Recently, in the electric, electronic, robotic, and medical industries, a great attention has been paid to the development of MEMS-based smart devices with a compact size and highly intelligency. The MEMS technology is very effective in designing into a compact size and lightweight by combining into one the complex electrical, mechanical, chemical, and biological features which are required by smart devices, and at the same time, in bulk batch manufacturing. Therefore, this study, to prepare for upcoming new MEMS-based technological paradigm, analyzes MEMS processes and then considers its Applications.
Design and Fabrication of A Dual-band Open-Ended Circular Ring MoNopole Antenna for WLAN Applications

In this paper, a dual-band open-ended circular ring moNopole antenna for WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks) applications. The proposed antenna is based on a planar moNopole design, and composed of open-ended one circular ring of radiating patches for dual-band operation. To obtain the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Ansoft`s High Frequency Structure Simulator(HFSS) and found the parameters that effect antenna characteristics. Using the obtained parameters, the proposed antenna is fabricated. The fabricated antenna is measured at the operating frequencies(2.4-2.484 GHz, 5.15-5.825 GHz), and the return loss coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns are determined.

In this paper, an effort has been made to design a Real-time Ship Management System where the status of a ship and its surrounding are constantly monitored and recorded at the base station. Proprietary system message based on overhead and checksum encapsulation has been designed to facilitate the communication. Software encoder and decoder are developed independently for each communication device attached to the system to process the proprietary system message into format by device standard. In addition, few configurations are designed to determine the method of updating the ship status message to the base station, which could be remotely chosen by the administrator.
Minimizing Machine-to-Machine Data losses on the Offshore Moored Buoy with Software Approach

In this paper, TCP/IP based Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication uses CDMA/GSM network for data communication. This communication method is widely used by offshore moored buoy for data transmission back to the system server. Due to weather and signal coverage, the TCP/IP M2M communication often experiences transmission failure and causing data losses in the server. Data losses are undesired especially for meteorological and oceanographic analysis. This paper discusses a software approach to minimize M2M data losses by handling transmission failure and re-attempt which meant to transmit the data for recovery. This implementation was tested for its performance on a meteorological buoy placed offshore.
Consideration of CJK Joint Hanja Unicode when is used in AMI/HDB-3 Line Coding

This paper analyses the violation rate of CJK joint Chines character Unicode to the source code rule. In the paper, Chinese character 150ea in Chinese Unicode which have relatively a higher frequency in use of a character was chosen to study. The frequency rate in use of the 150ea characters is about 50% of the total frequency rate of the Chinese characters. The study was applied the AMI/HDB-3 line coding/scrambling and HDLC protocol, According to the analyses, the number of violated characters were 77ea of 150 ea, frequency rate in use 29%. Therefore, when the violated 77ea characters are replaced to the matched character codes to the source coding rule, the processing rate of the line coder can be improved about 37%.
Consideration of Roman Character in KS × 1001 Code System for Information Interchange considered AMI/HDB-3 and HDLC FLAG

Datacommunications transmit the source codes that are coded in information devices, such as computer to the transmission line by means of the line coded signal. AMI method is applied to the line coding method to transmit the signal for long distance. The disadvantage of the AMI method is to loss the bit synchronization when consecutive binary bit `0` over 4ea is coming into line coder. The scrambling technique is used to overcome the problem. The HDB-3 scrambling method is used in Korea standard which standard in ITU-T. When the HDB-3 technology is used. the method should convert the consecutive bit `0` over 4ea to certain bits format. As a result, when there are many such kind of `0` bit stream in source codes, data transmission efficiency will be decreased to treat in line coder, etc. This paper is directed to study the Roman character code system in
, Korea standard for information exchange code in datacommunication systems. Based on the study result, this paper proposed the maximum optimized Roman character code system. In the study, Character coding rule for
bits and the statistical data for roman character using frequency were considered to simulate. The paper shows the result that when the proposed new roman character coding system is applied to use, the data transmission efficiency could be increased to about 134% compared to existing code system.

The purpose of this study was to examine how socio-demographic characteristics and delinquent behaviors affect the suicidal ideation among the Korean high school students. Using the 35,668 senior high school student cases of 2009 Korean Youth Health Risk Behavior On-line Survey data, it conducted a secondary data analysis. Frequency analysis, chi-square test and logistic regression analysis was done. Being female, living without parents, low economic status, poor academic record, technical school students, young students, poor academic record, internet addition, problem drinking, smoking cigarettes and experience of drug use significantly increased probability of their suicidal thoughts. Findings may be used for tackle the issues of suicidal thoughts among the Korean senior high school students.

Petrochemical complex has been a lot of research for the development of a more mature product and analysis for mid-process and finished products is essential in these process. But these analyzes are still by hand work samples being manufactured in many parts. Modeling and Analysis of The Buck Converter in Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System

Generally, the buck converter controller was designed to control output voltage of the converter. However, design of the controller in photovoltaic power conditioning system is different from general design. the controller in photovoltaic power conditioning system controls input voltage of the converter(output voltage of the solar cell) for MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking). This paper proposes novel buck converter model which can control input voltage of the converter. We integrate this model with a model of solar cell. and linearize at the operating point(MPP). In addition, we determine whether or not suitable for the general linear controller design into small and large signal analysis.
A Strategic Approach for Promoting Korean e-Government Model Exports Targeting Developing Countries -

This study aims to seek effective measures centering on developing countries that can export Korea`s e-Government ranked the first place two times in a row (2010 and 2012) in the United Nations` e-Government Survey. Up to the present, individual ministries or agencies have made efforts to export systems or services related to e-Government, but it is judged that comprehensive and systematic approaches have not been sufficient. This study, therefore, has been intended to find realistic mid- and long-term strategies and supporting methods that can promote Korean-type e-Government exports by analyzing problems identified in the strategies implemented by the current ministries or agencies for assisting enterprises engaged in e-Government exports. In addition, this study as an empirical one has been intended to diagnose improvement points by analyzing e-Government exporting strategies executed by existing government ministries and agencies, suggest methods for filling in gaps between as-is and to-be models, and seek timely and effective measures in the future.
A Study on Risk Communication and Perception of Electromagnetic Waves from Cellular Phones - Focus on Risk Perception of Women -

The study examined how the risk perception of cellular phone electromagnetic waves` possibility to harm human bodies would be psychologically different by gender and age. The study measured the risk perception targeting a total of 1,001 men and women in their twenties and more living in six major cities in Korea. According to the results, for the risk perception by gender, the women would recognize the risk of cellular phone electromagnetic waves more than the men. Among the women, those in their fifties appeared to have the greatest risk perception. In particular, the risk perception difference by age and gender was observed to be affected by psychological factors and, the study should be regarded academically significant for having verified the importance. For general people, they would perceive the risk via those psychological factors as experiences in daily life. Therefore, in order to relieve social conflicts caused by the risk, basic risk communication based on proper understanding of how the general people would recognize the risk should be provided. Hence, the study is expected to be a chance for intervention strategy research on how our community would proceed with communication and how the community, again, apprehends the cellular phone electromagnetic waves as well.
A Study of Collective Knowledge Production Mechanisms of the three Great SNS

Twitter, Facebook, and KakaoStory are the major SNS in Korea. Social knowledge production is being produced by those services from numerous collaboration and co-participation in those SNS. Wikipedia or Naver JishikIN service was regarded as the representative product of collective knowledge production during the wired internet era. However now at the wireless internet era centered with smart phones, various forms of collective knowledge production would be achieved by connecting to SNS in real-time. In this thesis, the survey data of collective knowledge production for users of three SNS have been compared and analyzed. The difference of the collective knowledge production mechanism among Twitter, Facebook and KakaoStory has been studied and compared through three variables: the motivation of collective knowledge production, the preference of collective knowledge production model, and collective knowledge production cultural perception. As a result of the analysis of the discriminant factors for three SNS user groups, it turns out that the diversity-toward usage motivation, personal contribution motivation, and collective knowledge production tendency perception are the most influential variables. This thesis is of significance in that it unites the value of social science such as social capital and collective knowledge production from the viewpoint of computer science and opens the new chapter of collective knowledge production with the real-time SNS of wireless internet from the wired internet.
A Study on the relationship between the patterns of internet utilization and the internet addiction

Internet addiction is a social problem occurring by overuse of internet. And internet addiction is associated with pathologic personality but clinic study about Internet addiction disorder is lack. This study was designed to evaluate the relationship between internet addiction and pattern of internet utilization. We conducted a questionnaire survey on 1,984 middle school students in Gwang -Ju. We questioned about internet addiction, general characteristics, pattern of internet utilization. 11.8% of total number were internet addiction. Sex, religion, duration, time, place, obscene sites, most frequent using service is associated with internet addiction. Family number, occupation of parents, using internet in home, use of parents isn`t associated with internet addiction. We show interest in general characteristics and pattern of internet utilization about internet addiction. So we council youths about internet problem in accordance with this study results. Then internet addiction and other psychologic problem are decreased.
The Influence of `Qi Energy Healing` On Control of Autonomic Nervous System

This paper demonstrates that `Qi Energy Healing` effects on elevation of capabilities in regards with the autonomic nervous system which prevents from the stress. Nineteen participants were assigned into `Qi Energy Healing` and the `Ordinary Relaxation` condition. Participants were examined to see the difference of frequency domain analysis, heart rate tachogram, physical resistance through the heart rate variability. The `Qi Energy Healing` is significantly more likely to influence on reducing and diminishing the stress. `Qi Energy Healing` treatment showed clear distinction on 6 fact. Our findings established the link between effectiveness of `Qi Energy Healing` and the autonomic nervous system.
The Relationship between Dysmenorrhea and Alternative Medicine among the Internet Age

This study was investigated the subjects` satisfaction in the therapy among the internet age. The subjects of the study were 200 women who have menses in ages from 18 to 55 among visitors of five public health centers and attendants of A church in Gwangju. The period of the study ranged from September 6 to October 10, 2010. As a study instrument, this study used a questionnaire developed based on questions from studies published by An Seung-duk(2003). This study used SPSS 17.0, for a frequency analysis, a cross-tabulation and a chi-squared test. During the analysis, 43.4% of the subjects used the complementary alternative therapy. 56.3% visited used oriental medical clinics or herbal medicine shops as places to use the therapy, 42.5% received medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping at oriental medical clinics. As expenses of the therapy, 56.3% spent less than 500,000 won a year. After the therapy, 51% answered they were satisfied with the therapy. In conclusion, it was discovered that use rate of the therapy is increasing, the subjects decided to use the therapy for themselves or through recommendation from acquaintances, and they mainly depended on reliable oriental medical clinics or folk remedies against menstrual pain, and insurance benefits for the therapy should be considered except oriental medical hospitals or clinics.
Preference survey on the development of a bath preparation used by Zizania latifolia

Zizania latifola has used for folk medicine in Korea. It is effective in treating skin trouble and sensitivity skins. The purpose of this study was to develop high valuable types of bath preparation of Zizania latifolia. The natural materials were manufactured by the mixed ratio of Zizania latifolia. Product was manufactured by the mixed ratio of Zizania latifolia and 3 natural materials. Green tea was highest in sensory evaluation as similar with Zizania latifolia. optimum condition of mixed ratio was adaptive 50% Houttuynia cordata, 30% green tea with 20% Artemisia vularis. Product`s sensory evaluation was showed best in mixing 40% and Zizania latifolia extract 60%. There were optimal condition for manufacturing of cleansing. Therefore, The development of a bath preparation used by Zizania latifolia is very useful for manufacturing cleansing. We suggest that it help for improve skin trouble and make healthy skin.
Effects of Hatha Yoga Practice on the Elderly Having Chronic Back Pain because of Computer Usage

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of practicing Hatha Yoga on the elderly. I have focused on the changes in subjective pain and a feeling of helplessness in their daily lives of elderly people over 65 who are suffering from chronic back pain. We looked at both men and women over 65, who were not working during the period, all of whom had been experiencing back pain over 6 months. All the subjects have never practiced Hatha Yoga or any other specialized and/or systematic workouts at that time. Among them, the men and women over age 65 with chronic back pain were selected as a group and practiced Hatha Yoga three times a week for eight weeks. In conclusion, the study proves that Hatha Yoga is an effective way for the old over 65 with chronic back pain by acquiring muscular strength and flexibility at the same time.
