In this paper the novel operation method of concentration winding BLDC motor of air conditioner compressor to improve efficiency is proposed.. Because it demands generally the need of more confidential sensorless operation, it Is hard to apply to three phases - three excited operation by reason of intricate calculations. In order to improve the defects of 120 degrees electrical conduction method, a novel PW Pattern is proposed. Established three phases - two excited system on real load air conditioner is used in experiment.

In this paper, a two-phase DZRCD(Dual Zero Vector Modes RCD) technique is proposed to develope the problem of a conventional two-phase RCD-PWM (Random Centered Distribution PWM) which gives the power spectra of narrow band range in the high modulation index (M). For the unplementation of the proposed method, a 16-bit micro-controller Cl67 was used and the experiments were conducted with the 1.5kw induction motor under no load condition. The experimental results show that the voltage / current spectra is spread to a wide band range, and the switching noise of motor is reduced by the proposed method compared to the conventional random operation.
Speed Control of Three Phase Slotless PM BLDC Motor Using Single Sensor

Slotless Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor(PM BLDC) with the characteristics of high speed and power density has been more widely used In Industrial and factory machine. Generally, PM BLDC meter is necessary that the three Hall-lCs evenly be distributed around the stator circumference in case of the 3 phase motor. The Hall-ICs are set up in PM BLDC Motor to detect the main flux from the rotor. therefore the output signal from Hall-ICs is used to drive a power transistor to control the stator winding current. However, instead of using three Hall-ICs, if it used only one Hall-IC, we can estimate information of the others phase in sequence through a rotor This paper identified the characteristics and performance by using one Hall-IC with the 3-phase, 2-pole, 6-slot PM BLDC motor.
Single-Tuned Active Filter with Function of Double-Tuned Active Filter

This paper deals with the hybrid active filter which can reduce the 11th/13th harmonics in AC network by using the single tuned filter. Since the proposed algorithm uses the detuning compensation capability of the filter, the output voltage of the proposed active power filter is changed according to the capacitance of capacitors, magnitude of harmonic current, resonance frequency and control mode. In this paper, the control characteristics and the design of hybrid active filter is investigated. A new hybrid active filter with new algorithm, which is an active filter with single tuned filter instead of double tuned filter, is proposed.
A Study on Application of Transverse Flux Linear Motor to Indexer System

The servo motor is used for the driving power source of the conventional linear conveyor system. The mechanical power transfer system is needed for converting the circular to the linear operation. But this system causes some problems of position error, the necessity of the periodical maintenance. In this paper the study on application of transverse flux linear motor(TFLM) is carried out for the indexer system of LCD processing because TFLM has much thrust per a volume than the conventional motor. TFLM is suitable system for the indexer system because of capacity of acceleration, maximum speed and precision of the position, etc.
Forward Converter Using 300W Planar Transformer

In this paper, the design and implementation of a high power(300W) forward converter using a planar transformer is presented. The overall size and volume of the converter is decreased by replacing a planar transformer in stead of using a conventional winding transformer. Due to the decreased size and volume, power density of the applied forward converter is increased. Also, in this paper, the 300W ZVS forward converter with active clamp snubber circuit is compared to the 300W hard switching forward converter planar transformer, the decreased size and volume, the 300W ZVS forward converter with active clamp snubber circuit, 30W hard switching forward converter.
A New Anti-Islanding Method for Utility Interconnection of Distributed Power Generation System

This paper presents a new anti-islanding method for distributed power generation system (DPGS) using renewable energy. Based on the concept of real and reactive power mismatch, three different islanding conditions are analyzed. It is shown via analysis that islanding voltage is a function of real power alone, where as its frequency is a function of both real and reactive power. Using this analysis, a new anti-islanding method is developed. The proposed protection algorithm continuously perturbs (
5%) the reactive power supplied by DPGS while simultaneously monitoring the utility voltage and frequency. If a measurable frequency deviation took place by islanding, the real power of DPGS is further reduced to 80%. This detection method is shown to be fast acting under resonant loads. Possible islanding conditions are simulated and verified with analysis. Experimental results on a 0.5kW utility-interactive fuel cell system are suggested.
Design Procedure of the Inverter for LCD Backlight using Piezoelectric Transformer

Optimal parameters were selected to design an inverter circuit that drives a cold cathode fluorescent lamp for LCD backlight using a piezoelectric transformer and it was verified by an experiment. In this paper, the applied inverter topologies are a push-pull type and a half-bridge type, and the dimming control methods of these drive system were used a analog control method and a burst control method each other. When change a control voltage from 2.5V to 4.5V in the analog control method, the brightness 0-100% was seen in current 1-6 mA. And, the input/output efficiency were obtained 90.3%. Also, the control performance of 1-6 mA was seen in duty ratio 5-50% in the burst control method, and the input/output efficiency of the designed inverter got 82.1%.
Digital Firing Control for Thyristor Converter

The conventional analog-based firing circuit can be implemented by comparing a linearly decreasing periodic sawtooth waveform synchronized to the ac supply, with a control signal corresponding to the desired converter delay angle. This circuit requires a large number of passive components (resistance and capacitor) and careful adjustment of the synchronization circuity. In this paper a novel firing circuit is proposed for thyristor switch. The proposed circuit is implemented by using digital components(FPGA, A/D, and DSP etc.) on the basis of the analog cosine method.
Performance Analysis of Improved Adaptive Predictive Filter to Generate Reference Signal in Active Power Filter

The performance of active power filter depends on the inverter characteristic, the control method, and the accuracy of reference signal generator. The accuracy of reference signal generator is the most critical item to determine the performance of active power filter. This paper introduces a novel reference signal generator composed of improved adaptive predictive filter. The performance of proposed reference signal generator was verified by means of simulation with MATLAB. The application feasibility was evaluated by building and experimenting a single-phase active power filter based on the proposed reference generator, which was implemented in the DSP(digital signal processor) TMS320C31. Both simulation and experimental results confirm that the proposed reference signal generator can be utilized for the active power filter.
A study of Self-Tuning PI Speed Controller Based on Fuzzy for Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor

Servo system has commonly adapted PI controller with fixed gains, because of its simplicity and determinative relationship among the parameters. The fixed gains PI system may be applied well to some operation conditions, but not non-linearities, complex and time variant operation conditions. For solving these problems, another conventional method, 'variable gun schedule according to speed', is published. The value of gain is determined according to the absolute value of the mover real speed. In this paper, FSTPIC(Fuzzy Self-Tuning PI Controller) is proposed based on various experiences to rapidly reduce speed error and to secure a good speed response characteristics. The effectiveness of proposed algorithms is demonstrated by comparing to two conventional gain systems via 4-quadrant operation.
A Nonlinear Friction Torque Compensation of Servo System with Double Speed Controller

Servo motor systems with ball-screw and timing-belt are widely used in NC, robot, FA and industrial applications. However, the nonlinear friction torque and damping effect in machine elements reduce the control performance. Especially tracking errors in trajectory control and very low velocity control range are serious due to the break-away friction and Stribeck effects. In this paper, a new double speed controller is proposed for compensation of the nonlinear friction torque. The proposed double speed controller has outer speed controller and inner friction torque compensator. The proposed friction torque compensator compensates the nonlinear friction torque with actual speed and speed error information. Due to the actual information for friction torque compensator without parameters and mathematical model of motor, proposed compensator is very simple structure and the stability is very high. The proposed compensator is verified by simulation and experimental results.
The Simplified PWM Method using Serial Communication in Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter

As h-bridge multilevel inverter is connected with series of single phase power cell, so it obtain high voltage using low voltage power semi-conductor and output voltage similar to sine wave. In this topology, the number of power cell increases in proportion to the output voltage level. Therefore, there are drawbacks that are responsibility against operating ability of main controller and signal wire increase. However, we can overcome this problems by the substitution of serial communication for the PWM signal in power cell control. Additionally, it has merits of reliability and maintenance. This paper deals with the synchronization and phase-shift method of power cell PWM using CAN(Controller Area Network) communication interrupt in H-bridge multilevel inverter. The advantages of proposed method are signal-line simplification using serial communication between main controller and cell controller, burden reduction in main controller, modularization of power cell, easy protection of each power cell, expandability improvement and reliability increase of control signal and power cell. This paper establishes propriety and reliability of proposed method through experiment of 13-level H-bridge multilevel inverter.
HID Ballast using Soft Switching Multi Level Inverter

The soft switching is applied to the multi-level inverter to enhance the characteristics of HID(High Intensity Discharge) Ballast in headlight of vehicle. The electrical properties are investigated. The available modeling of the ballast in steady-state is calculated using mathematical method and the result is used in analyzing the power characteristics and design of the system. Finally the designed system md modeling is confirmed by the experiment.
Anti-Slip Control of Railway Vehicle Using Load Torque Disturbance Observer and Speed Sensor-less Vector Control

In electric motor coaches. the rolling stocks move by the adhesive effort between rail and driving wheel. Generally, the adhesive effort is defined by the function of both the weight of electric motor coach and the adhesive effort between rails and driving wheel. The characteristics of adhesive effort is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheel. When the adhesive effort decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. This paper proposes a re-adhesion control based on disturbance observer and sensor-less vector control. The numerical simulation and experimental results point out that the proposed readhesion control system has the desired driving wheel torque response for the tested bogie system of electric coach. Based on this estimated adhesive effort, the re-adhesion control is performed to obtain the maximum transfer of the tractive effort.
