Design of Voltage Controlled Oscillator for X-band Radar Using CSRR loaded microstrip line

In this paper, a novel voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) using CSRR loaded microstrip line for X-band RADAR is proposed. Using the microstrip line loaded CSRR inserted between the oscillator and buffer to the filter, the harmonic suppression has been improved. The measured results of the fabricated oscillator shows that its oscillation frequencies are from 9.28 to 9.39GHz according to the tuning voltage 0~10V, its output power level are about 16.6dBm at 9.35GHz. Compared with VCO using the conventional VCO, VCO using CSRR loaded microstirp, the harmonic suppression characteristic has been improved in 10.4dB
Design and Fabrication of Dual-Ring Monopole Antenna for Wideband Characteristics

In this paper, a double circular ring monopole antenna for wideband applications is designed and fabricated. The proposed antenna is based on a planar monopole design, and composed of double circular ring of radiating patches and ground plane to obtain the wideband characteristics. To get the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator(HFSS) and found the parameters that effect antenna characteristics. Using the obtained parameters, the proposed antenna is fabricated. The fabricated antenna is measured at the operating frequencies, and the return loss coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns are determined. The results of measurement, -10dB impedance bandwidth, measured return loss is 4,530 MHz(2,510-7,040 MHz) and antenna peak and average gains for the frequencies are obtained 0.71~3.38 dBi, -3.85~0.3 dBi, respectively. In case of radiation patterns, the proposed antenna displays nearly omnidirectional radiation characteristics in the E-plane, and monopole-like radiation pattern characteristics in the H-plane.
Noise Reduction Algorithm in Speech by Wiener Filter

This paper proposes a noise reduction algorithm using Wiener filter to remove the noise components from the noisy speech in order to improve the speech signal. The proposed algorithm first removes the noise spectrums of white noise from the noisy signal based on the noise reshaping and reduction method at each frame. And this algorithm enhances the speech signal using Wiener filter based on linear predictive coding analysis. In this experiment, experimental results of the proposed algorithm demonstrate using the speech and noise data by Japanese male speaker. Based on measuring the spectral distortion (SD) measure, experiments confirm that the proposed algorithm is effective for the speech by contaminated white noise. From the experiments, the maximum improvement in the output SD values was 4.94 dB better for white noise compared with former Wiener filter.
Dimensionality Reduction in Speech Recognition by Principal Component Analysis

In this paper, we investigate a method of reducing the computational cost in speech recognition by dimensionality reduction of MFCC feature vectors. Eigendecomposition of the feature vectors renders linear transformation of the vectors in such a way that puts the vector components in order of variances. The first component has the largest variance and hence serves as the most important one in relevant pattern classification. Therefore, we might consider a method of reducing the computational cost and achieving no degradation of the recognition performance at the same time by dimensionality reduction through exclusion of the least-variance components. Experimental results show that the MFCC components might be reduced by about half without significant adverse effect on the recognition error rate.

In this paper, alkaline or acidic solution, in particular the principle of electrolysis to oxidize the metal surface to form a device isolation film is developed. In the past, mainly in the form of pulse voltage is applied to the anode only a unipolar method, but in this paper by using the H-bridge to the amount of the positive (+) voltage and the negative supply voltage, alternating voltage polarity devices were fabricated according to the characteristics of metal specimens with different electrical conditions to form an oxide film on the device was developed. Supply current variable was used for the PWM modulation, (+) and (-) polarity change of the H-bridge bipolar pulse voltage to supply the was that. As a result, a more uniform pores with unipolar film was formed.
Hacking Detection Mechanism of Cyber Attacks Modeling

In order to actively respond to cyber attacks, not only the security systems such as IDS, IPS, and Firewalls, but also ESM, a system that detects cyber attacks by analyzing various log data, are preferably deployed. However, as the attacks be come more elaborate and advanced, existing signature-based detection methods start to face their limitations. In response to that, researches upon symptom detection technology based on attack modeling by employing big-data analysis technology are actively on-going. This symptom detection technology is effective when it can accurately extract features of attacks and manipulate them to successfully execute the attack modeling. We propose the ways to extract attack features which can play a role as the basis of the modeling and detect intelligent threats by carrying out scenario-based modeling.
Bilateral Filtering-based Mean-Shift for Robust Face Tracking

The mean shift algorithm has achieved considerable success in object tracking due to its simplicity and robustness. It finds local minima of a similarity measure between the color histograms or kernel density estimates of the target and candidate image. However, it is sensitive to the noises due to objects or background having similar color distributions. In addition, occlusion by another object often causes a face region to change in size and position although a face region is a critical clue to perform face recognition or compute face orientation. We assume that depth and color are effective to separate a face from a background and a face from objects, respectively. From the assumption we devised a bilateral filter using color and depth and incorporate it into the mean-shift algorithm. We demonstrated the proposed method by some experiments.
R-Q Modeling for H.264/AVC Rate Control

The first frame of a GOP, an I frame, is encoded in intra mode which generates a larger number of bits. In addition, the I frame is used for the inter mode encoding of the following frames. Thus the intial QP for the I frame affects the first frame as well as the following frames. In our previous work, we analyzed the number of bits for an I frame and showed that the ratio of the number of bits which maximizes the PSNR of a GOP maintains similar value regardless of GOP's. In this paper, we propose a R-Q model which can be used for the calculation of the initial QP given the amount of bits for an I frame. The proposed model is simple and adaptively modifies model parameters, so it can be applicable to the real-time application. It is shown by experimental results that the proposed model captures initial QP characteristics effectively and the proposed method for model parameters accurately estimates the real values.

New & renewable energy becomes a crucial subject to solve the problems inherent in the current energy resources, which results in the fast development of the new & renewable energy industry worldwide. However, not only its base is still weak but the high initial investment for technology development and certain scale of an energy market are required in many cases. For this reason, many countries in the world, including Korea, run the energy policies to foster the new & renewable energy industry such as RSP and FIT. In general, a policy should be established to take various, intertwined interests as well as a number of variables related to economic, social, environmental, and international matters into comprehensive consideration. For new & renewable energy industry, there are many variables to be considered and indexes necessary for evaluation but it is hard to take all of them into account. Even though they were considered, no criteria are available for use in a consistent manner. Therefore, this study plans to develop an evaluation model for the Korean new & renewable energy policy.
Bandwidth Effect on the Dispersion Monitoring of CSRZ Signal Based on Clock Component

In optical fiber communications, several newly-developed signal formats are used to obtain the best performance within limited spectral bandwidth. CSRZ (carrier-suppressed return-to-zero) format is one of the new signal formats, which has better spectral efficiency and better robustness to dispersion than RZ (return-to-zero) format. Thus it is widely used for demonstrating high-speed optical communication systems. In an earlier research, we proposed a clock-extraction method of CSRZ signal to monitor chromatic dispersion. However, the clock-frequency component extracted by the clock-extraction method can be affected by the bandwidth of a transmitter or a receiver. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the effect of bandwidth on the chromatic dispersion monitoring of CSRZ signal based on clock-frequency component. As a result, we propose a couple of robust clock-extraction methods to monitor chromatic dispersion in CSRZ signal.
A Study on the Effects of Quality of u-City Service on Customer Satisfaction in the Korea : Focusing on Public Services

This paper aims to study the effects of quality of u-City public service on customer satisfaction in the Korea and is summarized as follows. First, we propose a model for assessing customer's satisfaction on u-City public services. The model comprises of information system (IS) quality, information quality, service quality and publicity. For verifying a model, a statistical study by SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 16.0 has been performed. Second, it is shown from the analysis that information system (IS) quality, information quality and publicity have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. while service quality does not. Last, the study shows that u-City public service enables any citizen to connect to necessary service in anytime and anywhere.

After platform changed from PC-based internet to mobile, SNS became new interactive media which relaces face-to-face interaction. the SNS users have already begun to recognize SNS as daily necessity. SNS market has been subdivided. In other words, SNS has entered into a period of vertical SNS that focus on contents and specific target. Therefore, It is necessary to analyze users for SNS planners. For this reason, analyzing why office workers who have the most powerful purchasing power use SNS is meaningful for SNS planners. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the reasons for using SNS of office workers by studying relationship among office workers' stress, social support, self-expression and the use of SNS. As a result, the use of SNS has a significantly positive correlation with social support and self-expression. The self-expression in the SNS is not associated with stress, but rather it is the characteristics of the office workers. However the social support in the SNS affects to stress.
A Theoretical Analysis of Two Phase Existence Phenomena on Surface with the Two Dimensional Cluster Aggregation Model

We have introduced two dimensional cluster aggregation model to explain theoretically two phase coexistence phenomena such that adsorption is increased sharply discontinuous in particular pressure on the surface. And then, we have derived adsorption isotherms by applying fundamental statistical thermodynamics and Lagrange multipliers to the our model. By analyzing the our derived adsorption isotherms, we can explain well qualitatively that two phase coexistence on the surface adsorption would be a phenomena that occurs with the strong attractive forces between the adsorbed particles.

The purpose of this study was to examine the level of job stress and depression, and to find the associated domains of job stress with depression among local public officials. The study subjects consist of 734 local public officials in Seogu, Gwang Ju. A structure self-reported questionnaire was composed of general and job-related characteristics, job stress(KOSS), and depression(CES-D). The use statistical methods were t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis. The total score of job stress was

. The result of multiple logistic regression analysis was shown that the three domains of job stress including job demand, job insecurity and lack of reward were associated with the depression.
The Correlation Between Changes of Ankle Joint Position Sense and Sway Area Through Unstable Surface Training

This research was conducted to see the correlation between changes of ankle Joint Position Sense and Sway Area through Unstable Surface training. For the study, 48 healthy males and females were randomly divided into an unstable surface group(n=24) and a stable surface group(n=24). Then, they were asked to carry out the same exercise program three times a week for six weeks. The unstable surface group and stable surface group performed the exercise program on the balance exercise pad and on the hard ground, respectively. As a result, the unstable surface group displayed significantly reduced error of ankle joint position sense and sway area(p<.05). Moreover, a significant correlation between variances of ankle joint position sense and sway area was only found in the unstable surface group. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that there was a significant correlation between changes of ankle joint position sense and sway area through proprioceptive sense training on the unstable surface.
Development of a smart pillbox and improvement of the medication adherence for the efficient management of medicine administration

As Korea is expected to enter an aging society in near future, the number of patients who need a long-term prescription is expected to increase as well. In particular, Korea shows the highest in both the incident rate and the death rate among OECD member nations. The current situation requires more strict monitoring and management for patients' taking medicine, there are a few practical problems such as personnel expenses. In order to realize the efficient management of medicine administration, this paper proposes a smart pillbox that is developed based on IT technologies. Through the experiments in which actual patients participate, it is proved that the smart pillbox is beneficial to the patients taking medicine.
Effects of Long-term Aqua Exercise Program on Body Composition, Exercise Function and Quality of Life of the Old Women

This study selected 31 old women over 65 years old residing in G county, Jeonnam and applied the aqua exercise program to them for 1 hour a session, once a week for 1 year from Feb. 1, 2011 to Jan. 31, 2012 in order to examine the effects of the program on body composition, exercise function, quality of life and self-esteem in the elderly. As a result of measuring health related factors before and after applying the exercise program, it was found that long-term aqua exercise program had statistically significant change and increase in body composition (weight, body fat mass and percent body fat), exercise function (flexibility, balance, TUG, back muscle strength), quality of life and self-esteem. Therefore, it is considered that continuous aqua exercise program is needed to improve body composition, exercise function, quality of life and self-esteem of the old women in rural areas.
Fabrication of shoes for analyzing human gait pattern using strain sensors

The human gait pattern analysis shoes have been developed for our healthy lfe, which is largely dependent on a posture and a skeletal structure affected by daily lifestyle and gait pattern. There are generally 3 types of human gait, such as normal gait, intoeing gait, and outtoeing gait. We have analyzed one's gait pattern through walking put on the developed shoes.
The Effect of Direct Swallowing Treatment on the Swallowing Function and Quality of Life of the Stroke Patient

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of direct swallowing treatment on recovering swallowing functions and quality of life. The study was performed over three weeks from December 3 to 21, 2012 for one dysphagia patient who was diagnosed with a stroke. The study design was carried out using a reversal design (AB) in single-subject experimental research. The direct swallowing treatment were implemented by a total of 10 times, five times a week and 20 minutes for each treatment, and the results of the treatment were compared and analyzed based on the differences in scores during the treatment period of the baseline and swallowing treatment. After completing the direct swallowing treatment, the swallowing function in stroke patients was improved and the improved swallowing function affected the quality of life positively. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to make efforts to improve the swallowing function and quality of life in patients through applying such early direct swallowing treatment with oral intakes for the subjects who can take direct swallowing treatment in clinics.
Effect of Clinical Kinesiology Class Contents by Utilizing Movies

The purpose of this study is to develop the Clinical Kinesiology Class Contents(: CKCC) by utilizing movies and investigate the effects of its application to clinical kinesiology learning. The developed CKCC were applied to the clinical kinesiology classes for 47 second year student of physical therapy and occupational therapy in K college in G City. CKCC includ movie scenes that can demonstrate the action of muscles effectively, for better student understanding, as has already been shown widely. The interest and understanding of CKCC by the class was analysed. The results show that the developed CKCC is very effective implement for stimulating students' interest(p<0.05) and understanding(p<0.05) of clinical kinesiology classes.
