An Information Flow Security Based on Protected Area in eCommerce
Seo, Yang-Jin ; Han, Sang-Yong ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 1~16
Confidentiality is one of the most important requirements of information protection systems. The access control technique has been used to provide confidentiality, but it has fundamental problems in that it cannot prevent violations of confidentiality committed by authorized users. Information flow control is a technique introduced to resolve such problems, and many approaches based on programming languages have been proposed. However, it is not easy for a programmer to implement the technique at the source code level. Furthermore, the practicality of information flow control is difficult to demonstrate because it does not provide control over programs that have already been developed. This paper proposes a method that enables a practical information flow control through using a protected area, a separate part of computer system storage. Case studies are given to show its usefulness.

It becomes common thing that many customers buy the goods through the online shopping mall as internet grows very fast. The information cascades that happen when a person imitates the other's acts also it occurs in online. Many people buy the goods referring on other people's purchasing experiences and such cases are spreading more and more. Through numerous existing researches, the researches in association with this issue have been studied on the information cascades effect on offline or online separately. The research of comparing the information cascades effects from the offline word of mouth (WOM) and the online review has not studied yet. On that reason this study shows that the online review induces the information cascades. We also compared the effects with information cascades effects from traditional offline word of mouth. In result of this study, the following points have been concluded. Firstly, we examined that information cascades was occurred through both the online review and offline word of mouth. Secondly, the information cascades effect through the online review is greater than through the offline words of mouth. It means the company has to understand the importance of the online review and manage it. Thirdly, the information cascades effects are occurred differently in accordance with the goods brands. Therefore a company has to know whether its products is superior to the competitor's one or not.

You, Yen-Yoo ; Roh, Jae-Whak ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 61~87
This study is based on the analysis of technology innovation performance for Inno-biz. The primary purposes of this study are to help the government formulate Inno-biz related supporting policies and improve the fitness of evaluation models for Inno-biz. In this study the definition of "the outcome of technology innovation" includes technology competitiveness changes, technology forecasting as well as the outcome of technology innovation. For this analysis, 55 independent variables were used and categorized into ability of technology innovation, ability of commercialization, and ability of technology management. The results indicate that all three variable groups have positively influenced the outcome of technology innovation. Especially ability of technology innovation is highly related to technology competitiveness and business in future. The ability of commercialization enhances technology competitiveness and predictability in major business indexes; however it doesn't influence business performance in a short-term period. The ability of technology management enables businesses to forecast technology changes, but doesn't effect short-term business outcomes.

The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 89~101
In some industries, manufacturing firms' distinctive competences include not only product superiority but also service excellence. For example, in a highly volatile and dynamic market, flexibility and responsiveness are more valued than just the product cost. And sales order processing, in that respect is a very important process. However, previous studies on sale order processing have considered only due-date assignments or dealt with production scheduling to minimize production cost or delivery lead time. Due to recent advances in information technology, a new approach is possible in dealing with sales order processing. For example, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) and ubiquitous computing technology adds real time visibility and traceability to supply chain. In this study, we develop a new due-date re-negotiation process for sales order management and propose a new business integration model to support the re-negotiation process based on RFID, ubiquitous computing technology and RosettaNet's PIPs.

Since the development of the concept and the technology of the Web 2.0, the users of Social Network Service (SNS) such as Facebook, MySpace, Youtube, Twitter, etc., have been increasing. In this study, we researched into the Social Capital formed by using SNS based on "Social Capital Theory." We constructed the survey to obtain the demographical information of the users, motive of using the SNS and the evaluation of the On-line Social Capital. The survey was aimed for the Korean and the Chinese. In addition, a multi-regression analysis was performed to explain the relationship between the function of Social Network Service and the Online Social Capital. The result of this study, presents a relationship between the Online Social Capital form and function of Social Network Service users. Therefore, the information obtained in this study can be applied when developing the service.
A Method of Economic Analysis for RFID Applications Focused on Courier Sector
Koo, Hoon-Young ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 119~137
The absence of a concrete method for economic analysis is one of the main reasons that the RFID is not so widespread. Through literature survey and a case study of a courier service company we propose a novel method of economic justification including cost and benefit analysis. In order to reflect the uncertainties caused by the RFID technology itself and the estimated investment cost, we propose optimistic, conservative and pessimistic estimations of benefits and a sensitivity analysis of investment costs. This paper may contribute the systematic evaluation of cost and benefit of RFID adoption.

Jung, Ji-Whan ; Jung, Jae-Yoon ; Shin, Dong-Min ; Kim, Sang-Kuk ;
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 157~171
To effectively maintain manufacturing collaboration, the development of effective performance measurements for the collaboration is required. Most existing key performance indicators however were developed to measure the performances of internal activities or outsourcing of a company. For that reason, it is necessary to devise new key performance indicators that the partners participating in the collaboration can arrange and compromise with each other to reflect their common goals. In this paper, we propose collaborative Key Performance Indicators(cKPIs), which is used to measure the collaboration work of multiple manufacturing partners on the basis of the Supply Chain Operations Reference(SCOR) model. Also, a modified Sigmoid function is devised as a desirability function to reflect the characteristics of Service Level Agreement(SLA) between two partners. The proposed indicators and the desirability functions can be utilized to perform and maintain the successful collaboration by providing a way to the quantitative measurement.
