A Study on National GIS Research Support System Improvement in the Pluralistic GNSS Environment

In the past several years there has been relying on USA fur the resource of global positioning data in the pluralistic GNSS environment(Galileo, Post GPS, Quasi-Zenith Satellite System). For this reason, we should make a decision which strategy for research is carried out. According to a diversity of resource for obtaining positioning data, well organized research support at government level for efficient using is required. Specially, it is very Important that subcommittee for research organized with National GIS Promotion Committee as a leader make counterplan strategy. We have obtained an conclusion that we can make a good decision by establishing Spatial Information Expert Group and selection of essential element of technology.
A Study on the Revision Direction of National Geographic Information System Law and Institution

This study is analyzing what necessary law and institution is to solve various problem that is happened in process that execute the first
second National GIS Master Plan in the meantime at visual point that the second National GIS Master Plan(2001-2005) period is expired. Specially, it is that present what improvement direction of law and institution by each field is. Minimize of obstacle factors far National GIS Master Plan is purposeful during the third National GIS Master Plan period. To achieve study purpose, this study analyzes background of National GIS law and institution, objective, system. It is expected that of this article can contribute to the picture of National GIS law and institution.
The Accuracy Analysis of Parcel Surveying by RTK-GPS and RTK-GPS/GLONASS

GLONASS(Global NAvigation Satellite System) using the satellite information on 19,100km altitude supplies the location information similar method with GPS. Therefore, many researches study in combination GPS and GLONASS. This research compares with deciding coordination of one unit parcel using RTK-GPS and RTK-GPS/CLONASS. Then we examine the possibility of RTK-GPS/GLONASS for determining parcel coordinate.
A Study on Spatial and Temporal Distribution Characteristics of Coastal Water Quality Using GIS

In order to examine spatio-temporal characteristics of coastal water quality, we applied GIS spatial analysis to the water quality data collected from observation points located on Korean coastal area during 1997
2004. The water quality parameters measured included: chlorophyll-a, pH, DO, COD, SS, dissolved inorganic nitrogen, dissolved inorganic phosphorous, salinity, temperature. The water quality data used in this paper was obtained only at selected sites even though they are potentially available at any location in a continuous surface. Thus, it is necessary to estimate the values at unsampled locations so as to analyze spatial distribution patterns of coastal water quality, Owing to this reason, we applied IDW(inverse distance weighted) interpolation method to water quality data and evaluated the usefulness of IDW method. After IDW interfolation method was applied, we divided the Korean coastal area into 46 sections and examined spatio-temporal patterns of each section using GIS visualization technique. As a result of evaluation, we can blow that IDW interpolation and GIS are useful for understanding spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of coastal water quality data which is collected from a wide area far many years.
Tracking of Moving Objects for Mobile Mapping System

The MMS(Mobile Mapping System) using the vehicle equipped GPS, IMU and CCD Cameras is the effective system for the management of the road facilities, update of the digital map, and etc. The image, vehicle's 3 dimensional position and attitude information provided MMS is a important source for positioning objects included the image. In this research we applied the tracking technique to the specific object in image. The extraction of important object from immense MMS data makes more effectiveness in this system.
A Study on Network Hierarchy Model which uses a Dynamic Segmentation Technique

A practical use of the location information and user requirement are increased in a mobile environment which supports the portability. And Various service which GIS is related with a Spatial DB have been processed. Generally, logical relation of a traffic network which organizes the Road DB uses a basic node-link structure. In this way, Designed structure can not be flexible at various model apply and are not efficient with a database retrieval in a maintenance management side. In this research, We supplement with the problem of a existing network model and the limitation of the building through the design of a network model which uses dynamic segmentation. And we tried to implement efficient hierarchy model at the retrieval of the network and presentation. Designed model supports a stage presentation of various level and a hierarchy entity relation and We are expected to supplement a network spatial modelling function which the GIS has.
