A Study on the Fire Protection Safety of the Public-utilization Shops
Kim, Yeob-Rae ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 10~21
This study contains the fire protection safety of the public-utilization shops. The toll of fires in the public-utilization shops is so heavy in spite the less occurency. The shops are mostly compartmented into small rooms by partition wall which hinders the evacuation of the people on fire. This study provides additional requirements on the fire safety of the public-utilization shops needed for human life and property.

An Information Fusion-based Disaster Information System Framework
Park, Choong-Shik ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 40~48
DIS(Disaster Information System) is the information system supporting prevention, readiness, response, and recovery to disasters. DIS must monitor various disaster-related informations, keep various human resources and various material resources, and response real disasters. The conventional DISs are insufficient for integrated situation analysis, real-time report and operation, and utilizing the expertise of disaster personnels. In this study, the information-fusion based DIS framework is proposed for analysing various level informations, providing integrated situation informations and response plans, and processing real-time reports and operation according to field situations. The proposed DIS framework adopts information-fusion technologies and knowledge-based BRMS(Business Rule Management System).
The Direction for Development of Domestic Initial Response System for Chemical Terrorism
Eun, Chong-Hwa ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 50~73
This paper is about the establishment of "Initial Response System." Initial response system is most important and should be treated urgently among all preparations for chemical terrorism. The 0비 ects of Initial response system are to protect civilians and the first responder who are exposed directly to chemical terrorism. Therefore, this paper suggests two main issues about Initial response system. One is to prepare immediate and exact information service system which assures the safety and survival of exposed people. The other is to build Scene Response System integrated with Command-Control Procedure for early finished situation. Compared to United States, overcoming the Chemical Terrorism requires to improve the contents of two categories: Counter Citizen Response part and Initial Scene Response part. For Counter citizen response part' s sake, the web-sites of Response leader agencies for searching information about chemical terrorism should be modified specifically. These web-sites have to be re-organized in detail. The existing Information service system which has been vaguely informed as "CBRNE Accident" needs to be divided as "CBRNE Accident" and "WMD terrorism." Further, each of them should be specialized in "Chemical', "Biological", and "Radiological" categories. There is a need to rearrange current Emergency Instruction for civilians against chemical terrorism in feasible way. At the same time, it should be applied consistently to all organizations through agreement between experts and related-organizations. For Initial Scene Response part's sake, "Initial scene response procedure (SOP)" and "Operational conception" should be produced through Simulated Exercises and workshops of all organizations related with initial response. These organizations have to cooperate with Ministry of Environment which is the main leader Agency as the center. Next, there is a need to develop a technology and Scene Response Equipments, and to standardize the response equipments which consider the capability of First Responders for chemical terrorism. Especially, improving capability of equipments is required to overcome the vulnerability of Scene Response Equipments.
A study of the alert decision model in sensor web enablement
Lee, Chang-Yeol ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 76~85
SWE(Sensor Web Enablement) is the standard platform of OGC for the sensor data service. SWE is only focusing in the data transmission protocols, but supporting the semantic decision. Sensor data service is the decision service of the status whether is on normal or not. 1n this study, we study the semantic decision model of the sensor data. It can support the context-aware service based on the decision information.

The potential risks of Korean public security has been increasing by economic stagnation. As a result of this, a feeling of unrest about our society causes expansion of private security industry as well as necessity of professional education. It has been 15years to produce security expert in colleges which is professional education institute, and academic efforts and contributions to society are shown remarkable results for the period. A private security industry had got public interest as a potential favorable job, because of increasing dependence of public to take care of unrest facts. Many colleges have introduced courses about public security because of facing necessity of professional education system. Then total 59 institutes including 22 universities and 37 colleges introduce courses of public security. Although name of courses are diverse depends on institution, purpose of course or members of course, the ultimate purpose of these courses is preventing pub1ic from crimes and managing public security. A fixed and out of date education system of universities in Korea can not produce talent person who people, companies and government want. The institutions have been recruiting many student so far, and it shows growth of the industry in quantity aspects. However quality aspect of the industry has been failed because it is hard to get a job for graduated students. Consequently, to improve quality of the industry people need cooperation of institution, professors and students.
A Study of Aesthetical Value of Composition principle on Security Guard Martial Arts
Jeong, Yeon-Wan ; Hong, Eun-Sun ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 108~122
Purpose of this research about reduction the scholastic systematic triangular position of the security guard martial art which repeats a development is insufficient with demand of the while society to recognize and for the philosophic value research of security guard martial art composition principle puts out with the one method and from the reporter to search the aesthetics which appears does. In order to attain the goal of the research which sees the literature which relates with an security guard martial art widly, was an investigation and observed the aesthetics from concept and martial art of aesthetics and this the technical free use ability from actual site of the technical find which leads the practice voluntary repetition practice of security guard martial art with character and the body guard aesthetic integral part experience possibly did, there being will be able to acquire an aesthetic inspiration, confirmed. So the security guard martial art follows the composition principle of maximization central attitude and shock point breath control and mental intensive etc. of reinforcement of direction shock of relativity redundancy mental moral culture body agreement characteristic force and relaxation force and is completed and will be able to embody an aesthetic value with aesthetic elements of technical polishing process inside goes about reduction.
Effect of prestressing force on natural frequency of a prestressed concrete beam
Choi, Sang-Hyun ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 124~137
The research on the effect of the prestressing force on the frequency of PSC(Prestressed Concrete beam) has been conducted theoretical1y and experimentally, and a few theory has been presented. However, the presented theories show no agreement in predicting the effect of the prestressing force. ln this paper, the theories on the effect of the prestressing force on the frequency of PSC beam are presented and evaluated using the experimental result. To obtain the experimental result, two PSC beam specimens were manufactured, and the modal test and analysis were performed. The modal analysis results revealed that the prestressing force increased the natural frequency of the PSC beam. Comparing predicted results using existing theories show that Kim' s model, which substitutes the prestressing tendon with the equivalent beam, gives the best prediction result.
A study on quantitative risk assessment of mechanical accidents
Han, Ou-Sup ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Disaster Information, volume 5, issue 2, 2009, Pages 140~152
Recently the occurrence ratio of mechanical accidents in industrial disaster of korea is increased, but very little accident information has been given regarding the prevention of mechanical accidents. ln this study, mechanical accidents by the analysis of industrial accident case was examined. And it was proposed the risk assessment method and building database for investigation of risk factors in mechanical accident. As a result, from mechanical accidents database, it was found that the occurrence ratio of mechanical accident by constriction and falling etc. is very high and death ratio by mechanical accident is larger than that of usual accident. And we applied the quantitative risk assessment method proposed by this study in the mechanical accident analysis of a domestic manufacturer. From the results, the risk factors due to constriction, curling, falling and scattering are principal causes of mechanical accidents. These result is similar to that of the analysis of mechanical accidents for recent 12 years in korea.
