A Repository for Workflow Management on Distributed Object Environment

Workflow management system provides automation of job processes by maintaining shareability on information about various job process schedules and persons related to those schedules. Existing workflow management systems use file or database to store the information generated in those systems. However, file or database system could manage only non-complicated information for the workflow but not the information resources of an enterprise which is complicated and of various formats. Therefore, we need a data management system that could control those information resources. This system should manage the data which are distributed at several places geographically. Information Repository could meet those requirements. Information Repository may integrate, store and manage information resources requested by application systems. We have an international standard for the information repository, Information Resources Dictionary System(IRDS). The IRDS, however, does not support distributed environment. In this paper, we design and implement an information repository based on IRDS that may be operated in distributed environment. We verify that this information repository is more effective and is more effective than any other file or database system.
A Data Mining Technique for Customer Behavior Association Analysis in Cyber Shopping Malls

Using user monitoring techniques on web, marketing decision makers in cyber shopping malls can gather customer behavior data as well as sales transaction data and customer profiles. In this paper, we present a marketing rule extraction technique for customer behavior analysis in cyber shopping malls, The technique is an application of market basket analysis which is a representative data mining technique for extracting association rules. The market basket analysis technique is applied on a customer behavior log table, which provide association rules about web pages in a cyber shopping mall. The extracted association rules can be used for mall layout design, product packaging, web page link design, and product recommendation. A prototype cyber shopping mall with customer monitoring features and a customer behavior analysis algorithm is implemented using Java Web Server, Servlet, JDBC(Java Database Connectivity), and relational database on windows NT.
An implementation methodology for CALS/EC system using IDEF0 and conceptual design in logistics industry

In this paper, we suggest the system analysis method that links IDEF0 and conceptual analysis. Based on the method, we propose the implementation methodology that can be used to build CALS/EC systems in logistics industry. This paper presents data characteristic derived using ICAM DEFinition(IDEF0) and conceptual data modeling. Modeling methodology has been widely used for analysis and design of an enterprise information system. Further IDEF has been considered appropriate for developing functional and database models for the logistics environment.
Implementation of Subcontract Management System Using Intranet

In this paper, we present implemetnations of subcontract management system using intranet. Subcontract management is including the support functions such as process control, official documents exchange, and transmission of subcontract management policy carried out by a big companys subcontract management department. By the use of the developed system, both big company and subcontract company are expected to have benefits from a consistent management of information and a strong access function through the internet. Also, it will reduce time lag ocurred a legacy management between two companies in the past.
Design of Merchant Server for Small.Medium Electronic Commerce

Inspired by the growth of the Internet, electronic commerce(EC) has grown rapidly over the last few years and has become a major Internet application domain. EC encompasses various profit-oriented activities such as purchase of goods and services over the network, banking, and business-to-business trade. The purpose of this research is to develop an electronic commerce merchant server for the small and medium size business. The proposed solution is designed to meet a cheap, simple, extensible, and interoperable requirement. Also, our solution supports one-to-one marketing concept by using matching technology. We expect that our solution makes the small and medium size EC market more easily.
A Construction and Operation Analysis of Group Management Network about Control Devices based on CIM Level 3

To operate the automatic devices of manufacturing process more effectively and to solve the needs of the resource sharing, network technology is applied to the control devices located in common manufacturing zone and operated by connecting them. In this paper, functional standard of the network layers are set as physical and data link layer of IEEE 802.2, 802.4, and VMD application layer and ISO-CIM reference model. Then, they are divided as minimized architecture, designed as group objects which perform group management and service objects which organizes and operates the group. For the stability in this network, this paper measures the variation of data packet length and node number and analyzes the variated value of the waiting time for the network operation. For the method of the analysis, non-exhausted service method are selected, and the arrival rates of the each data packet to the nodes that are assumed to form a Poission distribution. Then, queue model is set as M/G/1, and the analysis equation for waiting time is found. For the evalution of the performance, the length of the data packet varies from 10 bytes to 100 bytes in the operation of the group management network, the variation of the wating time is less than 10 msec. Since the waiting time in this case is less than 10 msec, response time is fast enough. Furthermore, to evaluate the real time processing of the group management network, it shows if the number of nodes is less than 40, and the average arrival time is less than 40 packet/sec, it can perform stable operation even taking the overhead such as software delay time, indicated packet service, and transmissin safety margin.
Danger Element Analysis and Protocol Design of Electronic Cash Payment System

The electronic cash, an electronic equivalent of the real paper money, has been recently proposed as one of the various payment methods for electronic commerce. In this paper, we design an electronic cash payment system based on a new electronic cash payment protocol that can effectively provide full anonymity and avoid double-spending. The protocol is suitable for use as the electronic cash control or electronic cash database. The protocol support also security and electronic cash property.
A Study on CIO Leadership in Korean Firms and Public Sector

As information technology becomes an increasingly intrinsic part of business operations and it's use has grown more widespread and ingrained, the demand for study on the CIO's leadership increases.. This study was accomplished to analyze the effect that CIO's transformational and transactional leadership have on leadership performance in pursuit of the ideal leadership required of CIO. The study results reveal the followings. First, CIO's transformational. transactional, and laissez faire leadership is statistically related with leadership performance. Especially, the transformational leadership was more correlated with leadership performance than transactional leadership. Second, leadership performance both of transformational leader and transactional leader was higher than than of laissez faire leader. But leadership performance between transformational leadership and transactional leadership was not statistically significant. Third, many CIOs turn out to possess both transformational and transactional leader's trait, and therefore, the subjects were categorized into the three groups such as: purely transformational leaders, purely transactional leaders, and transformational-transactional leaders. The result shows that leadership performance was high in order of transformational-transactional leader, purely transformational leader, and purely transactional leader. It reveals that leaders possessing both transformational and transactional leadership were more acceptable than the others to the subordinates.
Workflow Design on Product Data Management System Using Object-Oriented Modeling Technique

The challenge is to maximize the time-to-market benefits of concurrent engineering while maintaining control of data and distributing it automatically to the people who need it when they need it. The way PDM systems cope with this challenge is that master data is held only once in a secure vault where its integrity can be assured and all changes to it monitored, controlled and recorded. The structure of PDM is various from vendor, but they have common module. That is PDM and it is most important. The goal is to design the workflow in PDM using object-oriented modeling method. The past methods have concentrated on the flow between workflow engine and agent, but this paper will focus on task. We will model task as individual object. This paper uses OMT(Object Modeling Technique) by James Rumbaugh for base modeling tool and uses DCOM(Distributed Component Object Model) for base ORB(Object Request Broker). Research object is to design the static object model, to design state change by dynamic model and to design data transition by functional model.
