A Fire Computer Simulation of Inner Space with Fire Shutters and Refuge Stairs

This paper analyzes the relation between fire shutters and fire spread by conducting fire simulation on inner space with fire shutters. Using Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), a commercial fire simulation software, the simulation is done on an ideal inner robby, where fire size and the open/close of fire shutters are varied. Our simulation environment can derive significant fire parameters such as temperature variation of fire room walls and entrances of refuge stairs, variation of carbon dioxide, and soot spread. According to the simulation results, temperature and carbon dioxide distribution in refuge stairs have little dependence on vent open or close, but the part close of fire shutters blocks soot inflow to refuge stairs.
Overview of Region-oriented Technologies through R&D Topographical Landscape

R&D productivity(P) and qualification(Q) for 16 regions in Korea were measured using all scientific output (articles) from several kinds of specific R&D program under the 3rd regional science and technology promotion policy(2008-2012). R&D capabilities of 16 regions were evaluated from Q-P position analysis and also compared between these regions for the purpose of examining their R&D capability status. Especially, R&D topographical map was created using the output of research and development over 5 years for investigating GyeongNam district's activities in science and technology and also analyzing co-relationship between basic research areas (or fields) and specialized strategic industrial sectors of GyeongNam district. As results of this study, 20 future-oriented research fields were suggested from this topographical map, which reflected internal R&D potentials and industrial infrastructure of GyeongNam district.
Extraction and Analysis of Dual Gate FET Noise Parameter for High Frequency Modeling

In this paper, noise parameters for high frequency modeling of dual-gate FET are extracted and analyzed. To extract thermal noise parameter of dual gate, noise characteristics are measured by changing input impedance of noise source using Tuner, and the influence of pad parasitic elements are subtracted using open and short dummy structure. Measured results indicated that the dual-gate FET is improved the noise figure by 0.2dB compared with conventional cascode structure FET at 5GHz, and it confirmed that the noise figure has dropped due to reduction of capacitances between the drain and source, gate and drain by simulation and analysis of small-signal parameters.
Voltage regulator for baseband channel selection filters

Control voltage for baseband channel selection filter to select one of communication channels can be easily fluctuated according to external noise or variation of fabrication. In this paper, we design a voltage regulator with small chip area to keep control voltage constantly using current comparative method. Cut-off frequency of channel selection filter is automatically controlled by detecting current flow using the proposed voltage regulator.
A Study for Video-based Vehicle Surveillance on Outdoor Road

Detection performance of the vehicle on the road depends on weather conditions, the shadow by the movement of the sun, or illumination changes, etc. In this paper, a vehicle detection system in conjunction with a robust background estimate algorithm to environment change on the road in daytime is proposed. Gaussian Mixture Model is applied as background estimation algorithm, and also, Adaboost algorithm is applied to detect the vehicle for candidate region. Through the experiments with input videos obtained from a various weather conditions at the same actual road, the proposed algorithm were useful to detect vehicles in the road.

Recently, it becomes essential to forecast the future and identify emerging technologies in order to improve R&D efficiency and gain a competitive advantage under rapidly changing environment of science and technology. Therefore this research aims to identify the future and emerging technologies especially for the industry and applied it to list top ten emerging technologies. In this study, we identify research fronts across all areas of science and technology through verifying and comparing the 2008 and the 2012 surge in research activities. Finally we detect rapidly increasing 10 promising technology areas. This research results are expected to provide valuable information to support stragegic and policy decision making.
GA Based Locomotion Method for Quadruped Robot with Waist Joint to Walk on the Slop

In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm(GA) based locomotion method of a quadruped robot with waist joint, which makes a quadruped robot walk on the slop efficiently. In the proposed method, we first derive the kinematic model of a quadruped robot with waist joint and then set the gene and the fitness function for GA. In addition, we determine the best attitude for a quadruped robot and the landing point of a foot in the walk space, which has the optimal energy stability margin(ESM). Finally, we verify the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing with the performance of the previous method through the computer simulations.

Recently, the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor as low noise, high speed and high thrust force transportation system has been proposed but this motor causes an increase of material cost because of its characteristic arranging the armature on the full length of transportation lines when this system is applied to the long distance transportation system. Therefore, we suggested discontinuous arrangement method of the armature to solve this problem. However, Detent force which causes thrust force ripple generating noise, vibration and decline of performance is generated when a mover pass between the armatures. Thus, in this paper, we examined characteristic of detent force to reduce the end edge effect according to the end edge teeth's height and auxiliary teeth and suggested the shape that can the most reduce the detent force.
Extended Kalman Filter Design for Sensorless Control of IPMSM Drive

In this paper, a design of speed and position controller based on the EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) for sensorless control in IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is proposed. The proposed method subdivides the state estimation interval for improving the accuracy of state estimation. and each subdivided interval estimated first order term using Taylor series. The proposed state estimator comparison with the second-order extended Kalman filter reduced calculation amount of a priori estimation. And the simulation results were proved that The accuracy of priori estimation is increased.

In this paper, an analysis of behavior is performed in the circular hybrid energy harvesting device. This analysis of behavior is to confirm with or without an existence of nonlinear system because its system is required to produce the more energy. To do this, first of all the phase portrait is reconstructed through Taken's embedding method, and then Poincare map is organized by using phase portrait and finally Lyapunov exponent is analyzed.

Protocol analyzer is being used to analyze proper processing of CMD & data when developing SD slave IP. In this thesis, a protocol analyzer was developed for analyzing SD protocol in Windows environment using Visual C++. SD protocol analyzer consists of embedded Linux software for storing SD memory data and MFC program for analyzing this. As for protocol analysis, it has been designed to collect data transmitted from SD memory card to host by Linux software for its analysis by MFC. It was found through the experiment that the CMD type could be confirmed that occurs when reading and writing data to SD memory card using the developed board, and debugging the problems that occur was possible.

In this paper, we implement a hardware for motor control based on FPGA + embedded processor using Zynq EPP which is All Programmable SoC in order to improve a structural problem of motion control based on such as DSP, MCU and FPGA previously. The implemented motor controller that is fused controller with advantage of FPGA and embedded processor. The signal processing part of high velocity motor control is performed by motor controller based on FPGA. A motion profile and kinematic calculation that are required algorithm process such as operation of a complicate decimal point has processed in an embedded processor based on dual core. As a result of a hardware implementation, it has an advantage that has can be realized an effect of distribution process in one chip. It has also an advantage that is able to organize as a multi-axis motor controller through adding the IP core of motor control implemented on FPGA.

In this paper we implement collision avoidance using an artificial potential field and remote control of a mobile robot through ROS(Robot Operating System) among the robot's middleware. We also apply dynamic reconfigure to a node of collision avoidance. The main purposes of ROS are sharing and cooperation. In order to make to fit the purpose of ROS, the hardware that frequently is used in the robot such as LRF and joystick, were reused as node that provide in the ROS.

Big data which requires a different approach from existing data processing methods, is unstructured data with a variety of features. The features mean the volume of data, the rate of change of the data, the data with a variety of features. Tweets of twitter in only Korea are more than 5 millions per day. So much cheaper data storage and analysis system due to the increasing demand for information, the value of research is increasing. In this paper, the technology required by the deformation characteristics of the data elements as a technology priority-based word-based recommendation algorithm is proposed.

This paper deals with an approach to boost the public sector SI market in Korea. In order to promote competition powers of the software industry in Korea, a software industry promotion law has been issued, which restricts large SI companies from competing in the public sector system integration market. However, naturally many SI projects in public sectors are too large and complicated to be carried by small and medium size companies. This paper proposes an approach to reform the SI market for those small and medium size SI companies.

An important factor in education is ensuring reliable quality of education. There are a variety of ways based on criteria to ensure the quality of education. To ensure quality management, attendance is important which is highly reliable rating at the account education of Ministry of Employment and Labor and sevice training of Health Care. In contrast, the service training of health care professionals was consisting of formal attendance management, quality of education has been raised as a problem. Recently developed USN-based attendance management system is effective. But if education is proceed at a large number of small scale in the area of education, cost, portability, systeme management, the reliability of the Trainee's attendance remained as problems to solve. To address these needs, this paper quoted low-cost attendance management system which was desighned and implemented by barcode and PC camera. As a result the actual maintenance training system showed a 98% satisfaction in terms of administrator and 95% satisfaction in terms of Trainee.
Performance Comparison of Virtualization Domain in User Level Virtualization

In this paper, we proposed new virtualization technology that is more convenient and stable in local computing environment, then found technique elements need to desktop virtualization which is based on clients in various virtualization technologies. After running excution of process explorer utility in user level virtualization and VMWare, we found memory capacity that is used 30.1MB in VMWare and 16.6MB in user level virtualization respectively to compare private bytes each of process. We found no significant difference of CPU utilization which is executed application program in local computing environment and user domain with user level virtualization. In this result, proposed virtualization technology is able to minimize performance degradation of local computing environment.

The Study of Function about Real Life in Children with Cerebral Palsy

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation amongst the social function, communication function, activities of daily living and gross motor function beyond existing research on physical function and functional capacity in cerebral palsy. 43 children with cerebral palsy participated in this study and significant correlations were found among social function, communication function, activities of daily living and gross motor function. The greatest significant correlations were found between social function and activities of daily living. Significant higher correlations were found between items of social function and communication, but were lower between social function and gross motor function. The results showed that we consider the social aspects of function of children with cerebral palsy in the area of rehabilitation in order to focus on the problem in real life.

In order to understand how static stretch and PNF stretch affect flexibility improvement of college taekwondo players, the study evaluated the joint working range of the knee joint while testing the jump performance to see if those stretches have any influence on a functional performance. According to the results of the research, each group of the static stretch and PNF stretch was observed with significant improvements in the joint working range and the jump performance. From the comparison between the two groups, only the jump performance came up with significant differences.

The purpose of this study was Changes of body composition and vascular flexibility check according to Pilates Mat exercise in elderly Women and in future, Exercise programs for seniors health promotion as evidence when tried to utilize. Female 30 elderly patients classified into the control group and the exercise group, who was conducted Pilates Mat exercise was gradually intensity applied for 60 minutes, three times per 1week, a total of 12 weeks. The following were result the study. Body composition showed statistically significant increased(p<.01) in skeletal muscle and body fat rates was decreased(p<.01), and there was no statistically significant difference in body fat mass. Vascular flexibility showed systolic pressure was statistically significant decreased(p<.01) and peripheral pulse pressure were statistically significant decreased(p<.01), and there was no statistically significantly difference in diastolic pressure and aorta pulse pressure. As a result of all these, it was judged that a positive effect for body composition, and vascular flexibility after pilates mat exercise in 12 weeks.
Effects of the Inspiratory Muscle Strengthening Training on the Respiratory Functions and the Quality of Life in Patients with Cervical Spinal Cord Injury Patients

For patients suffering from spinal cord injuries, both of the possibility of having complications with the respiratory system and the related fatal rate are still high, while pneumonia is the most important cause of these fatalities. This research was carried out to find out what effects does a breathing exercise have on the respiratory functions and the improvement in the quality of life. The study was carried out for male patients suffering cervical spinal cord injuries for the purpose of inspiratory muscle strengthening. The objects of the study were 17 non-smoking-at-present male patients with C4 to C6 cervical spinal cord injuries. They had practiced inspiratory muscle strengthening training for three times a week for six weeks. The quality of life and the dyspnea (breathing difficulty) were self-measured before and after the training. As a result, the change in respiratory function was only significantly reduced (p<0.01) within the chronic group. In terms of the changes in the quality of life, the sub-acute group has only seen a significant improvement (p<0.05) for the VT(vitality), while the chronic group has seen significant improvements(p<0.05, p<0.01) in: GH(general health); BP(back pain); and VT(vitality). In this research, the inspiratory muscle strengthening has reduced the dyspnea (breathing difficulties) and improved the quality of life.
