Vehicle Detection Using Optimal Features for Adaboost

A new vehicle detection algorithm based on the multiple optimal Adaboost classifiers with optimal feature selection is proposed. It consists of two major modules: 1) Theoretical DDISF(Distance Dependent Image Scaling Factor) based image scaling by site modeling of the installed cameras. and 2) optimal features selection by Haar-like feature analysis depending on the distance of the vehicles. The experimental results of the proposed algorithm shows improved recognition rate compare to the previous methods for vehicles and non-vehicles. The proposed algorithm shows about 96.43% detection rate and about 3.77% false alarm rate. These are 3.69% and 1.28% improvement compared to the standard Adaboost algorithmt.
Development of A FBG Sensor Interrogator for Detecting Strain and Performance Comparison of Peak Detection Algorithms

FBG sensors are mainly used to measure strain and temperature of structures. In this paper, an interrogator of FBG sensors is developed and implemented to measure the crack of structures using FPGA and DSP. Developed interrogator consists of an optical source, an optical circulator, an optical grating and a CCD sensor and controller. The spectrum of the reflected light from the FBG sensor is analyzed and peak wavelength is detected. Next, strain of structure can be measured using shift of peak wavelength. Centroid algorithm and Gaussian fitting which are mainly applied to detect peak wavelength of the interrogator are compared in this paper. As a result of experiment, Gaussian fitting is suitable for a developed interrogator.
Implement of a Watt-Hour Meter Monitoring System using Powerline Communication

This paper deals a watt-hour meter monitor system with applying a Power Line Communication (PLC) modem and a Data Concentrator Unit (DCU). PLC modem uses the power line, so there is no need to install dedicated wiring. This system makes it possible to monitor the amount of electricity of previous current month metering data, so it can easily apply a PC-management for the electric charges and maintenance with gathering the metering data.
An Optimized Algorithm for Constructing LDPC Code with Good Performance

In this paper, an algorithm having new edge growth with depth constraints for constructing Tanner graph of LDPC(Low density parity check) codes is proposed. This algorithm reduces effectively the number of small stoping set in the graph and has lower complexity than other algorithm. The simulation results shows the improved performance of the LDPC codes constructed by this algorithm.
Hierarchical Clustering-Based Cloaking Algorithm for Location-Based Services

The rapid growth of smart phones has made location-based services (LBSs) widely available. However, the use of LBS can raise privacy issues, as LBS can allow adversaries to violate the location privacy of users. There has been a considerable amount of research on preserving user location privacy. Most of these studies try to preserve location privacy by achieving what is known as location K-anonymity. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical clustering-based spatial cloaking algorithm for LBSs. The proposed algorithm constructs a tree using a modified version of agglomerative hierarchical clustering. The experimental results show, in terms of the ASR size, that the proposed algorithm is better than Hilbert Cloak and comparable to RC-AR (R-tree Cloak implementation of Reciprocal with an Asymmetric R-tree split). In terms of the ASR generation time, the proposed algorithm is much better in its performance than RC-AR and similar in performance to Hilbert Cloak.

Currently in 2013, a law that was drawn as a result of social agreement for personal information protection was enacted, and through several amendments, definite policy of written law and guideline were presented for definitive information protection in various fields of social business including IT field. Based on a series of social issues about the importance of personal information, a new access paradigm to personal information appeared. And from macroscopic access method called information protection, the necessity of technical access method came to the fore. Of course, it seems somewhat irrational to restrict all data in the form of personal information to a certain category of information until now. But in the deluge of information based on IT field, it is true that the part of checking the flow of personal information and selecting as security target has been standardized. But still there are cases in which it is difficult to routinely apply the five standardized flows of personal information Life-Cycle-collect, process, provide, store, and destroy-to information that all companies and organizations have. Therefore, the researcher proposes the standardized methodology by proposing the access control methodology for dualised hierarchical personal information Life-Cycle. The results of this research aim to provide practical data which makes optimal access control to personal information Life-Cycle possible.
An Implementation of the Mobile App for Dynamic Scheduling Services based on Context-awareness

Since existing location-based services suggest a search result, not considering user`s environment, intention, or preference, situational awareness is required to resolve this problem. In this paper, an Android-based situational-awareness dynamic scheduling will be suggested and a tourist information service application will be embodied and tested. In other words, a real-time tourist scheduling service that calculates an estimated travel time from user`s location to destination and reminds a user before the expected departure time will be developed. In addition to tourist information, an added scheduler provides convenience and improves its functionality.
A Vehicle Detection and Tracking Algorithm Using Local Features of The Vehicle in Tunnel

In this paper, an efficient vehicle detection and tracking algorithm for detection incident in tunnel is proposed. The proposed algorithm consists of three steps. The first one is a step for background estimates, low computational complexity and memory consumption Running Gaussian Average (RGA) is used. The second step is vehicle detection step, Adaboost algorithm is applied to this step. In order to reduce false detection from a relatively remote location of the vehicles, local features according to height of vehicles are used to detect vehicles. If the local features of an object are more than the threshold value, the object is classified as a vehicle. The last step is a vehicle tracking step, the Kalman filter is applied to track moving objects. Through computer simulations, the proposed algorithm was found that useful to detect and track vehicles in the tunnel.
Realistic individual 3D face modeling

In this paper, we present realistic 3D head modeling and facial expression systems. For 3D head modeling, we perform generic model fitting to make individual head shape and texture mapping. To calculate the deformation function in the generic model fitting, we determine correspondence between individual heads and the generic model. Then, we reconstruct the feature points to 3D with simultaneously captured images from calibrated stereo camera. For texture mapping, we project the fitted generic model to image and map the texture in the predefined triangle mesh to generic model. To prevent extracting the wrong texture, we propose a simple method using a modified interpolation function. For generating 3D facial expression, we use the vector muscle based algorithm. For more realistic facial expression, we add the deformation of the skin according to the jaw rotation to basic vector muscle model and apply mass spring model. Finally, several 3D facial expression results are shown at the end of the paper.
An Enhanced Max-Min Neural Network using a Fuzzy Control Method

In this paper, we proposed an enhanced Max-Min neural network by auto-tuning of learning rate using fuzzy control method. For the reduction of training time required in the competition stage, the method was proposed that arbitrates dynamically the learning rate by applying the numbers of the accuracy and the inaccuracy to the input of the fuzzy control system. The experiments using real concrete crack images showed that the enhanced Max-Min neural network was effective in the recognition of direction of the extracted cracks.
Facial Feature Extraction using Multiple Active Appearance Model

Active Appearance Model(AAM) is one of the facial feature extraction techniques. In this paper, we propose the Multiple Active Appearance Model(MAAM). Proposed method uses two AAMs. Each AAM trains using different training parameters. It causes that each AAM has different strong points. One AAM complements the weak points in the other AAM. We performed the facial feature extraction on the 100 images to verify the performance of MAAM. Experiment results show that MAAM gives more accurate results than AAM with less fitting iteration.
Fast Sequential Optimal Normal Bases Multipliers over Finite Fields

Arithmetic operations over finite fields are widely used in coding theory and cryptography. In both of these applications, there is a need to design low complexity finite field arithmetic units. The complexity of such a unit largely depends on how the field elements are represented. Among them, representation of elements using a optimal normal basis is quite attractive. Using an algorithm minimizing the number of 1`s of multiplication matrix, in this paper, we propose a multiplier which is time and area efficient over finite fields with optimal normal basis.
Development of Balloon-based Autonomous Airborne Robot-kit

Recently, although the need of marine robots such as the underwater robot, surface robot and airborne robot being raised in extreme areas, the basis is very deficient. Fortunately, as the need of the robot education is increasing, it is desirable to establish the R&D basis of marine robots and to train future talents through the development and diffusion of marine robot kits. However, in conventional case, there is no marine robot-kit based on the balloon, which has the abilities of the airborne locomotion and obstacle avoidance. To solve this problem, a balloon-based autonomous airborne robot-kit that has the ability of the obstacle avoidance with an infrared sensor, is developed. The test and evaluation results show the possibility of the real applications and the necessity of additional work.

This study is the analysis and verification process of the L-band satellite communications repeater thought PCB & circuit EM analysis. System performance can be vulnerable to various spurious inside the L-band satellite transponder, power conversion board, digital signal board, TM/TC board, such as control panels and blocks that are linked signal components when the winch is increased due to the noise component. So the whole system can cause performance degradation. PCB resonance analysis and EM simulation can be easily analyzed for a variety of optimal. Also, by setting the ports on the PCB, H/W designer wants to can easily analyze system.
Design of an Analog Array using Enhancement of Electric Field on Floating Gate MOSFETs

An analog array with a 1.2 double poly floating gate transistor has been developed with a standard CMOS fabrication process. The programming of each cell by means of an efficient control circuit eliminates the unnecessary erasing operation which has been widely used in conventional analog memories. It is seen that the path of the signal for both the programming and the reading is almost exactly the same since just one comparator supports both operations. It helps to eliminate the effects of the amplifier input-offset voltage problem on the output voltage for the read operation. In the array, there is no pass transistor isolating a cell of interest from the adjacent cells in the array. Instead of the extra transistors, one extra bias voltage, Vmid, is employed. The experimental results from the memory shows that the resolution of the memory is equivalent to the information content of at least six digital cells. Programming/erasing of each cell is achieved with no detectable disturbance of adjacent cells. Finally, the unique shape of the injector structure in a EEPROM is adopted as a cell of analog array. It reduces the programming voltage below the transistor breakdown voltage without any special fabrication process.
Analytic Expression of the Signal Distortion in Dispersion-Managed Optical Transmission

We investigate an approximate analytic expression of signal distortion caused by the interaction between self-phase modulation (SPM) and dispersion in the dispersion-managed optical transmission where the dispersion is optimally compensated. From the analytic study, we obtain the analytic expression of the signal distortion in dispersion-managed optical transmission system. To confirm the validity of the analytic expression, we show that the eye-opening penalties calculated by the analytic expression correspond with the simulation results. Using the analytic result, we can easily estimate the signal distortion without complex nonlinear simulations.
End Edge Cogging Force Minimization according to the Distance between Armatures of Stationary Discontinuous Armature PMLSM with Concentrated Winding

Currently, The general transportation system arranges the armature on the full length of transportation lines. However, when this method is applied to the long distance transportation system, it causes an increase of material cost and manufacturing time. Thus, in order to resolve this problem, discontinuous arrangement method of the armature has been proposed. However, in the method of using stationary discontinuous armatures, mover can stop in the freewheeling section which is non-installations section when disturbance is generated and the mover can not be moved because armature control is impossible. Thus, the distance determination of armature is very important. Also, when the armature is arranged discontinuously the edge always exists due to the structure. Due to this edge, the cogging force is greatly generated during the entry and ejection of the mover to the armature. This cogging force causes thrust force ripple generating noise, vibration and decline of performance, it must be reduced. Therefore, in this paper, we examined the end edge cogging force generated by the stationary discontinuous armatures through 2-D numerical analysis using finite element method (FEM) and we figured out distance of armature for end edge cogging force minimization.
A Study on Performance Comparison of Multipurpose Function Electronic Measurement Reference Station Prototype System using LED and Gyro Sensor

In this paper, We proposes multipurpose function electronic measurement reference station prototype system based on LED and Gyro Sensor. This system have developed to possible with real time data collection and landscape illumination and surrounding diastrophism monitoring for that analyze problems of existing planted reference station. Hardware for the proposed system consists of a gyro sensor module to detect diastrophism, GPS module to process location information, environment sensor module to process surrounding environmental data and CDMA wireless data communication to send the collected data to server. In addition, this paper intends to enhance system management and future usability in a way that applies LED, QR-code, RFID and Solar cell module to outer side of electronic measurement reference station to improve usability of H/W for electronic measurement reference station. Lastly, this paper conducted current amount evaluation to supply stabilized electricity with its various functions in the proposed multipurpose function electronic measurement reference station and it`s proved that this system can be stably operated with its electricity loss factor of 2.29% loss factor. And this paper conducted a qualitative comparison with existing electronic measurement reference station system in order to evaluate superiority of the proposed electronic measurement reference station.

The study is about the national defense 2020 plan. According to the reduction of military bases, It should be needed to be integrated as a high-tech camp. So we researched and did a fact-finding survey mainly in Gyeonggi Province. After the research, first, It should be reset the regional development planning and the retention criteria of harmonized camp. Second, the neglected and scrapped camps should be put into order to activate the local economy by handling procedure. Third, it should have dedicated consultative bodies, exclusive departments and professional staff to communicate with the military authorities and the citizens. Fourth, if there are any causes of civil appeals such as shooting ranges should be in the underground. Lastly, To get support smoothly, it should be reflected by enacted special laws and ordinance regulations. This material could be used when the Ministry of National Defense has a discussion with Gyeonggi Province.
The Effect of Soru Massage Therapy on Pain of the Head and Neck of Elderly

This study was aimed to analyse the effect of Soru massage therapy on pain of the head and neck of 46 seniors aged over 65. The therapy was given twice a week for eight weeks and a total of 16 sessions for 30 minutes. The results revealed that the pain average on the head and neck of the male and female subjects was statistically significant. For the test group who had a random test, the average of pain on the head and neck of the subjects was statistically significant. Based on the results, Soru massage therapy showed positive results for pain on the head and neck of elderly persons, which indicates that it can improve their health and quality of living. Therefore, this study is an arbitrary alternative therapy which can be applied for the elderly who have pain on the head and neck caused by muscular tension.
Comparison of Maintenance Period on Muscle Activity and MVIC according to Type of Stretching

This study selected 22 male subjects to examine the maintenance period of static and ballistic stretching applied to rectus femoris, divided them into 11 static stretching group and 11 ballistic stretching group and analyzed changes in median frequency and in maximal voluntary isometric contraction before stretching and at 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, and 10 min after stretching. Median frequency showed significant differences in changes according to time and groups after the test of main effects. It was reduced after 3 min. in both static stretching and ballistic stretching groups and then increased again. Maximal voluntary isometric contraction showed significant differences in changes according to time and groups from the results of the main effect test. Static stretching group was reduced at 3 min after the experiment and then increased after that and ballistic stretching group was reduced at 5 min after the experiment and then increased again. In conclusion, changes were shown according to time after stretching and the effects of ballistic stretching were maintained a little longer than those of static stretching.
