A New Active Gate Drive Circuit for High Power IGBTs

This paper deals with an active gate drive (AGD) technolo밍T for high power IGBTs. It is based on an optimal c combination of several requirements necessmy for good switching performance under hard switching conditions, The s scheme specifically combines together the slow drive requirements for low noise and switching stress and the fast driver requirements for high speed switching and low switching energy loss The gate drive can also effectively dampen oscillations during low cunent turnlongrightarrowon transient in the IGBT, This paper looks at the conflicting requirements of the c conventional gate dlive circuit design and the experimental results show that the proposed threelongleftarrowstage active gate dlive t technique can be an effective solution.
Power Factor Correction Circuit For Inverter Air-Conditioner With A Parallel Configuration To Reduce The Material Cost

In this paper, the power factor correction circuit using a parallel drive method is proposed so that the high power inverter air-conditioner with 3[hp] compressor motor may obtain the cost down and the improved performance. The adequate design porcedures are presented to reduce the material costs by eliminating the power factor imprving LC filter and derating output capacitor and inverter switches. Using the determined components. the proto-type circuit with 6[kW] power consumption is built and tested to verify the operation of the proposed circuit.
A Study on Current Waveform Control and Performance Improvement for Inverter Arc Welding Machine

Recently the pelionnance of CO2 arc welding machine has been advanced significantly through the adoption of i invelter circuit topology. which made it possible to improve welding perfonnances such as spatter generation and bead s state. But the conventional inverter arc welding machine generates constant output voltage which cause much spatter g generation dUling short-circuit and arc start time because it is unable to control output current instantaneously. So this p paper representes wavefCnm controlled inverter arc welding machine which control the wavefonn of welding current and t thus to suppress the spatter generation. And the system designed in this paper is the digital controller using single chip m microprocessor of 80C196KC. As a result of perfonnance test for this system, the spatter generation is reduced and s shOlt-circuit time period is stabilized compared to conventional one. And more by using switched mode rectifier for A AC/DC power convelter. unity power factor is maintained and low order halmonic spectrum is supressed.
A Study of Adaptive Load Torque Observer and Robust Precision Position Control of BLDD Motor

A new control method for the precision robust position control of a brushless DC(BLDC) motor for direct drive m motor(BLDDM) system using the asymptotically stable adaptive load torque observer is presented. A precision position c control is obtained for the BLDD motor system appro성mately linearized using the fieldlongrightarroworientation method. Many of t these motor systems have BLDD motor to obtain no backlashes. On the other hand, it has disadvantages such as the h high cost and more complex controller caused by the nonlinear characteristics. And the load torque disturbance is d directly affected to a motor shaft. To r밍ect this problem, stability analysis is calTied out using Lyapunov stability t theorem. Using this results, the stability is proved and load disturbance detected by the asymptotically stable adaptive observer is compensated by feedforwarding the equivalent CUlTent having the fast response.

A High Efficiency DC-DC Converter Using IGBT-MOSFET Parallel Switches

Due to high power ratings and low conduction loss, the TGBT has become more attractive in switching power supplies. However, its lower turn-on and turn-off characteristics than those of MOSFET cause severe switching loss and s switching frequency limitation. This paper proposes 2.4kW. 48V. high efficiency half-bridge DC-DC converter using p paralleled TGBT-MOSFET switch concept to use the merits of TGBTs and MOSFETs. Tn parallel switches. each of I TGBT and MOSFET plays its part during on-periods and switching instants. The switching loss is analyzed by l linearized modelling and the operation of the converter are investigated by simulation results.
A New Modular 3-phase AC-DC Flyback Converter for Telecommunication

Three-phase AC-DC flyback converter with high power factor correction and tight regulation is presented in this p paper. The advantage of the proposed converter does not require expensive high voltage and high cun‘ent devices that a are normally needed in popular boost type 3-phase converter. In this paper the detailed small signal analysis of the m modular 3-phase AC-DC flyback converter is provided for control purposes and also experimental results are included t to confirm the validity of the analysis.
Neural Network Based On-Line Efficiency Optimization Control of a VVVF-Induction Motor Drive

On-line efficiency optimization control of an induction motor drive using neural network is important from the v viewpoints of energy saving and controlling a nonlinear system whose charact81istics are not fully known. This paper p presents a neural networklongleftarrowbased on-line efficiency optimization control for an induction motor drive, which adopts an optimal slip an밍J.lar frequency control. In the proposed scheme, a neuro-controller provides minimal loss operating point i in the whole range of the measured input power. Both simulation and experimental results show that a considerable e energy saving is achieved compared with the conventional constant vlf ratio operation.

using input-output feedback linearization is used to solve t the nonlinear problem of the system. By nonlinear control. the voltage transient response can be faster, and it is also p possible to control the output voltage to be constant with smaller output filter capacitance for load disturbance.

This paper presents the degradation of the system performance according to the vmiation of the rotor time constant. The algorithm for the on-line estimation of rotor time constant is proposed. which is applied to the consistent relationship between the tangent torque angle of the synchronous reference frame and that of stationary reference f frame. New On-line Tuning Scheme of Inductances for Induction Motors in Field Weakening Region

New estimation and tuning schemes of inductance variations for rotor flux oriented (RFO) control of induction motor in field weakening region are presented. Stator transient inductance and stator self inductance are estimated. From estimated stator self inductance. magnetizing inductance is estimated and from estimated stator transient inductance, rotor leakage inductance is estimated. Simulation and experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed s scheme in constant torque and field weakening region.
