Composition and Policy Direction of Compensation Insurance Against Customer Information Infringements in Financial Transactions

Personal information is a requisite for financial transactions as well as a core asset of financial companies. However, as a side effect of the information society, personal information infringements have emerged as significant social risks, causing realized loss to individuals and companies. This study analyzes results of financial and emotional loss in terms of consumer loss and also presents usefulness of insurance in order to minimize such actual damages as a means of risk transfer. In addition, this study investigates components and premium calculation principles of compensation insurance against personal information invasion and finally presents policies to activate these insurance product. As a method of risk management, insurance not only is a useful tool to guarantee consumer protection and companies` financial soundness simultaneously but also provides a basis of quantitative measurement of IT risks.
A Study on Job Satisfaction of Smart Work Worker and Smart Work Continued Usage

Development of smart devices and the network of the company change the way of working. `Smart work` is a type of work method expected to handle business regardless of the time and space. Therefore, `Smart Work` is being introduced and gradually expanded in variety of companies. However, despite this popularity its effect is under question. This article reports on the effect of `Smart Work` through literature review and analyzed the relationship among the worker`s job satisfaction, smart work continued usage. The results of this study are expected to help companies to establish strategies connected with `Smart Work.`
A Pilot Study on Applying Text Mining Tools to Analyzing Steel Industry Trends : A Case Study of the Steel Industry for the Company "P"

It becomes more and more important for business survival to have the ability to predict the future with uncertainties increasing faster and faster. To predict the future, text mining tools are one of the main candidate other than traditional quantitative analyses, but those efforts are still at their infancy. This paper is to introduce one of those efforts using the case of company "P" in the steel industry. Even with only four month pilot studies, we found strong possibilities, if not testified robustly, to predict future industrial trends using text mining tools. For these text mining case studies, we categorized steel industry trend keywords into ten components (10 categories) to study ten different subjects for each category. Once found any meaningful changes in a trend, we had investigated in more detail what and how some trend happened so. To be more roust, firstly we need to define more cleary the purpose of text mining analyses. Then we need to categorize industry trend key words in a more systematic way using systems thinking models. With these improvements, we are quite sure that applying text mining tools to analyzing industry trends will contribute to predicting the future industry trends as well as to identifying the unseen trends otherwise.
Analyzing the Privacy Leakage Prevention Behavior of Internet Users Based on Risk Perception and Efficacy Beliefs : Using Risk Perception Attitude Framework

Although many studies have focused on the influences and outcomes of personal information leakage, few studies have investigated how the personal information leakage prevention behavior differs depending on internet user. This study attempts to supplement the existing studies` limitations with the use of risk perception attitude (RPA) framework. More specifically, this study tries to show internet user can be classified into four groups based on perceived risk of personal information leakage and efficacy beliefs of personal information protection, and to identify how the groups differ in terms of motivation, information seeking, and behaviors for privacy leakage prevention. Analysis on survey data from 276 internet users reveals that the users can be classified into responsive, avoidance, proactive, indifference groups. Furthermore, there are differences between groups in terms of motivation, information seeking, and behaviors for personal information leakage prevention. This study contributes to expand existing literature by providing tailored guidelines for implementation of personal information protection strategies and policy.
Benchmarking the Regional Patients Using DEA : Focused on A Oriental Medicine Hospital

This study purposed to benchmark the number of patients who visited an oriental medicine hospital from its surrounding regions using data envelopment analysis (DEA) model, and to analyze the relationships between regional characteristics and efficiency scores from DEA. Study data was collected from one oriental medicine hospital operated in a metropolitan city in Korea. Patient locations were identified at the smallest administrative district, Dong, and number of patients was calculated at the Dong level based on the address of patients in hospital information system. Socio-demographic variables of each Dong were identified from the Statistics of Korea web-sites. DEA was used to benchmark the number of patients between Dongs and to compute the efficiency scores. Tobit regression analysis model was applied to analyze the relationship between efficiency scores and regional variables. 6 Dongs were identified as efficient after DEA. In Tobit analysis, number of medical aid recipients and number of total population in each Dong was significant in explaining the differences of efficiency scores. The study model introduced the application of DEA model in benchmarking the patients between regions. It can be applied to identify the number of patients in each region which a hospital needs to improve their performances.
A Semantic Text Model with Wikipedia-based Concept Space

Current text mining techniques suffer from the problem that the conventional text representation models cannot express the semantic or conceptual information for the textual documents written with natural languages. The conventional text models represent the textual documents as bag of words, which include vector space model, Boolean model, statistical model, and tensor space model. These models express documents only with the term literals for indexing and the frequency-based weights for their corresponding terms; that is, they ignore semantical information, sequential order information, and structural information of terms. Most of the text mining techniques have been developed assuming that the given documents are represented as `bag-of-words` based text models. However, currently, confronting the big data era, a new paradigm of text representation model is required which can analyse huge amounts of textual documents more precisely. Our text model regards the `concept` as an independent space equated with the `term` and `document` spaces used in the vector space model, and it expresses the relatedness among the three spaces. To develop the concept space, we use Wikipedia data, each of which defines a single concept. Consequently, a document collection is represented as a 3-order tensor with semantic information, and then the proposed model is called text cuboid model in our paper. Through experiments using the popular 20NewsGroup document corpus, we prove the superiority of the proposed text model in terms of document clustering and concept clustering.
Utilization of Demographic Analysis with IMDB User Ratings on the Recommendation of Movies

Nowadays, overflowing data produced every second from the internet make people to be difficult to search for the useful information. That`s why people have invented and developed unique tools that they get some relevant information. In this paper, the recommender system, one of the effective tools, is used and it helps us to get the useful information that we want by using demographic information to predict new items of interest. The demographic recommender system in this paper computes users` similarity using demographic information, age and gender. So we performed demographic analysis on movie ratings on Internet Movie Database (IMDB) web site that movies are rated by thousands of people, where users submitted a movie rating after they watched a recent popular film. Meanwhile, we can understand that user`s ratings, among various determinants of box office, is very essential factor in the study on recommendation of movie. This paper is aimed at analyzing movie average ratings directly given by film viewers, categorizing them into groups by sex and age, investigating the entire group and finding the representative group by examining it with F-test and T-test. This result is used to promote and recommend for the target group only. Therefore, this study is considerably significant as presenting utilization for movie business as well as showing how to analyze demographic information on movie ratings on the web.
A Study of Price Adjustments of Online Sellers

Making decisions on prices must be an important task for sellers to stay competitive in on-line markets. Because the emergence of price-comparison web sites led buyers to be more sensitive to the prices, adjusting prices became very important to on-line sellers. This study collected and analyzed the data of prices on computing peripheral devices posted at a popular web site that enabled buyers to compare the prices on the same products. By analyzing the timings of price adjustments among different sellers using Monte Carlo simulation, we explored the possibility of price coordinations among those sellers. The results indicated that online sellers adjusted their prices on a daily basis rather than a weekly basis and the tacit coordination on the price changes was identified.
