The present note describes that polymophLc isoelectrophoretic variation in leaves of theCodonopsis ianceolate Benth. et Hook. fil . 4 enzymes within variety of the zone in Korea and Japan .1. Detected in common bands were NDH-2, Alp-4, -5, -7, -10 aild Lap-22 Detected only NDH-1, -3, Est-14, Alp-8 and -9 were area in Korea3 . Effect of Planting Density on the Grown and Yiel Apium graveolens L.

This study was investigated to find out the optimum planting densities of Aptum graveolns L. about growth characters, yield components and yi-eld at 9 planting densities by transplanting cultureThe results obtained are summarized as follows ;1 . A Basic Study on Development of Medical Wild Plant Resources in Mt. EB- AM

The plants medicinal resources of Mt. Eb-aon were investifeted 18times from JuLy, 1988 to August, 1989. In orther to analyze the vegeta-tion of Eb-am mountain area, medical wild plants structure and distr-ibution. Medical wild Plants of Eb-am mountain consisted of 100 familis, 337 species in alL. The resources of important herb drugs were, Graminea, Liliaceae, Molaceae, Polygonaceae, Ranunculaceae, Brassicaceae, Rosaceae, Drupaceae, Fabaecae, Apiaceae, Labiatae, Solanaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Rubiaceae, CampanuLaceae, ComposLtae, The herb drufs were Comparatively more than in other mountains in our country.
A Historical Review on Economic Plants from Other Countries in Korea

A part of economic plants for human beigns from other countries to Korea introduced have been come through Chinese dynasty Long years ago . P-lant from South-West Asia, tropical and subtropical zones to Chinesedynasty seems to be introduced from several centuries before B.C. to 7thA.D . Safflower(Corthamus tinctorius) , polyfonum indigo(Polygonum tinctorium),cape jasmine (Gardenia jasmioides ELLIS), are all of dyestuff plants, andthey are seem to be come over to Korea around 3-4th A.D. or more earli-er Common pomegranate(punica grantanum) , walnut(juglans sinensis) of fruittrees come over here from the age of Three States(B.C Lst-a.D.7th) andcommon fig(ficus carica) seems to here around 16 th A.D.. Foxglove(Digita-lis purpurea L ) and pyrethrum(Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium VISANI) whichare medical plants have been come into Korea early 20th century Sincethese economic plants can be used for human's health as raw material ofchinese herbal medicines , we need to expand the cultivations of thesebotanical resources
Characteristics of Varieties in Natural Fiber Crops in Korea

It was indicated that natural fiber crops Ln Korea have been major crops, such as cotton, flax, ramie and Kenaf. The major varieties andagronomic characterics are summarized as follows. Cotton variety, Mokpo 6 is long fiber length and, is high lint yield, flax variety, Wiera is hiTh amount of dry stem and grains weiTht. On the other hand, kenaf variety, Suweon 2 is high dry fiber weight and fiher ratio.
Studies on the Climatic Conditions for Immigration Period and Bionomical Characters of the Brown Planthopper in Hae Nam Area

This study was carried out to understand the immigration period, climatic conditions for mass immigration and bionomical characters ofthe brown pLanthopper(BPH) in Hae NamThe results are as follows ; (1) The Periods of first immigraion and mass immigration of BPH , were from the late June to early JuLy and from earlyto mid JuLy in HaeNam, that were faster about 15-30days than in inland of ChonnanThe climatic factors that related closely to mass immigration wereas follows ; temp.:
, humidity : 86 ~ 95 % , wind direcion : SW, wind velocity: 1.0 ~ 2.9gm/sec. (2)The population of immigranted BPH was in the field much more overthe mountain near coast than other places . Biotype composition showed that biotype I was on the decrease and biotype II, III were on the increase (3)The bionomical characters were variable, for climatic conditions,that egg stage, nymphal stage and adult stafe of immigranted BPHwere 9-12days, 13-16days and 12-36days respectively, that hatchability(%) and emergence rate ( % ) were higher than 80%. The adult Longevity in female and macropterous BPH showed Longerthan that of male and brachypterous respectively. (4) The distance of nymphs and brachypterous adults move by walking was within 16cm over the water surface, by hopping was within 20cm horizontally.
Study on the Characteristics of Chinese quince ( Chaenom-eles sinensis Koehne ) in the Southern Area of Korea

This study was carried out to investigates the growth characteristics of chinese quince (chaenomels sinensi KOEHNE) in the southernarea of Korea.The results obtained were summarized as folLows .Leaf deveLoping time ofchaenomels sinensi KOEHNE was in the lastof March .BlOoming time of chaenomels sinensis KOEHNE was in the middle ofApri1.Chinese quince B line matures on October 20, 9 days earlier thannon -grafted .Grafted chinese quince tree showed earlier fruiting than non-grufted chinese quince tree.
