MRAC Fuzzy Control for High Performance of Induction Motor Drive

This paper investigates the adaptive control of a fuzzy logic based speed and flux controller fur a vector controlled induction motor drive. A model reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and change of error measured between the motor speed and output of a reference model. The control performance of the model reference adaptive control(MRAC) fuzzy controller is evaluated by simulation for various operating conditions. The validity of the Proposed MRAC fuzzy controller is confirmed by performance results for induction motor drive system.
A Comparative Study on the Performance of Two-Phase and Three-Phase Randomized Pulse Position PWM Scheme for Mitigation of Audible Switching Acoustic Noise in Motor Drives

In this paper, a comparative study on the performance of two-phase and three-phase randomized pulse position PWM scheme for mitigation of audible switching acoustic noise in motor drives is done. In the randomized Pulse Position PW, each of two-Phase or three-phase PWM Pulses is located randomly in each switching interval. Simulation and experimental efforts were executed to investigate the spread effects of Power spectra of inverter output voltage, waveforms of ripple current and audible switching acoustic noise. As results, two-phase RP% scheme is more effective from the viewpoint of switching loss and ease of implementation while the three-phase RPWM scheme is more effective from the viewpoint of the spread effects of power spectra. Also, from the view point of the audible switching acoustic noise in motor drives, two-phase and three-phase RPW schemes are nearly the same.
The Design of Phase Angle Controller Reducing Sub-harmonic Current for Universal Motor in Vacuum Cleaner

The single phase angle control system may become noisy when speed Is modulated with a conventional TRIAC AC controller. But this system is widely used despise of occurring sub-harmonic current because of its simply structure and low cost. Most of the vacuum cleaner drive control system regulates TRIAC's phase angle, so that it is controlled the speed. In the case of marketing product, it is not considered linearity of the speed to minimize occurring harmonic current. The sub-harmonic current reduces effectively in regulating specification TRIAC trigger phase angle. In this paper, we examined about characteristics of phase angle controller and parameter of parallel coil for eliminating sub-harmonic current.
Spectral Analysis of DC Link Ripple Currents in Three-Phase AC/DC/AC PWM Converters

In this paper, do link ripple currents for three-phase ac/dc/ac PWM converters feeding adjustable speed ac machine drives are analysed in a frequency domain. The expression of the harmonic currents is developed by using switching functions of the converter and exponential courier series expansion. The effect of the displacement angle between the switching Periods of line-side converters and motor-side inverters on the dc link ripple currents is Investigated. Also, the influence of asynchronization of PWM is observed. The result of analysis is compared with frequency spectrum which results from PSIM simulation. The proposed analysis technique is useful to understand the principles of P% and to derive an equivalent model of the dc link capacitors in a high frequency range.
A Position Control System of SRM using Digital Hysteresis Controller

This paper presents an implementation of position control system of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) using digital hysteresis controller by TMS320F740 DSP. Although SRM possess several advantages including simple structure and high efficiency, but the control thrive system using power semiconductor device is required to drive this motor. The control drive system increases overall system cost. To overcome this problem and increase the application of SRM, it is needed to develope the servo dave system of SRM. So, the position control system of 1 Hp SRM is developed and evacuated by adaptive switching angle control. The position/speed response characteristics and voltage/current waveforms are presented to prove the capability of SRM for a servo drive application. Moreover, digital hysteresis current controller is developed and evaluated by experimental testing for the purpose of system developmental cost reduction.
MRSF-PWM Method for Acoustic Noise Reduction of Traction Motor Drive Systems

In PWM inverters used in traction motor drive systems, the switching frequency is restricted by their large power capacity and thus the electromagnetic acoustic noise is generated. To reduce such an audible noise, the new MRSF-PWM(Modified Random Switching Frequency PWM) method is proposed. In the Proposed MRSF-PWM method, both triangular wave and sawtooth wave are used together as carrier waves for harmonic diffusion and reference wave is generated by injecting 3rd harmonic into the stone wave to expand the linear control region of output voltages. To verify the validity of the proposed MRSF-PWM method, computer simulations are carried out. And the results show that the MRSF-PWM method is more excellent than other RPWM methods in the aspects of both linearity and harmonic diffusion md more effective than SPWM(Sinusoidal PWM) method for the reduction of an audible noise.

arc welding power supplies are focused mainly on the reduction of spatter generation. The method for reducing the spatters can be approached in several ways: finding the new materials fur consumable electrode and shielding gases, researching on the circuit topology and the controller. In this paper, the metal transfer and several control methods for the
GMAW were described. And it was proposed and compared with other schemes that the control method for reducing spatter by controlling the welding current when short-circuit and re-ignition.
A Control of Vibrator Using PM Excited Transverse Flux Linear Motor

This paper has realized a control system of a vibrator using PM excited Transverse Flux Linear Motor(TFLM). Proposed vibrator can supply a vibration force up to 700[N] at rated current, wide operation range of vibration displacement and high frequency for a tested structure. Also, volume of a vibrator system can be decreased because of a high trust force rato(a thrust force per weight=N/Kg). A proposed vibrator instead of a hydraulic vibrator can improve efficiency and have may advantages of maintenance and management. A desired value command is a vibration frequency and displacement in a controller for a vibrator system and a controlled values we a instant position and velocity of a mover Output value of the controller is phase current controlled by PWM converter. In this research, Dynamic simulation has been executed for analysis of a control algorithm and dvnauuc characteristics and is compared with experimental result.
New Discrete-Time Modeling and Simulation Techniques for PWM converters

New discrete-time modeling and simulation techniques are proposed which take advantages of the special features of PWM converter power stages and their compensation circuits. These techniques provide reduction of system order, and allow for the faster simulation without any numerical convergence problem. A buck converter with two-stage output filter Is employed to confirm the usefulness of the proposed techniques. The simulation results show these techniques can simulate the responoes of PWM converter system up to high frequencies.
A Novel Direct Torque Control of Induction Machines based on Stator Flux

The direct torque control(DTC) of induction machines has the advantages of a simple control scheme and a very quick and robust torque response and its application is extended in the traction field. However, some drawbacks of the conventional DTC strategy using a hysteresis controller are the relatively large torque ripple in the steady state and the variation of switching frequency according to the amplitude of hysteresis bands and the motor operating conditions. In this paper, a navel direct t()roue control scheme of induction machines based on stator flux control and Space Vector Modulation Is proposed to acquire the advantage of a fixed switching period and the minimization of the torque and stator current ripple in a wide speed range. The effect of proposed method has been proven by simulations and experiments.
Improvement of Dynamic Response Characteristics of Parallel PWM Converters Using Fuzzy Logic Controller

In this paper, a fuzzy logic controller(FLC) for parallel operation system of PWM converters with high performances is proposed and a PI controller is also realized to compare with the performances of the proposed FLC. The simulation and experimental results show that performances of the proposed FLC are far more excellent compared with those of PI controller, especially in points of DC voltage transient response characteristics and current control transient response characteristics at step increase of rated load. To verify the superiorities of the proposed FLC and actually apply it in industrial field, Simulation iud experimental results are provided to verify the implemented a PWM converter system with 15kw capacity in paralleled with two 7.5kW PWM converters.
