Extraction method of spatial relation by analyzing location tag in folksonomy

As the semantic web receives higher concern with an intensified necessity in these days, the research on the ontology as its core technology has been carried out in various fields. The ontology has been adopted as an alternative to work out lots of problematic issues resulted from the insufficient vocabulary selection rules in folksonomy, widely accepted under Web 2.0. Therefore the importance of research to complementarily consolidate the two disciplines, the folksonomy and the ontology, has been increased. Based on this idea this research proposes a system, which pulls out, using open services, the location information tags from folksonomy-based metadata, ultimately extracts, following location information analyses, spatial relationships among tags, and in turn automatically constructs self-correcting location information domain ontology. The system devised in this study will associate data derived from easily accessible folksonomy with meaningful and technological information from ontology.
Performance Improvement of Tone Compression of HDR Images and Qualitative Evaluations using a Modified iCAM06 Technique

High-dynamic-range (HDR) rendering technology changes the range from the broad dynamic range (up to 9 log units) of a luminance, in a real-world scene, to the 8-bit dynamic range which is the common output of a display's dynamic range. One of the techniques, iCAM06 has a superior capacity for making HDR images. iCAM06 is capable of making color appearance predictions of HDR images based on CIECAM02 and incorporating spatial process models in the human visual system (HVS) for contrast enhancement. However there are several problems in the iCAM06, including obscure user controllable factors to be decided. These factors have a serious effect on the output image but users get into difficulty in that they can't find an adequate solution on how to adjust. So a suggested model gives a quantitative formulation for user controllable factors of iCAM06 to find suitable values which corresponds with different viewing conditions, and improves subjective visuality of displayed images for varying illuminations.
An Enhanced Deinterlacing Algorithm using New Edge-Directed Interpolation

This paper proposes a method to reduce the complexity and improve the performance for gentle-slope edges which is the disadvantage of deinterlacing algorithm using the new edge-directed interpolation. To improve the performance for gentle-slope edges, the proposed algorithm increases the number of neighboring reference pixels. To reduce the artifacts and the computational complexity, the proposed algorithm adaptively determines the number of neighboring reference pixels. With computer simulations for a variety of images, it shows that the proposed algorithm provides improved performance in PSNR and subjective evaluation compared with the existing algorithm.
Enhancement of a Choroid Vessel Using Conditional Erosion in ICGA Image

In this paper, we proposed new method to enhance choroidal vessels by suppressing retina vessels brightness. It is well-known that CNV(choroidal neovascularization) is related with sight loss. The main feature of CNV is the occurrence of new vessels in choroid. Unfortunately, because retina vessels brightness is stronger than choroidal vessels brightness in ICGA(indocynanine green angiography) image, so that the choroidal vessels were hardly recognized. Therefore, for correct diagnosis, the choroidal vessels must be enhanced in ICGA image. The proposed enhancement method consists of 3 strategies. First, the retina vessels were detected by multi scale enhancement technique, hysteresis thresholding, KNN(Kth-nearest neighbor) classification method. And then, a retina vessel mask was generated from detection result. Next, the brightness of retina vessels was suppressed by the proposed conditional region erosion method and mask region until the mask region was vanished. Finally, the brightness of choroidal vessel was enhanced on processed image. Through an experiment, we had confirmed that the proposed method was robust and efficient.
Detection of Retinal Vessels of Fundus Photograph Using Hessian Algorithm

Fundus images are highly useful in evaluating patients' retinal conditions in diagnosing eye diseases. In particular, vessel regions are essential in diagnosing diabetes and hypertension. In this paper, we used top-hat filter to compensate for non-uniform background. Image contrast was enhanced by using contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) method. Hessian matrix was next applied to detect vessel regions. Results indicate that our method is 1.3% more accurate than matched filter method. Our proposed method is expected to contribute to diagnosing eye diseases.
Gaze Detection Based on Facial Features and Linear Interpolation on Mobile Devices

Recently, many researches of making more comfortable input device based on gaze detection technology have been performed in human computer interface. Previous researches were performed on the computer environment with a large sized monitor. With recent increase of using mobile device, the necessities of interfacing by gaze detection on mobile environment were also increased. In this paper, we research about the gaze detection method by using UMPC (Ultra-Mobile PC) and an embedded camera of UMPC based on face and facial feature detection by AAM (Active Appearance Model). This paper has following three originalities. First, different from previous research, we propose a method for tracking user's gaze position in mobile device which has a small sized screen. Second, in order to detect facial feature points, we use AAM. Third, gaze detection accuracy is not degraded according to Z distance based on the normalization of input features by using the features which are obtained in an initial user calibration stage. Experimental results showed that gaze detection error was 1.77 degrees and it was reduced by mouse dragging based on the additional facial movement.
A Security method and Performance evaluation of preventing DoS attack against DAD in MANET

The study of IP address allocation in MANET can be categories into Stateful and Stateless. The one, special node monitors other nodes' IP address and allocates IF address. And the other, node generates IP address by itself. Nodes in MANET have mobility and restricted resource, so Stateless is more suitable than Stateful. But, in Stateless, node requires DAD process because of unique IP address allocation. And Dos attack can be happened in DAD precess. In this paper, we propose a security method on preventing DoS attack against DAD in MANET using one-way hash function. Since, Computation of one-way hash function is suitable for nodes' restricted resource character in MANET. And we evaluate performance using NS2 and compare with other security method which is CGA using signature.
Analysis of IEEE 802.11n System adapting SVD-MIMO Method based on Ns(Network simulator)-2

WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) standard is currently developing with increased wireless internet demand. Though existing IEEE 802.11e demonstrates that data rates exceed 54Mbps with assuring QoS(Quality of Service), wireless internet users can't be satisfied with real communication system. After IEEE 802.11e system, Study trends of IEEE 802.11n show two aspects, enhanced system throughput using aggregation among packets in MAC (Medium Access Control) layer, and better data rates adapting MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) in PHY(Physical) layer. But, no one demonstrates IEEE 802.11n system performance results considering MAC and PHY connection. Therefore, this paper adapts MIMO in PHY layer for IEEE 802.11n system based on A-MPDU(Aggregation-MAC Protocol Data Unit) method in MAC layer considering MAC and PHY connection. SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) method with WLAN MIMO TGn Channel is used to analyze MIMO. Consequently, Simulation results show enhanced throughput and data rates compared to existing system. Also, We use Ns-2(Network Simulator-2) considering MAC and PHY connection for reality.
The Study on Software Tamper Resistance for Securing Game Services

The commensurate number of the attacks and infringement targeting a vulnerability of the game service has been increasing constantly, due to the dramatic growth and expansion of the impact of the game industry. However, there exist no subsequent researches for the differentiated technology, which is to prevent the reverse function of the game service. Therefore, in this study, we examined the current status of infringement toward online game services which are provided in the market currently and designed the proper technical measures for a manipulation of the game service which is the most vulnerable part. We have encrypted an execution file and decrypted it in real time process. Furthermore, we conducted debugging, disassemble, and prevented a its own memory dump, also concealed the information to overcome the module dependency to preclude a manipulation.
Facial Color Control based on Emotion-Color Theory

Graphical expressions are continuously improving, spurred by the astonishing growth of the game technology industry. Despite such improvements, users are still demanding a more natural gaming environment and true reflections of human emotions. In real life, people can read a person's moods from facial color and expression. Hence, interactive facial colors in game characters provide a deeper level of reality. In this paper we propose a facial color adaptive technique, which is a combination of an emotional model based on human emotion theory, emotional expression pattern using colors of animation contents, and emotional reaction speed function based on human personality theory, as opposed to past methods that expressed emotion through blood flow, pulse, or skin temperature. Experiments show this of expression of the Facial Color Model based on facial color adoptive technique and expression of the animation contents is effective in conveying character emotions. Moreover, the proposed Facial Color Adaptive Technique can be applied not only to 2D games, but to 3D games as well.
Media Expression and Structure Generation under RTSP for Effective Transmission on Mobile Environment with PoC Box system

The brand new type of mobile terminal services are kept being introduced in accordance with the development of mobile communication technology. Among many kinds of mobile application services, the PoC application standard which is using instant messaging service and group calls method with the existing walkie-talkie technology has been finished as the version 1.0 after tremendously active discussion and is being continued to be confirmed as 2.0 and 2.1. The PoC Box, which is discussed for replacing the PoC client and intermediate object as a voice messaging box, is currently being introduced and the biggest issues for PoC Box technology topics include the part of saved informations' processing and effective multimedia contents' transmission in the PoC Box system. In this research, we propose that the PaC client could effectively transmit the media to the end-user by specifying the playback location or range, focusing on the contents and the methods of dynamic controlling for saved media in PoC Box. This paper deals with the way of dynamic controlling method using the RTSP which is appropriate for PoC Box and the effective method for generation, expression, processing of various multimedia contents including audio and video objects.
Automatic facial expression generation system of vector graphic character by simple user interface

This paper proposes an automatic facial expression generation system of vector graphic character using gaussian process model. Proposed method extracts the main feature vectors from twenty-six facial data of character redefined based on Russell's internal emotion state. Also by using new gaussian process model, SGPLVM, we find low-dimensional feature data from extracted high-dimensional feature vectors, and learn probability distribution function (PDF). All parameters of PDF are estimated by maximization the likelihood of learned expression data, and these are used to select wanted facial expressions on two-dimensional space in real time. As a result of simulation, we confirm that proposed facial expression generation tool is working in the small facial expression datasets and can generate various facial expressions without prior knowledge about relation between facial expression and emotion.
3D Digital Restoration of Traditional Wooden Building Using Parametric Modeling

This paper proposes an efficient implementation way of traditional wooden building using Parametric modeling method which uses the relations of numerical value ratio between building materials. Building structures and order of construction for Geunjungjeon of Kyuungbok Palace is digitally implemented proving the efficiency of the suggested proposal. Although the existing digital modeling methods for traditional wooden building emphasize the exterior modeling of the building, our modeling method constructed numerous wooden materials and arranged those pieces orderly so that people can see the interior structures of the building which usually is beyond one's vision. The suggested Parametric modeling method, Multi-Object Texture Mapping, Physical Camera Restoration, and GI Renderer for implementing Geunjungjeon of Kyuungbok Palace can be practically used for digital implementation for other traditional wooden buildings.
An Automatic LOINC Mapping Framework for Standardization of Laboratory Codes in Medical Informatics

An electronic medical record (EMR) is the medical system that all the test are recorded as text data. However, domestic EMR systems have various forms of medical records. There are a lot of related works to standardize the laboratory codes as a LOINC (Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Code). However the existing researches resolve the problem manually. The manual process does not work when the size of data is enormous. The paper proposes a novel automatic LOINC mapping algorithm which uses indexing techniques and semantic similarity analysis of medical information. They use file system which is not proper to enormous medical data. We designed and implemented mapping algorithm for standardization laboratory codes in medical informatics compared with the existing researches that are only proposed algorithms. The automatic creation of searching words is being possible. Moreover, the paper implemented medical searching framework based on database system that is considered large size of medical data.
A Study on Judgement of Optimal SPRT for Learning Estimation

A potential advantage of computer-based education is individualized instruction. In this regard, issues regarding how to evaluate individual learners fast and accurately in order to implement customized instruction program and to open education are raised. In this study, we suggest through a simulation study a way to reach an optimal decision by complementing the insufficient point of the way of the decision of the existing SPRT(Sequential Probability Ratio Testing) in which the number of questions in a test decreases while decision on pass or fail is relatively exact. For the purpose, the data of the examinees obtained from actual tests were used in this study and we present that simulation to verify the accuracy of decision and Multilevel SPRT decision standard for initial set point for optimal SPRT decision and evaluate the ground of the same through simulation.
