Analysis about technology requirements for Development of Disaster Detecting Satellite Sensor

Since concentration of greenhouse gas increases continuously from human's fossil fuel use, urbanization, and cultivation, it is trend that climate change is appearing. In Addition, in 20th century, occurrence of disaster is accidental and huge, and damage level also increases gradually. Therefore, in order to preserve the territory and to protect people's life and property against new type disasters, disaster detection satellite (payloads) development is required urgently. In this paper, we conduct a research and development for the prompt preemptive action when occurred a disaster, in particularly, about the disaster observation optimized at Korea's geographical features for the irregular future disasters. For the payload design which is specialized detect disasters, we create a tech tree of satellite imagery applications based 10 disaster types, and analyze the satellite sensor technologies referred to Landsat-8, Worldview-3 and ALOS-2.

The doorlock using buttons has been widely used since it does not exploit the physical key and has much functions though it is cheap. However, the doorlock has problems where it is easy to forget the secret number since the user has to remember the number and difficult to keep secure when the one secret number has been used for a long time. In this paper, we propose the doorlock system using the near field communication. The proposed system controls the open and close of the doorlock using user data acquired by the near field communication tag, The implemented doorlock system has the benefit to control the doorlock without a secret number.
A Study on the CSMA/CA Performance Improvement based IEEE 802.15.6

MAC protocol for WBAN performs CSMA/CA(:Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance)algorithm that handles traffic which occurs in emergency with top priority in order to deal with variable data of sensor node for medicine. Emergency message that node sends undergoes collision and delay of transmission by retransmission of emergency message and waste of energy by retransmission. This paper suggests algorithm that minimizes loss of frame caused by collision and applies different backoff parameters by setting order of priority between MAC instruction frame and data frame in CSMA/CA algorithm case which applies order of priority queuing to improve aforementioned problem. According to performance evaluation, it has been found that using suggested MAC protocol showed lower collision probability, higher packet transmission processing ratio and lower packet loss compared with using IEEE 802.15.6.
Efficient LDPC Decoding Algorithm Using Node Monitoring

In this paper, we proposed an efficient algorithm using Node monitoring (NM) and Piecewise Linear Function Approximation(: NP) for reducing the complexity of LDPC code decoding. Proposed NM algorithm is based on a new node-threshold method together with message passing algorithm. Piecewise linear function approximation is used to reduce the complexity of the algorithm. This new algorithm was simulated in order to verify its efficiency. Complexity of our new NM algorithm is improved to about 20% compared with well-known methods according to simulation results.
An Efficient Algorithm for finding Optimal Spans to determine R=1/2 Rate Systematic Convolutional Self-Doubly Orthogonal Codes

In this paper, a new method for finding optimal and short span in Convolutional Self-Doubly Orthogonal(CDO) codes are proposed. This new algorithm based on Parallel Implicitly-Exhaustive search, where we applied dynamic search space reduction methods in order to reduce computational time for finding Optimal Span for R=1/2 rate CDO codes. The simulation results shows that speedup and error correction performance of the new algorithm is better.
A Compact CPW-fed Antenna for 2.4 GHz WLAN applications

In this paper, a compact CPW-fed antenna for 2.45 GHz band WLAN applications is presented. The proposed antenna which has a geometry of folded stub and slot is fabricated into an inexpensive FR-4 substrate that has a dielectric constant of 4.2 and a thickness of 1.0 mm with optimized parameters obtained by simulation, and then measured. From measured result, we confirmed available operation as antenna for WLAN applications by obtaining the return loss level of < -10 dB in the frequency band of 2.4-2.484 GHz.

With the successful deployment of 4G mobile communications such as Long-Term Evolution(: LTE), global leading countries including Europe, China, and Japan have been made an effort to take the lead in technology, standardization, and market with targeting the commercialization of 5G mobile communication in 2020. For the sensor node or collection node operating with a battery in a wireless sensor network, MAC protocols with improved energy efficiency are important performance factors. In this paper, in order to improve the restrictive capability in accordance with the fixed activity period of the duty cycle technology in the MAC protocol for wireless sensor networks, we propose a periodic adaptive wakeup technique based on receive prediction. The proposed technique is through a performance evaluation using the CC2500 RF transceiver and C8051F330 microcontroller based wireless node, to analyze the minimum active period. As a result, it was confirmed that it is possible to improve energy efficiency by adaptively changing the sleep period in accordance with the change of period.

The recent trend is that diesel power generation on islands where its prime cost for power generation is high is replaced by new and renewable energy. Therefore, south Jeolla province is progressing the construction project of self-sufficient islands for the areas where power is supplied by depending on diesel generators, which is the project that power is supplied through eco-friendly energy source using sunlight, wind power and energy storage device etc. However, it is difficult to construct new and renewable energy source with the capacity to respond to the load perfectly due to its environmental and geographical conditions regarding capacity design of new and renewable energy. Besides, Microgrid design considering appropriate capacity design of the system components and efficient operation is required through the analysis of climate conditions and load patterns from the design stage for optimal composition of a hybrid system with economic feasibility. Therefore, this study is aimed to conduct a research on optimal combination, capacity calculation and economic feasibility by comprising a hybrid power generation system which will replace 40% of power generation by diesel as new and renewable energy source for Geomun Island where has more than 300 households and requires expansion of the facility among islands located in southwest coast.
A Study on non-linear trajectory shaped apparatus applied solar tracking device

In this paper, 1-axis tracking mechanism of solar-cell panel, which is able to rotate from -90 degree to +90 degree for maintaining always perpendicular between solar-cell panel and sun, was analyzed. This paper propose the non-linear shaped guidance and analyze mathematical formulation of non-linear shape. This analysis shows that it is able to identify the non-linear shaped guidance. Especially, even though the length of rotating link have changed, the non-linear shaped guidance could be confirm with proper size. As effectiveness of this result, 10% efficiency rising is estimated compared to the conventional 1-axis tracking mechanism and also optimal non-linear shaped guidance can be suggested for various size of solar-cell panel. Therefore the flexible mass-production is possible for various size of non-linear shaped guidance.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of increased emotional labor of firemen on job satisfaction. As a result, the higher the emotional labor of firefighters is, the higher job stress (

, p=0.000). As they play an important role to protect the safety and property of citizens. their job satisfaction becomes the driving force of their duty. Therefore, we think that some systematic and substantial prevention curriculum to manage their emotional labor is required.
A Study on Face Recognition System Using LDA and SVM

This study proposed a more stable robust recognition algorithm which detects faces reliably even in cases where there are changes in lighting and angle of view, as well it satisfies efficiency in calculation and detection performance. The algorithm proposed detects the face area alone after normalization through pre-processing and obtains a feature vector using (PCA). Also, by applying the feature vector obtained for SVM, face areas can be tested. After the testing, the feature vector is applied to LDA and using Euclidean distance in the 2nd dimension, the final analysis and matching is performed. The algorithm proposed in this study could increase the stability and accuracy of recognition rates and as a large amount of calculation was not necessary due to the use of two dimensions, real-time recognition was possible.
