A Study on Measures of Air Terrorism: Focused on Security

The purpose of this study is to make people acknowledge the danger of the air terror and provide measures to prevent a recurrence of the accident and find required security. Also, the air terror is categorized into aircraft and airport and take steps to come up with preventive measures against the air terror by finding a countermeasure and precaution. The following steps should be checked to take precautionary measures against the air terror. major security crackdown and the need for a further security check should be conducted to prevent terrorists from boarding the aircraft, security around the airport needs to be tightened up by training the airport workers and promoting emergency situations, airport sheriffs and armed guards should be on patrol for the safety of the cabin, new measures of efficient security for in and around the airport and its facilities should be set up to tighten up security of baggage.
A Study on the Spalling Properties of High Strength Concrete Using Synthetic Fiber

Accordingly architectural structure is getting high-rise and bigger, a use of high strength and high performance concrete has been increasing. High performance concrete has cons of explosion in a fire. This Explosion in the fire can cause the loss of the sheath on a concrete surface, therefore it effects that increasing a rate of heat transmission between the steel bar and inner concrete. Preventing this explosion of high performance concrete in the fire, many kinds of researches are now in progressing. Typically, researches with using Polypropylene-fiber and Steel-fiber can prove controling the explosion, but the reduction of mobility was posed as a problem of workability. Consequently, to solve the problem as mentioned above, concrete cans secure fire resisting capacity through the using of coating liquid, including Ester-lubricant and non-ionic characteristic surfactant. A Study on the Effect of Micro Surfacing Pavement on Noise Reductions

The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the field applications and the noise reductions of micro surfacing pavement, which is often used to reduce environmental problems. A traffic noise mechanism was analyzed and a modified mix design method was proposed for nighttime constructions. Results on noise measurements using the statistical pass-by method showed noise reductions of 2.0 to 7.1 dB were observed. In addition, results on noise measurements using the close proximity method demonstrated that noise reductions of 5.6 to 6.7 dB were recorded under vehicle speed of 80km/h. The noise measurements revealed that the close proximity method was more stable than the statistical pass-by method. As a result, the effect of micro surfacing pavement on noise reductions was proved through the research. It is considered that the micro surfacing pavement method could be used as a preventive maintenance method and a comfortable noise reducing pavement technique.

After the east Japan earthquake last March 2011, social interests are intensified in the area of increasing the earthquake resistant ability and the necessity of design method that can minimize the damage from earthquake. If bridges are damaged or collapsed, the social and economic effects are so severe that the evaluation of earthquake resistant ability becomes very important. The reviewing methods for earthquake resistant ability are many, but majority of these methods are deterministic. Thus, for the safety assessment of structures for earthquake, the method for evaluating fragility according to the stage of damage is necessary. In this paper, the fragility curves for PSC Box Girder bridge using LRB and RFPB are constructed for PGA, PGV, SA, SV, SI and the two isolators are compared.
A Research of Field Tolerance for Improvement of Fire Fighting Ability in High Rise Structures

There are currently various domestic high-rise construction projects underway. Such projects may maximize the economic impact, and yield other benefits, however, there is also a possibility of fire, terrorism, and other disasters that one may not even imagine. This study of high-rise structures' damage reduction measures the fire-fighting ability of the fire fighters at the scene of an indoor emergency upon entry. In order to identify the practical limitations, the fire fighter entered from the 1st floor to reach the top 54th floor. 1.Time required to reach the top floor without the respirator 2.Time required as well as pressure consumption to reach the top floor with the respirator equipped was measured; based on the results, performable range of operations during a fire fighting activity were presented.
A Study on Civil Defense Evacuation Facilities

Civil defense evacuation facilities currently installed in our country are necessary to survey the operating status. The purpose of this study is to survey on the current facility for civil defense evacuation facilities equipment, management, and problem analysis, research and to build a facility model of the standard formulation through the analysis on the actual condition of the civil defense evacuation facility. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the civil defense evacuation facilities are most in Seoul. Second, civil defense evacuation facilities proved to be checked periodically without a systematic management. Many facilities do not have communication facilities appear to be evacuated in an emergency situation is expected to have difficulty in contact with the outside world. Fourth, the old civil defense evacuation facilities are in the center of the metropolitan area.
Development of Optimal Evacuation Model using Civil Defense Evacuation Facilities Survey Data

It is necessary to establish guidelines when we selecting the civil defense evacuation facilities through quantitative analysis by civil defense evacuation facilities volume. The purpose of this study is to evaluate according to population density and distribution of the capacity of evacuation facilities. The results of this study are as follows. First, it is necessary to consider the capacity of evacuation facilities in order to set up the exact districts of civil defense evacuation facilities. Second, basic data based on to compare the condition of civil defense evacuation facilities is produced by an analysis on evacuation status of the target region. Third, it is proved to consider topographical conditions which do not move the shortest distance. Fourth, in order to create a realistic model, it is necessary to consider the model set various parameters.
A Study on the Improvement of Pile Foundations Based on the Analysis of Field Case Studies

In this study, in-depth site investigation related to design and construction of pile foundation was carried out, especially with respect to 103 large-scale bridges located in South Korea. As a result, the depths and location of investigation was unsatisfactory at the foundation investigation process. Moreover, pile load tests were not performed when the capacity of the file is calculated in planning phase, and it was difficult to determine the load capacity limit due to the fact that loading capacity was not specified in pile-loading test. The design criteria related to pile foundation does not reflect the reality of the construction site, and that causes over design, and economic inefficiency in budget. Therefore, the purposes of this study is to review case studies related to the bearing capacity of pile foundations and suggest improvements in the construction specifications.
A Study on the False Alarm Management of Alarm Monitoring Service

This study is to present false alarm management of alarm monitoring service, by literature analysis and interview with the persons in charge of service of alarm monitoring service companies. To reduce false alarm by customer's mistake, development of educational tool that could provide practical effect is needed. Also institutional consent to charge a specific sum of money could be considered for unnecessary dispatch that occurred by customer's mistake. To improve the false alarm by defect of equipments and installation of electronic security system, standardization of technical regulation and system installation is necessary. And to improve the performance of passive infrared sensor that cause most false alarm, the development of new type of sensor is required. It could be considered that guideline on educational contents and term definition about false alarm could be come under the security regulation.
