Development of Contents on the Marine Meteorology Service by Meteorology and Climate Big Data

Currently, there is increasing demand for weather information, however, providing meteorology and climate information is limited. In order to improve them, supporting the meteorology and climate big data platform use and training the meteorology and climate big data specialist who meet the needs of government, public agencies and corporate, are required. Meteorology and climate big data requires high-value usable service in variety fields, and it should be provided personalized service of industry-specific type for the service extension and new content development. To provide personalized service, it is essential to build the collaboration ecosystem at the national level. Building the collaboration ecosystem environment, convergence of marine policy and climate policy, convergence of oceanography and meteorology and convergence of R&D basic research and applied research are required. Since then, demand analysis, production sharing information, unification are able to build the collaboration ecosystem.
Overview of sensor fusion techniques for vehicle positioning

This paper provides an overview of recent trends in sensor fusion technologies for vehicle positioning. The GNSS by itself cannot satisfy precision and reliability required by autonomous driving. We survey sensor fusion techniques that combine the outputs from the GNSS and the inertial navigation sensors such as an odometer and a gyroscope. Moreover, we overview landmark-based positioning that matches landmarks detected by a lidar or a stereo vision to high-precision digital maps.
Design of a Vehicle-Mounted GPS Antenna for Accurate Positioning

The capability of accurate positioning and tracking is necessary to implement an unmanned autonomous driving system. The moving-baseline GPS Technique is a promising candidate to mitigate positioning errors of conventional GPS system. It provides accurate positioning data based on the phase difference between received signals from multiple GPS antennas mounted on the same platform. In this paper, we propose a dual-band dual-circularly-polarized antenna suitable for the moving-baseline GPS. The proposed antenna operates at GPS L1 and L2 bands, and fed by the side of the antenna instead of the bottom. The antenna is firstly designed by calculating theoretical values of key parameters, and then optimized by means of 3D full-wave simulation software. Simulation and measurement results show that the optimized antenna offers 6.1% and 3.7% bandwidth at L1 and L2, respectively, with axial ratio bandwidth of more than 1%. The size of the antenna is

A Development of Fusion Processor Architecture for Efficient Main Memory Access in CPU-GPU Environment

The HSA resolves an old problem with existing CPU and GPU architectures by allowing both units to directly access each other`s memory pools via unified virtual memory. In a physically realized system, however, frequent data exchanges between CPU and GPU for a virtual memory block result bottlenecks and coherence request overheads. In this paper, we propose Fusion Processor Architecture for efficient access of main memory from both CPU and GPU. It consists of Job Manager, Re-mapper, and Pre-fetcher to control, organize, and distribute work loads and working areas for GPU cores. These components help on reducing memory exchanges between the two processors and improving overall efficiency by eliminating faulty page table requests. To verify proposed algorithm architectures, we develop an emulator based on QEMU, and compare several architectures such as CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture), OpenMP, OpenCL. As a result, Proposed fusion processor architectures show 198% faster than others by removing unnecessary memory copies and cache-miss overheads.
Design of Low Power Current Memory Circuit based on Voltage Scaling

A wireless communication system is required to be implemented with the low power circuits because it uses a battery having a limited energy. Therefore, the current mode circuit has been studied because it consumes constant power regardless of the frequency change. However, the clock-feedthrough problem is happened by leak of stored energy in memory operation. In this paper, we suggest the current memory circuit to minimize the clock-feedthrough problem and introduce a technique for ultra low power operation by inducing dynamic voltage scaling. Study on Improvement for selecting the optimum voice channels in the radio voice communication

An aircraft in flight and ATC(: Air Traffic Controllers) working in the Ground Control Center carry out a voice communication using the radio. Voice signal to be transmitted from the aircraft is received to a plurality of terrestrial sites around the country at the same time. The ATC receives the various quality of voice signal from the aircraft depending on the distance, speed, weather conditions and adjusted condition of the antenna and the radio. The ATC carries out a voice communication with aircraft in the optimal conditions finding the best voice signal. However, the present system chooses the values of the CD(: Carrier Dectect) which is determined to be superior to, based on the input voice level, as optimal channel. Thus this system can not be seen to select the optimal channel because it doesn`t consider the effect of the noise which influences on the communication quality. In this paper, after removing the noise in the voice signal, we could give the digitized information and an improved voice signal quality, so that users can select an optimal channel. By using it, when operating the training eavesdropping system or the aircraft control, we can expect prevention accident and improvement of training performance by selecting the improved quality channel.
Developement of Electrical Load Testing System Implemented with Power Regenerative Function

The electrical load testing system developed from this study was designed to control rated-capacity-testing or variable-load-testing in an active and precise manner and save electric energy during testing, and also to convert the saved electric energy through the electrical load testing system to grid line. As for the device under testing, it was designed to be applied to not only transformer, rectifier, voltage regulator, inverter which require grid voltage source but, also applied to electric power, aerogenerator, photovoltaic, hybrid generator, battery, etc. which do not require grid voltage source. The system was designed to return the power consumed during the testing to the grid line by connecting the synchronizing pwm inverter circuit to the grid voltage source, and was also made to enable the being-tested system from disuse of approximately 93.4% energy when compared to the conventional load testing system which has used the passive resistor.
Analysis of Rotational Motion of Skid Steering Mobile Robot using Marker and Camera

This paper deals with analysis of the characteristics of mobile robot`s motion by automatic detection of markers on a robot using a camera. Analysis of motion behaviors according to parameters is important in developing control algorithm for robot operation or autonomous navigation. For this purpose, we use four chessboard patterns on the robot. Their location on the robot is adjusted to be on single plane. Homography is used to compute the actual amount of movement of the robot. Presented method is tested using P3-AT robot and it gives reliable results.

Van der Pol`s oscillators is non-conservative oscillator that having nonlinear damping phenomena. The energy of its system is dissipative at a high amplitude whereas its system creates the energy at low amplitude. This paper deals with the Van der Pol oscillator model with a fractional order when the external force apply into Van der Pol oscillator. This paper confirms the status of variation for the limit cycle according to the parameter variation of fractional order in the Van der Pol oscillator that can be represented by fractional differential equation.
A Novel Way of Safety Awareness on the Walking with Single Sensor

This study suggests a novel way of safety cognition with single sensor. It is beneficial to make the most of the 3-axis acceleration sensor for context inference. It has remarkable advantages that size is too small and less malfunction or error. This study shows the calculation of the common life safety through the events data from the 3-axis acceleration sensor only. That includes the analyzation of the volume of energy and converting quantitative numerical value.
A Fault Detection Scheme in Acoustic Sensor Systems Using Multiple Acoustic Sensors

This paper presents a fault detection and data processing algorithm for acoustic sensor systems using the multiple sensor algorithm that has originally developed for the wireless sensor nodes. The multiple sensor algorithm can increase the reliability of the sensor systems by utilizing and comparing the measurements of the multiple sensors. In the acoustic sensor system, the equivalent sound level(
) is used to detect the faulty sensor. The experiment was conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the multiple acoustic sensor algorithm, and the results show that the algorithm can detect the faulty sensor and validate the data.
Smart Attendance Checking System based on BLE using a Beacon

In an environment of IoT services, sensors to track things and human activities are included as an essential element and smart phone is actively used as a means of collecting and processing information from sensors. Especially, wireless communication and NFC provided by the smart phone are key technologies for exchanging information between participants of IoT service. In this paper, we propose and implement the smart attendance checking system based on BLE using a beacon for improving the quality of a university lecture by processing attendance information automatically. Proposed system uses the beacon sensor for being aware of attendance information and the smart phone for receiving and processing this information. The implemented system has the benefit to improve the lecture quality because a professor can minimize attendance checking time and spend a lot of time on the lecture.
A Way of Unusual Gait Cognition for Life Safety

Research on gait recognition and its use is actively underway. This study suggests a method to recognize abnormal gaits of pedestrians. The purposes of the existing research to recognize normal steps are to measure physical activities and to validate people by their walks, but the purpose to recognize abnormal steps in this study is to insure the safe life of pedestrians. There are situations in which pedestrians are unaware of themselves vulnerable and can not ask for help. The purpose of this research is that even if pedestrians are unaware of themselves and there are no spontaneous requests for helps, it is intended for them to escape from dangers and difficulties by adopting the recent IOT technology. Hence, this study analyzes normal pace of pedestrians using the triaxial acceleration sensors, and takes ranges of their normal walking. And then, the steps of pedestrians are measured using the triaxial acceleration sensors, contrasted with their normal walking ranges, and determine whether their steps are normal or not. When it is out of the state for normal paces, a method to determine as abnormal paces is suggested.

People try to maintain optimal sleep activity to a changing attitude 20-30 times while sleeping 7-8 hours a day. In order to provide optimal sleep, we need to develop sensing device for apply effective various sleep data acquired through display device that can provide program and information which process and analyze information printed out from sensor and sensing system. In this paper, we analyze sleep pattern to detect the toss and turn while a person`s sleeping and we develop a wellness pillow that can be active on sleep health management based on the analyzed data for sleep patterns.
The Effect Relationship between SNS Tourism Information Service Quality and Information Sharing Intention

The objectives of this study are to suggest useful directions for promotion of SNS tourism information service to the service providers through investigating the effect relationship between SNS tourism information service quality and the information sharing intention. To achieve the objectives, as a conceptual framework of the study, the literature on SNS tourism information service quality and information sharing intention were reviewed, and the empirical studies on the perception of the service users about the services was conducted. The findings showed that the `easy acquisition` and `interactivity` factors of SNS tourism information service quality have an effect on the information sharing intention. Accordingly, the service providers are required to enhance the service quality related to the information acquisition and interaction between users.

There are two destinations to aware the risk of common life. Recognition of the condition of pedestrian`s own and the environmental factor awareness both are beneficial for risk awareness. It is good way of advancing the crime prevention effectivity that including IoT technology at the crime prevention research. The purpose of this research is that advanced way of crime prevention with multi-sensor data fusion of the condition of pedestrian and environmental factors. The 3-axis acceleration sensor is available to recognize the gait and the illumination sensor also useful to infer the road state. This research suggest a novel way of assess these factors and the result is the degree of danger.
