Recently many researches have focused on indoor navigation system. An optimal indoor navigation method can help people to find a path in large and complex buildings easily. However, some indoor navigation algorithms only calculate approximate routes based on spatial topology analysis, while others only use indoor road networks. However, both of them use only one of the spatial topology or network information. In this paper, we present a navigation method based on topology analysis and room internal networks for indoor navigation path. FT-Indoornavi (Flexible Topology Analysis Indoornavi) calculate internal routes based on spatial topology and internal path networks to support length-dependent and running-time optimal routing, which adapt to complex indoor environment and can achieve a better performance in comparison of Elastic algorithm and iNav.

W ith the recent increasing build and application for 3D spatial information, the importance of management and application for spatial information based on indoor space has been increased. Especially, Due to the increasing of the scale and complexity of the building according to the development of construction technologies several studies have been conducted to provide the services based on indoor space such as indoor navigation for disaster. Therefore, to efficient manage and service for information of complicated indoor space, it is necessary to extend and develop 3D spatial model and services that have been developed for outdoor space. In this paper, Indoor Spatial Data Model(ISDM) is developed to support building spatial information for complicated indoor space and location based services through topological information. ISDM contains a feature model which is a CityGML Application Domain Extension(ADE) model and a topology model that refers the IndoorGML.

DOI : 10.12672/ksis.2013.21.2.023
W ith the recent advancement of IoT (Internet of Things) technology, there has been much interest in the spatial query processing which energy-efficiently acquires sensor readings from sensor nodes inside specified geographical area of interests. Therefore, various kinds of spatial query processing algorithms and distributed spatial indexing methods have been proposed. They can minimize energy consumption of sensor nodes by reducing wireless communication among them using in-network spatial filtering technology. However, they cannot optimize multiple spatial queries which w ill be w idely used in IoT, because most of them have focused on a single spatial query optimization. Therefore, we propose a new multiple spatial query optimization algorithm which can energy-efficiently process multiple spatial queries in a sensor network. The algorithm uses a concept of 'query merging' that performs the merged set after merging multiple spatial queries located at adjacent area. Here, our algorithm makes a decision on which is better between the merged and the separate execution of queries. For such the decision making, we additionally propose the cost estimation method on the spatial query execution. Finally, we analyze and clarify our algorithm's distinguished features using the spatial indexing methods of GR-tree, SPIX, CPS.

Journal of Korea Spatial Information Society, volume 21, issue 2, 2013, Pages 45~54
DOI : 10.12672/ksis.2013.21.2.045
Analytical and simulation error models have the ability to describe (or realize) error-corrupted versions of spatial data. But the different approaches for modeling positional errors require an internal validation that ascertains whether the analytical and simulation error models predict correct positional errors in a defined set of conditions. This paper presents stochastic simulation models of a point and a line segm ent to be validated w ith analytical error models, which are an error ellipse and an error band model, respectively. The simulation error models populate positional errors by the Monte Carlo simulation, according to an assumed error distribution prescribed by given parameters of a variance-covariance matrix. In the validation process, a set of positional errors by the simulation models is compared to a theoretical description by the analytical error models. Results show that the proposed simulation models realize positional uncertainties of the same spatial data according to a defined level of positional quality.

DOI : 10.12672/ksis.2013.21.2.055
This study assessed the thermal comfort of new towns in the Seoul Metropolitan Area (Ilsan, Bundang, Dongtan1) using PET (Physiologically Equivalent Temperature) which refers to real human heat stress. The relationship between PET and urban spatial elements was also analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The study results show that the thermal comfort of Dongtan 1, which is considering a reduction of the urban heat island effect in the planning phase, is higher than other cities. In addition, through regression results, the impervious ratio, floor area ratio, commercial area ratio, and residential area ratio were found to be major factors increasing PET. Moreover, the river area ratio and NDVI were found to be major factors decreasing PET. This study has scientific significance as research that focuses on the assessment of thermal comfort scientifically and definitely, by estimating PET for an entire urban area using GIS analysis that included remote sense analysis and the wind field model. The results of this study can be used in preparing more effective urban plans for the promotion of citizen thermal comfort.

Journal of Korea Spatial Information Society, volume 21, issue 2, 2013, Pages 73~83
DOI : 10.12672/ksis.2013.21.2.073
3D cadaster problems are getting attention and studied increasingly. However, correct concepts have not been established for three dimensional land uses and different rights problems around them. This is primarily due to the lack of proper methods for implementation and operation of 3D cadaster. 3D cadaster requiring far more huge data than 2D should be built in DBMS and need appropriate methods and processes for this. This study propose a method to model 3D cadaster using DBMS. First, it analyse and visualize possible problems around divided superficies in 3D spaces. Based on this, it illustrates UML models and shows an O-R mapping process to implement them using a RDBMS.

The accumulation of spatial information - people, building, land and businesses- is required to make a rational decision successfully by utilizing the Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS). Many foreign countries have utilized the SDSS by defining the minimum unit of spatial area and implementing the spatial database based on it. Even though in Korea, National Basic Districts were created for the purpose of utilizing these districts as a basic area, they have not been utilized as a basic area of managing the spatial database due to the lack of attributes data. Therefore, the goal of this research is to suggest the strategies of building Spatial Decision Support Systems through the accumulation of the spatial data based on National Basic Districts. We propose the strategies in three different fields - legal system, database and application, services. We expect that the role of National Basic Districts w ill be strengthened by executing our strategies as a minimum spatial unit of Korea.

Through the rapid economic growth, modern society have achieved the industrialization but needed to respond to climate change and low-carbon green growth on a scale of urban area. Many studies about the low-carbon city and the green city are on going, but most of them are not integrated but go along in each area(construction, transportation, energy, etc) In this paper, we surveyed the current status of researches about information system to design low-carbon city or green city, and define the method to integrate the outcomes from the each area. As a result integrated model of 'Low-carbon Urban Planning integrated System' in the paper, Individual system is developed by way of C/S form because web system raised problems for data load in analysis. The integrated system was decided to develop by way of Web form, and integrated system was developed by can use the analysed DB in the individual system. We expect this study can help future researches to develop more economical and efficient integrated information system model to design the low-carbon city and the green city.
