Implementation Plan and Requirements Analysis of Access Control for Cyber Security of Nuclear Power Plants

The Nuclear Power Plants(: NPP) are being protected as national infrastructure, and instrumentation and control(: I&C) systems are one of the principle facilities of the NPP, which perform the protection, control, and monitoring function. The I&C systems are being evolved into digitalization based on computer and network technology from analog system. In addition, the I&C systems are mostly employ the specialized logic controllers which are dedicated for the NPP, but the usage of generalized IT resources are steadily increased. The cyber security issues for the NPP are being emerged due to cyber incidents by Stuxnet and various accidents in the NPP. In this paper, hybrid access control model is proposed which are applicable to I&C system by analyzing the access control requirements specified in regulatory guides. The safety of in-service and under construction of NPP are effectively increased by applying proposed hybrid model.
Joint Control of Duty Cycle and Beacon Tracking in IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN

Since most of devices in the IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN are expected to operate on batteries, they must be designed to consume energy in a very conservative way. Two energy conservation algorithms are proposed for the LR-WPAN: DDC (Dynamic Duty Cycle) and DBT (Dynamic Beacon Tracking). The DDC algorithm adjusts duty cycle dynamically depending on channel conditions. The DBT algorithm switches beacon tracking mode on and off adaptively depending on traffic conditions. Combining the two algorithms reduces energy consumption more efficiently for a wide range of input loads, while maintaining frame delivery ratio and average delay at satisfactory levels.
Performance of Relay Networks with Partially Differential Modulation Scheme Depending on Energy Allocation in Railway Environments

In relay networks, relay nodes amplify or demodulate/remodulate the received signal from the transmitter, and transmit that signal to the receiver. The received signals from several relays are combined and used for demodulation at the receiver, which enhances the performance of the overall system. Partially differential modulation scheme which uses coherent modulation at the relay and non-coherent modulation scheme at the receiver is adopted for modulation scheme. We analyze the performance of systems depending on various energy allocations of source and relays given the total energy in relay networks.
Implementation of Ku-band Low Noise Block for Global Multi-Band Digital Satellite Broadcasting

In this paper, a Multi-Band Ku-band down converter was designed for reception of multi-band digital satellite broadcasting. The Multi-band low-nose down converter was designed to form four local oscillator frequencies (9.75, 10, 10.75 and 11.3GHz) representing a low phase noise due to VCO-PLL with respect to input signals of 10.7 to 12.75GHz and 3-stage low noise amplifier circuit by broadband noise matching, and to select an one band of intermediate frequency (IF) channels by digital control. The developed low-noise downconverter exhibited the full conversion gain of 64dB, and the noise figure of low-noise amplifier was 0.7dB, the P1dB of output signal 15dBm, and the phase noise -73dBc@100Hz at the band 1 carrier frequency of 9.75GHz. The low noise block downconverter (LNB) for receiving four-band digital satellite broadcasting designed in this paper can be used for satellite broadcasting of vessels navigating international waters.

In this paper, to provide a method for providing a network separation subscriber`s facilities. How to provide this subscriber`s facilities include phase generating authorization key in server, saving activation file in portable data medium included server`s authorization key, executing saved activation file in client`s portable storage and providing virtual machine by result client`s execute file. In case of moving work, the virtual subscriver`s facility can provide for a business traveler.
Self-Regularization Method for Image Restoration

This paper suggests a new method of finding regularization parameter for image restoration problems. Wiener filter requires priori information such that power spectrums of original image and noise. Constrained least squares restoration also requires knowledge of the noise level. If the prior information is not available, separate optimization functions for Tikhonov regularization parameter are suggested in the literature such as generalized cross validation and L-curve criterion. In this paper, self-regularization method that connects bias term of augmented linear system and smoothing term of Tikhonov regularization is introduced in the frequency domain and applied to the image restoration problems. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
A Study on the Application Cases Analysis of ESS(Energy Storage System) to Electric Power System

Because a progressive tax of home electricity rates is charged and a continuous rise of industrial electricity rates is expected in order to solve the global warming, the high oil prices and the serious power shortage problem, the efforts to apply the energy storage systems which can significantly improve the energy usage efficiency to the smart grid are trying newly. In this study, characteristics of the secondary battery which can be used as energy storage devices, the structure and operation principle of a lithium-ion battery, and the concept of energy storage systems are research and analyzed. In addition, in this paper, the base technologies which are required to apply to the energy storage system to electric power system are established by studying about installation location and application methodology of energy storage system to electric power system.
Development of the Intelligent Switchgear Prototype with Arc Fault Detection Capability

This paper aims at the prototype-making of the intelligent switchgear with arc fault diagnosis function required to prevent the electrical fire. The main control unit of the intelligent switchgear consists of a single-phase power management device and a arc fault diagnosis device. The prototype of the single-phase power management device and the prototype of the arc fault diagnosis device in this paper. In the device, the cooperation function with the arc fault diagnosis device is developed to transmit the cause of the electrical fire to the remote server system.
Development of 2KW Power Bidirectional LDC for Electrical Vehicle

In this paper, we developed a bidirectional LDC(Low DC-DC converter) for vehicle which is composed of a full bridge converter and a current doubler at the second side. The LDC is a converter that converts DC input from one side to DC output on the other side, and the converter which was developed in this thesis is capable of transferring power in both directions. It has been verified that the developed LDC has 90% efficiency at 1400W and approximately 85% efficiency at 2KW.

The Car License Plate Recognition(: CLPR) is required in searching the hit-and-run car, measuring the traffic density, investigating the traffic accidents as well as in pursuing vehicle crimes according to the increasing in number of vehicles. The captured images on the real environment of the CLPR is contaminated not only by snow and rain, illumination changes, but also by the geometrical distortion due to the pose changes between camera and car at the moment of image capturing. We propose homographic transformation and intensity histogram of vertical image projection so as to transform the distorted input to the original image and cluster the character and number, respectively. Especially, in this paper, the Multilayer Perceptron Algorithm(: MLP) in the CLPR is used to not only recognize the charcters and car license plate, but also determine the optimized ratio among the number of input, hidden and output layers by the real experimental result.
Comparison Analysis of Behavior between Differential Equation and Fractional Differential Equation in the Van der Pol Equation

Three hundred years ago, the fractional differential equation that is one of concept of fractional calculus released. Now, many researchers continue to try best effort applying into the control engineering, mathematics and physics. In this paper, the dynamics equation which is represented by Van der Pol, represent integer order and fractional order that having real order. Then this paper performs the comparisons between integer and real order as time series and phase portrait according to variation of parameter value for real order.
Analysis of Nonlinear Behavior in Fractional Van der Pol Equation with Periodic External Force

Van der Pol`s oscillators is non-conservative oscillator that having nonlinear damping phenomena. The energy of its system is dissipative at a high amplitude whereas its system creates the energy at low amplitude. In order to identify another behaviors in the Van der Pol oscillator, the periodic external force applied in the Van der Pol oscillator. This paper confirms the pattern of variation for the limit cycle according to parameter variation in order to identify another behaviors in the Van der Pol oscillator.

A study of business demands on job competency and curriculum for college graduates majoring the medical information

This study is to develop the curriculum for training students with practical business skills which medical business needs. We surveyed businesses which have employed graduates who majored in medical information. The survey was conducted into the expectation of business for graduates, their job competence and business needs for curriculum utilizing the self-reported questionnaire. We analyzed correlation, frequency and regression among job class, business types and job positions of those surveyed. The result shows that medical information businesses express high expectation in personality education rather than major knowledge and think that field practice is important in the college curriculum. We expects the study will contribute positively to improve the curriculum for raising the employment rate of college graduates.

Fastener is a very important component that is used in various areas in industry. Recently, various color fasteners are introduced. According to this, online inspection is required in this area. In this paper, an algorithm for the automatic extraction of the surface of color fastener using color information and dynamic programming is presented. The outer boundary of fastener is found using the difference of color that enables robust processing. The inner boundary of fastener is found by dynamic programming that uses the difference of brightness value within fixed area after converting image to polar coordinate. Experiments are done using the same parameters.
Automatic post address print out system based on QRcode or CVS

This study found that there are problems in sending mails at the postal service reception desks and proposes a system which transmits address information to POSNET(the terminals at post office reception) without the use of an additional security system based on address information which is stored in the terminals of mobile phones. The system proposed transforms the information of users into two-dimensional barcode(QR code) of the POSNET and a number of address information is texturized and transmitted to the POSNET with the use of how to read QR code and LAN such as bluetooth. When the system proposed is connected to the postal reception system, it can create and output mail addresses for mobile computers automatically and contribute to better performance for the post office reception clerks and better economic results.

In this paper, we studied on MAC(Media Access Control) protocol for UAVs application. According to the number of UAVs, ground control station should control properly increased UAVs. So, we applied CSMA/CA that used in current civil aircraft to UAV communications and verified the applicability through comparison of throughput and delays of data with various message sizes, In the results, we confirmed applicability for UAVs MAC protocol.
