A Filed Survey of Web Services Usage and Proposition of Activation Guideline
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 1~22
Web Services are rapidly gaining attention as the service oriented distributed computing paradigm over the Internet. Web services are currently highlighted not only due to its role as an enterprise application integrator, but also as the method of mediating inter-enterprise collaborative works. This research analyzes, categorizes, and provides current status and forecasting of core technology and standardization issues concerning web services. The results of this research could be used as the base information for understanding and establishing strategies concerning the fundamental technologies of web services. Also, the demand and status of domestic markets of web services are thoroughly analyzed. Based on this analysis, guidelines for the adaptation of web services by the government and domestic enterprises are presented. The results of this research provides appropriate alternatives to domestic enterprises by evaluating web service technology trends, and further on provides methods of web services market activation on a national scale
Design of Advanced HITS Algorithm by Suitability for Importance-Evaluation of Web-Documents
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 23~31
Link-based search engines generate the rank using linked information of related web-documents . HITS(Hypertext Internet Topic Search), representative ranking evaluation algorithm using a special feature of web-documents based on such link, evaluates the importance degree of related pages from linked information and presents by ranking information. Problem of such HITS algorithm only is considered the link frequency within documents and depends on the set of web documents as input value. In this paper, we design the search agent based on better HITS algorithm according to advanced suitability between query and search-result in the set of given documents from link-based web search engine. It then complements locality of advanced search performance and result.
Design and Implementation of Resources Management System for Extension of outside Data Space in Mobile Device
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 33~48
Wireless Internet, created through the merging of mobile communication with Internet technology, provides the advantage of mobility, but the restrictions of the mobile environment are deterring it from growing into a mass public service. Of the restricting factors of the wireless environment, narrow memory space creates the disadvantage of not being able to manage resources in mobile devices efficiently Because there is a limit to obtaining sufficient memory space from hardware made with consideration of portability, future devices will need to have a platform design with storage area extended from internal storage to external storage space. In this paper, we present a mobile agent that extends the memory space from only the inside of a mobile device to an external server making it possible to use data by on-line Run-time, and can also manage internal files efficiently. We have designed and implemented a RMS(Resources Management System) as a realization. Devices using the proposed RMS will be able to apply extended processes with the 'Mobile Space Extension' and will be benefited with optimal memory space through efficient internal file management.
Building Ontology and Applications for Architectural Terminologies
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 49~62
Along with the national and international movements to realize the electronic commerce, large amount of architectural information has been converted into digital format and stored in database systems. However the access and utilization of the information is not effective enough. It is because different terminologies are often used for describing the same object in architectural engineering. Furthermore the relationship among related objects is not captured effectively in the databases. In this paper, we utilize the relationship among architectural terminologies in order to search architectural drawings effectively. The relationship is saved in a ontology database and a prototype of search system that utilizes the relationship is presented in this paper.
The design of Intelligent and Integrated Registries System for e-Business
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 63~76
The fundamental technology to the b2b e-commerce framework is Registry. Although Registries have developed, it is yet difficult to apply in actual e-business . That is, the e-business information was stored in physically and/or logically distributed and heterogeneous Registries. And Registry uses the keyword-based search to discovery the information stored. But, the keyword-based search technology can't provide the discovery the business information necessary for parties and trading partners. As spreading the understand of this problem, it requires the technologies for the integration of distributed and various Registries and the systematic definition and intelligent discovery of the e-business information. In this paper we propose the architecture of intelligent and integrated e-business registry system for solving these problems . This system composed of the Registry Integration Query Manager for integrating various registries and the Intelligent Registry Agent providing the systematic organization and discovery of e-business information.
A Form Clustering Algorithm for Web-based Application Reengineering
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 77~98
A web-based information system, that is a dominant type of information systems, suffers from the "web crisis" in development and maintenance of the system. To cope with the problem, a technology of software clustering to web-based application, which is one of web engineering, is strongly needed. In this paper, we propose a Form Clustering Algorithm along with an application example, which are used for internal-system reengineering to web-based information system. A Form Clustering Algorithm focuses on Page-model which is the feature of the web among the various web-based information system's structural model. Specially, we applying distance matrix to navigation model of graph form for easily analyzing, and web log analysis for identifying core function object that have a highly loading. Also, we create web software structure that can be used to maximize reusability and assign hardware effectively through 2-phase clustering step. Form Clustering Algorithm might be used at web-based information system development and maintenance for reusable web component development and hardware assignment, respectively.
A Study on Mapping Relations between eBook Contents for Conversion
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 99~111
By virtue of diverse advantages derived from digital media, eBook is getting started to use. And many market research agencies have predicted that its market will be greatly expanded soon. But against those expectations, copyright-related problems and the difficulties of its accessing inherited from various eBook content formats become an obstacle to its diffusion. The first problems can be solved by DRM technology. And to solve the second problems, each nation has published its own content standard format. But the domestic standards are useful only the domestic level, they still leave the problems in the national level. The variety of content formats has created a demand for mechanisms that allow the exchange of eBook contents. Therefore we study the mapping relations between eBook contents for conversion. To define the mapping relations, first we extract the mapping both between eBook contents and between normal XML documents. From those mappings, we define seven mapping relations and classify them by cardinality. And we analyze the classified relations, which can be generated by automatic, or not. Using these results, we also classify the eBook content conversion as automatic, semi-automatic, and manual. Besides, we provide the conversion templates for mapping relations for automatic generation of conversion scripts. To show the feasibility of conversion templates, we apply them to the eBook content conversion. Experiment shows that our conversion templates generate the conversion scripts properly. We expected that defined mapping relations and conversion templates can be used not only in eBook content conversion , but also in normal XML document conversion.
A Metric of Component Extraction for Package based Object Oriented Codes
The Journal of Society for e-Business Studies, volume 8, issue 2, 2003, Pages 113~129
Component-based software development (CBSD) has been recognized effective reuse techniques for software development by many of researchers and companies. The purpose of CBSD is to produce a high quality software system quickly through using verified software component which is contained fine-grained business logics. This paper suggests the metrics and techniques for to extract component and its interface from legacy object oriented application. For extract component, we apply metrics to measure complexity, cohesion and coupling to the legacy system.
