Design and Implementation of a Markup Language for Exchanging Telematics Data

Telematics services are being widely used recently. However, data sharing is restricted because data representations among telematics severs and terminals are not yet standardized. Moreover, changes of some data items can cause the modification of telematics software. To resolve the problem, we define an XML-based markup language, called tele-XML, for the standard representation of telematics data, and design a framework and related schema for the tele-XML. We also implement API libraries and program modules for the processing of tele-XML documents. By using the proposed representation and processing scheme, the previous problem can be resolved.
The Effects of Digital Divide on Electronic Commerce Performance in Internet Shopping

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the digital divide is made in different digital divide patterns and also it influences on shopping value and purchase intention as individual e-commerce performance. The major findings of this study are as following: First, this study is focused on the average of the digital divide level regarding the sociodemographic characteristics. In the result, The average of each group is different in all digital divide patterns in age, education, and occupation. Second, in comparative influences of digital divide factors on shopping value and purchase intention, qualitative literacy divide are found to have a strong positive effect on shopping value and purchase intention.
Flow and Brand Equity on the Internet Auction

The topic on Flow is generating increased interests in e-commerce studies. Flow has been identified as a key component in e-commerce. Studies on Flow have so far focused on internet shopping mall, but scarcely looked at the Flow of Internet auction. The purpose of study is to find out which factors play a major role in building Flow on internet auction and how the built-up Flow affect Brand Equity. Therefore, the research model investigates what factors influence Flow. Furthermore, the research is designed to understand how the Flow influences Brand Equity. The antecedents of Flow classifies into three types such as personal (Challenge, Skill), IT characteristic, Internet Auction characteristic. The results of this empirical study shows that three characteristics significantly affected the flow：personal (Challenge), IT (information quality, system quality), and Internet Auction (interactivity). And also Flow has significant effect on the brand equity. This result indicates that customer's optimal experience is important to increase brand equity. That is, the flow is influenced by multi-dimensional factors and plays an important role in increasing brand equity. Finally, the finding of this study suggests that personal challenge, information quality, system quality, and interactivity should be enhanced preferentially.
A Study on Database Design and Implementation for Office Professionals

It is becoming more essential than ever for office professionals to become competent in information processing through fast response to the stimuli and needs coming from the current global business society which is controlled by the speed of improvement of information technology. Office professionals' success in business today depends on the level of job competency and the professional development that are required for problem solving in a global business environment. The main purpose of this research is to design a database for office professionals according to the recent result of DACUM job analysis for office administrators and implement a prototype with various kinds of services in five major categories such as human relationship management, event management, project management, special occasion management, and office knowledge management. The result of this study can be utilized to enhance the levels of both productivity and professionals.
A Web-based System for Real-time Monitoring of Dangerous Objects using RFID

Recently in the human society, the crime using small arms has increased. Also, many accidents happen because of incomplete management of chemicals and radiation. Accordingly, it is necessary to manage dangerous objects by tracing the position of dangerous objects and rapidly providing the correct information for them. This paper presents a web-based system for real-time monitoring of dangerous objects using RFID in order to overcome the limitations and problems of current dangerous objects management techniques. In this paper, we define the architecture for web-based dangerous objects monitoring system and the scheme for storing information of a dangerous object in the RFID tag. We also implement the web-based monitoring system and present the execution result of the system. The proposed real-time monitoring system is composed of the dangerous objects monitoring server which manages information of dangerous objects and controls them, the dangerous objects monitoring middleware which is mediator between dangerous objects and the server, the RFID reader which reads information of dangerous objects from RFID tags attached to the objects and the database which stores information, status and position of dangerous object. The proposed system manages diverse dangerous objects such as small arms, radiation and harmful chemicals based on the position of them using RFID, so the user can check dangerous objects when they are checked in and checked out and the user can acquire the real-time position information of them through the system. Furthermore, the user can visually monitor dangerous objects through web browser from any where and at any time because the system is web-based system and it provides graphical user interface.
A Study of Factors Influencing Ubiquitous Computing Service Acceptance

Developing various ubiquitous computing services (U-services) is being propelled throughout the industry. As U-services are being penetrated into our daily life, research on the factors influencing the acceptance of U-services is highly needed. In this line of study, we examined previous literatures about information technology acceptance and UTAUT model, and applied UTAUT model to U-service acceptance. To characterize the U-services into our research model, we newly introduced 'context based personalization' factor. Since the respondents could not directly experience the U-services yet, we adopted scenario-based questionnaire. For this, we deliberately developed U-service scenario. And then this U-service scenario is verified using capability-based assessment method. Using data collected from 251 respondents, this study found that 'context based personalization' factor was positively and significantly related to the acceptance of U-service as well as UTAUT model's 4 factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions.
A System for Analyzing Data Transmission Time in Ubiquitous Sensor Network

In a ubiquitous sensor network (USN) with several nodes, real-time data processing is one of important factors. In order to process data appropriately, all the nodes should transmit sensor data in time and the transmission between nodes and their server should be managed very systematically. For the purpose of systematic management of transmission in a USN, this paper proposes a system for analyzing transmission time of sensor data. To implement the proposed system, an analyzing process of data transmission time, an analyzing method of clock drift, a collecting method of data send/receive times, and calculating formulas of data transmission duration are proposed. According to the proposed process and methods, this paper presents a system for monitoring and analyzing data transmission duration, and it also shows the results of a sample case.
A Study on the Business Service Design in Ubiquitous Computing：the Case Study in Bookstore

In this study we designed the killer services for the scene of bookstore in ubiquitous computing. To achieve this study, we have explored the unmet needs of employees and users in bookstores and examined whether the unmet needs could be served by the resources and capabilities of ubiquitous computing. Then we have extracted detailed killer services that includes value propositions and resource map by using statistical methodology. Finally, the killer services were designed to serve employees and users in bookstores with the service architecture. The result of this study will be applied to develop new business model in ubiquitous computing as the basic research.
PROCL：A Process Log Clustering System

Process mining aims at extracting useful information from system log of business process execution. As process-aware information systems, such as BPMS, ERP, and SCM, spread, researches on process mining get more significance. In this paper, we propose the methodology of clustering process log before process mining and also present the prototype system. The proposed methodology can be used in accompany with the existing process mining algorithms to improve their performance. The process log clustering system PROCLE, presented in this paper, supports to classify the process instances in the system log in order to extract the appropriate level of process model according to the users' need. The proposed methodology was implemented on the open platform for process mining, ProM.
The Implementation of UWB and 60GHz Band Wireless Communication Technology for Wireless Home Network and Their Market Prospect

The demand of wireless communication system is increasing due to the development of computers and other digital media appliances. In particular, new wireless communication technology is necessary for implementation of home network since a lot of data transmission is occurred. Recently, two wireless communication technologies, Ultra Wide Band(UWB) and 60GHz band wireless communication technology, have being developed for high-speed data transmission and Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN). In this paper, we study the present development condition of these two technologies and a role of them in home network. We also suggest the method to implement the home network using all wireless communication technologies. At the end, we outlook the market of WPAN and High Definition Multimedia Interface(HDMI).
Ranked Web Service Retrieval by Keyword Search

The efficient discovery of services from a large scale collection of services has become an important issue[7, 24]. We studied a syntactic method for Web service discovery, rather than a semantic method. We regarded a service discovery as a retrieval problem on the proprietary XML formats, which were service descriptions in a registry DB. We modeled services and queries as probabilistic values and devised similarity-based retrieval techniques. The benefits of our way are follows. First, our system supports ranked service retrieval by keyword search. Second, we considers both of UDDI data and WSDL definitions of services amid query evaluation time. Last, our technique can be easily implemented on the off-theshelf DBMS and also utilize good features of DBMS maintenance.
