Analysis of Standard Cost and the Construction Period Applied TBM Excavation Method

This research collected work drilling report of TBM method site developed by WRITH company to TBM equipment company in Germany and analyzed work operating productivity. Based the data analyzed TBM operating productivity, This research derived and presented excavation speed(m/day) by TBM diameter (2.6m, 3.0m, 3.5m, 5.0m, 8.0m) and rock. Also, based on the excavation speed(m/day) by TBM diameter, This research estimated a day direct construction cost and total direct construction costs by applying a direct construction cost which spent on per 1m. Based on hard rock 40.0%, soft rock 30.0%, usually rock 20%, weathered rock 10.0%, TBM boring velocity, m per cost, total construction period shall estimate the construction cost and the construction period by the effective use by diameter when future applying TBM method to the basic planning stages and in the preliminary design phase.
Analysis of Excavation Speed and Direct Construction Cost Based on the Operating Productivities of TBM Method Site - Diameter 5.0m Target

The resource-based estimating based on standard unit price of construction work was estimated by multiplying the price per standard unit of work on the amount of labor, material, equipment use time. However, limitation of the resource-based estimating way does not adequately reflect the actual transactions prices. On the subject of water tunnel excavation as a new attempt to overcome these limitations, this study analyzed productivity by work type into cutter inspection/ exchange, TBM maintenance, TBM inspection/refueling, subsequent installations, tramcar, operating change, a cave-underground reinforcement / rock reinforcement, safety / meetings and analyzed actual cost estimating and the net advance rate based on this analysis result. Actual cost estimating calculation approach presented in this study can be utilized as a useful tool to predict the actual cost estimating in the TBM water tunnels field.
Study on the Estimated Damage Cost of Private Properties Due to Natural Disaster

In recent years, the number of unforeseen weather hazards increased significantly, and subsequent financial loss in public and private sector has increased as well. Research has been increasingly focused on the actual damage assessment in the event of a disaster through effective and comprehensive disaster countermeasures to deal with and improve a better anti-disaster strategy. Through investigation of existing domestic and foreign property loss related to current damage analysis, the comparison and analysis in terms of current estimated methodology of the full extent of the damage results is proposed. In this study, a more efficient damage index and natural disaster damage assessment is suggested and more specifically, the basic standards of declared disaster areas and the strength of private property damage index will be also be discussed.
Study on the Effects of Pedestrian Improvement Projects

To find out the major factors affecting the pedestrian satisfaction, the quantitative evaluation on the walking environment were carried out using questionnaire with the 5-point Likert scale in the selected 6 community roads in Seoul. Data were analyzed using descriptive, correlation, and regression analysis. One of main findings reported that pedestrians are not satisfied yet with pedestrian environment(Mean=2.88, S.D.=1.12). The correlation analysis reported 'Safe to walk' (R=.640,p=.001), 'Feel like walking' (r=.603, p=.001), 'Enjoyable to walk'(R=.601,p=.001), and 'Adequate for walking & dialogue'(R=.586,p=.001), are top four factors that positively correlate with overall pedestrian satisfaction. Results indicate that safety should be considered in priorities but amenity development be thought to be important in pedestrian improvement projects. And a broad public participation in decision-making is needed for the effectiveness of the project.
A study on Fire Case and Countermeasure of Tourist Hotel

Tourist hotels are equipped with facilities such as accommodation and restaurants, exercise, recreation. Unspecified guests, visitors and management of tourist hotels are very vulnerable on the casualties and property losses due to fire peril exist. In this study, we analysis that the fire statistics status of tourist hotels from 2001 to 2010. And the 15 cases of a large hotel fire are reviewed. The total number of fires on hotel are consist of a hotel rooms fire(33.2%), a restaurant kitchen fire(11.8%). And the major causes of the fire are an electrical fire (40.8%), a cigarette fire (14.5%) and a hot-work fire (9.2%). In case study, the fire wall defect and combustible materials are major fire loss causes for 10year. Each tourist hotels are needed a development of suitable fire risk management and a field operations. A hotel is required an active fire risk management on a preventive inspection, an education and training, and a preventive maintenance. It is necessary that a fire wall maintenance to prevent of the spread of a fire and a sprinkler installation of whole area to protect fire. And it is very important an emergency response for evacuation of guest, and operate emergency procedures on a fire or emergency situation.
A Study on the Survival Kit Development Preparing the Civil Defense Situation

The The purpose of this study is to develop survival kit prepared at the outbreak of the civil defense situation and to explore ways to ensure the safety and well-being of the people. Consider the civil defense shelters in a short two hours, from six days to live long, emergency life support food and other items needed for the basic right to life of the facility users. Minimum survival kit per capita personal weight 4.85kg, state and local governments (the government) is 2.65kg. They consists of a total of 26 items in eight categories such as food, clothing, CBR supplies, cold winter supplies, personal hygiene supplies, medicines, tools, communication supplies.
An examination of Akers' Social Strcture and Social Learning Model with PHDCN Data

This study attempts to test the effects of neighborhoods on children and adolescents' alcohol, cigarette and marijuana use. Theoretically, this study was guided by Akers' (1998) SSSL model as potential explanations for understanding the linkage and provided partial test of the model. More specifically, it aims to test the mediation effects of one of core propositions of the SSSL model; whether differential association with deviant peers as well as with conforming peers mediates social disorganization of neighborhoods on adolescent substance and drug use in a different direction. Using multilevel regression techniques with robust standard error, this study utilized data from 1,791 children and adolescents who were nested in 80 neighborhoods in Chicago. The findings of the study provide mixed supports for the SSSL model. That is, it found that there are not only mediation effects but also moderation effects of differential association on children and adolescents' substance and drug use.
An Experimental Study on the Fatigue Behaviors Strengthened by Ventilation-Glass Fiber Plate of Reinforced Concrete Beams

Recently, the construction industry commonly uses FRP as a reinforcement material because of its material advantages. FRP attached reinforcement has various advantages such as high strength, stiffness, excellent durability and construction practicability comparing to its weight. However, external attachment of FRP is water-tighted with low water permeable material, not draining water, probably causing damages on a permanent structure. The study manufactured it through pultrusion and examined GP(glass fiber panel) of which material-mechanical properties are almost same as the existing FRP but durability and attachment performance are better by stationary experiments, testing load-deflection curve, destruction types and load-deflection relation under repetitive loading test. As a result of 2,000,000 fatigue tests, it did not result in the destruction and showed excellent permanent attachment and durability as it displays significantly low compressive strain of concrete.
He Study of Fire Suppression Capability of Low Pressure Water-Mist System for Wooden Cultural Properties

The study verified the extinguishing performance of the low pressure water-mist system, which is used to extinguish fire at domestic wooden architecture, through a fire test. Made of inflammable materials, a wooden house is vulnerable to fire, and the size of fire may vary from the early stage in case of arson. With the discharging pressure of 8 bar and the flow rate of 35 lpm, the low pressure water-mist nozzle used in the experiment has considerable discharging amount compared to other water-mist nozzles. The extinguishing performance was tested based on the size of fire and architecture. Test results demonstrated that the extinguishing performance was not affected by the size of a house, but decreased significantly when the size of fire was above unit 1. Taking into account that the environment of actual wooden cultural properties is more vulnerable than that of the experiment model, sufficient investigation on extinguishing performance is required to apply the water-mist extinguishing system to wooden architecture.
A Direction to Korean Countermeasures against Terror Following the Changes in German Countermeasure Policies against Terrors

This thesis aims at presenting the improvements of terror-responsive policy that Korea has to take on the basis of terror threat to Germany and responsive policies. so, First, Korea has to prepare the ways to legislate on terror responsive policies. Second, Korea has to construct a management center to response to terror comprehensively. In addition, Korea, like Germany, has to establish cooperation center related to terror on internet to surveil and analyze information and situation.
An Implementation of the Disaster Management Systems on the Space and Terrestrial System Damages by Solar Maximum

This paper takes precautions proposals against prospective disasters from the space weather maximum in 2013. A geomagnetic space storm sparked by a solar maximum like the one that flared toward earth is bound to strike again and could wreak havoc across the modern world. The purpose of the study is that the disaster reduction and safety service implementation study on the ultimate space weather systems by the information systems of the space weather. The process methods of the study are that an implementation of preparation for the smart IT and GIS based disaster management systems of the solar maximum deal with analysis on the flare, solar proton event, and geomagnetic storm from space blasters, These approach and methods for the solar maximin display national policy implementation of the pattern of the radio wave disasters from the protection and preparation methods. This research can provide affective methods for the saving lives and property protections that implementation of the disaster prediction and disaster prevention systems adapts the smart IT systems and converged decision making support systems using uGIS methodology.
