study on High Precision and High Stability Digital Magnet Power Supply Using Second Order Delta-Sigma modulation

This paper is writing about developing magnet power supply. It is very important for power supply to obtain output current in high precision and high stability. As a switching noise and a power noise are the cause of disrupting the stability of output current, to remove these at the front end, low pass filter with 300Hz cutoff frequency is designed and placed. And also to minimize switching noise of the current into magnet and to stop abrupt fluctuations, output filter should be designed, when doing this, we design it by considering load has high value inductance. As power supply demands the stability of less than 5ppm, high precision 24bit(300nV/bit) analog digital converter is needed. As resolving power of 24bit(300nV/bit) analog digital converter is high, it is also very important to design the input stage of analog digital converter. To remove input noise, 4th order low pass filter is composed. Due to the limitation of clock, to minimize quantization error between 15bit DPWM and output of ADC having 24bit resolving power,
modulation is used and bit contracted DPWM is constituted. And before implementing, to maximize efficiency, simulink is used.
Design and Behavior of Validating Surge Protective Devices in Extra-low Voltage DC Power Lines

In order to effectively protect electrical and electronic circuits which are extremely susceptible to lightning surges, multi-stage surge protection circuits are required. This paper presents the operational characteristics of the two-stage hybrid surge protection circuit in extra-low voltage DC power lines. The hybrid surge protective device consists of the gas discharge tube, transient voltage suppressor, and series inductor. The response characteristics of the proposed hybrid surge protective device to combination waves were investigated. As a result, the proposed two-stage surge protective device to combination wave provides the tight clamping level of less than 50V. The firing of the gas discharge tube to lightning surges depends on the de-coupling inductance and the rate-of-change of the current flowing through the transient voltage suppressor. The coordination between the upstream and downstream components of the hybrid surge protective device was satisfactorily achieved. The inductance of a de-coupler in surge protective circuits for low-voltage DC power lines, relative to a resistance, is sufficiently effective. The voltage drop and power loss due to the proposed surge protective device are ignored during normal operation of the systems.

. The permittivities and the apparent densities of the accelerated thermally aged CSPE samples are increased with accelerated thermal aging year but EAB(Elongation at Break) is decreased with that. The dielectric strength and the electric breakdown of the non-accelerated and accelerated thermally aged CSPE samples do not depend on accelerated thermal aging year and applied voltage rising time. density and EAB measures.
Analysis for the Reactive Power Changes of Induction Machines According to Rotation Speed

Induction machine requires a rotating magnetic field for energy conversion. The current to generate a rotating magnetic field is the magnetization current. This magnetization current corresponds to the reactive power. Reactive power is higher than active power at start-up of induction motor. As the rotation speed is increased, their magnitudes are reversed each other. The active power is higher than the reactive power at near the synchronous speed. This paper is dealing with the analysis result for the changes of the magnetizing current and reactive power when the induction machine is operating as a motor or generator near synchronous speed.

In order to avoid the electrical fire, AFCI(Arc Fault Cirruit Interrupter) has been obligated to be adopted in the United States of America since 2002. A study was carried out on how to detect Arc. In this paper, The propose is high-frequency signal detection methods and RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) signal processing algorithm for Arc detection. and the electrical characteristics were verifying.
