Analysis of the estuary outflow characteristics of floating debris in the downstream of Nakdong River using satellite location tracking buoys

The present study is to identify discharge characteristic from the mouth of floating debris in the Nakdong River through real time tracking of moving route and by analyzing hydrometeorologic environmental. To identify the path and route of outflow through the mouth of the river of floating debris, small-sized buoy equipped with satellite location transmitters was used. Moreover, to identify hydrometeorologic environmental, flux of the river, change of discharge of the River-Mouth Weir and wind direction of the mouth of the river area were analyzed. From now on, the present study is expected to be utilized as basic data to identify damage and flowing into nearby ocean of the floating debris of Nakdong River in time of severe rain storm.
A Survey of IEEE 1588 Time Synchronization Performance

Clock or time synchronization protocol is one of the crucial factors that could determine the quality of the communication. With the rapid development of the network technology, more robust clock synchronization algorithm is required. IEEE 1588 is one of the possible solutions for a robust clock synchronization algorithm; however, there are still some challenges that need to be concerned in IEEE 1588 in term of reducing and stabilizing the PDV value. This survey paper shows several solutions that could improve the performance of IEEE 1588, including modifying the PTP message transmission, optimizing PTP method, filtering techniques, and using the hardware timestamp instead of application layer timestamp, and so on. Despite the improvement that is created with these techniques, the clock synchronization algorithm is still an open issue in the network communication.
Fisheye Image Correction with Ellipsoid Model

General method for correcting the distortion caused by the characteristic of the fish-eye lens may be classified in two ways. The first method is a calibration method using a mathematical model taking into account the characteristics of the lens, the second method is a method using only the distortion correction image, regardless of the lens. When considering the characteristics of the lens, calibration equation can be calculated geometrically from the relationship between the three-dimensional real-world coordinates and two-dimensional image coordinates and the parameters of lens. However, it is not suitable for ellipsoid type lens, because of existing research papers have been corrected on the spherical-type fisheye lens. In this paper, we propose a method for correcting geometrically using fish-eye lens as an ellipsoid model. Through a calibration picture, it can be seen that the proposed method is valid.

In this paper, it is proposed to detect and track pedestrian and analyse tracking performance with nighttime CCTV video. The detection is performed by a cascade classifier with Haar-like feature trained with Adaboost algorithm. Tracking pedestrian is performed by a particle filter. As results of experiments, it is introduced that efficient number of particles and the distributions are applied to track pedestrian at the night-time. Performance of detection and tracking is verified with nighttime CCTV video that is obtained at alleys etc.
A Case Study of the Breakdown Evaluation to the Rotary Machine

In this paper, We study case for rotary machine with a breakdown analysis. Also We analyze the solution of the safety and the future breakdown of the each rotary machine through vibration analysis using measurement data. The implementation of the measurement and the test results are discussed. The result that is applied condition Monitoring & Diagnostics on this paper show the future breakdown of rotary machine.

Rotating equipment seldom fails without notice, so breakdowns can usually be predicted and avoided by watching for signs of failure. In this paper, We study case for rotary machine with a breakdown analysis. Also We analyze the solution of the safety and the future breakdown of the each rotary machine through vibration analysis using measurement data. The implementation of the measurement and the test results are discussed. The result with suggested method showed netter stable Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics.

This paper describes the implementation of the accelerated virtual switch using Intel DPDK(Data Plane Development Kit), and evaluates the virtual network functions of the virtual switch which is one of the most important components to build a virtual network for cloud computing. Nowadays, new information service platforms are appeared from the interconnection of intelligent IT systems like IoT(Internet of Things). And many companies want to use the new service platform for their new application service. The companies can apply there new service early which needs small investment and responses adaptively to the fast change of consumer environment. Using cloud computing technology, the new business service can be introduced as a commercial IT service for the time to market. In this study, an implementation and investigation were performed for the accelerated virtual switch, called Intel DPDK virtual switch, which is using multi processors in network interface card for virtual network functions. It can be useful for Internet-oriented companies to leverage the new cloud service and businesses for its creativeness.
The analysis of the relationship between the throughput and the wireless channel conditions of a LTE mobile communication system

As a representative system of the 4th generation mobile communication system, LTE provides much higher transmission rate than the former ones. Considering the varying property that a wireless environment shows, the transmission rate is influenced very deeply by the wireless channel conditions. The transmission rate is one of the most important attributes that has a primary effect on user's satisfaction of the service provided through the LTE system. After we have selected a few metrics that indicate the wireless channel quality, therefore, we have conducted a measurement for the metrics over the real commercial LTE system. By analyzing the measured results, we have found that the channel quality affect more on the transmission rate as the channel quality becomes poorer.

Nowadays, there are many innovative products in the pro-audio market thanks to advanced IT technology, DSP is very important technology to process high quality audio signal in SR(Sound Reinforcement) system. Digital audio technology that converged with IT technology can give new user-experience. In this paper, we present a new digital crossover system for active speakers using DSP and network technology. The prototype of crossover module consists of various audio process module such as filters, delay, phase controls and also it provides user to remote monitoring and remote control features by internet connection.

In this paper, we proposed that immersive audio effect method using the effective noise to improve engagement in free-viewpoint TV(FTV) service. In the basketball court, we monitored the frequency spectrums by acquiring continuous audio data of players and referee using shotgun and wireless microphone. By analyzing this spectrum, in case that users zoomed in, we determined whether it is effective frequency or not. Therefore when users using FTV service zoom in toward the object, it is proposed that we need to utilize unnecessary noise instead of removing that. it will be able to be useful for an immersive audio implementation of FTV.
Comparison Speed of Pedestrian Detection with Parallel Processing Graphic Processor and General Purpose Processor

Video based object detection is basic technology of implementing smart CCTV system. Various features and algorithms are developed to detect object, however computations of them increase with the performance. In this paper, performances of object detection algorithms with GPU and CPU are compared. Adaboost and SVM algorithm which are widely used to detect pedestrian detection are implemented with CPU and GPU, and speeds of detection processing are compared for the same video. As results of frame rate comparison of Adaboost and SVM algorithm, it is shown that the frame rate with GPU is faster than CPU.

The majority of electric power in the domestic manned islands with off-grid power system is supplied by the diesel generators. However, in the case of off-grid islands the fuel cost is more expensive to inland areas and difficult to transport them to islands. So the development of renewable energy system using natural resource have been recently introduced. But renewable energy that depend on the natural environment, it is necessary to organized the hybrid system with existing diesel engine because the energy is difficult to maintain stable electric power. This paper presents the results of a feasibility study of hybrid system with energy storage system such as wind, solar, battery and diesel engine. The study included off-grid island as the Seogeochado islands located in Jeolanamdo Province. And, the paper proposed a optimal capacity of hybrid system configuration to maintain carbon free with minimum investment cost. the analysis of economic adaptability performed by HOMER program.

Power system for renewable energy is composed of module, transform DC power into AC power inverter, control power flow and device for a charge of the grid-connected. Power system for renewable energy produce the most DC power, when this system is much insolation in summer and daytime. But if the certain temperature rises above, the essential grid-connected power inverter is take a nose dive. There, in this paper, we propose an improved reduction of heating system. In addition, selection of the most serious heat region and through analysis of temperature characteristics according to location and distance derive the optimal model.
Optimal Structures of a Neural Network Based on OpenCV for a Golf Ball Recognition

In this paper the optimal structure of a neural network based on OpenCV for a golf ball recognition and the intensity of ROI(Region Of Interest) are calculated. The system is composed of preprocess, image processing and machine learning, and a learning model is obtained by multi-layer perceptron using the inputs of 7 Hu's invariant moments, box ration extracted by vertical and horizontal length or
calculated by area of ROI. Simulation results show that optimal numbers of hidden layer and the node of neuron are selected to 2 and 9 respectively considering the recognition rate and running time, and optimal intensity of ROI is selected to 200.
Performance Evaluation of Fixed-Grid File Index on NAND Flash Memory

Since a NAND-flash memory is able to keep data during electricity-off and has small cost to store data per bytes, it is widely used on hand-held devices. It is necessary to use an index in order to process mass data effectively on the flash memory. However, since the flash memory requires high cost for a write operation and does not support an overwrite operation, it is possible to reduce the performance of the index when the disk based index is exploited. In this paper, we implement the fixed grid file index and evaluate the performance of the index on various conditions. To do this, we measure the average processing time by the ratio of query operations and update operations. We also the compare the processing times of the flash memory with those of the magnetic disk.
An Effective Algorithm for Diagnosing Sensor Node Faults

The possible erroneous output data of the sensor nodes can cause the performance limit or the degradation of the reliability in the whole wireless sensor networks(WSN). In this paper, we propose a new sensor node scheme with multiple sensors and a new fault diagnostic algorithm. The algorithm can increase the reliability of the whole WSNs by utilizing measurements of the multiple sensors on the node and by determining the validity of the date by comparing the value of each sensor. It can increase the cost and complexity of the node, but is suitable for the area where the high reliability is critical.
Congestion Control Mechanism for Efficient Network Environment in WMSN

Wireless multimedia sensor network senses and transfers mass multimedia data. Also, it is sensitive to latency. This thesis proposes a routing technique based on traffic priority in order to improve the network efficiency by minimizing latency. In addition, it proposes a congestion control mechanism that uses packet service time, packet inter-arrival time, buffer usage, etc. In this thesis, we verified the reduction of packet latency in accordance with the quality level of packet as a result of the performance analysis through the simulation method. Also, we verified that the proposed mechanism maintained a reliable network state by preventing packet loss due to network overload.
Development of Mobile AR Contents for Infant English Cognitive Training

Importance and necessity is enlarged due to globalization. So, English education is diverse and recently applies AR(Augmented Reality) technology to offer immersion and interest. Contents in this paper are Mobile AR contents for training infant English cognition. Our system displays teaching aid objects into 3D models, lets infants listen to English conversation and teaches them everyday English like a play. Considering infants that like games, this system adds an English game about each object of teach aids. To attract infants and parents interest persistingly, We give them immersion and interest by suggesting a different event at each step.
Development of Outdoor Augmented Reality Based 3D Visualization Application for Realistic Experience of Structures

Recently, as AR(Augmented Reality) technology develops, it is used in field of diverse industry and specially affects structures and human interaction in field of architecture. This paper proposes 3D visualization application for realistic experience of structures by using outdoor AR technology. Proposed application visualizes structures such as high buildings, bridges, ships, and so on to be constructed in future, considering ambient environment by using outdoor AR technology, provides precisely user structures after completing construction and offers more realistic information and immersion as compared with previous methods.
Prediction of Red Tide Occurrence by using Oceanic and Atmospheric Data by Satellite

Red tide occurs every year in the coastal seas of the South Korea, This phenomena has become a national issue of environmental and economic damage. In this study, we analyzed a suitable conditions to occur the red tide by using oceanic and atmospheric data during 10 years, These factors were applied to predict the red tide occurrence from 2012 to 2014. As a result, in 2012 and 2013, it is able to alarm the red tide occurrence before 6~11 days. However, in compared to the normal year and 2014, the prediction of red tide occurrence were less accurate because of more precipitation, short sunshine duration, low temperature waters. Therefore, it is necessary to further investigate the impact of sunshine duration(Solar radiation) on red tide occurrence, it is more necessary to consider the comprehensive analysis using additional oceanic and atmospheric factors.
