E-Machining of Engineering-to-Order Mold Park from e-Catalog

In the mold parts industry, customers typically place orders for order-made parts with some changes to the design specifications of ready-made parts within the extent of the manufacturing capability of the supplier. Being customized for ready-made parts, existing e-Catalog systems cannot support the above trade pattern. To solve this problem, an ETO (engineering-to-order) method is proposed here, enabling the trade of order-made parts in an e-Catalog system by utilizing the design and manufacturing knowledge of the part suppliers. After addressing technological challenges and solutions, we briefly describe application of the ETO method to two types of mold parts - ejector pins and mold bases.
Design of National Product Identifier and its Encoding based on RFID

As memory-extended RFID tags are recently developed, various types of item identification structures can be stored in the tags. In this paper, we propose a new national product identifier(NPI) which accepts not only ISO item identification standards but also the memory capacity of ISO tags. First of all, item identification structures of ISO/IEC 15459 and EPC, and memory structures of ISO/IEC 18000-6C and EPC tags are analyzed. Based on these analyses, the NPI currently used is analyzed and its problems are described from the viewpoint of standardization. To overcome the problems, a new NPI structure suitable for ISO/IEC 15459 is proposed. Finally, data related to the NPI is designed for encoding to tags.
The Influence of Website Charateristics on Customer Satisfaction, Customer Loyalty, and Repurchase Intention in Internet Shopping Malls

Researchers have continuously investigated the issues of customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and repurchase intention of customers in Internet shopping malls, a fast growing e-bisiness model in Korea. At present, most Internet shopping malls in Korea offer similar services to their customers. This has caused intense industry competition, and the Internet shopping malls have made significant investments into their websites in order to remain attractive to their customers. This research examines the relationships among website charateristics, customer satisfaction, loyalty, and repurchase intention. Website characteristics include context, commerce, connection, communication, contents, community, and customization. We have used data from a field study of 662 individuals to test the proposed model. The results of this research show that among the 7 website characteristics, context, communication, content, and commerce are the significant determinants of customer satisfaction. In turn, customer satisfaction increases customer loyalty and repurchase intention. These findings have important theoretical and practical implications, which are discussed in the paper.
A More Comprehensive Approach for Enhancing Business Process Efficiency

To survive in a global competition, many companies are trying to standardize and visualize Business Process (BP) by implementing Business Process Management (BPM). Recently, enhancing business process efficiency has become one of critical success factors. In this paper, we introduce a two-phase perspective of BP efficiency: Process Engine Perspective (PEP) and Task Performer Perspective (TPP). The former is related to allocation function of BP engine; it is mainly concerned with efficient task allocation to users. The latter phase influences efficiency depending on how users execute tasks assigned to them. Instead of considering each phase separately, we develop a comprehensive method considering the two-phase together, which is more effective for the BP efficiency. We carry out simulation experiment to show the combinational effect of the two phases.
A secure token-updated authentication scheme using security key

Recently, a large number of authentication schemes based on smart cards have been proposed, using the thinking of OTP (one-time password) to withstand replay attack. Unfortunately, if these schemes implement on PCs instead of smart cards, most of themcannot withstand impersonation attack and Stolen-Verifier attack since the data on PCs is easy to read and steal. In this paper, a secure authentication scheme based on a security key and a renewable token is proposed to implement on PCs. A comparison with other schemes demonstrates the proposed scheme has following merits: (1) Withstanding Stolen-Verifier attack (2) Withstanding Impersonation attack (3) Providing mutual authentication; (4) Easy to construct secure session keys.
Implementation of Rule Based Insurance Product Recommend and Design System using Fuzzy Inference

The rule based system is inference engine which can correspond quickly to new business model change and improvement requirement by dealing with the business know-how and expert knowledge as well as business process of enterprise and has been trying to apply to the various industries. As a part of application cases for rule-based system, we develop and implement the rule-based insurance product recommend and design system for the efficient decision making of insurance product in insurance industry which is sensitively affected by needs of customers, various kinds of product, and environment changes. The process of fuzzy inference of the developed system helps to recommend and design the proper Insurance product using the information of the present customer and the previous members. This approach is expected that it will be the core technology for the recommendation and design of the tailored insurance product by deciding and corresponding needs of various kinds of customer quickly in future insurance industry.
The Interoperability between RDF/OWL and Topic Maps using the Semantic Wiki

With the emergence of Semantic Web and Web 2.0, the paradigm shift of the Web is on resource-centered services. That is, the focus now moves from having just rich resources to the meta-information of describing the resources. The relevant standards, RDF(Resource Description Language) and Topic Maps, of describing the meta-information are defined and adopted by W3C and ISO respectively. Describing meta-information in such a XML form could be burdensome to participants. Semantic Wiki extended from 1)WikiWikiWeb is proposed to deal with the problem. It enables users to generate RDF meta-information about Wiki pages with simple usages of the grammar. We discuss the way of improving interoperability between Topic Maps-based semantic Wiki papges and RDF-based ones. The method proposed by RDFTM task force is present with the usage of high-level Wiki grammar for facilitating low-level transformation.
Personal Electronic Document Retrieval System Using Semantic Web/Ontology Technologies

There are many kinds of applications or software components to manage files in a local computer, but it is very difficult to organize personal documents in a consistent way and to search expected ones in a precise way. In this paper, we present our development of a document management and retrieval tool, which is named Ontalk. Our system provides a semi-automatic metadata generator and an ontology-based search engine for electronic documents. Ontalk can create and import various ontologies in RDFS or OWL for describing the metadata. Our system that is built upon.NET technology is easily communicated with or flexibly plugged into many different programs.
RBAC for multi-organizational Business Process Management

As the number of users who are involved in a business process increases, it becomes imperative to effectively control their privileges of accessing sensitive data and information which are usually easily obtained by BPM system. Traditional RBAC (Role-based Access Control) model was first introduced to provide a logical framework to prevent unauthorized users from obtaining confidential, but in more dynamic environment such as B2B and SCM process, it usually lacks in capability of addressing such issues as configurability, customizability, or scalability of user privileges. In this study, we have proposed a privilege-template based RBAC model that can address such issues effectively. We also provided a design of the RBAC model along with illustrative examples and pseudo codes that can be used for implementing a prototype system.
