Improvement of Tracking Performance of Particle Filter in Low Frame Rate Video

Particle filter algorithm has been proven very successful for non-linear and non-Gaussian estimation problem and thus it has been widely used for object tracking for video signals. If the object moves significantly, particle filter needs very large number of particles to track object and this results high computational cost. In this paper, modified particle filter by adopting motion vector is proposed for tracking vehicle in low frame rate(LPR) video input, which the object moving significantly and randomly between consecutive frames. In the proposed algorithm, motion vector is applied in selection and observe step. The experimental result shows that the proposed particle filter can track vehicle successfully in the case when previous one fails. And it also shows the propose method increases the precision of tracking.
Fire Detection in Outdoor Using Statistical Characteristics of Smoke

Detection performance of fire detection in the outdoor depends on weather conditions, the shadow by the movement of the sun, or illumination changes. In this paper, a smoke detection in conjunction with a robust background estimate algorithm to environment change in the outdoor in daytime is proposed. Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is applied as background estimation, and also, statistical characteristics of smoke is applied to detect the smoke for separated candidate region. Through the experiments with input videos obtained from a various weather conditions, the proposed algorithms were useful to detect smoke in the outdoor.
Smoke Detection Based on RGB-Depth Camera in Interior

In this paper, an algorithm using RGB-depth camera is proposed to detect smoke in interrior. RGB-depth camera, the Kinect provides RGB color image and depth information. The Kinect sensor consists of an infra-red laser emitter, infra-red camera and an RGB camera. A specific pattern of speckles radiated from the laser source is projected onto the scene. This pattern is captured by the infra-red camera and is analyzed to get depth information. The distance of each speckle of the specific pattern is measured and the depth of object is estimated. As the depth of object is highly changed, the depth of object plain can not be determined by the Kinect. The depth of smoke can not be determined too because the density of smoke is changed with constant frequency and intensity of infra-red image is varied between each pixels. In this paper, a smoke detection algorithm using characteristics of the Kinect is proposed. The region that the depth information is not determined sets the candidate region of smoke. If the intensity of the candidate region of color image is larger than a threshold, the region is confirmed as smoke region. As results of simulations, it is shown that the proposed method is effective to detect smoke in interior.
Characteristics of Metal Sensor using Variable Frequency

This Electromagnetic metal piece detection sensor, having high sensitivity even under high humidity and dust density, using LVDT was investigated. Metal detection characteristics using phase detection method, for 3 frequencies covering ELF and LF band, were experimentally measured. It was found that the sensitivity for metal and animal food, in which metal piece was included, was exponentially increased as frequency increased. Reducing cutoff frequency of LPF after PD was found to be effective to proportionally increase sensitivity. Also the sensitivity of metal piece detection was enhanced by optimizing BPF bandwidth and SNR. Metal piece detection limit using available ferrous test samples was found to be 0.7mm diameter from the experiment using 50kHz, in ELF band, which was known to have better selectivity to animal food. is an example of ABSTRACT format.
Synthesis of large area·single layer/crystalline graphene

Using chemical vapor deposition(CVD), the synthesis of graphene was performed on poly and single crystalline Cu substrates. The growth behavior of graphene and its characterization were shown utilizing the optical microscopic image and its image analysis. As a result in the analysis of graphene growth, it was found out the graphene is growing always in particular direction in relation to the crystalline direction of a single grain in polycrystalline Cu substrate. With the image analysis it was possible to show the characterization of graphene, such as the growth direction and the number of layers showing single, double and triple layers, within the neighboring single grains in polycrystalline Cu. In addition, the relatively large area of graphene with about
on Cu(111) having high quality, single layer, and single crystalline was shown along with its characterization.
Design of a Microwave Radiometer Receiver for Soil Moisture monitoring

The development process of a L-Band microwave radiometer for remote sensing of soil-moisture are described in this paper. Achieving the development aim of the measurement accuracy within 2% for soil moisture content of 0~50%, the requirements and specifications of the microwave radiometer and its receiver are drawn. The receiver with high gain, high sensitivity is designed and implemented to satisfy these requirements and specifications. The receiver has the bandwidth of 40 MHz, the system gain of 50 dB and the sensitivity of average value 0.19 K, maximum value 0.313K at 1390 MHz.
Overload Control for Random Access in Cellular Machine-to-Machine Communications

In this paper, we propose an overload control scheme to resolve an overload problem in a random access channel of cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication networks. The M2M applications are characterized by small-sized data intermittently transmitted by a massive number of machines. Due to this characteristics, an overload situation in random access channel (RACH) can happen when a large number of devices try to send a signal via the RACH. To address this overload problem, we propose a scheme in which a base station estimates the total load in the network and controls the load by using a p-persistent method based on the estimated load.
Outage Probability Analysis of Macro Diversity Combining Based on Stochastic Geometry

In this paper, we analyze the outage probability of macro diversity combining in cellular networks in consideration of aggregate interference from other mobile stations (MSs). Different from existing works analyzing the outage probability of macro diversity combining, we focus on a diversity gain attained by selecting a base station (BS) subject to relatively low aggregate interference. In our model, MSs are randomly located according to a Poisson point process. The outage probability is analyzed by approximating the multivariate distribution of aggregate interferences on multiple BSs by a multivariate lognormal distribution.
Output SINR Analysis of GPS Adaptive Interference Canceler Based on Modified Despreader

The Global Positioning System (GPS), which has various military and commercial applications, is designed to estimate the location of the specific user or object. In order to accurately estimate the location, GPS requires at least four satellite signals. The GPS receiver operates on extremely low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environment and it may suffer from various interference signals with the extremely high power. In this paper, we introduce a blind adaptive receiver based on the modified despreader, which suppress interference signals and detect GPS signals of interest without requiring explicit angle-of-arrival (AOA) information. We, also, provide the mathematical analysis for the signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) of the modified despeader beamformer output. A representative computer simulation example is presented to illustrate the interference suppression performance of the considered GPS receiver and mathematical analysis of the SINR.

This study is of elderly care facilities in Seoul oral health care providers survey of recognition and affecting factors. The subjects were selected 92 people who care providers, data were collected using a questionnaire. Multiple regression analysis, duration of carrer and experience of oral care education significantly affected in the presence of factors. As a result, in order to improve the oral health of the elderly nursing staff to promote oral health education and training programs are urgently needed.

There are many economical and industrial as well as social demands enabling smart management of railway vehicle including parts management by introducing RFID system in railway vehicle. In this paper, overseas researches and developments which use cases of RFID were investigated and analyzed. In this process, cases of various industries adopting RFID technology as well as cases of railway part were investigated. RFID system is used mainly for railway vehicle position detection and identification of vehicles in the field of railway. Also there are cases of application on traceability management of railway vehicle parts. The system in which RFID technology can be applied to railway parts management and traceability management is necessary for smart management of domestic railway vehicle.

It is throwing the spotlight on the cultivation crops about high quality crops and productivity improvement per unit area because of rapid climate change caused by global warming. Therefore, we propose a water culture management of circulation nutrient method control system applies to solar tracking method not using traditional method of deep flow technique and artificial light source. We design it in the form of the circulation nutrient method in waterway of a certain amount of nutrient solution and water flowed into the way of circular. In addition, we design a multistage structure in pyramid shape which be possible continuous photosynthesis action to crops of water culture bottom part. Also, solar tracking method is designed five sensor method of center hole sensor method for tracking shadow of solar light not using traditional two hole, four hole sensor method. Finally, through the water culture device applies to solar light tracking method was not introduced in existing study yet, we can reduce growth speed of crops which be possible continuous photosynthesis action to crops. Moreover, We can expect high productivity of per unit area which be possible all crops can be offered growth environment of same type by using form of pyramid shape of multistage structure without top or bottom part.
The Analysis of Skewed Armature Effect for Reduction of End Edge Cogging Force of Stationary Discontinuous Armature PMLSM

The permanent magnet linear synchronous motors facilitate maintenance, for it is structurally simple compare to rotating machine and has lots of advantage such as a precision control, high speed, high thrust and so on. However, it causes an increase of material cost because of structural characteristics that need to arranges the armature on the full length of transportation lines. Thus, in order to resolve this problem, we propose the discontinuous arrangement method of the armature but the edge always exists due to the structure when the armature is arranged discontinuously. Due to this edge, the cogging force is greatly generated and it causes thrust force ripple generating noise, vibration and decline of performance. Therefore, in this paper, we examined the characteristic of end edge according to the skew angle through 3-D numerical analysis using finite element method(FEM) and improved the operation characteristics.
Study on RFID Tag for Stabilization System in Metro

We have studied on the possibility of railway stability system using RFID tag. UHF RFID tag was desinged, manufactured and tested. Proposed UHF tag antenna has PIFA type structure and inset feed multi matching technique was attempted for impedance matching of antenna. The impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 3) of the proposed tag antenna covers 917~923 MHz. Measured peak gain is 3.225 dBi and UHF band with an omni-directional radiation pattern. RFID reader and tag installed in motor car and track, respectively. Then, tag recognition rate according to velocity of car (under 45 km/h) represented 100 %.
Design of a Reflector Mirror for Infrared Camera in the High Magnetic Field of Power System

Recently infrared cameras have been widely used to diagnosis degradation status of the power substitution system. At the place of high magnetic field, however, electronic parts of infrared camera take a place problem that is not reasonable working due to high magnetic field. To solve this problem, we may generally use reflector, it has a problem that the performance of reflection degrade caused by flexure of the reflector. In this paper, in order to overcome these problem, technique of design for reflector is proposed to reduce error and to increase measurement efficiency. The reflector is made by coating using aluminum on the acrylic sheet.
Current Status and Analysis of Domestic Security Monitoring Systems

The current status of domestic monitoring centers was reviewed and the pattern-based security monitoring system and the centralized security monitoring system, both of which are the characteristics of security monitoring systems, were analyzed together with their advantages and disadvantages. In addition, as for a development plan of domestic security monitoring systems, in order to improve the problems of the existing pattern-based centralized monitoring system, Honeynet and Darknet, which are based on anomalous behavior detection, were analyzed and their application plans were described.
Security Criteria for Design and Evaluation of Secure Plant Data Network on Nuclear Power Plants

Nuclear power plant data networks and their associated safety systems are being modernized to include many information technology (IT) networks and applications. Along with the advancement of plant data networks (PDN), instrumentation and control systems are being upgraded with modern digital, microprocessor-based systems. However, nuclear PDN is confronted significant side-effects, which PDN is exposed to prevalent cyber threats typically found in IT environments. Therefore, cyber security vulnerabilities and possibilities of cyber incidents are dramatically increased in nuclear PDN. Consequently, it should be designed fully ensuring the PDN meet all reliability, performance and security requirements in order to overcome the disadvantages raised from adaption of IT technology. In this paper, we provide technical security criteria should be used in design and evaluation of secure PDN. It is believed PDN, which is designed and operated along with these technical security critera, effectively protect against possible outside cyber threats.
