Design and Implementation of a 3-dimensional GIS Data Provider System

The 3-dimensional GIS data provider system manages and retrieves 2, 3-dimensional spatial and time data. This system provides the standard interfaces which help developers to omit additional works to do modify or convert a format of 2 or 3-dimensional spatial data, which has been already accumulated, into that dependent on a specified system. This system consists of a data provider and data access component. The former deals with the connections with some databases and manages the meta data, so that the various GIS or software can access to 3-dimensional spatial and time data via the same method, and the latter takes charge of index management and spatial operations on GIS data for consumers. The system offers the diverse spatial operations and analysis functions for 3-dimensional GIS.
Development of Water Quality Management System in Daecheong Reservoir Using Geographic Information System

The current industrial development and the increase of population in Daecheong Reservoir basin have produced a rapid increase of wastewater discharge. This has resulted in problem of water quality control and management. Although many efforts have been carried out, reservoir water quality has not significantly improved. In this sense, the development of water quality management system is required to improve reservoir water quality. The goal of this study is to design a GIS-based water quality management system for the scientific water quality control and management in the Daecheong Reservoir. For general water quality analysis, WASP5 model was applied to the Daecheong Reservoir. A sensitivity analysis was made to determine significant parameters and an optimization was made to estimate optimal values. The calibration and verification were performed by using observed water quality data for Daecheong Reservoir. A water quality management system for Daecheong Reservoir was made by connecting the WASP5 model to ArcView. It allows a Windows-based Graphic User Interface(GUI) to implement all operation with regard to water quality analysis. The proposed water quality management system has capability for the on-line data process including water quality simulation, and has a post processor far the reasonable visualization for various output. The modeling system in this study will be an efficient NGIS(National Geographic Information System) far planning of reservoir water quality management.
Analysis about Habitat of Eurasian Otter Lutra lutra L. by Using GIS in the River Ungok of North-Kyongsang Province

This Study was Analysis about Habitat of Eurasian otter Lutra lutra L. In October 2002 during September 2003, Otter Spraints and Sprainting site were searched in river Unkog of North-Kyongsang Province for taking the GPS coordinates. For Analysis of habitat, This data were used by Arcview ver. 3.2 with 1/25000 Topology Map and Other Field data. The result of Habitat Analysis meant that Habitat use was strongly related to Fish diversity and richness also vegetation and cover were connected with otter habitat. In other hand, The Human interferences including dense structures like House acted as factor of disturbance. This study suggest that The preceding about Suitable habitat having free of Human disturbance, abundant fish and good vegetation is essential In Trial for Conservation or Recovery of Otter like Trans-location.
Land Category Non-coincidence Measurements Using High Resolution Satellite Images and Digital Topographic Maps

Basically a land parcel consists of a land parcel number, land category, land boundary and area, and land value is mostly determined by the land category. Generally people want to change their land use to increase their land value so that they can expect more benefits from the land. However, changing land use causes several problems with land properties, haphazard urban expansions and land category non-coincidences. Unfortunately, no effective solutions exist for land category non-coincidence problems. In this study, we proposed a methodology that can classify the land category based land covers using high resolution satellite images and digital topographic maps. For this, we obtained a parcel based land use/cover classification map. Using both this classification map and a digital cadastral map, we inspected land category non-coincidences. As a result, land category non-coincidence rates could be statistically measured and interpreted and demonstrate a possibility that we could quantitatively interpretate and measure cadastral non-coincidence automatically.
Construction of Land Consulting Information System

In this study about construction of land consulting information system the system is constructed for the support be rapidly and efficiently of decision making information. Supporting decision making is be sure need when build in land or change form and character of land, that kind of variety land law, conditions of buying land location, distribution of land answering to the development purpose and buying and selling or lease of land. So that land consulting information system can be query, search, identity and analysis for the decision making elements using the computer. The system an another name ALGOSA far the improved extent of legal in ability of system. Like this where spread of system is by company as well as private person, it's company kinds of real estate business, survey and civil designer's office, architectural designer's office and professional1y land development company of great many all over the country.
A Study on Cyber GIS education for Local Government Officers

The Ministry of Construction and local governments have spent lots of money to construct 1: 1,000 scale digital topographic map. However the digital map is used only in facility management departments and the department in charge of GIS. In local governments, almost 70 ∼ 80 % of data are related with maps, which represents GIS technique and the digital maps could be used 70 ∼ 80 % of local government tasks. In this circumstances, it is necessary to spread out GIS usage through GIS education. However, there are lots of limits in GIS education such as number of people which can take classes at one time, physical location and size of classroom, and curriculums etc. To overcome these limits, cyber GIS education is becoming more important. This study presents how the cyber GIS education should be composed for the local government officers. For this purpose, this study accomplished followings ; grasp current GIS education status, analyze the needs of GIS education for local government officers, propose cyber GIS courses and curriculums according to the level of officers.
GIS based Effective Methodology for GAS Accident Management

Nowadays, the gas utilities have been increasing constantly due to the expansion of the urban areas. Using computerized information database, the gas companies have developed a gas management system in order to maintain the current status. However, this system can only give basic functions of the maintenance and management of the gas facilities and it has no proper utilities to provide information against accidents from gas leaks. Therefore, a gas accident management system has been developed in this study. Through primary and secondary pipe searching algorithm realtime based management system was devised against gas leaks to propose proper actions. In addition, supporting decision making has been enabled providing estimated maximum amount of gas leaks. Furthermore, all the residential units could be identified thereby minimizing damages through early warning. This system can be expected to contribute to enhance the efficiency of the gas management not to mention of protecting human lives and properties of the nation.
GPS Software Development for Calculation of Cadastral Control Points

Research that establish new cadastral survey model that use GPS to introduce GPS observation technique in cadastral survey and research that develop connection technologies are now abuzz. The purpose of this research is to keep in step in such trend and grasp present condition and performance of surveying connection to common use GPS data processing software, and analyze data processing algorithm, and develop suitable GPS data processing software in our real condition regarding GPS data processing and result of control point calculation. This research studies analysis common use software and error occurrence by data processing method that college and company have. Also, It analyzes algorithm that is applied to existing GPS data processing software. After that we study algorithm that is most suitable with cadastral survey and then develop cadastral survey calculation software for new cadastral control points.
A study on classification accuracy improvements using orthogonal summation of posterior probabilities

Improvements of classification accuracy are main issues in satellite image classification. Considering the facts that multiple images in the same area are available, there are needs on researches aiming improvements of classification accuracy using multiple data sets. In this study, orthogonal summation method of Dempster-Shafer theory (theory of evidence) is proposed as a multiple imagery classification method and posterior probabilities and classification uncertainty are used in calculation process. Accuracies of the proposed method are higher than conventional classification methods, maximum likelihood classification(MLC) of each data and MLC of merged data sets, which can be certified through statistical tests of mean difference.
