An implementation of 60W X-band Cascade SSPA for Marine Radar System

In this paper, An X-band solid state power amplifier(SSPA) for pulse compressed microwave signal with 60Watt power and power added efficiency(PAE) above 30% is described. Designed 60Watt high power amplifier(HPA) was implemented by cascade coupled amplifiers, and it is consisted on three stage drive amplifiers with internally matched GaAs FET and one stage main power amplifier with an internally matched GaN HEMT. The designed SSPA has performance with more than total power gain 37dB and output power 48dBm(60-W) in condition of frequency range
, pulse period width under 1ms and duty cycle under 10%. The implemented SSPA can apply to high quality digital marine radar applications with pulse compression technique.
Design and Fabrication of Diplexer using Lumped Elements

In this study, the diplexer used a separator or a combine of signals was designed and its characteristics were investigated. The diplexer consists of two fixed tuned bandpass filter such as low pass filter(LPF) and high pass filter(HPF) sharing a common part and was simulated. The diplexer with micro-strip structure was fabricated. The LPF of diplexer has insertion loss of -0.4 dB, return loss of -30 dB and 1.6 GHz cut-off frequency and HPF has insertion loss of -0.8 dB, return loss of -30 dB and 1.9 GHz cut-off frequency, respectively.
Design Considerations of K-band Front-End Module for Dynamic Range

In this paper, we designed and analysed K-band front-end module for digital microwave communication system receiver which improvement of dynamic range. We also suggested method of minimum amplified input signal level used to minimize noise figure of low-noise amplifier for High dynamic range. The designed modules consist of active mixer with conversions gain and PL-DRO with high stability and quality factor. The designed modules performance is that has the characteristics of over 54dB conversion gain, 1.3dB noise figure.
A Real-time Video Transferring and Localization System in HSDPA Network

This paper presents a real-time image transferring and localization system utilizing HSDPA, a commercial wireless network system. A novel image compression algorithm is developed based on MPEG4 to comply with uploading bandwidth of 130 kbps and QVGA image transmission of 30 fps. Aiming at being embedded in moving vehicles, the proposed system has a small size, low power consumption, and robustness to disturbances. We validate the performance of the system by presenting captured images of transferring video and localization data. Our system can be applied to real-time surround monitoring in moving vehicles or real-time ecology observation in remote places.

Performance analysis of Variable Rate Multi-carrier CDMA under an underwater acoustic channel

As underwater channel is very complex and time-varying, don't supports good-quality for communication service. In this paper, a multi-carrier CDMA(MC-CDMA) system for the reliability and robust service in the underwater acoustic channel is proposed and analyzed for its performance. Applied variable rate algorithm to the proposed system gets a channel state information from relationship between SINR and user data-rate. Using channel state information make spectrum usage more efficient and overall system performance improved. In this paper, the performance of proposed system analyzed by simulation. And Pseudo-Random spread codes used in the system are discussed.
Comparison between 8PSK-TCM and QPSK of BER

In this paper, we studied a high speed Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM) system and 8PSK-TCM system, and compare 8PSK-TCM system with QPSK system of BER. We know that 8PSK-TCM had 3 db improvement of BER than QPSK. And we demonstrated the superiority of 8PSK-TCM by simulating with Matlab. Input signal was 2 bits long, and 8PSK-TCM used 3bits long. Results of this simulation said that 8PSK-TCM had 3 db improvement of BER than QPSK.
Analysis on the Effectiveness of Algorithm Visualization System for Structured Programming Language Education

Programming is an area that many students have difficulty on because it requires various skills, such as problem analysis, logical thinking, and procedural problem-solving skills. In this paper, a system visualizing algorithm was used to set up algorithmic concepts easily and effectiveness of the system was analyzed through scholastic achievement test and survey after learning through this process. For evaluation, we divided students who take courses on programming language and algorithm in 3 universities into 2 groups with 6 teams in each group. The group that trained this system visualizing algorithm had scored 17.4 points higher in terms of scholastic achievement than the group that did not train such method. Moreover, according to the survey, the group had higher scores in terms of interest level, concentration level, comprehension, effectiveness, and convenience.
An Improved Algorithm of Distributed QoS in Real-time Networks

In this paper, an improved algorithm of distributed QoS is proposed for real-time networks. This algorithm like a delay-constrained unicast routing(DCUR) algorithm uses either least-cost(LC) path or least-delay(LD) path of an active node, but when there is a loop, this algorithm is quite different from DCUR in choosing the link between the active node and the previous node to replace the original loop path. And this algorithm makes the construction of the paths more efficiently.

Spreading sequence is used for spreading spectrum in CDMA. For the purpose of minimizing multiple access interference and expanding linear span of the sequences, it is desirable to use such sequences with low correlation and high linear span. To obtain large family size and high linear span, the values of the correlation function of the sequences is more complex. In this paper, we propose the extended Zeng sequences with large family size and high linear span and analyze the correlation of the sequences.
An Architecture of the Fast Parallel Multiplier over Finite Fields using AOP

MPPT and Yawing Control of a New Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbine with Two Parallel-Connected Generators

Commonly used horizontal-axis wind turbines (HAWT) have the following structure: two or three blades, a nacelle which contains power converting equipments, generators, and a tower which supports the nacelle. The generated power is transmitted from the nacelle to the ground. Due to this structure, the power transmission lines are twisted when the nacelle is yawing. Thus, slip ring or additional yaw control mechanism is required. We propose a new structure of HAWT which is free of this transmission line problem. Moreover, the size of inverter can be reduced since two generators are connected in parallel in our mechanism so that power is distributed. A controller for yawing is developed so that it works in harmony with the controller for power generation. A MPPT (Maximum Power Point tracking) algorithm is implemented for the proposed system and efficiency of the system is validated by simulation.
Synchronization Method of Coupling Coefficient of Linear and Nonlinear in SC-CNN(State-Controlled Cellular Neural Network)

Recently, the research of security and its related problems has been received great interested. The research for hper-chaos systems and its synchronization are actively processing as one of method to apply to secure and cryptography communication. In this paper, we propose the synchronization method by coupling coefficient of linear and nonlinear in order to accomplish the synchronization of hyper-chaos system that organized by SC-CNN(State-Controlled Cellular Neural Network). We also verify and confirm the result of synchronization between entire transmitter and receiver, and each subsystem in transmitter and receiver through the phase portrait and difference of time-series by the computer simulation.

A study on control of generators based on SMPS

This study incorporates welders and generators needed to use it and welder generators to be used as is to configure the system. Thus in order to propose an integrated system to prevent the rapid charging process to manage the power state information, system configuration is the most important. Therefore, the battery charging output port, the main input and output control ports, the generator control port, a warning alarm buzzer, UI switch input, EXT power output, check the battery status input, battery charge and discharge current, UI input control switch, generator status, the main power input and output, the output voltage, EXT warning output, DEBUG communication, UI display unit, an external input ADC units with a focus on generator control system was implemented.
A Design of ALT LDPC Codes Using Circulant Permutation Matrices

In this paper, we propose a simple H parity check matrix from the CPM(circulant permutation matrix), which can easily avoid the cycle-4, and approach to flexible code rates and lengths. As a result, the operations of the submatrices will become the multiplications between several CPMs, the calculations of the LDPC(low density parity check) encoding could be simplest. Also we consider the fast encoding problem for LDPC codes. The proposed constructions could lead to fast encoding based on the simplest matrices operations for both regular and irregular LDPC codes.

Limit Analysis of the Distance between DU and RU in 4G FDD Mobile Communication Systems

A majority of 4G Mobile communication manufacturers have launched separated-type base stations composed of DU (digital unit) and RU (ratio unit). DUs are usually installed in the central office, while RUs with antennas are installed on the top of building or pole. Therefore, the allowable distance between DU and RU is very important for cell planning. In this paper, we analyze the allowable distance between DU and RU induced by closed-loop MIMO (mulitple input multiple output) technology in 4G FDD (frequency division duplexing) mobile communication systems. In conclusion, the distance limit between DU and RU is dependent on the frequency of the wireless communication, and the allowable distance is about 11 km when assuming the operating frequency is 2 GHz.

This paper suggests the data transmission technology for applying to the actual railway line based on the technological trends and theories for the wireless Mesh techniques. This paper presents a technical basis that is applicable to the economic and efficient use of frequency and to the development of a Communication Based Train Control System by demonstrating its Applicability, Availability, Reliability and Safety for the train control system of the radio frequency of the bandwidth of 5.7 GHz at the experiments.

A Study on the Land Price Characteristicsin Urban Railway Station's Surrounding Zones of Gwangju City, Korea

This study shows that access to urban railway station affects the development of railway station's surrounding zone (RSSZ). For instance, the value of the property in RSSZ is likely to rise on the basis of the before and after the opening of a urban railway. Urban railway system is believed as an important solution to resolve worsening transport problems in metropolitan city. Also, the opening of a urban railway line is expected to affect the change of urban spatial structure, and to have more influence on land price of RSSZ.

Comparison of Collision Avoidance Algorithm for a Mobile Robot using a Simulation

This paper compares two collision avoidance algorithms using a simulator. The collision avoidance is vital for autonomous navigation of a mobile robot. Artificial potential field method and elastic force method are major approaches for the collision avoidance. The two algorithms are compared in the respect of the time for motion completion and the length of the motion path. The simulator is developed based on IPC(Inter Process Communication) and a differential drive mobile robot is used for the comparison.

Environmental information monitoring system with a control system and a sensor node transfers real-time collected data from sensor node to the remote control system. Operability of the control system can significantly decrease depending on its operating environment, type of sensor and the number of sensor installed on the sensor node and the communication environment between the control system and sensor node. In this study, we proposed and implemented component-based environmental information monitoring system using the appropriate components depending on operating environment in order to increase operational efficiency.
A Study on Methodology for Standardized Platform Design to Build Network Security Infrastructure

Network security infrastructure is constantly developing based on the combination and blending of various types of devices. From the form of distributed control, the phased defense policy such as fire walls, virtual private communication network, invasion prevention system, invasion detection system, corporate security management, and TSM (Telebiometrics System Mechanism), now it consolidates security devices and solutions to be developed to the step of concentration and artificial intelligence. Therefore, this article suggests network security infrastructure design types concentrating security devices and solutions as platform types and provides network security infrastructure design selecting methodology, the foundational data to standardize platform design according to each situation so as to propose methodology that can realize and build the design which is readily applied and realized in the field and also can minimize the problems by controlling the interferences from invasion.
