Submarine cable system has been affected by humankind activities like trawl and stow net which has been threatening submarine cable in Korea. This research presents the protection ways of submarine cable through the analyses of cable faults on EAC system for 8 years.
Discrete Ray Tracing Techniques for Wave Propagation Characteristic of Random Rough Surfaces

In this paper, we have proposed discrete ray tracing method (DRTM) for numerical analysis of characteristics of electromagnetic propagation along 2D random rough surfaces. The point of the present method is to discretize not only rough surface but also ray tracing. The former helps saving computer memories and the latter does simplifying ray searching algorithm resulting in saving computation time. Numerical calculations are carried out for 2D random rough surfaces, and electric field distributions are shown to check the effectiveness of the proposed DRTM.

In this paper, we study the adjacency matrix of a minimal connected quadrangular graph G, and then we obtain an upper bound on |E(G)| for such a graph G, and we obtain the graph for which the upper bound is attained. In addition, we obtain an upper bound on |E(G)| for a critical matching covered quadrangular graph G.
Power Line Extraction based on thermal Image

In this paper, an efficient extraction technique of power lines is proposed. Power line extraction technique is used to operate unmanned autonomous vehicles. To achieve the extraction of power lines, an angle space segmentation and grouping method of Hough transform are developed. In simulation results for the proposed algorithm, our algorithm shows a good detection results in experiments for several aerial images which contain different line components.
The effect of leading tone and following tone with single frequency on sound lateralization

In this study, the effects leading and following tone with single frequency on sound lateralization were investigated. The tone with level difference and ISI(Inter Stimuli Interval) were used. The width of test tone was 2ms, leading tone and following tone were 10ms and 1kHz was used. The arrived time difference of subject's ears 0.5ms. We set four levels on each ISI and let them decide whether they hear the provided sound from left or right. As a result, it knew the fact that leading tone had more effect on sound lateralization than following tone.
A study on motion prediction and subband coding of moving pictuers using GRNN

In this paper, a new nonlinear predictor using general regression neural network(GRNN) is proposed for the subband coding of moving pictures. The performance of a proposed nonlinear predictor is compared with BMA(Block Match Algorithm), the most conventional motion estimation technique. As a result, the nonlinear predictor using GRNN can predict well more 2-3dB than BMA. Specially, because of having a clustering process and smoothing noise signals, this predictor well preserves edges in frames after predicting the subband signal. This result is important with respect of human visual system and is excellent performance for the subband coding of moving pictures.
A Compensation for Distortion of Stereo-scopic Camera Image Using Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

In this paper, this study restores the distorted image to its original image by compensating for the distortion of image from a fixed-focus camera lens. The various developments and applications of the imaging devices and the image sensors used in a wide range of industries and expanded use, but due to the needs of the small size and light weight of the camera, the distortion from acquiring images of the distorted curvature of the lens tends to affect many. In particular, the three-dimensional imaging camera, each different distortion of left and right lens cause the degradation of three-dimensional sensitivity and left-right image distortion ratio. we approached the way of generalizing the approximate equations to restore each part of left-right camera images to the coordinators of the original images. The adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System is configured for it. This system is divided from each membership function and is inferred by 1st order Sugeno Fuzzy model. The result is that the compensated images close to the left, right original images. Using low-cost and compact imaging lens by which also determine the exact three-dimensional image-sensing capabilities and will be able to expect from this study.
A Software for Subscriber-Oriented IPTV Service Quality Measurement

Recently IPTV service is becoming an emerging service representing IP convergence that is enabled on the broadband networks. It is an essential and very important issue to manage the service quality of IPTV service effectively for its successful deployment because of the innate nature of current Internet that cannot support quality of service (QoS). In particular, it is required that subscriber can measure and judge the service quality of IPTV service directly, which is impossible with the current method usually depending on a measurement equipment. In this paper, therefore, we introduce an implementation of a software that is installed at a set-top on the subscriber side and measures the quality of IPTV service in real time. In order to verify the performance of the implemented software, we perform a number of tests and compare the result with the measurement equipments in common use. By the comparison, it is shown that the measurement by the implemented software is precise and reliable.
VoIP Performance Improvement with Packet Aggregation over MANETs

In this paper, VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) transmission performance for MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Networks) is improved and analyzed with packet aggregation scheme which is aggregating some of short length packets to one large packet and sending to networks. VoIP simulator based on NS(Network Simulator)-2 is implemented and used to measure performance of VoIP traffic transmission. In this simulation, VoIP traffics are generated with parameters of some codes such as G.711, G.729A, GSM.AMR and iBLC. MOS(Mean Opinion Score), end-to-end network delay, packet loss rate and transmission bandwidth are measured. Performance improvements of 98% for MOS, 6.4times for end-to-end network delay, 32times for packet loss rate is shown as simulation results. On the other hand, transmission bandwidth is increased about maximum 10%. Finally, VoIP implementation guide for the performance with packet aggregation is suggested.

This research is about the studies of ocean wave and realization of ocean wave surface utilizing the Matlab as development tool. In this paper, the related background theory about ocean wave and sea-surface wave had been discussed. In addition, the three-dimensional and two-dimensional sea wave and sea-surface also been realized and simulated by using Matlab.
Implement of a Bookshelf Management System using powerline communication and RF-ID

In these information-communication society, the wireless system technologies are increasing to do all things with wireless solution for fast and convenient works. This trend drives ubiquitous solutions which are based on broadband wireless network that gives network connection whenever, everywhere. This paper deals a bookshelf management system using plower line communication and RFID module. This system includes a 900 MHz RFID reader, Passive RFID-Tags, an Atmeg128 microprocessor board attached LED Display Module, and a management PC with GUI Software. This system works well in power line communication, tag reading and LED display, and PC Management Software.
Ideal Model for Radio communication system against Disasters

Radiocommunication systems is very useful method to configure the unified command communication system in case of the disasters. Currently Korea's radiocommunication network against the disasters is operating with TETRA system. This system is very powerful with multifunction to apply in the disaster situation. However, Korea's disaster radiocommunication system is so important to keep and maintain survivability. Therefore this paper study on the alternate systems to TETRA system.
A Car License Plate Recognition Using Colors Information, Morphological Characteristic and Neural Network

In this paper, we propose a new method of recognizing the vehicle license plate using color space, morphological characteristics and ART2 algorithm. Morphological characteristics of old and/or new style vehicle license plate among the candidate regions are applied to remove noise areas using 8-directional contour tracking algorithm, then follow by the extraction of vehicle plate. From the extracted license plate area, plate morphological characteristics of each region are removed. After that, labeling algorithm to extract the individual characters are then combined. The classified individual character and numeric codes are applied to the ART2 algorithm for the learning and recognition. In order to evaluate the performance of our proposed extraction and recognition of vehicle license method, we have run experiments on 100 green plates and white plates. Experimental results shown that the proposed license plate extraction and recognition method was effective.
An Intelligent Video Image Segmentation System using Watershed Algorithm

In this paper, an intelligent security camera over internet is proposed. Among ISC methods, watersheds based methods produce a good performance in segmentation accuracy. But traditional watershed transform has been suffered from over-segmentation due to small local minima included in gradient image that is input to the watershed transform. And a zone face candidates of detection using skin-color model. last step, face to check at face of candidate location using SVM method. It is extract of wavelet transform coefficient to the zone face candidated. Therefore, it is likely that it is applicable to read world problem, such as object tracking, surveillance, and human computer interface application etc.
Multiple Attractor CA Based Pattern Classifier

Classifying multi-class pattern plays an important role in grouping of records in database systems, detection of faults in the VLSI circuits and so on. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the construction of multi-class pattern classifier with minimum memory capacity using MACA(Multiple Attractor Cellular Automata) and the subspace concept for given multi-class patterns.
Detection of Flaws in Ceramic Materials Using Non-Destructive Testing

A method that can decide the existence and the severeness of flaws in ceramic materials through the use of non-destructive testing by image processing techniques, is proposed in this paper. The edges of the acquired image are first extracted using Sobel mask and the regions of the image are clustered using another mask after that. Histogram stretching is applied to each of the regions to enhance the image region-wise and objects are extracted by an edge following algorithm. Morphological information is incorporated to remove noise and detect flawed regions. The proposed method can detect flaws in the acquired images and the experimental results also supports that.
Sharing Criteria between Satellite network and Earth Station in Ka-and

The 21.4-22.0GHz frequency band is used to broadcast satellite services in Region 1 and Region 3 in frequency distribution area. The use of this frequency band is according to the provision of the resolution 525 of WRC-03, this frequency band broadcasting service system transmits broadband radio-frequency signals. The trend of the Satellite launching plans for an using this frequency band is growing in worldwide. This frequency band requires fairly more transmit power than the Ku-band because of the rain attenuation of this frequency band is very extreme. An appropriable sharing criteria is required for this broadcast service to be operational.
Implementation of Zigbee/PLC Gateway System for U-Health Care

In this paper, Zigbee/PLC gateway system is designed for Ubiquitous health care. A protocol conversion algorithm for smooth information exchange between Zigbee and PLC communication has been implemented on the gatway. If a moving object is detected by wireless sensor, the data is transmitted to gateway. Zigbee/PLC gateway analyzes received data and transmits to Power Line Communication for real-time monitoring. Implemented system is can support elder who lives alone activity analysis, crime prevention system, Home network service.
The implement of energy saving illuminator with a function of crime and fire prevention

In this paper, the energy saving illuminator with a function of crime and fire prevention is developed. This illuminator is communicated with a superintendent's office by wireless communication and the informations being archived by the illuminator are transmitted to a superintendent's office. If this illuminator is established with only one in a lecture room or a office room, a wireless network with saving a energy and preventing crimes and fires can be constructed.
