Design of Non-Dissipative Snubber for Current-Fed Half-bridge Converter Operating at Duty Ratio above 0.5

Since the switching device of current-fed bridge-type topology suffers from him-off voltage spikes associated with larger energy than that of voltage-fed topology, a high-efficiency non-dissipative snubber is considered essential. However, the complicated operation and the capricious performance according to various conditions make the design of the non-dissipative difficult. In this paper, the non-dissipative snubber employed in the current-fed half-bridge converter operating at a duty ratio above 0.5 is completely analyzed and the design considerations are discussed. Some design examples and the experimental results are provided to confirm the analysis and design presented in this paper
Adaptive Feed-forward Control with Reference Model for Position Controller

This paper proposed a feed-forward adaptive position controller that is robust for variable Inertia. The control system consists of PI Position controller, feed-forward and model reference adaptive control. A parameter g(t) of the feed-forward adaptive position controller is adapted by using both the reference model speed and position error. So it improves the transient response and reduces the settling time. And normalization function Is used to make linear adaptation time. The validity of the feed-forward adaptive controller is confirmed by simulation results.
A New Active Lossless Snubber for Half-Bridge Dual Converter

A new active lossless snubber for half-bridge dual converter(that is called'dual converter') is proposed in this paper It features soft switching(ZVS) as well as turn-off snubbing in both main and auxiliary switches. Therefore, it helps the dual converter to operate at the higher frequency with a higher efficiency and smaller-sized reactive components. Moreover, since it uses parasitic components, such as leakage inductances and switch output capacitances etc, to achieve the ZVS of power switches, it has simpler structure and lower cost of production. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design consideration are presented. To confirm the operation, features, and validity of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a 200w, 24V/DC-200V/DC proto-type are presented.
A High-Performance Position Sensorless Motion Control System of Reluctance Synchronous Motor with Direct Torque Control

This paper presents an implementation of high-dynamic performance of position sensorless motion control system of Reluctance Synchronous Motor(RSM) drives for an industrial servo system with direct torque control(DTC). The problems of high-dynamic performance and maximum efficiency RSM drives controlled by DTC are saturation of stator linkage flux and nonlinear inductance characteristics with various load currents. Current-Source PWM Inverter Equipped with DSP for Photovoltaic System

This paper presents a current-source-inverter based on a buck-boost configuration md its application for residential photovoltaic system. The proposed circuit has five switches. Among them, only one switch acts as chopping, and the other determine the polarity of output; therefore, it can reduce the switching loss. Because the input inductor current is operated on the discontinuous conduction mode, high power factor can be achieved without additional input current controller. So the overall system shows a simple structure. The operational modes are analysed in depth, and then it was verified through the experimental results using a 150[W] prototype equipped with digital signal processor TMS320F241.
A New Phase Shift Full Bridge Converter with Serially Connected Two Transformers

A new phase shift full bridge (PSFB) converter with serially connected two transformers for telecommunication equipments of several hundred watts is proposed. The main features of the proposed converter are a wide input voltage range, an easiness to meet the requirement for zero voltage switching (ZVS) condition at a light load, and a small output voltage ripple. Furthermore, the serially connected two transformers can replace both a main transformer and an output inductor since the two transformers act as not only a main transformer but an output inductor by turns. Therefore, there is no need to use an output inductor, then the proposed converter features high power density. A mode analysis, design equations through a large signal modeling, and experimental results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed converter.
Development of High Voltage Power Supply for Semi-Active Suspension System Using ER Fluids

The electrorheological(ER) fluid is a new material and is used for the mechanical motion devices such as semi-active suspensions, high speed clutches, and vibration isolators. The ER fluid applications need high voltage power supplies having special requirements to control the viscosity of the ER fluid. This paper deals with the development of the high voltage power supply for the semi-active suspension system using the ER fluid. The characteristics of the ER fluid are analyzed, and the design and implementation of the high voltage power supply are presented. It is well demonstrated through the experiment that the developed high voltage power supply shows a good performance suitable for the ER fluid application.
Speed Controller Design considering Current Controller Dynamics for Industry Servo Applications

This paper presents a novel PID speed controller for industry servo applications. Considering the speed loop delay, it allows an automatic controller bandwidth/gain setup with the bandwidth of current controller. In addition, the proposed design nile gives uniformly satisfactory performance and the motor speed stays on a desired response curve with minimal oscillation and settling time. This approach can be applied in conjunction with the cascaded position controller which is widely used in practice.
The Position Sensorless Control of SRG using the Instantaneous Flux

In this paper, the instantaneous flux Is applied to control the position of the SRG (Switched Reluctance Generator) without position sensor. The position information of the rotor is required in the drive of SRG. These data are generally obtained by a shaft encoder or resolver. In some cases, the EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference), vibration, thermal, and humidity environments may cause the difficulties in maintaining the satisfactory performance for the position detection. Therefore, the elimination of the position and speed sensor is needed. In this paper, a new method for the position estimation of the SRG is proposed. The estimation of the flux is calculated by using the measured voltage and current. The rotor position gets from the flux profile. The output voltage is also controlled constantly by PR control algorithm. These methods are verified by computer simulations md experiments using DSP. Experimental results certificate that the proposed method is able to control the SRG stable, and keep the output voltage constant in spite of changing of the load.
The Improved Characteristics of the Stand-alone PV System by the Independent Battery Control Method

This paper studies the stand-alone photovoltaic system for the solar lighting lamp. The solar lighting lamp has PV modules, batteries, and charge & discharge system. The charge efficiency is improved for the control of each battery which is divided the charge from the discharge to change the structure of existing solar lighting lamp charge & discharge system. so, the charge and discharge times are reduced of 50% and the depth of discharge control can be controlled in the discharge cut off voltage. It can be effective of the battery use. If a battery is out of order, this system can be executed for a regular period. So we saved the repair cost and developed of system's stabilization. It Is possible to make economical effects to apply for solar lighting lamp used photovoltaic system.
Design of Voltage Source PWM Converter with AC Input LCL Filter

In this paper, a design method of LCL filter at the AC input side of a voltage source PWM converter is proposed. Effective method to prevent pollution of the utility caused by high frequency current ripple is to use a AC input LCL filter, The C elements in the filter provide a low impedance path for the high frequency component, preventing them from entering the utility. The resistors In series with the capacitors are used for damping the resonance in the filter The design examples are shown and the validity of the proposed design method is verified through the PSIM simulation.
Wireless Parallel Operation Control of N+l Redundant UPS System

In this paper, a novel wireless parallel operation algorithm of N+l redundant UPS system with no control interconnections for load-sharing is presented. The proposed control system eliminates the sensing noise and interconnections interference of conventional parallel operation system. To reduce a reactive power deviation in wireless control method, this technique automatically compensates for inverter parameter variation and line impedance imbalances with wireless auto-tuning method. In addition, to increase reliability on transient characteristics of parallel operation, a virtual injected impedance is adopted to eliminate a circulation current among inverter modules. Simulation results are provided in this paper to prove the proposed novel wireless algorithm.
