A Study on the Administrative Spatial Informatization and Ubiquitous Smart City : Focus on Busan Centum City

In recent years, our society, because of the arrival of a new paradigm according to the rapid changes in ICT has entered into future smart society and the ubiquitous era. So it can be a notable turning point in the city and administrative spatial informatization, aspects of the era change. Therefore, this study was to derive a desirable vision for the city of Busan Centum City Informatization in the dream of leading global smart city of Busan by applying 'scenario planning' as a foresight method. Soon this study derived a successful local informatization strategy for Centum City in Busan. It proposed the use of the administrative aspects of information with spatial informatization as metadata information. Also this study explored the future leadership strategy of Busan Centum City in smart society. Eventually in 2030 to around, In order to still remain Busan Centum City as a leading ICT smart city, this study suggested the following strategy. It is important to increase the satisfaction of citizen services through the use of the administrative aspects of information with spatial informatization as metadata information for urban information system.
Estimation Technique of Time Difference of Acoustic Signal by phase delay in Underwater Environments

Recently, UWAC(: UnderWater Acoustic Communication) has been studied by many scholars and researchers. There are several method to estimate the time-difference between the two signals such estimating as the arrival time of the first non-background segment in both signals and calculate the temporal difference, calculating the cross-correlation between the two signal to infer the time-lagged, and estimating the phase delay to infer the time difference. In this paper, we present estimating method by the phase delay to infer the time difference in two signals.
Trends of LTE based Railway Communication Systems

Since the KTX starts operation in 2004, Korean railway system has sustained the highest safety and accuracy. In order to keep this achievement, the LTE based wireless communication system has been introduced for mobile communications and signal transmission. railway, and activities for its standardization are on the way. Railway communication system will be used as part of national safety net through interworking with safety network. This paper reviews the contents of standards and technologies in an LTE-based railway communication(LTE-R) system, and the items to be standardized to improve operational efficiency of the railway system by building a national railway radio communication system.
The Operation Conditions of Domestic Railway Wireless Communication Network and Those Technical Trends

As well as to operate a high-speed rail, our country with capability to produce high-speed train has developed a number of techniques, such as for a riding comfort improvement, automatic diagnosis for major electrical or mechanical parts, on board measurement for catenary systems and noise reduction of running rolling-stocks are still under development. In this paper, we describe the current status of operation technologies not only traditional railway wireless communication systems but also Long Term Evolution systems which would be deployed as soon as possible, like as in Europe, China and the United States. In addition, we produced the domestic wireless communication networks for railway which KORAIL Corp. has been operating and the schemes and the plans of HSR field test for the fourth generation mobile communication which should be enforced by national research and development.
Development of quality monitoring system using thickness gauge, width gauge, themometer for a rolling operation in hot rolling mill plant

Today, hot rolled mill plant are currently operating 24 hours a day. The main processes of hot-rolled steel mill are Reheating Furnace, Roughing Mill, Fishing Mill and the Down Coiler. In the process checking over the thickness and width of rolled material, temperature control is an important factor. It is quite often the cause of the work breakdown and find a bad elements for product. After the shipping out the product, when a claim occurs requires an investigation. In each process of the conventional thickness gauge, width, and thermometer. Operation by an independent data acquisition and this monitoring is problematic and straining of the operator. The monitoring process the data of each function and incorporate monitoring results can also check future work. The installation of this system will improve our efficiency and productivity. In the rolling process by developing more efficient operating quality monitoring system, this will be made possible.
A Study on Stable Operation of Li-ion Battery Charging/Discharging System

When the operation of battery is converted at charging and discharging system based on a DC micro grid, the voltage is fluctuated. And excessive voltage fluctuation could cause damage or failure of charging and discharging equipment. Therefore, in this paper, we studied the operating schedule of the charging and discharging system based on the DC micro grid and a design point of the capacitor which was able to reduce the voltage fluctuation. A result of computer simulation showed that when a fluctuation-reducing capacitor which had an initial value of 600V/35mF was applied at the charging and discharging system based on a DC micro grid which was operated with three charging battery sets and five discharging battery sets, voltage fluctuation by charging and discharging operation was reduced by about 63.3%. Furthermore, voltage fluctuation which occurred when initial network voltage was stabilized was reduced by about 73%.
Development of Sound Frequency Analyser using an Ultra-Low Power MCU

Materials made of metals have their own manifest resonant frequencies. Using this property, the quality test of products from the factory can be performed. An impact is applied to the product and the frequencies of the sound and/or vibration are measured using high-end equipments. They use a general purpose computer or a DSP(: Digital Signal Processor)-based stand-alone system which is usually too large in-size to carry and expensive to build. In this paper, we introduce a system that is developed based on a MSP430 MCU(:Micro-Controller Unit) from TI(: Texas Instruments). The ultra-low power MSP430 MCUs make it possible to make a frequency analyzer in a very small size without the need of using a large-size battery. The proposed system can be used in situations where the frequency analyzer should be carried easily with an investigator and should be built at low cost sacrificing some accuracy. We implemented the system using a launchpad supplied by TI and could confirm that the proposed system could identify with a high-accuracy the frequencies of various artificial and natural sounds.
A Novel of Solar Heat Collection Device Prototype using Parabolic based on Solar Light Tracking

Efforts have continued in recent years to research and develop new alternative energy sources to replace coal and oil. These days interest is exploding in new pollution-free renewable energy due to the rising prices of finite energy sources. In the field of solar energy, one of new renewable energy that has been actively researched and commercialized, research efforts have been focused on solar light energy, whose efficiency has, however, reached a saturation point already. Thus, this paper proposed a solar tracking-type parabolic heat collection device to utilize solar thermal energy rather than solar light energy. The proposed device was designed in a parabolic form to collect solar heat effectively. The investigator made its prototype by incorporating a five-axis censor-based solar tracking technology in it to sense changes to the location of the sun according to the seasons and periods. In addition, an administrator interface was designed and implemented for the efficient management of heat collection device.
Studies on Effective Fluid Monitoring Terminal design with the Use of location-based service

Fluid is normally used so that certain drug can be administered to patients for certain period of time. There are many incidents in which patients or guardians need to call upon medical staff after estimating the time of fluid injection termination. In case fluid injection is terminated during certain period such as sleeping time or others, it may cause more fatigue for either patients or guardians. Also, it may lead to ineffective work as medical staff needs to monitor the quantity of fluid several times in order to check the time of fluid injection termination. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose LBS system combined of minimum equipment and active RFID to monitor the level of fluid in order to solve abovementioned problems. Also, it is expected to enhance the quality of medical service with service in which real-time monitoring of fluid quantity and patient location is conducted to provide accurate information to either patients, guardians, or medical staff(nurse) so that medical staff can locate and see patients at the time of fluid injection termination.
Implementation of Numerical Information System based on Mnemonic System in Mobile Environments

The mnemonic-system in numbers is useful to remember numbers. In this mnemonic-system, the graph or image to apply many ways such as dot, line, bar, and etc is a rather neat mnemonic. Mnemonics related to numbers are concerned chiefly with translating information into a method that the brain can retain better than its original form. In Tracing the previous work of this paper, we suggested a simple graph algorithm and arranged image algorithm for the mnemonic-system in numbers. In this paper, we evaluate and implement the numerical information system based on the mnemonic system to apply previous algorithm in mobile environments.
Learning System for Big Data Analysis based on the Raspberry Pi Board

In order to construct a system for big data processing, one needs to configure the node by using network equipments to connect multiple computers or establish cloud environments through virtual hosts on a single computer. However, there are many restrictions on constructing the big data analysis system including complex system configuration and cost. These constraints are becoming a major obstacle to professional manpower training for big data areas which is emerging as one of the most important national competitiveness. As a result, for professional manpower training of big data areas, this paper proposes a Raspberry Pi Board based educational big data processing system which is capable of practical training at an affordable price.
