A Study on Fitness of ERP template Standardization Methodology for Medium and Small-sized Enterprises

ERP implementations are known to be unusually difficult, even when compared to other large-scale systems developing in a firm level, because it requires a substantial investment of time, money, and internal resources. Moreover, medium and small-sized enterprises that are increasingly adopting ERP feel much difficult due to the lack of resources. To promote the spread of ERP in medium and small-sized enterprises, "ERP template standardization methodology" led by government has been used for constructing ERP system in Korea. In this study, we present a study to measure fitness between ERP standard templates and business processes of 10 small enterprises in 5 industries. Also, we define a fitness measure suitable for this purpose. We car find that ERP template standardization methodology is partly adequate to establish ERP systems and it is required to add to templates which support the differences of business process.
A Study of the Trust and Governance Effect on Business-to- Business Electronic Commerce Systems Implementation Level

A organization confront new information systems and technologies , they often force to make very expensive decisions on the basis of little information about the product's benefits and potential acceptance within the organization. This paper identifies trust and governance factors influencing the implementation of business-to-business electronic commerce systems. The result support between information technology governance and governance in value chain and business-to-business electronic commerce systems implementation, but there is no evidence that trust enabled implementing business-to-business electronic commerce systems.
The Effects of User Involvement on Internet Ad Preference Based on Presentation Type and Content

The primary objectives of this study were, using data from Internet users in Korea, to determine users' preference of banner ad through two ad properties; ad presentation type (text vs. image) and ad content (product information vs. prize information) by incorporating the level of involvement into research design. Using within-group experimental design by means of subjects' web-based participation in the study, the study result showed that image-based banner ad was significantly preferred to text-based banner ad. It was found that the level of ad involvement had a significant impact on the preference of banner ads. Also it was found that image-based banner ad had a greater effect on ad preference than text-based banner ad in low involvement situation only, Finally, image-based banner ad was consistently preferred to text-based banner ad regardless of involvement level when the banner ad was product oriented. The study findings suggest that adoption decisions regarding banner ad presentation type and banner ad content should be based on the knowledge of both the level of consumer's ad involvement and the interactive effects between ad presentation and ad content.
A Study on e-Commerce of custom machined Parts with a Data Exchanged format based on XML

Currently, it is possible to buy almost anything from books(Amazon.com) to airplane tickets(Travelocity.com) using the world wide web. The purpose of this research is to develop a "clean interface" between design and fabrication facilities for the production of custom machined parts through Internet. The current mechanism for production of prototype parts that can be fabricated using standard machine tools like milling machines, requires a process of part description preparation, bidding, contract award, and finally fabrication and delivery of the part. This is a substantially more complex process than buying a book or airplane ticket. In this paper, we try to define the ambiguous part description using XML based data exchange format and to enable e-commerce in this field. The research accomplishments are summarized: 1. Creation of a new format for data exchange of machined prototype parts, 2. Development of a prototype system to illustrate how the XML data can be effectively used to conduct e-Commerce for custom machined parts, 3. Testing of the methodology with a number of parts.
Partial Dimensional Clustering based on Projection Filtering in High Dimensional Data Space

In high dimensional data, most of clustering algorithms tend to degrade the performance rapidly because of nature of sparsity and amount of noise. Recently, partial dimensional clustering algorithms have been studied, which have good performance in clustering. These algorithms select the dimensional data closely related to clustering but discard the dimensional data which are not directly related to clustering in entire dimensional data. However, the traditional algorithms have some problems. At first, the algorithms employ grid based techniques but the large amount of grids make worse the performance of algorithm in terms of computational time and memory space. Secondly, the algorithms explore dimensions related to clustering using k-medoid but it is very difficult to determine the best quality of k-medoids in large amount of high dimensional data. In this paper, we propose an efficient partial dimensional clustering algorithm which is called CLIP. CLIP explores dense regions for cluster on a certain dimension. Then, the algorithm probes dense regions on a next dimension. dependent on the dense regions of the explored dimension using incremental projection. CLIP repeats these probing work in all dimensions. Clustering by Incremental projection can prune the search space largely and reduce the computational time considerably. We evaluate the performance(efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy, etc.) of the proposed algorithm compared with other algorithms using common synthetic data.
Development of the Purchase Process Reference Model for the Domestic Application of RosettaNet

In this paper, we propose a reference model suitable for domestic situations. analyzing whether purchase processes suggested by RosettaNet can be applied to domestic industry First of all, implementation cases applied to purchase processes in the world are investigated. Second, purchase processes of a domestic manufacturer are analyzed for the RosettaNet standard application, and the processes are compared with PIP. Finally, new purchase processes and corresponding PIP documents which reflect domestic situations are proposed.
Extension of Service Description in a Semantic Web Language

A Semantic Web based service description is to enable intelligent matchmaking of services by improving representational flexibility and expressiveness in service description for Web Services. Flexibility concerns the way of how a computer handles the discrepancies in the granularity and the structure of service description between different participants of web services. Expressiveness means richness in the semantic description of services (or ontological representation of each service as a concept). The main shortcoming of currently available industry standard framework for e-commerce such as UDDI and ebXML is that they do not allow much flexibility and expressiveness in the service description. In our research we analyze the requirements of extending service description based on the Semantic Web, especially in the context of DAML-S. We also propose a method to be applied to implement intelligent web services by implementing a virtual auction site, testAuction.com. Finally, we consider some theoretical issues regarding the framework for web services using ontology.
Mobile Commerce Success Factors: A Value-Focused Analysis

Explosive growth of mobile devices over the past years has greatly increased commercial interests in mobile commerce, but mobile commerce has not yet seen enough increase on demand side as anticipated. Despite the slow start, mobile commerce has a lot of potential from users' perspective. In order to make this potential a reality, businesses must focus on the values from their customers' perspective, not technical competencies. This research employed Keeney's(1992) value focused thinking approach and explore values of mobile commerce from actual users' viewpoint. In depth interviews were conducted with seventy Practical users of mobile commerce. Through an extensive focus group sessions, 748 statements obtained from actual users were classified into 18 categories of means objectives and 12 categories of fundamental objectives of mobile commerce. The means-ends network diagram of values seen in mobile commerce by actual users were presented and compared to typical electronic commerce diagram. Results suggest the mobile commerce needs to be handled differently from the traditional electronic commerce.
A Study of Integrating Ontologies of Heterogeneous Product Classification Schemes Using XML Topic Maps(XTM)

The Topic Maps paradigm allows people and organizations to integrate and merge heterogeneous products classification systems such as UNSPSC and HS. Merging their product ontologies could combine information about classification scheme for products. We analyzed two product classification schemes for UML modeling and developed an integrated TM for watches . Examples in XTM syntax show how UNSPSC and HS can be integrated by merging their ontology.
SDRM: The Design and Analysis of Secure DRM Systems Based on PKI using Steganography

The contents for multimedia are very activated along to revolution of Internet. So this fact allows the contents for multimedia to be commercialized. These contents , however, included much vulnerability that it is difficult to be commercialized because attackers easily reproduce that. Many developers want to use watermarking method as the technique to protect the contents for multimedia, but it is very vulnerable to use only one method. This paper proposes the Secure DRM system which protects the contents for multimedia using Public Key Infrastructure and steganography methods. The SDRM system is more powerful than general DRM systems in that it has the special feature of watermarking and steganography techniques. We can prevent the attackers from reproducing and stealing the contents illegally, and authenticating users through SDRM systems.
A Study on the Semantic Web enabled Knowledge Management System Architecture

There have been various attempts of Knowledge Management System in order to effectively support Knowledge Process and to manage a wide variety of unstructured knowledge. However, Knowledge Management System basically has some significant weakness for searching knowledge, extracting information and maintenance, and some difficulties to integrate such various knowledge resources. Several studies had been conducted to overcome these weaknesses and to improve the method of knowledge management. The purpose of this study is 1) to examine the effectiveness of Semantic Web Technology that has a great attention lately; whether it is useful to overcome the weaknesses, and 2) to review its strong points and some future uses. Further, differences of Semantic Web Technology compared to existing Knowledge Management System Architecture are reviewed. Finally, a new Semantic Web Enabled KMS Architecture is proposed. Also some prospects for future market direction are suggested.
Platform Development toy Systematic Support of Design Collaboration between SMEs

Most commercially available collaboration support systems are not proper for small enterprises in a specific area such as small e-design companies, because they are focused on general functionalities, required by most large enterprises. In this paper, we analyze the requirements for improving communication environments of small e-design companies, and propose an advanced communication management tool which reflects those requirements. The communication platform focuses the acknowledgement process by customer and the schedule sharing and management between project members. The proposed system suggest a new research direction which supports the systematic collaboration with external entities such as customers rather than the unsystematic collaboration between internal members, and improves the communication environment of those small e-design companies that are desperately in need of a cost-effective way to carry out projects, and will help in the process of successful projects.
Enterprise Architecture Framework For the Government Document Distribution Center

This paper presents GDOCF(Government Document Enterprise Architecture Framework) based on the direction of EA(Enterprise Architecture) framework to build GDOCEA. The construction of EA for GDOC offered various types of information technology Platform which advanced the interoperability between Government Information Systems. In addition, it insured the interoperability between the e-Government Initiatives and helped a consistent management for information resource. As a result, MOGAHA could support a policy decision and capital investment plan for information. Also, all the information needed for the operation and management of GDOC has been being referenced, shared and utilized as EA repository. Eventually Pilot EA would be a corner stone to build EA master plan considering all the information systems in MOGAHA.
A USE CASE based Test Model for CBD Based Software

High quality software is the one that has an excellent performance with a low price, consumer's request satisfaction and less bug. In addition, it should have structure easily maintainable. CBD(Component Based Development)technology is getting more popular as a method for software development which can satisfy all above conditions. Although there are a lot of test methods about component for composition, function, compatibility and reliability, it's not enough to ensure that the component has reliability, maintainability, and reusability, so an integated method are necessary. In this paper, we are going to propose the solution model for integrating components, which are based on UML (Unified Modeling Language) technologies. This model can extract existing faults in the component interfaces by referencing sequence diagram and collaboration diagram.
