Survey and Analysis of Mobile B2B Demand
Kim, Chul-Whan ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 10, issue 2, 2005, Pages 1~19
Due to the phenomenal growth in mobile internet users, mobile business as a type of applications of mobile internet has attracted the related industries' and academic researchers' attentions. However, most researchers focus on the issues of Mobile B2C collecting survey questions from consumers or internet users. This paper points out that Mobile B2B has distinct service sector and analyzes the current trend and demand of Mobile B2B in Korea by collecting survey questionnaire from specialists in mobile industries and people in universities and research institutes. Survey fields include business, market, contents/application, research and development and legal system. According to the survey results, Mobile B2B business will rise in distribution, finance, sales, and logistics industries from the beginning of 2005 using wireless PDA and the important preconditions will be security, certification, and standardization.

An Enterprise Architecture (EA) Framework is a tool which supports implementation of the Enterprise architecture that is used to enhance the interoperability of the IT components. In this paper, we propose a framework named as ENAE (ENterprise Architecture Framework) which combines enterprise architecture unit (AU), reference model, and association relationship between domain model. Architecture Unit is defined as a minimum set of a business process and its associated components such as application system and technical components. An EA can be designed and implemented by the aggregating the related AUs including association relationship between Architecture Units. Because UML model has limitations to describe business domain semantics because it is designed for general purpose, we adapt the DSM (Domain Specific Modeling) concept. We describe association relationship between Architecture Units designed by Domain Specific Modeling through Topic Map. Session 2 describes related works about Enterprise Architecture frameworks, Domain Specific Modeling, and Topic Map, while Session 3 explains components of the ENAF. Finally Session 4 shows the case study for implementation of the new Framework called ENAF.

The web services concept is rising as a standard to integrate heterogeneous systems in distributed environment based on XML messaging. Recently, for that reason, many companies are trying to use web services for their B2C and B2B business. In order to successfully introduce the web services, it is required to guarantee a differentiated quality of web services. However, most of the current web services cannot provide differentiated policies for requested messages and the existing web servers cannot consider appropriately the quality factors of web services in the service level agreement between provider and consumer. In this paper, we analyzed appropriate quality factors of web services in application level and suggested priority allocation strategy for processes dealing with messages of web services using those factors. This strategy can allocate dynamically a priority to satisfy the service level agreement.
An Empirical Study on Factors Influencing the Learning Effects of E-Learning : The Case of E-Learning Service of 'P' Company

The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 10, issue 2, 2005, Pages 59~88
The recent development of IT, consolidation of communications and multimedia technology have brought enormous changes in many organizations. These changes are enabling the new educational environments such as distance learning and virtual education. Particularly e-Learning has grown rapidly in business training fields. In this regard, the primary purpose of this study is to investigate which factors of e-Learning influence education and training in business organizations through an empirical survey. The results show that most of hypotheses get significant support. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.
Design and Implementation of OTP Based Authentication Mechanism for Web Service
Song, You-Jin ; Lee, Dong-Hyeok ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 10, issue 2, 2005, Pages 89~108
The SOAP specifications are not provided a functions of information security, especially authentication function. In case of user authentication, delivery of the username and password elements can be exposed to sniffing/replay attack by malicious attacker. In this paper, we propose a new mechanism to protect authentication attacks for the SOAP messages. The proposed mechanism is compensated for weakness of S/KEY system. Our mechanism has no limitation for time and overhead and also provide a more effective and secure delivery.

With the flood of multimedia contents over the digital TV channels, the internet, and etc., users sometimes have a difficulty in finding their preferred contents, spend heavy surfing time to find them, and are even very likely to miss them while searching. In this paper we suggests two-step clustering technique using time schema on how the system can recommend the user's preferred contents based on the collaborative filtering that has been proved to be successful when new users appeared. This method maps and recommends users' profile according to the gender and age at the first step, and then recommends a probabilistic item clustering customers who choose the same item at the same time based on time schema at the second stage. In addition, this has improved the accuracy of predictions in recommendation and the efficiency in time calculation by reflecting feedbacks of the result of the recommender engine and dynamically update customers' preference.
An Empirical Study on the Utilization and Activation of Electronic Trade by Korean Middle and Small Firms
Park Ki-Nam ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 10, issue 2, 2005, Pages 133~150
Electronic Trade is dramatically changing classical international trade paradigms. In particular, under the new economic environment, the ability to utilize and Information Technologies such as Electronic Data Interchange, Web-based EDI, ebXML, web service, Internet are emerging as an important factor in deciding the competitiveness of export business. The primary purpose of this study is (1) to investigate motivation factors and performance factors of electronic trade, (2) to show the relationship between motivation factors and the level of the utilization of e-trade, (3) to reveal the relationship between the level of the utilization and performance factors of e-trade. Analysis of survey questionnaire of Korean middle and small companies indicates the following : (1) motivation factors such as cost factor, education and promotion and the search of new market, have positive effect on the level of utilization of e-trade. (2) the level of utilization of e-trade has positive effect on the performance factors such as cost factor, the search of new market, the improvement of task process.
